So will there be a black doctor before there’s a black James Bond? (Idris Elba, yo.)

Possibly. The average Doctor lasts 3 years, which means we will be doing this again in 2016-2017.

However, either a redhead or a British African as The Doctor would be a big deal. Both have histories of Discrimination within the United Kingdom to the current day.

Unfortunately, South Park introduced Americans to the anti-redhead tropes from the UK, and there has been an increase of BS they have to deal with here.

Judge Lynn Cook-Stanhope said on Friday she was satisfied the teenagers had taken responsibility for their actions, and she saved her scathing remarks for the animated television show South Park, which she called a “vulgar, socially irreverent program that contributes nothing to society.”

Unfortunately, the writers and producers of the show will never be called to account for encouraging such action, the judge added.

Or this:

Three boys have been arrested for allegedly bullying red-haired students after a Facebook message inspired by “South Park” promoted “Kick a Ginger Day” at a Southern California middle school.

Los Angeles County sheriff’s spokesman Steve Whitmore said Monday that two 12-year-olds were arrested for suspicion of misdemeanor battery, and a 13-year-old was booked for misdemeanor cyber bullying.

Loathsome show, South Park is.

Really, I would be okay with all but one of the names being thrown out there.

I do not want Russell Tovey as the 12th. He is what has been wrong with Pop Culture recently. Between playing a Twilight-esque Werewolf in Being Human and his part in Him and Her, which the quote below will describe. From Wikipedia:

Series 1 (2010) - Becky and Steve are happy to spend their days watching DVDs in Steve’s bedsit, but they’re constantly interrupted by Dan, the lonely bloke from upstairs, Laura and Paul, Becky’s sister and her fiancé, and most frightening for Steve, Becky’s parents.

Series 2 (2011) - Becky moves into Steve’s place permanently. Their relationship blossoms above the nitty gritty of living together, but there’s trouble on the horizon. Becky’s sister Laura and her friend Shelly have become best mates with Steve’s ex-girlfriend. Dan, the lonely bloke from upstairs, is back with his girlfriend. And Laura’s fiancé Paul is up to his old tricks again.

Series 3 (2012) - Steve contemplates proposing to Becky, but struggles to find the right moment. Becky’s sister Laura is pregnant, and is letting everyone know about it, whilst her fiancé Paul is still up to no good and has taken a sudden interest into going to Pilates. Meanwhile, the relationship between Shelly and Dan continues to blossom.

Series 4 (2013) - The final series which will be entirely set during Laura’s wedding.

Yeah, not wanting this guy. Most everyone else sounds okay, though I would want Domhnall Gleeson to stop smoking.

Ian McKellen. With long grey beard.

That’s all… ;)

I just have never been a big Smith fan. Maybe it’s the scripts, but I’ve just never thought he did the part justice, and Amy Pond just ruined things for me (a lot of that was also that she was getting ridiculous lines in the script as well). I’d actually like to see them go back to an older doctor for a bit, but I’m guessing the time for that has probably long gone.

Did I miss a sarcasm tag?

The Ginger Day episode is entirely about how completely stupid and arbitrary prejudice is. It’s not even the subtext of the episode, it’s the text.

Blaming the show for the persecution of gingers is like blaming Newtown on violent video games.

I am ready for an older Doctor as well. I don’t want teenaged companions either. I liked most of the recent companions, but the best in my opinion was Donna. The episode with the Ood is one of my favorites. A relationship like that gives much more room for humor and the Doctor or companion can fall in random love with passing aliens, etc. if someone needs some romance. This is a show I watch with my Dad, kids and grandchildren. It isn’t a show for teenagers.

Smith has been my Doctor. So, Christmas will suck. However, I will admit that For Series 6B and Series 7A, the show was adrift without any huge direction. The last half season though was awesome.

re: #7 Majacita

I want a young-ish Doctor. Like the age of Tennant when he started. To go younger than Matt Smith when he started will be damn near impossible.

The only thing I regret about last series was we only had a half season of the 11th + Clara. The combination of Matt Smith and Jenna Louise Coleman has been a joy to watch. Amy and Rory should have left at the end of Series 6. Though, then we wouldn’t have had Mark Williams on Doctor Who, and his appearances in the show were, I thought great. To be honest there were issues with RTD that did crimp on my enjoyment of Tennant’s Doctor. Biggest of which was the Threat Escalation that, by the time of Series 4 and the Specials, was insane.

Moffat has dialed it back down a touch. The real issue here is the fact Moffat is a good writer, but not a good showrunner. RTD was the opposite.

re: #6 AntonSirius

South Park is generally a trashy show. The low production values also happen to make it look like that too. Aside from the Redhead thing, I have numerous other issues with the show.

This is a joke too, right?

Is it time to ‘think the unthinkable’ again PLL, this time about the UK?

Loathsome show, South Park is.

There is a character on South Park called Cartman. He’s grotesquely self-centred and frequently tries to whip the town into a genocidal frenzy, (when he isn’t piously exploiting religious sentimentality for ulterior selfish motives).

Just sayin’.

Britain has a history of Redhead issues. It’s a thing. Of course, their is a societal context for this. Yes, I admit getting a bit over the top with the redhead comment. But Britain has an odd foible in this regard.

And South Park is a crude show that acts as a propaganda vehicle for Parker and Stone’s ideas, political or otherwise. It simply grates at me. And the animation is simply crap, to add to that.
