Singer David Broza visited Sderot and the surrounding communities on Monday, to entertain the residents of the Kassam-beaten region.

Broza told The Jerusalem Post that he sang for the people of Yad Mordechai and Nativ Ha'asara, and on Friday he went to Ein Hashlosha and Talmei Yosef. He has a full schedule for the rest of the week, he added.

"This is not a reserve duty for me - it's true Israeliness," he said, "I give them a one-hour time-out - I bring them together after many days spent indoors, not knowing who left and who stayed. This is how they know they are not alone. I am the glue."

Broza said the people he met seemed tired and unhappy. "They are scared because they just don't know how it will end this time," he added.

ObamaMessiahWatch OT: via Jay Nordlinger's "Impromptus" at NRO -

Some lizards in an earlier thread mentioned "A Prairie Home Companion". Nordlinger notes that in a pre-holiday "Prairie Home...", guest Renee Fleming sang "In the Bleak Midwinter". This Christmas song is, naturally, about the birth of Jesus. Only this version had the lyrics just a tad rewritten:

In the bleak midwinter
At the Christmas feast
A family leaves Chicago
And travels to the East

For a public mansion
In Washington, D.C.,
In a time of trouble
And festivity.

All across the nation,
Sea to shining sea,
People watch the passage
Of that family.

And our loving wishes
Go out to them there.
All the nation breathes
A silent, hopeful prayer.

Now, bow your heads, and pray for Obama's blessing.

/retch

One thing to remember about Netiv Ha'asara, is that after Israel withdrew from Gaza Palestinian "moderate" Mohammed Dahlan said that Israel was still occupying Gaza until/unless it surrendered Netiv Ha'asara too. More anti-Israel goalpost moving.

Wow. Anaheim is across the street from me. I've noticed a handful of muslims since moving here this year--even women in the despicable full body chador, I believe.
I've been nice and non-prejudiced--hey, there is a statistically non-zero chance that they could be moderate or liberal muslims who despise terror, even against jews.
If I run into someone with a sign like this, I'll give them a piece of my mind, though, belive me.

It seems that, like other things, they are taking it in stages.

Stage 1: What jihad? We don't do jihad. That is only a tiny minority of people distorting the religion.
Stage 2: Okay, we DO say jihad all the time. You caught us. But it only means peaceful internal struggle.
Stage 3: Okay, fine, we mean violence. But only justified violence against our oppressors as we fight for justice.
Stage 4: You're questioning our use of the word jihad? Die!

All over the Bay Area are cars with the following stickers all together on one bumper:

C-o-e-x-i-s-t (each letter a different religious symbol)
God bless the world -- NO EXCEPTIONS
BOYCOTT ISRAEL
Impeach Bush for War Crimes
Friends don't let friends vote Republican
...etc.

Americans will get bored with them as soon as the MSM has another short term spasm about something else.

The silent majority looks at these Hamas supporters.....actually, scratch that.....this has more to do with their hatred of Joos and America (controlled by Joos) than it does their love of Hamas.

I'd gladly bet a toe that none of these fools has ever donated to one Pali charity.

What are BDS sufferers going to do on Jan. 21?

Art and sole, Ashland style: Patrons toss shoes at Bush image

An Ashland art gallery opened an exhibit with a fundraiser that featured a "shoe throw" at an image of President George Bush.

City Councilor Eric Navickas -- who opened the gallery with partner Amy Godard -- used a roller to slather a layer of red paint on the soles of sneakers, boots and Birkenstocks before people fired them at the 8-foot image of Bush.

rawmuse, regarding our exchange about Earthlink, it was the CEO, Garry Betty, who passed away in 2007. Sky Dayton, the founder, is very much alive. One of the co-founders, Reed Slatkin, is serving 14 years in prison for a Madoff-esque investment fraud scheme.

In other words, he is not a leader. Right or wrong, you have to respect GWB's total lack of care of what people think about him or his policies.

Or Reagan, who didn't change policies to to get approval, but changed minds so people would see his point of view.

If they would just talk... Hamas would say death the Jews and Israel would say we don't want to die.
I think they would still have issues.

Well, it's true that they might be able to sort things out, if they could just talk RATIONALLY. However, one side of the equation is incapable of doing so, being so full of hate that they (apparently) believe Hitler to be a positive societal icon for his treatment of the Jews.

Even if they were to come to some sort of conclusion, I simply don't think Hamas has enough control over its hate-blinded militants to make them stop firing rockets over the border into Israel. When a nation's national pass-time becomes hatred of its neighbor, no amount of talking is going to iron things out.

A New Cigarette Hazard: ‘Third-Hand Smoke’

That’s the term being used to describe the invisible yet toxic brew of gases and particles clinging to smokers’ hair and clothing, not to mention cushions and carpeting, that lingers long after second-hand smoke has cleared from a room. The residue includes heavy metals, carcinogens and even radioactive materials that young children can get on their hands and ingest, especially if they’re crawling or playing on the floor.

The jihad apologists that jihid is inner struggle only I think are mistaken and naive. They like to think of jihad in western terms only. Moderate muslims don't really exist in any real numbers. And they have zero pull within their own religion. Jihad and Islam are defined by terror and violence. The jihad apologists that jihid is inner struggle only I think are mistaken and naive. They like to think of jihad in western terms only. Moderate muslims don't really exist in any real numbers. And they have zero pull within their own religion. Jihad and Islam are defined by terror and violence. It may be a hijacked religion, but it's fundamental principles in action don't give it much of a chance to success. Islam is an ugly production in the world.

Islam was hijacked roughly 1400 years ago by it's founder.

One of my profs told of his experience with a home across the street from a Superfund site. The homeowners were concerned over 'toxic vapours" so they installed a monitor that hovered most of the time around 0. Then one day the homeowner walked in with his dry cleaning. UN to hold open meeting on Gaza
Published: 01.05.09, 22:22 / Israel News
The UN Security Council will hold an open meeting on the fighting in Gaza at midnight, Israel time.

Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni has decided not to take part in the meeting fearing it may be used as a propaganda platform for Arab foreign ministers. Nonetheless, the United States will not allow any one-sided resolutions to be made against Israel. (Yitzhak Benhorin – Washington)

You are assuming that Obama and the Donks will actually relinquish power when it is Constitutionally mandated that they do so. If nothing else, the Franken debacle has to drive home the point that there are really no levels too deep for Democrats to go there in order to hold and consolidate power.

After all, Obama has said that the Constitution is flawed. I'd be willing to bet one of the flaws he's talking about is the term limit for Presidents. Along with parts of the First Amendment and all of the Second...

He wasn't just talking of flaws, he specifically talked about the breaking the constraints:

Your text to link...

Breaking Free from the Constitution

Mr. Obama’s comments take a turn from discussing the historical record. Unprovoked he laments that the Supreme Court “could not break free from the essential constraints placed by the Founding Fathers in the Constitution.” He further describes the Constitution as “a charter of negative liberties.” This is at odds with the preamble to the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

In 1986 Genesis fortold our future
I must've dreamed a thousand dreams
Been haunted by a million screams
I can hear the marching feet
They're moving into the street.

Now did you read the news today
They say the danger's gone away
But I can see the fire's still alight
Burning into the night.

Too many men
Too many people
Making too many problems
And not much love to go round
Can't you see
This is a land of confusion.

This is the world we live in
And these are the hands we're given
Use them and let's start trying
To make it a place worth living in.

Superman where are you now
Everything's gone wrong somehow
The men of steel, men of power
Are losing control by the hour.

This is the time
This is the place
So we look for the future
But there's not much love to go round
Tell me why, this is a land of confusion.

[ Genesis Lyrics are found on [Link: www.songlyrics.com...] ]
This is the world we live in
And these are the hands we're given
Use them and let's start trying
To make it a place worth living in.

I remember long ago -
When the sun was shining
The stars were bright
All through the night
And the sound of your laughter
As I held you tight
So long ago -

I won't be coming home tonight
My generation will put it right
We're not just making promises
That we know, we'll never keep.

Too many men
Too many people
Making too many problems
And not much love to go round
Can't you see
This is a land of confusion.

This is the world we live in
And these are the hands we're given
Use them and let's start trying
To make it a place worth fighting for.

This is the world we live in
And these are the names we're given
Stand up and let's start showing
Just where our lives are going to.

OK, this is bizarre. I've just discovered a new kind of "troll jihad." I'll call this one:

Comment Kidnapping

Here's how it works. Someone goes to a thread a zomblog. Then they make a post about it at their blog (semi-literately attempting to criticize me).

But -- what's this? The guy has 212 comments on his thread at his blog! I didn't realize how popular his site was.

Then take a second look. First read the first few comments on my thread (top link above). Then read the first few comment in the other guy's thread (second link above). Notice anything?

THEY'RE THE SAME COMMENTS!

The guy has kidnapped my comments and come up with some kind of script to copy them in toto onto his blog, to make him seem as well-read and popular as the blog he's criticizing.

Anybody ever seen this trick before? Does it have a name (other than "Comment kidnapping"?)

The Constitution is expressly and overtly a document limiting government. It grants very little to the government, and what is not mentioned expressly as a duty of the government it forbids the government from acting outside the Constitution.

That is just pathetic. You know, anyone that googles a comment they remember may hit his site by mistake.

Belmont Club has a thread on this.

The smell is what this is all about. I like it, I know others don't. Tough shit. I'll keep my smoke away from people, but they will have to deal with the smell, just as I have to deal with the smell of coconut oil on hair, perfumes, body washes, colognes, aftershaves, etc all of which bother me. But do I complain? Hell do. Do you hear me complaining? Never. Morons bother me too. But the waiter always manages to sit me next to a table full of them. ;-)>

Third-hand smoke is what one smells when a smoker gets in an elevator after going outside for a cigarette, he said, or in a hotel room where people were smoking. “Your nose isn’t lying,” he said. “The stuff is so toxic that your brain is telling you: ’Get away.’” …

First Cat Dies

The Bushes' 18-year-old female black American Shorthair died Sunday at home in the Executive Mansion.

Named by a then-9-year-old Barbara Bush, the cat, who was also called "Kitty" by the family, was given the name "India" after the former Texas Ranger baseball player, Ruben Sierra, who was called El Indio.

When they went off to college, Barbara and Jenna left India at the White House with President and Mrs. Bush.

"India was a beloved member of the Bush family for almost two decades. She will be greatly missed," said the first lady's press secretary Sally McDonough.

You know... of all the jihadis, there are two in particular who are notably quiet about the situation in Gaza.

And you'd think that they'd be out front leading the charge against Israel and the West.

You know who I'm talking about:

Ayman al Zawahiri and Osama bin Laden.

Both are notable by their silence. Having problems getting their videos out from the undisclosed locations near the ninth plane of Hell or the NWFP (interchangeable under certain circumstances as a little know fact is that Hell can freeze over)? Or dead? Or that they simply can't muster up the words? Or splice together the video to make an even passable new audio?

Silence is usually golden, but in this case, it speaks volumes.

To be honest, I do not like the smell of cigarettes, a nice pipe sure and a good cigar is not what the janitor smokes but on the sidewalk or at a building entrance I think smoking is rude. My point is that if it is your house or business then you should be free to make your rules. To me seatbelt laws are unjustified but if you get in a car I am driving then you will buckle up.

That does not make me a Libertarian I'd think, merely I'd hope courteous.

Sa’id Jalili, the very important secretary of the “Supreme National Security Council,” hit the airwaves of Al Manar TV to call on “the Arab and Islamic countries and other countries that have an independent will” to fight for a Hamas victory in Gaza and deliver a forceful blow to “the Zionist entity.”

If that is the case, then we have a nice Iranian Islamist sympathizer in Anaheim.

Fantastic investment idea...People who don't have the money to gamble, and should buy let's say FOOD or pay for shelter buy a .000000000001 % or less chance at winning something more than their ticket. Very smart.

Yeah, I don't lose sleep over it. The entire tax system is so convoluted and corrupt that any tax is a stupidity tax at some level. Heck, between Rengal and Emanuel tax evasions, I'm nothing but a patsy. The lottery is where I draw the line. It's just a sad way for the state to get money.

I think that was Hamas. They were buying cigarettes in North Carolina and shipping them North where the taxes were higher.

Thank you IronFist for fact checking me.

Yes, Hamas is funded partly by cigarette sales in the US.

Sorry, ain't ever going to buy that disgusting stuff.

The Republicans should go ape and threaten to shut down the entire government if Franken is seated. They will cave.

The last time the republicans threatened to shut down the govt (Newt Gingrich ca 1996) it backfired big time. Not recommended at all.

A large percentage of the American people, especially the ones that have been educated since the early 1970's in public schools really don't care anything about the US Constitution. The American way is whimsy to them. They don't care, period.

Which is especially sad because everything we are, everything America means, is in that Constitution. Other countries have their ethnicity, or their culture, or their land. But America isn't the land between our borders. America could happen on the moon. And it isn't any of those other things.

America is the Constitution. The President doesn't promise to protect America, but to protect the Constitution.

P.S. Who wants to bet that the authors of the study own stock in a company that sells Third-Hand Smoke Removers?

On the other hand, maybe I shouldn't be too hard on the doctors -- even though this "third-hand smoke" business is jive, anything that gives smokers additional incentive to quit (or failing that, to cut their cigarette usage by, say, 80%, and sticking with it) is probably a good idea.

Understood. Folks are free to be stupid and - hypocrit that I am - I have played on occassion. It's one of my pet peeves - like people saying "intensive purposes" instead of "intents and purposes."

Punitive cigarette taxes are not good, either, and that's what made me think about the lottery, which is just wrong, IMO.

If we must have a lottery, I'd rather a private company did it and they paid income tax, but that's just my fantasy world.

That was the day the Repubs began losing calcium in their spines. A large portion of the US population were behind them. But they caved like they have ever since. Slow-motion calcium breakdown.

Anybody ever seen this trick before? Does it have a name (other than "Comment kidnapping"?)

Bizarre.

Speaking as someone that can go for days without getting a single comment on my blog, I have nothing but admiration and just a ~little~ touch of envy for someone that can write and research well enough to draw that kind of support.

But hijacking comments? Pretty pitiful.

Ha ha ask Washington state and NY state about that. All them ex-smokers have produced a tax shortfall that non-smokers will now have to make up because they threw the smokers under the bus when approving new taxes. ;-)>

Given what "education" has devolved to, the fact that lottery money "supports education"--somewhat--is no recommendation.

In Georgia, they closed the "escape clauses" and virtually 100% (shy operating expenses) of lottery money does go to education. At $2 a week, it is the cheapest entertainment around. lol

Norm Coleman is too good for Minnesota obviously. May he get a better job somewhere soon.

It was Coleman who publiclly took on Gorgeous George the Scottish friend of Saddam Hussein & member of British Parliament who took Oil for Food chits from Saddam Hussein, in the biggest rip off of UN AID in history.

That's right. Had completely forgotten about Norm's Fillet de George. Agree Minnesota can't handle the truth...So they got themselves a dandy just like Galloway, only uglier.

Great. I live in Fullerton. The adjacent town. There is a growing Islamic neighborhood in central Anaheim, much like Garden Grove was years ago with the Vietnamese folks. The difference between these neighborhoods is night and day, and clearly illustrated by this picture. The Vietnamese who moved to Garden Grove and Westminster love America and are protectors of liberty. A few years ago, a store owner who sold a commie rag was called out and made to account for his support of Communism. He was not treated well by the public....

There was a "classic" from the Toronto "mobs for peace" scene, broadcast on the nightly "news" -- showed one "pacifist" dressed up in his Keffiyeh pali scarf (coward's face covered, of course), as said coward hurled snowballs at the police...and the "announcer" was yammering on about said "peace demonstration." yeah, sure...a gang of violent mobsters throwing/hurling projectiles at the police is now defined as "pacifists"...

769 tyree  Mon, Jan 5, 2009 11:16:44pm

lsuchamps03 asked, "I had no idea there were so many jihadis in Anaheim. What's the population there? Anyone know?"

The population of the city is around 300,000. The muslim population numbers around ten thousand or so. We have a beautiful mosque, full of many hate filled people, apparently. When a community gets Change, it is not always for the better. Change for the worse forced on a community by outsiders hurts way more than the 9 Percenters in Washington can understand, with all the bribes and corruption keeping them busy.
Protests like this were extremely rare when I was growing up. The worse one was when a few dozen American Communists showed up to protest the Chinese Ambassador when he visited Disneyland in the 1970's. Now we have been changed from a law abiding conservative place were people were happy to a refuge for angry Jew-hating and America bashing thugs. When I was a child everyone spoke English and we were all proud to be called Americans, now my grandson is the only one in his kindergarten class who is not in English as A Second Language classes and mine is the only house in the neighborhood that flies the flag on national holidays. Thanks for the "diversity", Washington DC, but next time, keep the Change.

Robert Spencer takes a little passive aggressive slap at me (without naming me) in his latest column for FrontPage, by the way. Which is always pleasant. "Imaginary neofascists," is the quote.

What a complete despicable fool he's become.

That's rich, calling Spencer a fool. Through his anti-jihad speeches, commentary and books, it's proven fact that he is not a fool.

Please come down off your high horse.
