I think Trump’s “plan” is to get the NATO countries to buy American weapons. Putin’s is to disrupt NATO so he can move into the Ukraine and the Baltics and then maybe the Balkins. Trump won’t care because they’re barely a cut above shithole countries and while they are populated with white people, they’re of the Eastern European variety which every racist knows is less worthy than the Northern Europeans

“Their philosophy is money and power. That’s the philosophy of Putin. He rules with an iron hand. He’s a dictator,” Kennedy said. He noted there’s “no free press” in Russia and said there’s a vast gap in wealth between the elites and ordinary Russians. He said the Russian people “deserve better.”

Another good one by David Corn:
In 1938, Winston Churchill published a collection of his speeches warning that his homeland was not adequately contending with the threat posed by Nazi Germany. The title: “While England Slept.” Eighty years later, a similar observation can be rendered concerning the United States. Much of the political and media elite and the citizenry seem to be sleepwalking past a horrific and fundamental fact: The current president of the United States has helped to cover up a serious attack on the nation. This profound act of betrayal has gone unpunished and, in many quarters, unnoticed, even as it continues. With Donald Trump about to meet Vladimir Putin on Monday—rewarding the thuggish authoritarian Russian leader with a grand summit in Helsinki—this is an appropriate moment to remember that their dark bromance involves a mutual stonewalling of wrongdoing.
Though the US intelligence community, most of Trump’s top national security aides, and Republican and Democratic congressional leaders have all agreed with the assessment that Putin’s regime mounted information warfare against the United States in 2016 to cause discord during the election and help Trump win the White House, Trump has continued to assist Putin’s brazen campaign of denial. Two weeks ago, Trump, in a tweet, gave credence to Putin’s claim that Moscow did not intervene in the election. “Russia continues to say they had nothing to do with Meddling in our Election!” Trump maintained. Instead, Trump insisted, the real scandal was that the Democratic National Committee in 2016 did not hand over to the FBI its servers, which were hacked by Russian intelligence. This server business is a phony Fox News-fueled scandal; the DNC provided copies of its servers to the bureau. And even if there were anything untoward about the server matter, it still would pale in comparison to a foreign adversary assaulting an American election with hacks and the dissemination of stolen material……

Rachel Maddow show had me transfixed about the history of Russian spies, their techniques and the FBI figuring it all out and letting the Russians run as we gather.
And she then led to Peter Strzok who just happened to be one of the FBI’s top Russian counter-intelligence specialists, if not the best…since he headed that department. And because he headed the department, naturally the Russian investigation was given to him and his crew to work on.
That was a lot no one has covered in that manner.
And then she talked about his big day tomorrow with the public hearing of Strzok versus the House Investigation Committee. I forgot about that.
Rachel surmised the Republicans think they can make Strzok look bad in their 11 hour grilling. And then Rachel said that might be optimistic as Strzok is no dummy and very much wants to talk.
Sounds like another Hillary type grilling where the inquisitors might end up doing the sweating.
Looks like tomorrow is going to be real interesting. I wonder what all will spill out in that testimony? Will Jimmy Jordan be the big watery sweat machine?

When Sandy Hook happened and nobody on the right even so much as flinched at the thought of elementary school children being murdered by a rogue with a gun, I knew that there was no hope for gun control in America. Really, that should have been the tipping point for anyone with a shred of sanity left in their body - and the fact that we accomplished nothing significant after that says it all for the overall sanity of America.

Exactly. But, he also can’t say a lot as the Mueller investigation goes on.
It does seem what Rachel was getting at is he will be more than prepared to lay out exactly why he was the one with the Russian investigation that will make Nunes, Jordan and Meadows look like rank amateurs as far as knowing how the FBI works.
And he will probably point out how they have ruined his career as one of the FBI’s best and he should have been above any question by political stunt creators like the Freedom Caucus.

First Israeli Spacecraft to Head to Moon on Back of Elon Musk’s SpaceX Rocket
The first Israeli spacecraft planned to land on the Moon will be launched in December, the SpaceIL initiative behind the craft announced on Tuesday. The plan is for the spacecraft to land on the Moon on February 13, 2019, after a two-month trip.
The SpaceIL organization is participating in the Google Lunar XC Prize competition to land the first privately funded unmanned spacecraft on the Moon. Even though the competition officially ended with no winner at the end of March this year, after a number of extensions to the deadline for the $30 million in cash prizes, the competition still continues without the cash.
But SpaceIL continued to develop its spaceship, which it began to build in 2013 in cooperation with Israel Aeronautics Industries. The spacecraft will be launched from Cape Canaveral in Florida on a Falcon 9 rocket built by Elon Musk’s SpaceX company. The spacecraft will separate from its two-stage launch rocket at a height of 60,000 kilometers above the earth, where it will enter an elliptical orbit around the earth, which will expand slowly until the craft is captured by lunar gravity.
…
One of the goals of the project is to create an “Apollo Effect” in Israel, referring to the enthusiasm that began in the United States, and around the world, that encouraged scientific research after the first Apollo Moon landing in 1969, said billionaire businessman Morris Kahn, who provided the major part of the funding for SpaceIL, at Tuesday morning’s press conference.
