Watching Trump plunge into the abyss of delusional paranoid insanity is the “Play Within A Play” (a common Shakespearean device) that we are supposed to be watching while Mitch McConnell, behind the scenes and literally out of sight, is composing the opus that will repeal the ACA and in so doing crash the healthcare industry and the economy and the country.
Trump doesn’t even have to “play a part” he is typecast so well that he can be crazy without pretending to be crazy.
The play’s the thing.

re: #6 gocart mozart
I got hooked yesterday on a London call-in radio show that was talking about the Grenfell fire. the show host is a guy named James O’Brien. In Part 1 of the show, a fireman who was in the building called in with some pretty heart rending info, and in Part 2 (the next day’s show), O’Brien’s anger at the class warfare that created the conditions for the fire boils over. About halfway through the show he sinks into the realization that the Tories have absolutely no qualms about letting people die in order to put money in the pockets of the rich. Each show is over 2 hours long so it’s kind of a binge-listen, but I got totally hooked (although a few of the people calling in for the second half were pretty lame. It’s pretty satisfying when he cuts them off).
The intro for each video (20 seconds) is pretty stupid and doesn’t have anything to do with the program.
Rachel is reporting WaPo has an article saying the Eastern District of Virginia Fed Courts have asked for more information on Paul Manafort’s businesses and even his wife. Apparently they want even his dealings from his connections with Ukraine politics. Sounds like this is getting wider and wider.
Will the race be on for Flynn and Manafort to start really talking about how all this worked?

Kevin Abeyta from Durango, CO would have never been able to marry his husband had Obergefell v Hodges had gone the other way. Colorado had a constitutional ban on gay marriage approved by voters in 2004.
He saved three people from a burning building and died. A hero. RIP
Can I be Trump’s lawyer for just a few hours? That would help me set things right. Maybe 30 hours and I could do that down payment on a small house.

Virginia?
Just back from two weeks in Arkysaw, running a classical music festival. Good music, good crowds, pretty seamless from a Production point of view (outside of some tightly timed percussion equipment moves from/to various rehearsal/performance spaces).

Huh? Road rage? She wasn’t driving when she was kidnapped and murdered.
Why would Fox news hire her back? There’s no shortage of people willing to be paid for spewing Republican talking points on TV.
re: #11 stpaulbear
Perfect. I was wondering where I could hear some in depth discussion about what happened with that fire so thanks for those links.
I just read the Huffpost article linked in DodgerFan1988’s #9 comment.
Megyn Kelly’s third show will be an interview with “Hillbilly Elegy” author J.D. Vance.
She really is going after the controversies.
I know one Lizard member that probably won’t be watching. Well, two. I won’t be watching. I want to watch her crash and burn and NBC to take one on the jaw for thinking they needed Kelly in the first place.

What’s next on that $20 million money sink that NBC News created?
“Tonight, we talk to Dr. David Duke about the impending ‘honkeycaust.’ That how he describes it, folks. Should be a very interesting discussion.”
Megyn Kelly will interview David Duke if she doesn’t get fired beforehand. Mark my words.
re: #34 teleskiguy
I don’t see any difference between Alex Jones and David Duke so she may as well since she’s going after rehabilitating extreme Rightwingers.

I really wouldn’t be surprised. She’s a Fox News flunky, a fairly serious racist, and she’s got Fox News instincts. She doesn’t do journalism, she’s does softball interviews with horrible people to introduce their noxious ideas into the mainstream.
Her big gets so far have been Putin and Jones. She can’t drop back to “normal” interviews or she’ll have nothing to show off. She’ll stick to interviewing Trumpers and lunatics.

“Tonight on The Megyn Kelly Show, a rare jailhouse interview with Dylann Roof. Here’s a sample of that exclusive interview:
Mr. Roof, why is the liberal media trying to make you look a bad guy? Afterall the Charleston AME church members were no angels.”
As I mentioned above, Megyn Kelly’s next big ionterview is with J.D. Vance the author of Hillbilly Elegy. I was just doing a little reading and this is article sure makes some things clear about Vance.
Here is the part I found interesting when you consider this book is seen as a political work and tries to explain the thinking in Appalachia.
The Guardian - Hillbilly Elegy author JD Vance on Barack Obama: ‘We dislike the things we envy’
The book finishes before it can tell the next chapter of Vance’s life: his relocation to Silicon Valley and his move, around April of last year, from the biotech firm to Mithril Capital, the venture capitalist firm founded by controversial billionaire Peter Thiel.
I ask Vance how he got the job. He says he met Thiel during a talk the tech entrepreneur gave at Yale and emailed him years later asking for work. “It was that simple,” he says.
Thiel has become a pariah in liberal Silicon Valley after backing Trump and aiding his presidential transition. Vance, who did not vote for Trump, says he’s never had a meaningful discussion with his boss about the incoming president. He insists Thiel’s reputation is unfounded, claiming he is “super thoughtful and incredibly nice”.
His view on the Bay Area is more conflicted, confessing that the unflinching optimism he sees around him can be “weird”. “This boom is just going to keep on going,” he says, recounting typical San Francisco conversations. “My life is great, my family is great, my job is great, my house is great.”
Hmmmm.

Cry me an Appalachian river 9_9 Thiel is an evil creep who pals around with rich white supremacists and approves of apartheid and wants to harvest the blood of young people to grant him eternal youth.
It’s as if he’s deliberately trying to become some sort of comic supervillain. If anything, his “reputation” among others isn’t nearly bad enough.
re: #41 teleskiguy
It’s not a puff piece, folks. Not by a long shot.

Regulation-hating Arkansas Republican’s day care facility investigated after boy dies inside hot van
“An Arkansas lawmaker who owns a day care where a child died in a hot van previously fought a proposal that might have saved the boy’s life.
State Rep. Dan Sullivan (R-Jonesboro) is the chief executive officer of Ascent, a child care organization where 5-year-old Christopher Gardner died last week after spending eight hours strapped in a booster seat as the heat index soared over 100 degrees, reported KATV-TV.
Four employees of the West Memphis facility have been charged with manslaughter in the boy’s death.
“Staff did not follow company policies and procedures, and if they had, this tragedy would not have occurred,” Sullivan said in a statement.
He later offered to pay the boy’s funeral expenses, but the family declined.”
What a guy.

The piece focuses on Jones’ legitimacy in re: Fuckface Von Clownstick. That’s worth considering. FVC has legitimized Jones, and the piece points out that fact over and over. I remind you that FVC is President of the United States.

I’ll admit, I was furious when I found out Megyn Kelly was doing a piece on Alex Jones.

I will also admit that I’ve softened my stance considerably, as of now. Watch the piece, it’s way less worse than anyone of us were expecting. In fact, it’s rather persuasive *against* everything Alex Jones stands for.

I watched a video form another site. I think it was a YouTube. So, no hit for NBC or Megyn hopefully. I don’t know if it was even a full video of the interview.
What I saw was a full of shit Jones. Kelly did ask some decent questions and tried to hold him on his answers, but he moved around like the snake he is. He really grows weak when pressured. To the point he was trying to say he was just asking questions or talking about what he hears from others. Big tough guy isn’t that tough.
He also tried to downplay the Trump connection and whether they are friends. I thought that weird as you would think he would go big on being recognized by Trump.
I don’t know about all y’all, but when JJ MacNab (@jjmacnab) says “you need to watch this!” I tend to listen.
