Being a dumbass is no excuse for breaking the law. I don’t see any reason why Obama should pull strings. Nothing about this case shows any signs of corruption and people have been arrested for similar charges in the past.

As a Marine, I consider this guy an embarrassment. Who drives around San Diego with an arsenal in their car, then fails basic navigation and ends up in another country?

Michiganders succumb to immigrant disease panic:

Another man, who claimed he was “allergic to bullsh*t” and walked out on comments from a Wolverine official, wore a surgeon’s mask around his neck to symbolize his concerns about germs.

“I fear within two years of letting these immigrants in, these masks will become standard,” said Tom Ratcliff, of Kingston, who volunteered to drive busloads of immigrant children back to the border.

Even the guys attorney says that this case will have to run its course and that no call from any US official is going to make a difference.

Despite the apparent sincerity of Tahmooressi’s mistake, there is a likelihood the case will run its course, according to Benitez.

This is a federal court and as in any democratic nation you will not find an executive calling up a judge and ordering the release of a suspect,” Benitez told foxnews.com after his hiring. “It makes no difference if it is a mayor, governor, or the president, there’s not a phone call in the world that will change this.”

Also much of the delay in this case has been because this is the Marines third lawyer.

The 26-year-old veteran of two tours in Afghanistan was finally able to tell his story to a judge, after his case had been delayed by both Mexico’s unpredictable legal system and his own trouble settling on a lawyer. It was not immediately clear what Tahmooressi said at the evidentiary hearing, which was closed to the public. The next hearing in the case is scheduled for August 4.

The delays in his case were precipitated by multiple changes in his defense team. Since April 28, Tahmooressi has had three defense attorneys, including Benitez.

That said, I am sure the matter has been looked into and will be closely watched for any irregularities..

1) remember to Look Down Benevolently. not everybody is as calm and wise as you are. remember, your job is to give everybody the Benefit Of Your Wisdom. you are, fer sure, Very Calm, Moderate, and Reasonable. not like those critics of yours who are Angry, which is Bad

2) you are empowered to tell people What They Think. they’ll deny it, but you know What They Think better than They do. After all, when they say the sky is blue, it’s clear - to you, anyway - that they are trying to tell people that the sky is purple. it’s obvious!

3) remember, Some Say some stupid things. or at least some people should be saying these stupid things, even if you can’t find anybody who says them, because it’s time for you to say how stupid Some Say are, whoever they are, for saying them. Some Say you lie when you do this, but these people are just Angry, which is Bad

4) in conclusion, it’s obvious that there is an Easy Answer to all this. everybody else - except people who agree with you - are just stupid for not seeing the Easy Answer. why doesn’t everybody just do what i say?? it’s a mystery…

You know, when I married someone who was not a U.S. citizen I found out that many people had no clue about how our immigration laws worked. When I said that my now-ex would have to apply for a residency permit so many people were shocked to find out that it wasn’t automatic. Eventually, I moved to his country which also entailed applying and jumping through all sorts of hoops, like a medical exam, getting fingerprinted and having the FBI certify that I had never committed a crime. If I had been convicted of a crime, that would have automatically (or almost automatically) made the move impossible. So, I also laugh when people say they don’t like the politics here so they’re going to move to… wherever.

So, I wouldn’t be surprised to find that most of the people protesting the immigration stuff have no clue what the actual laws are.
