Fischer: Cut healthcare costs by allowing hospitals to turn away patients
If we want to bring down the cost of health care, it’s easy. What we lack is not the way but the will.
The way is simple.
First, eliminate the federal requirement that hospitals have to treat any patient who shows up. That’s the place to begin. Get government out of telling hospitals who they have to do business with. There is simply no way to control the cost of health care if hospitals are obligated to provide healthcare to all regardless of their ability to pay.
...
Most hospitals were started by Christians or Christian organizations, and will find a way to offer care to the indigent whether the federal government is standing over them with a cudgel or not. The American people, because of the spirit of Christianity, are the most generous people on earth, which they prove time after time when disasters hit anywhere in the world. Let’s not insult our own people by saying they are not generous and compassionate enough to help the needy with medical care.
But if they're gay, non- Christian or a woman wanting to say whats done to her body, then they're shit out of luck.

I did, but I couldn't make out what it said. Too small, low-res, not enough contrast, and the lines running through it don't help. Anyway, thanks for satisfying my curiosity.

So, if I understand correctly he is saying three things.
The first is that hospitals should stop accepting any government money.
The second is that Christians (nobody else) should make up the difference with voluntary contributions.
The third is that voluntary money is cheaper than government money, so the cost of health care will drop.

The Southern Baptist Convention, in their big get-together, did something of note during their voting this week: elected their first black denomination leader.
Given the history of Southern Baptists - they were the pro-slavery section of Baptist churches in the Civil war, I suppose that is a big deal, of sorts.
However, old ways die hard:
Southern Baptists approve alternate name, but barely
Members of the Southern Baptist Convention narrowly accepted the alternate unofficial descriptor of “Great Commission Baptists” as the denomination attempts to make inroads beyond its base in the Bible Belt.
[...]
The Rev. Wiley Drake, pastor of First Southern Baptist Church in Buena Park, Calif., was disappointed in the close vote.“That’s a tragedy,” he said. “That means that Southern Baptists are split and we’re split over who we are, what we are, and they’re trying to blame everything on the name.”
[...]
Being from the "South" is too important to those folk.
Oh, and we should not be surprised at this one:
Delegates also:
— reaffirmed their belief in the doctrine of inerrancy, which holds that Scripture is without error, and in “the direct creation and historicity of Adam and Eve.”
No evolution for these people.

(I suppose someone could remind him that if the hospitals don't have to admit everyone, the emergency room might end up turning HIM away -- if he's without ID and so messed up that his "prosperous citizen" state isn't obvious.)

I doubt he's thought about that. People who talk like that never think "what if it's me", it explains why they're so cavalier about the lives of others.

Beware the remote:
Hotel Rooms’ Most Bacteria-Laden Surfaces? Don’t Touch That Dial
About 81 percent of hotel room surfaces sampled held at least some fecal bacteria. And television remotes are, in fact, among the most bacteria-laden surfaces, ranking up there with toilets and bathroom sinks. The findings were presented June 17 at the American Society for Microbiology’s 2012 general meeting.

He's being honest. If you think health care is a privilege and not a right then this is a logical attitude to have. People will get what they can pay for and won't get what they can't pay for.
