“Intelligent Toilet”? What if it decides it doesn’t like you pissing and shitting in it all the time? This is the kind of thing that could trigger the Robot Apocalypse.

Another point - why put the toilet paper behind you? If you can afford $7000 for a toilet, you’re probably not young enough to be that flexible.

I don’t want any kind of smart appliances in my house. I prefer my house remain dumb… probably the result of too much science fiction over the years.

From the CL’d thread, just in case:

re: #386 BlueGrl21

I genuinely did not know. Thank you very much for telling me.

He took pictures in the field. I have over 100 pictures of that bridge when it was found, the pontoon bridge he worked on, and the bridge after it collapsed. He loved talking about it. He died when I was 10.

Oh. My. God.

Please talk to either the Army or the Smithsonian.

Get those pictures saved for our Children.

That is a treasure trove for future historians. Please get them saved properly. His memory deserves it. Oh, lord, one of the men who ran across that bridge knowing it could blow out from under them at any second even as they disabled the German explosives? Yeah, that was one of the US Army’s finest moments in the war.

For that price, it should gently wash it and dry with a luxurious towel, then pull your pants back up for you.

Hey, Ben Shapiro says Bitcoin is an excellent hedge against inflation or government action!

Though I imagine if that government action is to shut down the internet, it would be a lot less useful.

It’s been a while since I mocked those paranoid preppers who somehow think that gold is a good hedge against societal collapse. Imagine how much more ridiculous bitcoin would be in this situation:

In a post-apocalyptic society, I imagine bartering will determine the new currency of the realm - likely edible food and clean water, etc. Like the Biblical concept of heaven, stockpiling what is valuable now in anticipation of it being valuable later is the height of foolishness.

Boss told me and a coworker to take the rest of the day off at noon to go skiing. She took a couple of bitchin’ pictures of me skiing.

Yes, I am freeheel skiing backwards in the second photo. 😀

That top one has some New Mexico sky in it. It often travels north.

There was a rumor from the White House that this speech will be largely incoherent. I am not sure what that means when considering Mr. Trump.

I’ve read sourced reports today both that Miller is writing it and that Trump is writing it. Neither option is really good. There’s a lot of reporting that this is about generating support rather than declaring the “national emergency”. We’ll see how that goes…

That was when they said Stephen Miller was writing it.
GOP sources say Stephen Miller is writing Trump’s border wall speech, and it is not “coherent”

Nah. Somehow people are reluctant to go up to the live thread.

Here’s something to take your minds off the Trump thing. Jordan Reeves is a 13-year-old who has only one hand. Her left arm ends just below the elbow. While still in elementary school, she started designing prostheses for her left arm that do a variety of actions. Some are quite clever.

Anyway, she has a book coming out. And she’s 13.
