David Horowitz Says ‘Traitor’ Obama Is Letting Terrorists Bring Nukes Over Southern Border

They just keep getting more insane

In a conversation with right wing Florida talk radio extremist Joyce Kaufman, David Horowitz went into an absolutely bizarre hallucinatory rant about terrorists bringing nuclear weapons over the southern border of the US.

When Kaufman asked Horowitz about the U.S. program to resettle refugees from the Syrian civil war, he warned that the president is “importing our enemies,” adding that Obama and his party have “destroyed our southern border so it’s easy for terrorists to get here.”

“All they have to do is walk across that border,” he said, “and they’re going to do it, and when they come they’re going to bring chemical, biological and eventually nuclear weapons, so don’t kid yourself.”

Kaufman agreed, citing an unfounded Judicial Watch report about an ISIS training camp near the border with Mexico and the president’s recent prayer breakfast remarks to declare that the president has “lost it.”

“He’s a traitor,” Horowitz added. “His heart is with the enemy.”

The fear-mongering fantasy that there’s an ISIS training camp in Mexico just a few miles south of El Paso has been denied by the State Department, Homeland Security, the US Northern Command, the Texas Department of Public Safety, the El Paso Sheriff’s Office and the Mexican government, and reporters who went to that location found no evidence whatsoever that it exists.

But that doesn’t stop right wingers from continuing to circulate it, of course.

I have to wonder if he’s intentionally lying to keep ignorant conservatives too frightened to think, so they don’t realize Republicans are toxic, or if he actually believes his own absurd fearmongering.

OK, but besides these entities and sources, how do we know that there aren’t ISIS training camps just a few miles south of the US border?

that insipid lie about the iSIS camps that circulated a few days ago showed up on a family member’s FB, and I promptly informed them it was a lie after only about 3 minutes worth of digging.

The fact that the only source from that article were anonymous on the loon site JW was an instant indicator of thigh-high bullshit with red-alert flares shooting off. The right wing loon-fest circle jerk echo chamber infects a lot of families and it does take a fair amount of work to try and talk some family down from the ledge.

This whole thing is so freaking ridiculous.

As an immigrant, I’ve taken a keen interest in immigration issues, especially along the Southern Border. As such I’ve done extensive research into the challenges of policing and protecting such an area.

If the conspiracy nuts knew anything about the terrain out there they’d realize how virtually impossible their wacky scenario is.

Aside from the few (very well policed and monitored) crossings in places like Brownsville, El Paso, Nogales and San Diego/Tijuana, the vast majority of the U.S./Mexico border is virtually inhospitable mountains and deserts.

There are virtually no paved roads or highways, no water supplies, no settlements, no electricity, limited communications and so on and so forth.

Typically, the journey from Mexico to the U.S. on foot, even at the shortest distance, takes several DAYS of walking to complete. It’s virtually impossible for most migrants to carry enough water to sustain themselves, can you imagine a group actually attempting to lug a nuke through the desert?

It just wouldn’t happen.

It’s not like people can just waltz up to the border and walk on through with no effort. We aren’t talking about urban crossings here, we’re talking miles and miles of scorched badlands, which by the way, are also very easy to get LOST in. Crossing into the United States is a VERY dangerous journey even for young, fit individuals. A great many attempts end in death.

And I haven’t even started talking about the drug cartels yet. I really doubt they’d sit idly by while Islamic extremists set up a terror camp in their territory.

I wish more people would take the time to truly understand the situation out there.

Schweizer makes clear that he does not intend to present a smoking gun, despite the media speculation. The book relies heavily on timing, stitching together the dates of donations to the Clinton Foundation and Bill Clinton’s speaking fees with actions by the State Department.

Schweizer explains he cannot prove the allegations, leaving that up to investigative journalists and possibly law enforcement. “Short of someone involved coming forward to give sworn testimony, we don’t know what might or might not have been said in private conversations, the exact nature of the transition, or why people in power make the decision they do,” he writes. Later, he concludes, “We cannot ultimately know what goes on in their minds and ultimately provide the links between the money they took and the benefits that subsequently accrued to themselves, their friends, and their associates.”

How many sons and daughters of the confederacy (or heck, the revolution) had been slaveowners? How many of the exalted and vaunted Founders were slaveowners? Washington, Madison, Jefferson, Monroe (to name but four of the first five presidents of the US. Heck, Lafayette railed against Madison, Jefferson, and Monroe for allowing slavery to persist despite the “all men are created equal”.

Lafayette was right, of course, but Chuckles still sides with the racists and repeatedly quotes racists to “support” his nutter views.

Why is whether Ben Affleck employing minorities a concern to anyone? Because he was ashamed of fact that his ancestor may have been a slaveowner and didn’t want that made known (though the denial ended up carrying the story wider than if they ran it straight IMO).

I remember seeing one of those little robots on a tv show (great inventions? how things work? something like that) and I think they were designed for use in Iraq and Afghanistan to check out buildings before soldiers entered.

re: #79 freetoken

It’s Americana mythology, the whole lost colonies thing and such. The failed colonists most likely just died because they weren’t prepared to live outside of their civilization.

Nah — if they’d frozen to death, or starved to death, there would have been bodies or skeletons or something.

They were either conquered or adopted, by a tribe who moved so far inland it was generations before they had any more contact with other settlers.

I think Chuck is finally dropping the pretense and embracing his white supremacism openly.

Any $100 bounties for locals to send iphone pics of brown or black people working grounds crews and housecleaning for Master Affleck?

So this would be some kind of scandal in ChuckC’s universe? If nothing else, this shows what ChuckC thinks of working people, It’s honest work (something of which ChuckC is profoundly ignorant), and I’ll bet Affleck would pay an honest wage for it.

101 Charles Johnson  Apr 21, 2015 1:01:01pm

I’ve really been trying to ignore this Ben Affleck story because I just don’t care, but I finally broke down and read about it. So it was one of the stolen Sony emails that revealed Affleck wanted PBS to not mention he had a slave-owning ancestor, and the host of the show Henry Gates agreed to take it out.

And this is supposed to be VERY important according to the right… why, again? Movie stars concerned about their image? Studios giving in their demands? BREAKING EXCLUSIVE NEWS.

OK, Affleck shouldn’t have tried to hide this. But it boils down to… so what?

102 Charles Johnson  Apr 21, 2015 1:04:16pm

Seriously - anyone who’s really surprised that studios like Sony are run by dishonest creeps, and that celebrities are often spoiled, entitled creeps, is living a very sheltered life. This is what America’s entertainment business is.

I don’t wonder. It’s as deliberate a lie as any falsehood based propaganda ever was. IMO anyway.

The following story is mostly being mis-reported, intentionally in some circles:

Duke study finds ‘natural variability’ impacts global warming

Researchers at Duke University say global warming in not progressing as fast as it would under the most severe scenarios outlined by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.

HOAX!!HOAX!!HOAX!!HOAX!!HOAX!!

But wait… just a few paragraphs down:

“If that message gets out, then I think there would be less back and forth arguing about these short-term temperature trends because it doesn’t really matter that much scientifically,” explained Patrick Brown, a doctoral student in climatology at Duke University’s Nicholas School of the Environment.

Brown, as well as Wenhong Li, assistant professor of climate at Duke, found that the Earth is looking at IPCC’s more of a middle-of-the-road warming solution and not the fastest-tract prediction.

[…]

Headlines like “Climate warming close to middle-of-the scenarios” just won’t sell, so we see the MODELS ARE WRONG! WRONG!WRONG!WRONG! versions instead.

Yeah, I’m sure that since this asshole RWNJ is concern trolling over children, he’d be in total agreement with the recommendations put forth in the report that he cherry-picked the chart out of:

• Support access to high-quality early education programs to ensure that low-income children are on the path to success
and invest in effective job training and post-secondary education so more parents can access better-paying jobs.

• Change policies so families can keep more of what they earn by expanding the EITC and by increasing the Child Tax Credit and making it fully refundable.

• Expand programs that help families make ends meet such as SNAP and subsidies for child care and housing and simplify enrollment processes.

• Recognize parents’ dual roles as both parent and worker by building on programs that work such as Head Start and education and job training programs for parents.

Arizona:

A Mesa woman accused of running over her husband with an SUV because he didn’t vote in the 2012 presidential election has pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated assault.

Holly Nicole Solomon had a change of plea hearing Tuesday. Her sentencing is scheduled for May 21.

The 31-year-old Solomon originally pleaded not guilty to aggravated assault and disorderly conduct charges.

Authorities say Solomon was upset about President Barack Obama’s re-election and began arguing with her husband when she found out that he didn’t vote.

Her husband suffered a fractured pelvis. He told investigators Solomon believed their family was going to face hardship.

Solomon told police she was trying to scare her husband by stopping the vehicle close to him, but she accidentally stepped on the accelerator and struck him.
