Trump Campaign Manager Smears Reporter He Allegedly Assaulted by Citing Chuck C. Johnson

Donald Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski

Following up on our story from yesterday about the Breitbart “News” reporter allegedly assaulted by Donald Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski, we have a few items of interest.

First, the incident was witnessed by Washington Post reporter Ben Terris:

As security parted the masses to give him passage out of the chandelier-lit ballroom, Michelle Fields, a young reporter for Trump-friendly Breitbart News, pressed forward to ask the GOP front-runner a question. I watched as a man with short-cropped hair and a suit grabbed her arm and yanked her out of the way. He was Corey Lewandowski, Trump’s 41-year-old campaign manager.

Fields stumbled. Finger-shaped bruises formed on her arm.

“I’m just a little spooked,” she said, a tear streaming down her face. “No one has grabbed me like that before.”

Fields posted a photo of the bruises on her arm:

Even though there’s a photo of bruises and an eyewitness, the Trump campaign is denying it ever happened and accusing Michelle Fields of exaggerating and trying to make herself part of the glorious Trump saga:

But even more ridiculous and offensive, Corey Lewandowski is now trying to smear Michelle Fields by citing… wait for it… the awful blog of notorious stalker Chuck C. Johnson, who was permanently banned by Twitter for targeted abuse and harassment.

You knew it was just a matter of time before the Trump campaign converged with the horrible, totally discredited Rage Furby, didn’t you?

(CNN) — The White House found itself on the defensive Friday over what would ordinarily be considered the most uncontroversial of events: a back-to-school speech to the nation’s children.

The White House says President Obama’s address next week to schoolchildren isn’t a policy speech.
The White House says President Obama’s address next week to schoolchildren isn’t a policy speech.

The White House said the address, set for Tuesday, and accompanying suggested lesson plans are simply meant to encourage students to study hard and stay in school.

Many conservative parents aren’t buying it. They’re convinced the president is going to use the opportunity to press a partisan political agenda on impressionable young minds.

“Thinking about my kids in school having to listen to that just really upsets me,” suburban Colorado mother Shanneen Barron told CNN Denver affiliate KMGH. “I’m an American. They are Americans, and I don’t feel that’s OK. I feel very scared to be in this country with our leadership right now.”

Chuck C. Johnson just the latest conservative example of failing upward: the more wrong, incompetent, and inept you are, the more accepted and trusted you are by your fellow morons and haters.

Man, oh man. You can’t even call this circular firing squad because shots are flying in 10,000 directions at once.

The TPGOP Thug Culture is coming home to roost. It’s almost as if they’ve run out of enemies to use these tactics on, and now they’re compelled to use them on each other.

It’s fascinating to watch, but the low-level fear that someone is going to end up getting killed is not going away.

They are rejoicing at this, for the most part.

As for the rest, there are very few principled objections to Trump’s fascist tendencies coming from the right.

Most of Trump’s RW critics are only concerned because they think he’d lose in a general election that would otherwise be easily won by some generic Republican.

Riots at the 2016 Republican convention. Thinking about it a bit more, that might be one of the less violent ways this mess could come to a head.

Assuming they believe their rhetoric about how dangerous gun free zones are, there will presumably be hundreds of delegates packing heat at the convention, so it could get bloody./

Yeah right. Gun humpers never believe their own propaganda when it comes to their own safety.

Security at the GOP convention is going to be tighter than a gnat’s asshole. The catering will probably need to be finger food only, on the grounds that plastic sporks are dangerous weapons.

Actually, the most effective ad against trump would be to address him directly “Donald, why do you keep lying?” Do them right, and he’d respond by blowing a gasket.

Then man then pressed forward and asked, “A lot of parents are trying to figure out how to explain some of the language they’re hearing on the campaign trail.”

Trump responded by mocking the man’s concerns.

Cliven Bundy hearing in Las Vegas this afternoon.

(oops, wrong tweet, lol! fixed now)

Bundy, 69, is to appear before a federal magistrate judge this afternoon to answer a string of criminal charges stemming from the April 2014 armed standoff with law enforcement near his ranch.

The defiant Bundy patriarch was brought to Las Vegas in February by U.S. marshals from Portland, Oregon, where he was taken into custody on his way to support an armed takeover led by two of his sons at a government wildlife refuge in eastern Oregon.

He faces 16 felony counts, including extortion, obstruction of justice, conspiracy to commit an offense against the United States, conspiracy to impede or injure a federal officer, assault on a federal officer, threatening a federal law enforcement officer and using and carrying a firearm in a crime of violence.

Is it going to be a gun-free zone?

Not bloody likely. As I recall, the usual dodge for large conservative events is that the convention venue sets the rules, which tragically forbid guns. This helps them convince their feeble-minded supporters that they aren’t total hypocrites on this issue.

For the record, not even a gun fight at a Republican convention with hundreds of fatalities would change the NRA’s position on any issues.
