Hey, give Princess Dumbass of the Northwoods a little bit of credit. ‘6’ smears easily into a ‘4’ if you use that dang eco-friendly water-soluble ink on your hand.

You know what? I’ll cut Half-Governer Quitting is for Winners some slack. She was obviously excited about being there, and we all make mistakes from time to time.

After all, if someone like Obama accidentally said there were 57 states, no rational person would flip out over that.

Hold on…

If your cat is like most cats, it doesn’t give a rat’s ass about YOU.

Or at least, it will give that appearance. Personally, I think most cats are insecure and hide it with a massive display of nonchalance. Mrs. J and I left our cats with a housesitter for 6 weeks*, and my cat was so happy to see me that she slept on my head that night, purring so loudly that it disrupted her breathing and she’d have to clear her throat every few minutes.

*when we were younger, and had cats and no kids

Sarah Palin is the poster child for unearned privilege.

Catapulted to a position on the national stage she’s unqualified to possess and did nothing to earn, she’s squandered it by acting like the vicious “mean girl” that she is and the country is poorer for it.

Al Gore fights to educate us about climate change; Sarah fights for the right to drink Big Gulps.

He’s going to love prison, if there’s any justice at all. And that video left no doubt in my mind that he had no business shooting that man who was very polite even as he was being shot.

SC is not going to love paying the proceeds from a civil suit either. If the trooper isn’t prosecuted by the State, I hope Justice gets involved.

These kinds of shootings just cannot continue.

I suspect what he is worried about is retaliation against Muslims in the OKCity area.

I also suspect - strongly - that he is substantially less at risk than any unfortunate brown people, particularly if they wear religious headgear. Certainly there were attacks on Sikh devotees after 9/11 because bigots typically can’t be bothered with actually understanding anything about their victims.

So I finished the book on Tammany. Have to say I’m a bigger Al Smith fan than I was before even if I do think it was personal bitterness over not winning the ‘32 nomination that led him to break with FDR. And I think being fond of a nice cold beer that I would have more in common with the Tammany types than the Progressive types. Agree more with the former’s approach to poverty too. By the way also, Robert Wagner is one of the best senators that I don’t hear get enough love by today’s left. Anti-prohibition, strong supporter of labor, sponsored the lynching ban that FDR did not sign, and also supported Jewish refugees trying to escape Hitler’s Germany.

That’s my point. Her whole spiel is dog and pony shows like VVS where she gets to attack Obama nonsenically and gets cheered on doing. She’s too chickenshit to actually run for office because it would mean she would actually have to be pressed on her crazy stances and past actions. In their lives, EVERYONE has a government issued photo ID that they simply renew by mail or online (because EVERYOBDY is online, right?) every couple years. Nobody could POSSIBLY live in America without having to show their ID, even though the number of times I’ve had to show my ID this year is in the low single digits, and two of those were big financial transactions (refi, and buying a car).

I’ve been arguing with two idiots on FB about Voter ID. They really, really cannot comprehend anyone living a different life from theirs.

GAAAAAAAHHH!!!!!

I had to renew my driver’s license PICTURE* in person in June. Due to my father dying, I let it go until the day after he passed away. Then I was faced with the Arizona DMV, which is its own personal circle of hell. Probably shouldn’t have been down there on that day. I was furious with the inefficiency of having to stand in a line, tell the woman up front what I needed and THEN get a form to fill out to get my picture retaken. I was all, “why don’t you distribute the forms as people enter and then you can take care of people more efficiently?” *rolls eyes*

So no, this stuff is NOT happening on the Internet.

*This is Arizona. The license itself doesn’t expire until 2025. Go figure.

Monthly payments estimated just north of $1.5M/mo. If it were possible to buy it, that is.

OK, if she keeps this up I might almost—ALMOST—start liking her ability to laugh at herself.

It probably won’t last, though…

that is pretty damn rare for Arizona, haboobs, dust devils, dust storms and even the odd blizzard up north, but twisters are rather uncommon here

you can reply like this:

“do you want to live in an america where everybody has to show a government issued identity card to perform their constitutionally guaranteed rights?”

“well do you??”

Depends. I have to show my ID every time I buy beer at the local C-Store. Not because I don’t look old enough or they don’t know me (been a customer for 20+ years), but because one of the other stores in the local chain got busted for under age sales. Now everybody has to show ID

McCain was thinking with his dick when he chose her, you know. It certainly wasn’t because she appealed to women, the majority of whom are smart about who’s in our corner (and it isn’t her or him).

It really does say a lot about his judgment.

I must say, my dick doesn’t like Sarah any better than the rest of me does.

Actually pretty clever of Palin to give the wrong address….

….if that was her idea to show terrorists the wrong address. Don’t know if the Willard hotel is happy with it now they’re a viable bomb subject.
