Occupy LA, The ADL, and Bradblog
Occupy Los Angeles, or someone posting at their blog, has mounted a defense of themselves in response to ADL concern about anti-Semitism at the event.
I spotted this on Daniel Ballard’s page, and had some comment on it…then I clicked on the link they had at the bottom of the page, and got this.
Brad Friedman’s piece is titled U.S. Israel Lobby Little More Than GOP Front Group, and it proceeds to state:
This is just shameful. As a Jew (if not a particularly practicing one), watching how the American-Israel lobby gives a horrible name to Israel (and Jews for that matter) becomes more embarrassing every day. And since Republicans have decided to make believe that Obama is “vulnerable on Israel” —- they will say anything for perceived political gain, no matter whether it’s actually true or not —- I suspect this sort of thing is only going to get shamefully worse as the 2012 election nears.
Now, to the extent that the right is currently trying to insist, as they have for years now, that Obama hates Israel, I must concur. But Brad then goes on to a long, detailed analysis linking AIPAC to the Koch Brothers, the GOP, and anyone else he thinks his audience may think is icky.
It’s interesting that AIPACs ties and work with Democrats are apparently irrelevent here, and also that it’s interesting that Occupy LA’s ‘helpful link’ about understanding their little problem with anti-Semitism takes you not to an article on the trouble keeping bigots out of big open rallies, but to one suggesting that anyone who suggests that anti-Semitism might be systemic problem is connected to the Israel Lobby, which is ‘little more than a GOP front group’. This is an open attempt to cast themselves as victims, and smear anyone who suggests they could do more as a GOP dupe and/or operative.
Which is interesting, because I was just getting to the point where I felt they were actually doing a pretty good job with not letting anti-Semites and kooks in to set agenda.
Some comments from the OLA blog:
The 99% are antisemites. Where does that leave the 1% who aren’t. Now what if all the 99% expressed their ‘antisemitism’ openly and publically. What will the 1% do? ADL is part of the 1% and so are it’s supplicant submissive ‘apologists’ against the right to express whatever one thinks about anything?
Think about it. Lots of Jews are not among the 1% which latter aren’t ‘antisemites’. Didn’t mean anyone to be left out. The 99% is the 99% (maybe slightly diluted with 1%ers). The 1% aren’t all ‘semites’ either, but that doesn’t matter. If you oppose the 1% you are an antisemite by the very nature of top% of the 1%, who must deflect from their power-elite status by cloaking themselves with the charge of antisemitism when they are exposed and opposed.

The woman is correct (and courageous) to note who (mostly) control banking. The same control can be attributed to the same group of the mass media and Hollywood. Try getting elected to Congress without pledging allegiance to Israel. It won’t happen.
A disproportionate influence has been successfully created by conditioning us not to criticize any Jews lest we be labeled “anti-semites”. Even a former legislator in Israel knows this to be a diversion…a trick:
Look who have been the gatekeepers of investigations into 9/11. WHO are being protected by mass media and Hollywood in the cover-up of what really happened on 9/11? WHO benefitted by 9/11 and would demonize the muslim civilization arising out of the lies of 9/11.

What could be more obvious? We should, as Americans, be able to stand up to groups that are subverting our democracy. One such group is the Zionists, who have overtaken our journalists, our bankers, our political establishment, and our most prestigious educational institutions, all in trying to bring to Israel all the power it needs to have the power it needs to accomplish its Zionist agenda: the ethnic cleansing of the Palestine region.

JEW ARE ON A MISSION. THEY ARE USING OUR COUNTRY IN THEAR INTERESTS. IN 5-10 YEARS A LOT OF PEOPLE WOULD BE SURPRISED TO SEE THE TRUTH ABOUT , WHO IS WHO
Interesting. They claim that people like this are going to be asked to ‘find a different venue’, but in the meantime that venue seems to be their blog.
