WTF
Wingnuts • Views: 33,867

Here’s your daily moment of sheer wingnut crazy, brought to you by breitbart.com “contributing journalist” and all-around angry guy Pat Dollard.

The source of Dollard’s demented post: Alex Jones. Of course.

Among other things, Dollard appears to be a fan of Michigan Republican Dave Agema.

Dollard picks all the right friends.

Agema is in the news again (he’s not a stranger to stirring up hate):

A Michigan RNC Committeeman Wants You to Know the Truth About “Filthy” Homosexuality

[…]

You can read the whole article at this link; it asserts that “part of the homosexual agenda is to get the public to affirm their filthy lifestyle,” that “homosexuals aren’t discriminated against in employment,” and that “Homosexuals account for half the murders in large cities,” among other fun factoids. Agema hasn’t responded to a call or email about the post, but he’s spent part of his career trying to eliminate domestic partner benefits, so I doubt anybody’s pulling a fast one on him.

5 Social Conservatives Threatening To Leave The GOP Over Marriage Equality

Shortly before the US Supreme Court heard arguments to strike down restrictions on same-sex marriage, the Republican National Committee outraged hardline conservatives with a report calling for greater flexibility on gay rights and immigration reform in order to lure young people into the Republican Party. GOP strategist Karl Rove piled on the insult by speculating the Republican Party’s next presidential candidate could support marriage equality (though later walked it back). Evangelical leaders erupted in protest, threatening to abandon the GOP if the party were to change its increasingly unpopular stance.

The tide is changing rapidly against this so-called evangelical base of the GOP. Last week, Sen. Rob Portman (R-OH) became the first sitting Republican senator to declare his support for marriage equality. While a majority of all Republicans still oppose same-sex marriage, a new poll found that 49 percent of Republicans under 50 years old actually support extending the right to marry to same-sex couples.

Below are a few of the social conservatives the GOP would have to do without if they abandoned their opposition to same-sex marriage:

Beck: Bachmann Ethics Investigation Is a Muslim Brotherhood Plot

Yesterday, it was reported that Rep. Michele Bachmann was under investigation for improperly using PAC donations to pay her staff during her presidential campaign … and, for Glenn Beck, this is simply further proof that the United States government has been infiltrated by the Muslim Brotherhood.

As Beck sees it, Bachmann has been a target of the Brotherhood for a long time because she has been “uber clear” about the threat posed by the organization and so, in retaliation, the State Department has been relocating hundreds of Muslim Somali refugees into her congressional district. And for daring to ask why this was happening, says Beck, “now she’s under investigation”

Activist: Kansas HIV quarantine bill lets religious officials justify discrimination

The founder of an organization which advocates for the rights AIDS patients says that a proposed Kansas law which allows HIV people to be quarantined would essentially give cover to religious officials who might want to discriminate against LGBT people.

“That rural county health department — and I hate to say it — potentially could use this bill to justify their religious belief that could override their professional belief,” Positive Directions Inc.’s Cody Patton told KWCH on Tuesday.

Right now, it’s against the law in Kansas to quarantine HIV positive people but House Bill 2183 changes that. The measure is intended to allow firefighters or paramedics who are exposed to bodily fluids during the course of duty to get the victim’s blood tested without a court order. But lawmakers also added language that allows people with HIV and AIDS to be quarantined.

Patton said that he understood the need to protect emergency officials, but lawmakers had not thought through their decision to quarantine people with HIV.

“They didn’t get that whole concept of being discriminated against,” he pointed out. “And they didn’t get that stuff still happens today.”

Oh, they get it. Its a feature, not a bug.

Evidentally, even if you changed your mind and way of life, you’re gonna go to hell:

If you supported the war, you were wrong. And even if you went on to be a great person or public servant, that is an eternal blot on your existence in this world and the next.

Sanctimonious fuckery like this didn’t stop the war then, and it won’t serve any productive purpose now.

U.S. trolling fans of Al Qaeda with online campaign

Seeking out the virtual spaces where “Al-Qaeda and its supporters lurk” is part of America’s strategy to combat violent extremism, Under Secretary for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs Tara Sonenshine told students at the University of Maryland.

“We robustly engage with them in chat forums in Arabic, Somali, Punjabi and Urdu,” she explained.

“By targeting the hardliners, we are really trying to reach the middle grounders, the fence sitters, the sympathizers and passive supporters.”

Last year, staff at the new Center for Strategic Counterterrorism Communications, which reports directly to Sonenshine, wrote some 7,000 posts on different online forums.

“When we counter unfounded rumors, propaganda and conspiracy theories with facts, truth and reasonable argument, we can better define what we stand for. And we have a greater chance of changing more minds,” Sonenshine said.

“We cannot afford to stand on the sidelines and let cynical voices distort and misreport our policies, values, and interests,” she added.

“We have to enter that communications space — where so many young people are getting their information — and contest extremist and other negative rhetoric with facts and counter-assertions.”

She admitted it was hard to assess whether such virtual online battles were helping to win the war against extremists, quipping that “terrorists are not exactly willing to participate in surveys.”

Greek Filmmaker Kollatos Arrested

Greek filmmaker Dimitris Kollatos was arrested, on March 27 at his house in Kolonaki, Athens on the charge of insulting the national emblem.

Kollatos raised on the balcony of his house, which is situated almost opposite the German Embassy, a Greek flag on which the Parthenon was depicted with red stains under a German boot. He chose this way to protest against Germany’s role in the Greek crisis.

Policemen asked Kollatos to remove the flag from his balcony and when he refused they arrested him and took him to the police station of Kolonaki where he is still detained.

Officially, the reason for his arrest is insulting the Greek flag, but according to the director, the arrest was made to satisfy a German Embassy request.

Well, obviously Obama is the new global head of Al-Qaeda. He killed the old one. I’m pretty sure that’s how the organizational hierarchy works.

Oh wait, I’m thinking of the fucking Chronicles of Riddick. Or maybe a pack of wolves.

Or Klingons.
