But Nader qualified that the success of his envisioned left-right alliance is dependent on strong leaders. He said Sen. Rand Paul, son of Ron Paul, has the potential to be a leader for the alliance, but added that he thinks the Kentucky Republican has certain shortcomings as a leader.“He’s a mixed bag, you know, he’s evolving. He’s broadening his issues that he’s talking about and they’re beginning to resonate,” Nader said. “On the other hand … he has problems dealing with people.”
Paul’s “problems” aside, Nader predicted that he will be “the one to beat” in 2016 in a Republican contest that is also likely to also include Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas and Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida. He also made it clear what he does not want to see in 2016: A Jeb Bush - Hillary Clinton matchup.

Nader has his own vision for who he’d like to be president and has even put forward a proposal of 20 billionaires who he encourages to run for president - a list that includes media mogul Oprah Winfrey and environmentalist Tom Steyer.“That’s where we’re at now: 20 billionaires with some enlightened background and I said run. Run! Run as an independent,” Nader said. “Just to shake up this two-party tyranny … So maybe one of them will run. We certainly have enough of them, don’t we?”

Presumably its based on the gun nut’s feelings of powerlessness, lack of control over their own destiny, and overall loss of manhood, which they assuage with a gun. They think they can sell the same idea to women and get THEM to think a gun will make them feel better.
The thing is, even if women at large DO decide to buy guns, my expectation would be that they won’t be obsessive about MORE and BIGGER guns the way guys are.

Yep, they never want to read the numbers.
About 2/3 of rapes and sexual assaults happen in the home of the victim or a friend or family member. Half are in the victim’s own home. So… how many women carry inside their house or apartment?
Almost half the time the rapist is not a stranger, and just over half of those the non-stranger is an intimate partner or family member. How many women are going to realize their husband/boyfriend/ex is going to shoot them before they’re attacked? (Hint - once you’re grabbed it’s almost always too late.)

It’s been a tough, tough month for Fixxed News. Obamacare was a wild success, exceeding all expectations. David Wildstein turned states evidence against their only 2016 hopeful. A religious right congressman was caught with another woman and forced from office, while another wingnut was indicted on 20 felony counts. The polls have turned against them. Snowden self immolates. Nobody wants to go to war in Ukraine. In a last ditch effort to turn the narrative, they poured all their resources into a loony welfare libertarian rancher and that blew up in their face.
Their deep bitterness was revealed last night during President Obama’s news conference. Fixxed News usually asks stoopid questions at these pressers, but yesterday, instead of asking a question, they just openly insulted the President.
The President loves when the losers play into his hand. Watch as he makes a monkey out of Fix News and the warmongers.

The new excuse: Being a racist isn’t illegal!
No, Einstein. It’s not. And Sterling isn’t being imprisoned or arrested.
The Mrs. Fish said it wasn’t fair because he was recorded in a private conversation. My thoughts are, that’s nice, he still shouldn’t say such douchey things in private, and it is absolutely in the Commissioner’s interest to get such haters out of his league.

The operation was brought to a halt after one of the women, who had come to France in 2010 to study but was allegedly forced into prostitution by the executive’s wife Claudia, eventually escaped her pimps in 2013 and alerted the police.
The woman told police that she was lodged in an apartment on the rue de Rivoli, which runs alongside the Louvre, and claimed she was expected to receive an average of five clients a day, charging each 𠫁50.
Several other apartments were rented in posh neighbourhoods of the capital, but were used only for a short time each to avoid drawing attention to the illicit activities.
The couple also allegedly forced the young Brazilian women to visit a self-styled guru in Paris - the third person charged in the case — for sessions that were supposed to boost their spirits but at 𠫅00 a go were in reality merely another way of making money out of them.

Yep. I’ve been trying to watch out for crazy weather all day. It was gloomy and rainy this morning. Then the sun came out and we hit 76° with fairly strong winds. That probably means tonight will be a bit touchy.

Seriously though, wasn’t there a firestorm around one of his tapings becuase it happened in California and the other person hadn’t given consent (which goes against that “two party” consent law)

Private or not, he’s a representative of the NBA on and off the court.

I’m no longer surprised at who, when, where and how some exploit others.
Greedy people will always be with us; it’s something we have to assume and not blind ourselves to. And we have to check our own greed and what we value as human beings, in the process.

Yes and the sugar baby claims that the sugar daddy gave consent to be recorded all of the time because his memory was not good and he would forget about promising things.
I think that is what she claimed.

I’m sure she did, seeing that the option is being charged under that law!!

I haven’t been on the board at the same time as you in the last couple of days.
I wanted to say I’m deeply sorry for your loss. Your euology to your son here was very moving.

According to TMZ, he knew he was being recorded
Donald Sterling was AWARE he was being taped during the conversation that was posted on TMZ
Sports, in which the L.A. Clippers owner went on a racial rant … so claims the woman who taped him.A source connected with V. Stiviano tells TMZ Sports … the full conversation lasted approximately 1 hour. We’re told Stiviano insists it was clear to Sterling at the beginning of the conversation he was being recorded.
What’s more … our sources say Stiviano routinely recorded her conversations with Sterling as HIS “archivist.” And what’s more … she would regularly play the tapes back to him because he would often forget what he had said.

Reports from folks who have heard the entire recording appear to back her up that he knew he was being recorded.
The fact that we also haven’t heard anything from him talking about how what she did was illegal, blah blah blah, but instead claiming she wasn’t his “girlfriend” and was involved in an extortion lawsuit (mischaracterization - it is a lawsuit alleging embezzlement filed by his estranged wife against her) is somewhat telling as well. None of them smell like roses.
Yes, that portion is currently a he said/she said, but there are some critical thinking skills that could be engaged here.

Not surprising an emotionally immature RWer would say something like that.
Men who are jealous of the attention their own children get are a dime a dozen, I found over the years.

Are you running Firefox? There’s been some discussion regarding a bug in FF that can cause that.

I liked this speech better when the Taliban gave it. Seriously it’s like they’re not even trying to hide their contempt for women. Look at this quote-
“It is an abominable idolatry to love your children more than you love your husband, and it will ruin your marriage.”
Yeah how dare women love their children.

As Klys said, it’s a Firefox thing. That’s why there’s another version posted under the ones that have the slow audio.

I don’t know what the technical details behind it are, but that’s what was discussed (per Charles) and why he’s putting the links underneath.
Anyway, feel free to hop upstairs and join the conversation there. :)
