Glenn Beck Says the Virginia Shootings Are a Sign of the End Times

“God is giving me one final warning”
Wingnuts • Views: 66,211

YouTube

Right Wing Watch notes that raving freakazoid nut sandwich Glenn Beck is using the murders of two WDBJ reporters in Virginia to pimp for the End Times … again. And when I say “again,” I mean this has been a constant theme for Beck for years now. For some reason, the End Times never seem to actually happen — but Beck’s audience falls for it every time.

“I think God is giving me one final warning,” Beck said. “He’s telling us, ‘You got one more chance, this is it.’ I’m telling you this is it … This is God saying, ‘Last chance.’”

“I told these guys fifteen years ago, you ever start to hear me reading right from the Scriptures, you know we’re at the end,” Beck continued. “I’m reading today right from the Scriptures … I’m telling you, as we watch things like a shooting on television and a shooting in the street, this is the beginning of sorrows. This is the beginning!”

I don’t think Glenn Beck’s predictions about the end of the world have ever been proven false. He’s been right about the world ending just about every time.

I want to see end times come true for Glenn Beck’s show/site/whatever the hell it is he does. Janitorial services would be better for him.

He is, just on the Internet. The End is nigh, and BTW, please send us money in case we don’t get Raptured.

Reposted from two threads below:
Charles, you did a public service by hammering away at your near-namesake. Anything you can do to expose just how nauseating that Bbart site is would be much appreciated, even though I know we’ll all get bored by it (as well as horrified). Until someone sues the hell out of them there’s probably no stopping them, but at least we can drive their reputation into Stormfront territory, where it belongs. Thus far, I fear, some of the more clueless in the media still think Bbart is relevant.
Beck, however, may be a hopeless case.

His audience wrapped insufficient amounts of duct tape around their heads before listening to Beck in the past, so now they have no brains left.

Another day, another high profile shooting, another tsunami of ignorance and hate.

It’s easy to get discouraged, but that is not the same as the end of the world.

When I get discouraged, the better angel of my nature reminds me of my grandchildren, and of the many pleasures of life that do so much to offset the growing infirmity and doubt of old age.

It also reminds me of the obligation to bear witness.

My ambition is to live past 100 with my mind still functional. I have 34 years to go. My centenary is as far in the future as 1981 is in the past. I still have a lot to do.

Hell who knows with these fools anymore. I just can’t even with these people anymore. I just cannot. I know the hate is everywhere now, like a virus, but I would give nearly anything to get the hell out of the southeastern US right now. I’m just so worn out from being surrounded by it.

In other news, a gun shop down the road from us went out of business. So there’s that. Not that there aren’t a dozen more and more being built but I’ll take whatever I can get today. This shit made me cry, not sure why it got to me so bad, but it did. I refuse to become numb to violence though, I just won’t let myself be robbed of my humanity like that.

It’s National Dog Day! That’s gotta be more interesting than the other news. Or at least less discouraging. So, a dog story:

Our Greyhound girl (Zeena the Worrier Princess) has started complaining when the boy (Rango) is sleeping in her bed.

She doesn’t bark at Rango. She goes over to Mrs. FBW’s side of the bed and barks at her, till she gets Rango to move.

When I end up in that situation, it’s almost always self-inflicted. Nobody to blame but me, sadly.

H&R Block snuck language into a Senate bill to make taxes more confusing for poor people

Think about what tax breaks are being targeted here. These are all refundable credits, which, with the exception of the college credit, overwhelmingly help low-income and working-class people. H&R Block is not pushing to make the mortgage interest deduction more complicated, or to make the charitable deduction more confusing. Tax breaks that mostly help rich people go untouched. H&R Block knows that rich people already use TurboTax or hire accountants; because it wants new business, it has decided to prey upon the poor.

Yeah, but in this case it was the right hand not knowing what the left hand was doing. When they first proposed said database, the first person I spoke with couldn’t explain it for shit, so I offered to mock up a template and let her take a look first. She shot the first one down and pointed to the daily reports I was already doing for them as the standard, so I went with that. Today her boss said no, I want this other format because that’s what the Finance director wants. And nobody ever mentioned the extra data or where to look for it until today.

Blargh. It’s fine. It will get done.

This really is just business as usual. Of course companies will do whatever they can to drum up more business, including lobbying for unreasonable changes to the laws that will help their bottom line.

The fact that mobs with pitchforks are nowhere to be seen is simply explained by the fact that the plutocrats today are much better at boiling the frog slowly than their predecessors in the Robber Baron era.

Had Clinton gotten the (D) nomination in 2008 and won the general election, she would not have wasted much of her first term on trying to deal with Republicans. That is what I like most about HRC.

On the other hand, this business of running her own email servers while SoS was a mistake, even if it turns out to have been completely legal. That Republicans would try to make a scandal out of it could be foreseen by any idiot. However, it should also have been foreseen that issues such as security and handling of classified information would change this from a 100% GOP nothing burger to a 99+% GOP nothing burger, which is a big deal in terms of it getting traction in the main stream media.

The first count refers to an incident with two agents identified only as C.M. and W.B. and says Groen used “a dangerous and deadly weapons, that is, a vehicle.”

Since Cruz really is a religious fanatic, he can probably get away with Trump-style racism, as long as he also provides enough anti-abortion red meat to give the religious right what it really wants.

Also, it has to be noted that the religious right got its modern start in schemes to evade school integration via white-only religious schools while trying to keep such schools tax-exempt. Racism may no longer be their primary message, but it isn’t as if racism in a GOP candidate is a disqualifier.

Good evening Lizards.

A tough day to follow media due to the shootings. The political side is still all-Trump all-day with a side of clown car. (DailyKos seems to be mainly the Bernie-Hillary war among the left-leaning with a veneer of current events over it.)

Work is slow and a bit boring right now. Plus I’m being nagged by a kidney stone and thus don’t have a lot of energy for cooking or additional non-work activities. (Pity since the weather is nice out for late August Philadelphia today.) Guess I will play with the cats, scan slides, and do some reading.

My personal indicator of THE END TIMES is having a copy of E G White’s _The Great Conspiracy_ suddenly appear in my mailbox. No postage on it, so it got placed there unofficially I guess. Deciding whether or not I want to make a stink about this or not with the apartment building management or the USPS since it was not something I requested to get.

I really don’t care how Trump’s wife chooses to present herself but it does amuse me that Michelle is called classless when there are various photos of Mrs. Trump with uh lots of exposed cleavage available. I am no prude but let me just say if that was a Democratic frontrunner’s wife, well we’d be hearing about how Democrats don’t care about morals and how their wives present themselves. But then again these are the people who shout about family values while they support disowning relatives for being gay.

They do when they make it obvious. Trump will make a misstep, and the more religious candidates will see a surge. It’s entirely possible that Trump will wind up with the nomination, but remember that Rmoney lost out big-time among conservative evangelicals.

I don’t know. What I am seeing interesting about Trump is he’s a lot of people’s second choices too. What Trump has going for him that none of the not Romney’s had is an endless personal treasure chest of funds.

The 14-year-old holding a class hostage was settled without bloodshed. A teacher talked him down and he surrendered. Didn’t see a lot of background on it, but one report said that the boy brought the gun into school in reaction to being bullied.

It’s enough to make it interesting. At this point, with as far to the right as all the candidates are wildly careening out of control, literally anything could happen. It’s hard to prognosticate when the only criteria for victory is, “Who can out-derp the rest the fastest?”

Often they do both the poison and the snake-handling.

I met a couple of “Signs Following” guys in Raleigh once. College men, who had left the faith. It was so strange hearing them reminisce about “the serpents” in the same casual, nostalgic manner with which my ersatz Catholic and Jewish friends recount their CCD classes, Bar Mitzvahs, etc.
