Debate Night Jam: Mateus Asato, “Empty Hands”
Brazilian-born guitar player Mateus Asato gives us a beautiful tune to cleanse our mental palate of the Republican bad craziness we just witnessed, with some excellent tone and phrasing.

Giants @ Cubs. Something to flip back to as the debate becomes unpalatable.

Like cool water on a hot day. Thank you!
EDIT: Was it my imagination or did I hear just a whisper of Jimi in some of his phrasing?
How awesome it would be if the GOP candidates came out tonight in full clown makeup, yooge floppy shoes, red noses and all.

Fun Fact: For tonight's main debate, the entire audience is Minions.

Oh. The GOP is debating tonight. I am watching a This Old House re-run. Much more information.

Yes. There is nothing like a good New England accent. lol
By the way, we now have an “About” page, for the first time in LGF history.
They need to have pairing of candidates debating it out Buckley/Vidal style every week. Perry v Carson… Christie v Paul… Graham v Trump…

Saw the picture of it facing oncoming traffic on it’s side, arm waving, yesterday. Still funny. (vines don’t work the way my browser is set) Apparently the cops were tweeting comments and pictures too.

The last paragraph is rather nerdy. In a good way, of course!
re: #17 bratwurst
Golden parachutes for nearly sinking your company into bad deal after bad deal. Yeah, Carly, we get it. Not everyone can be so awful at their job that they can get a golden parachute.
Most of us would simply be fired and go away.
Yours is a certain kind of fail - the fail that just doesn’t go away no matter how badly you should.
It’s the kind of fail that should show Trump to be anything resembling a business wiz, but yet here he is. He got his fortune through inheritance and getting others to pay for his mistakes. That’s where his genius lies.
re: #24 lawhawk
getting others to pay for his mistakes
That must be where he got the idea that Mexico would have to pay for his fence.
I am trying to get on siruis xm internet radio for the first time so I can listen to the debate, and its been loading for several minutes now!
Fox News is lavishing the love on Carly Fiorina. They adore failed CEOs, especially if they’re “one of the worst tech CEOs of all time.”
The hypocrisy of the right just never stops.

Any classicists in the house? Did Hadrian get the Picts to pay for his wall?

She’ll get promoted for the next debate. She’ll eat Jeb! alive in an open debate format. His days are numbered.

“We need a president who can run America like a business!”
“Like the one who’s declared bankruptcy three times? Or the one who ran one of the most respected tech companies into the ground?”
“EXACTLY!”
God give me strength not to throw something at my TV during this clown festival debate.
“…Because of changes to HP’s culture, and requests for voluntary pay cuts to prevent layoffs (subsequently followed by the largest layoffs in HP’s history), employee satisfaction surveys at HP—previously among the highest in America—revealed “widespread unhappiness” and distrust,[34][54] and Fiorina was sometimes booed at company meetings and attacked on HP’s electronic bulletin board.[34]”

Here we go! We’re scaling Bullshit Mountain!
The National Stupidity Service has issued a Derpnado Warning for the Fox News Network.
Listen to the acoustics in that stadium…and this is just the blondes of Fox talking to each other. Bad call.

OK. My yellow booties are taped to the cuffs of my tyvek derpsuit. I’ve got booze, and I’m breathing nitrous from a 3000 psi tank through a US Divers regulator. I’M READY !!1!
The love for Fiorina is born of an obvious desperation. The GOP is knows they’ve dug a huge hole with female voters and think a token anti-choice woman in the VP slot might counteract Hillary.
They’re partially right, Fiorina would almost certainly provide some excuse for older conservative leaning women to justify voting Republican in 2016. The question though is how much does she really help in terms of the electoral vote. She doesn’t represent a swing state, and her staunch anti-choice politics are a significant liability in terms of her generating any broad multi-generational appeal among female voters.
Well at least there are more than 7 people there.
Stadium effect sucks. Banter boring. Sigh. I miss Newt.
You’re using HALF of a basketball arena, and you didn’t have the forethought to hang some curtains to help dampen the echo coming from the EMPTY HALF of the arena?
Amateur hour.
Upside: Watching the GOP “strong” bench make absolute jokes of themselves.
Downside: Having to watch Fox News to see the absolute lunacy on parade.

They tried that with Palin and it didn’t work that time.
re: #51 darthstar
The air will be thick tonight.
re: #50 teleskiguy
Gawd these acoustics! So much echo.
Nobody thought to hang curtains over the half of the arena that’s not being used. I predicted this would happen. Stupid fuckers.
re: #55 Amory Blaine

Not the only thing that will be thick. I’m guessing some of the contestants will, too.
Debate time: I’ve got that creeping feeling of dread that comes with not having any dramamine suppositories.
I think after Palin, the GOP won’t go with another nutjob woman for VP. My big money is on Rubio (you know for “Latino outreach”) or possibly Ben Carson with Ted Cruz as a dark horse.
If anyone is having trouble finding a live-stream of the debate to watch here’s one.

It hasn’t even started and I am I’ll. Are they moderators or cheerleaders?

Thanks—no joy yet, wants a flash update.
The Intertube gods, in their infinite mercy, have deemed that I shall not see this. Who am I to gainsay the Lords of Adobe?
I shall catch the crumbs that fall from the LGF table.
Or go watch Naked and Afraid.
Which is pretty much the same thing.
