John Carpenter gets sadly overlooked for his music composition skill. Halloween III, for example, has an amazing score. If you like electronica, it’s worth a listen regardless of what you think of the movie itself.

Whoa. Watching “Flipping Vegas”. Dude buys a condo in a gang ridden area.
He’s into the flip, crews in and out.
Then he gets a call about a break in, police called. On camera this guy that bought the place drives over, no cops visible, just grabs a Glock with a laser sight and flashlight and walks in to clear the place or confront a likely burglar or worse. He is taking it to the possible bad guy. Solo. At least that what it looks like. Caveat-Few things are less genuine than reality shows.
What gets me is this shows a really dangerous and irresponsible approach. Call the cops and let them clear the place. Yeesh.

Found one at Target for $12.99. They also had Green Lantern (and all the DC superheroes), but as the Flash one is the most recognizable on him I went with that. I have a long-sleeved undershirt, acceptable khaki pants, and shoes already.

My dream has finally come true
By A.Joy on October 16, 2012
I have spent my whole life wanting to be a real squirrel. Knowing deep down inside that I should have been born a squirrel. I sit for hours outside under a tree with my squirrel friends just hoping that one day I won’t feel like an outsider but truly one of them. They are kind and tell me to not take it so hard and that its ok to be different but deep down inside I know I am just a human….until now. Once I put on the mask I was no longer an outsider any more but a real squirrel. I felt for the first time in my life I wasn’t living a lie anymore. Every day trying to be something that I’m not. And after my species reassignment surgery I will be who I was meant to be, who I should have been in the first place a squirrel.

Update: Dawkins still a douchebag
Richard Dawkins Talks Religion, Science, and Why He Thinks Obama’s an Atheist with Bill Maher
Maher asked Dawkins if he subscribes to Maher’s theory that Pope Francis is an atheist. Dawkins said, “I’m sure Obama is an atheist, I’m sure Kennedy was an atheist, but I doubt if Pope Frank is.” He said the fact this new Pope is “nice” is “dangerous,” because he still subscribes to the same religious system as previous Popes, just with a softer tone.
I like Francis. He seems nice and I think he can bring some much needed reform to The Church.

If you think Francis is going to bring real, full-scale reform to the Vatican, I’ve got oceanfront property in Nebraska to sell you.
Yes, he has done some outreach to alienated groups and tried to soften the hardline focus on social issues that Pope Palpatine Benedict had, but he’s not going to rock the boat too far. Anyone who thinks he’s going to radically alter the church is dreaming.

And he’s still not going to radically change anything in the Church. That’s the point.
Doing outreach to alienated groups and kicking out a corrupt bishop who spends a lot of money is one thing. Real, full-scale reform, like tossing out all the priests and bishops that covered up child abuse, or pushing for the ordination of women, or married clergy? Not happening. Ever. He’s not going to change things to any great degree even if he comes across as a kinder, gentler pontiff.

What a bad day Lizards..I left this morning to take a load of my stuff to the new place up in the North woods..A 1300 mile trip. There I was in the middle of nowhere by broken arrow, Oklahoma and I blew a front tire.
I was only going around 90mph holding on for dear life as the tire shredded with smoke everywhere. It was kindof scary.
So I try to find somebody on my ‘smartphone’ It I just couldn’t find anybody to come out to help. Finally I found a 24 hour place..2 hours later these hillbillies in a beat up old Ford pickup arrive on scene..For a moment I was happy..They looked at my tire…They brought the wrong freaking size tire.
So they went back and I sit with Winston for another couple of hours..
Finally they show up to save the day. Funny when you are in need of help the hillbillies will charge you 200 bucks just for the tire and 172 for labor.
I drove down the road till I found a motel and stopped in for the night. Winston is passed out…What a day..Only another 1000 miles to go.

So, are they admitting that it is, after all, women who have the power over the giving of life itself?
Power that males will never have, since they don’t get pregnant, and will do anything to take that process and choice from women, which means that they must subjugate us in any way possible, even if it means belitting us, slut-shaming us, using physical violence, engaging in constant misogyny, etc.
Freedom of choice is freedom from the subjugation of others. Pregnancy should be a choice, not a punishment for some perceived “sin”.

Some general gardening advice I’ve heard is to make sure to try herbs as well as plants you expect to harvest fruits/vegetables off of. The reason for that is that for most herbs you’re just harvesting leaves, and that’s simpler for the plant than having it succeed all the way to flowering and then producing fruit.

It doesn’t need sarc tags. Some extremist groups of the Quiverfull variety really do see girls as baby incubators whose primary, if not only purpose in life is to get married and pop out babies one after another. Parents may see college as a way to find a suitable baby daddy for their little darling. Until college, their kids are usually kept at home for schooling, or attend Christian schools that reinforce the predestination of the kids.
