Watch Live: Hillary Clinton Speech on Trump Campaign’s Ties to Racist “Alt-Right”

Politics • Views: 47,724

YouTube

In today’s speech in Reno, Nevada, Hillary Clinton will address Donald Trump’s “embrace of the disturbing ‘alt-right’ political philosophy,” according to an announcement from her campaign. As someone who’s been writing about this horrible movement and its increasing ties to mainstream conservatism for years, I’m very glad to see her focus on this vitally important issue, because I think many people are still unaware of how close the Trump organization is to these awful people.

Let’s hope she doesn’t pull any punches. It’s time to take the gloves off.

It’s just horrible to realize that people know about Trump’s courtship with racists and they still support him for some reason.

It’s even worse to realize just how many people know about Trump’s courtship with racists and they support him for EXACTLY THAT reason.

There are the people who don’t know.
There are the people who don’t care.

(And those people over there know, but don’t care).

Trump has both kinds of supporters.

And inevitably a bunch of people straddling the fence will just see Clinton’s speech as the usual kind of politics, and nothing more.

Trump crowd filling in at Radisson Center NH, now solid 850 according to Manchester Fire official.

If he keeps up with the faux moderation and the teleprompter, he’s gonna start losing the crowds.

I don’t think he has the mental discipline to stay on message. If he starts seeing small crowds on the regular, he’s going to tell all of his advisors to take a hike.

You’d think that someone who claims to hate the alt-right would be glad that Clinton is bringing attention about Trump’s ties to them but then again, I don’t think Ben actually hates them. He just hates that they ruined his delusion that antisemitism is a cornerstone of the left and that he got a taste of the hateful medicine he’s been dishing out for years.

Because she wants to speak after Trump’s rant.

Blimey, so announcement just after Trump starts speaking? That’s very sneaky. Looks like they’re playing around with Trump at this point. Wonder if he’ll find out about this midway through his speech. And if he does, what will he do? Will he go off teleprompter?

Arguably not the fringe - just the vocal base of the party that doesn’t want sweet talking politicians who subtly dog-whistle the racist/bigoted/misogynistic nonsense. They want someone overtly and openly demanding that others be put in their place so they can resume their position.

Again, mostly because the rest of the GOP’s concern isn’t about the substance of Trump’s policies, but complain about the style.

They’re worried that the overt nature of what the GOP wants would mean big losses.
