Hamas Getting Real?

Middle East • Views: 2,816

The thugs of Hamas are trying to create the impression that they’re a real army, with a “probe” that’s supposed to ‘unveil military failings over Gaza’.

LONDON (AFP) – Hamas has launched a probe which is expected to be extremely critical of the failures of its military wing during the recent Gaza offensive, the respected Jane’s Defence Weekly magazine said Monday.

Citing an unnamed top Hamas military commander, Jane’s said a full report due soon would be critical of almost every decision taken by battlefield commanders during the 22-day assault, which ended last week.

The source quoted by Jane’s added that Hamas leader Khaled Mashaal and his followers had effectively pushed for a conflict that it was not ready for. The report will highlight the losses of interior minister Said Siam and around 50 of Hamas’s top explosives experts as among the most significant.

In a way, this is progress; Arab states normally react to military defeats by denying everything, covering up the failures, and proclaiming glorious victory. If Hamas actually starts being honest with themselves, Israel could be in serious trouble.

Why Arabs Lose Wars

Arabic-speaking armies have been generally ineffective in the modern era. Egyptian regular forces did poorly against Yemeni irregulars in the 1960s.1 Syrians could only impose their will in Lebanon during the mid-1970s by the use of overwhelming weaponry and numbers.2 Iraqis showed ineptness against an Iranian military ripped apart by revolutionary turmoil in the 1980s and could not win a three-decades-long war against the Kurds.3 The Arab military performance on both sides of the 1990 Kuwait war was mediocre.4 And the Arabs have done poorly in nearly all the military confrontations with Israel. Why this unimpressive record? There are many factors—economic, ideological, technical—but perhaps the most important has to do with culture and certain societal attributes which inhibit Arabs from producing an effective military force.

It is a truism of military life that an army fights as it trains, and so I draw on my many years of firsthand observation of Arabs in training to draw conclusions about the ways in which they go into combat. The following impressions derive from personal experience with Arab military establishments in the capacity of U.S. military attaché and security assistance officer, observer officer with the British-officer Trucial Oman Scouts (the security force in the emirates prior to the establishment of the United Arab Emirates), as well as some thirty year’s study of the Middle East.

5 mean Gene  Mon, Jan 26, 2009 12:03:55pm

Why?
Are the money bags behind Hamas demanding results?
They do better with failure.
With failure comes international money, international sympathy, international alignment against that big, bad Israel.
With success (as Yasser Arafat knew) comes the need to rule, to take care of the infrastructure, the schools, the sick, the elderly, the poor.
What military commander in his right mand wants that when perpetual war is available……for free?

6 MJ  Mon, Jan 26, 2009 12:04:19pm

One hopes that if Hamas actually starts being honest with themselves, they will admit that there is no possible way that they can ever rid the Mideast of Israel… and that the best they can hope for is to hang on to their little patch of Hamastan.

It wouldn’t be so hard, ideologically: they’d just have to redefine Israel as the sole ghetto for the Mideast’s Jews and themselves as the frontline enforcers of the ghetto walls. If they can wangle financial aid from Israel for humanitarian purposes, they can tell themselves it’s a jizya tax, and the fiction will be complete.

33 lawhawk  Mon, Jan 26, 2009 12:08:38pm

The military failings? Are you kidding me?

They’re really wondering how they didn’t win the propaganda war as soundly as Hizbullah did in 2006. They’re going to have to figure out how to better control the media on the ground, and get better doctors to run faux codes so that it’s more difficult to detect the propaganda.

What’s far more likely is that Iran is asking questions of Hamas in Gaza as to why they were more successful in killing Joos. They’ll want to know why more Grads weren’t fired, and why those that were didn’t kill or maim as many Joos as possible.

They’ll wonder why Hamas didn’t take even more advantage of using UN positions from which to fire on Israeli soldiers within Gaza or use Gazan schools as launching pads. They’ll wonder where all the money Iran spent on weapons, equipment, and training went.

At the same time, Hamas is busy rebuilding the tunnels and terror infrastructure, while still downplaying the beating that their personnel took. The media is still helping them on that front.

Kragar, I remember back in the day when I was at Sheppard AFB doing my med tech training. We had ALOT of arabs there for assorted skills training. They wouldnt come to class, didnt take things seriously and mostly seemed more concerned with womanizing, shopping, and staying inebriated. Rumor had it that alot of them knew the US wouldnt fail them because they’d be beheaded upon returning home. We had some Saudi jackass (no doubt a member of their ruling tribe) go AWOL for 2 months. He got busted in NYC if I remember correctly. They still graduated him.
I wouldnt be too worried about the Saudi or Kuwaiti armies. Its the gulf armies from Qatar and the Emriates who are more up to par. Thats just because they use mercenaries. Most of the Omani AF officers I saw were british expats ex RAF etc.

The problem is that the Palestinians have raised martyrdom to such a level in their society that they have a population and an army that wants to die instead of win. Whenever they find a dead baby to wave in front of the cameras they consider it a victory. When they suffer losses more than 20 to one agaisnt the Israelis they consider it a victory. It’s a lousy military tactic.

Hamas probably wants better missiles next time.
They will be getting them through the tunnels to Egypt.
The more important it is to really eradicate the tunnels between Egypt en Gaza.
Egypt is not doing enough to prevent that partly because of corruption, partly because a lot of Egyptians support Hamas.
This eradication will only happen if America is forcing Egypt to allow for example foreign tunnel-experts to find and destroy them.
America is the only one who could actually pressure Egypt to do more.
If Hamas cannot get new weapons they will be just powerless.

The first and foremost assumption is that there is an actual Hamas army instead of a bunch of psychopathic leaders telling Muslims to kill the Jews.

In other words, Hamas (read: Iran) is going to ask why Hamas isn’t more like Hizbullah in operational effectiveness in carrying on the proxy war with Israel.

However, it’s worth noting that when a few missiles came out of Lebanon during Operation Cast Lead a couple of weeks ago, Hezbollah rushed to the microphones to declare it had nothing to do with them. It sounds like at least the Second Lebanon War, like Operation Cast Lead, convinced the bad guys that there are, indeed, limits to Israeli restraint and that there are, indeed, painful consequences for pushing Israel past those limits.

There was a fairly well-reasoned piece by Bret Stephens (IIRC) in the WSJ last week, arguing that, despite the non-“finality” of Cast Lead, it was a clear-cut and important Israeli tactical victory, and perhaps a strategic one. Long story short; the lesson here was to re-teach Israel’s enemies what the IDF is capable of; a needed refresher course after the (relatively) mediocre performance in Lebanon in ‘06 (for which I primarily blame the politicians, not the IDF itself).

What that suggests is that Hizbullah didn’t feel that their military preparations were fully in place to deal with an aerial and ground assault by the IDF. They just were biding their time. It also suggests that there was division within Hizbullah leadership as to whether to open a second front or not, and the more pragmatic ones (read: the smarter terrorists) wanted to buy more time before starting another war against Israel. They won out, but don’t expect the hudna to last.

Somehow it reminds me of a joke about early in the history of the Nazi Party in Germany, when one early member was arguing to a Borwnshirt that they should really consider co-opting the Jews, not getting rid of them. “They’re really remarkably clever people,” he argued. “Let me show you.”

He takes his Brownshirt friend into a Jewish-owned ceramics shop. “Watch this,” he says, and goes to the shopkeeper, asking, “Do you have a beer stein? Something simple and plain.”

The shopkeeper holds up an undecorated stein. “A gentleman such as yourself should drink from something finer, but if you insist, this one is only 50 pfennigs.”

The Nazi says, “Ah, but I was looking for a left-handed one.”

The shopkeeper nods and says, “I see, a rare left-handed beer stein. Well, let me see if I have any in back.”

The Nazi nudges his Brownshirt friend. “Now you’ll see.”

The shopkeeper comes out, saying, “The gentleman is indeed lucky! I happened to have this last one in stock! I can let you have it for 75 pfennigs!” And he holds up the same beer stein as before, turned around to present the handle on the other side.

“Excellent! I’ll take it,” says the Nazi.

After they leave the shop, the Nazi turns to his friend and says, “See how clever the Jews was? I ask for a left-handed beer stein and he comes up with one!”

“So?” replies the Brownshirt. “What’s so clever? He just happened to have one in stock!”

I have to imagine that the same principle can be applied with Hamas.

I believe yesterday, in Iceland a large crowd gathered and attempted to storm a police building (they also attacked the Prime Minister — prior to his resignation)…(today the crowd was pepper sprayed)…I guess their “dollar” has been cut in half, and many people’s entire savings are now gone (due to the Icelandic banks doing business with or connected with banks in the UK). There’s an economic meeting in Davos, Switzerland, and word has it that the worst-off (in terms of finances) isn’t actually Iceland, but the UK…

France Sends Its UAV Best To Afghanistan

The MQ-9 Reaper is a 4.7 ton, 36 foot long aircraft with a 66 foot wingspan that looks like the MQ-1. It has six hard points, and can carry 1,500 pounds of weapons. These include Hellfire missiles (up to eight), two Sidewinder or two AMRAAM air-to-air missiles, two Maverick missiles, two 500 pound smart bombs (laser or GPS guided.) Max speed is 400 kilometers an hour, and max endurance is 15 hours. The Reaper is considered a combat aircraft, to replace F-16s or A-10s.

That thing carries more firepower than some ‘heavy bombers’ in WWII.

You’ve got Goody’s, a mid-level clothing store, going out of business here in Knoxville. They’ve been around for something like 50 years, and they are all closing up. It is disquieting.

I think a lot of this is a shakeup in how we as Americans do business. I think the time of the malls and huge anchor stores are about gone, with their long lines, limited parking, and expensive goods. Specialty stores are also going to have a harder time. Caterpillar has some ugly union contracts.

Caterpillar just announced a new plant in AR. A ‘right to work’ state. Should be some nice-paying jobs for Arkies.

Company Leadership
Michael Dell

This followed four years as Deputy Managing Director, during which time he held line responsibility for all commercial activities covering sales, consultancy, marketing, client services, product management and M&A.

During this period he helped to lead Jane’s through its acquisition for $183.5mn by IHS in June 2007. This was followed by the acquisition by IHS of Documental Solutions for $24.5mn in September 2008 and its integration into Jane’s.

He joined Jane’s in 2001 shortly after its acquisition by the Woodbridge Corporation for $110mn. In addition to the roles outlined above, he has been responsible through his career at the company for electronic product development and security editorial.

Previously he was Deputy Managing Editor and then Director of Consultancy and Research at Oxford Analytica; and a bond market analyst at the Union Bank of Switzerland.

The central theme of his career is the commercial development of information, media and consulting businesses as they adapt to the internet-based Information Age.

There is generally a lot of sympathy for dead Jews…Europe, for example just LOVES Holocaust memorials….they have a more nuanced relationship with live Jews, though. Lefties, too. They really have a problem with those of us that just damn well refuse to die or commit suicide. Strange.

It isn’t strange at all. Dead Jews, they can feel sympathy for because they tell themselves, “if just those Jews hadn’t been so stubborn in their religion and traditions, if they’d been enlightened like us, they wouldn’t have died so needlessly.” Live Jews, by contrast, continue to refuse to accept the “gifts” their enlightened neighbors keep trying to shove down our throats. It was even made explicit during the French revolution:

The French conception of the Jews, Mr. Pryce-Jones points out, derives from the French Revolution. Quoting the Conte de Clermont-Tonnerre’s famous saying to the General Assembly, ‘To the Jews as individuals everything, to the Jews as a nation nothing’, he notes that the French attitude toward the Jews is defined by what the French think they ought to be, not by how Jews define themselves.

Odd day in the market.

So far today the following layoffs have been announced:

Caterpillar 20,000
Sprint 8,000
Phillips 6,000
Home Depot 7,000
Pfizer/Wyeth 19,000
Total 60,000

But, the market is in positive territory at the moment.

Everybody is trying to get their bad news out of the way now so they can have a shot at posting a good couple of quarters at the end of this year.

I wonder how many of these jobs - especially Home Depot, Sprint, and Caterpillar were the normal temporary Holiday season jobs?

Scenario:
If Home Depot has stores in every state (according to their site) as well as in 10 Canadian provinces and there are an average of 20 stores per state/province (there are 20 stores withing 100 miles of Los Angeles and another 20 within 100 miles of San Francisco so that makes up for states like MT which only has 5 or 6) then we can extrapolate that there are approximately 1200 stores. Layoffs average six people per store.

Although I cannot qualify that some of these jobs are full time, permanent employees, my guess is that there are a large number of full-time temporary employees who are being laid off.

By “strange”, I’m really trying to say delicately that I know those POS antisemites would rather have me dead (boo hoo hoo) than alive and fighting.

Or alive but not converting to whichever alternative to Judaism and Zionism they hold up as their ideal.

The Christians hate us for not accepting Christ.

The Communists hate us for not all joining the Revolution and for supporting the capitalist West over the anti-imperialist resistance states of the East.

The Muslims hate us for not submitting to Islam or at least bowing down to them as our rulers.

The multiculturalists hate us for keeping our culture separate rather than blending it in with all the other flavors.

The pacifists hate us for fighting back against those who try to kill us.

The gays hate us for tolerating our Orthodox members who disapprove of homosexuality… and because they know they can hate us without fear of being murdered by stoning. (I believe that the sign that the new world of the Messiah has arrived will be a Gay Pride Parade in downtown Mecca.)

It’s human nature to feel fear and distrust of the unfamiliar Other. But when the Other becomes familiar, when you offer it membership in your tribe and it refuses and chooses to stay Other, that’s when real hatred starts.

Janes is an authoritative voice on military affairs and equipment throughout the world. Failure to publish reports on a combat force, even a pissant one, is doing no one a service. It’s not a question of lending credibility, it is a question of reporting their military capabilities.

I searched for “Hamas” and got this.

[Link: www2.janes.com…]

From the query results for “Hamas” at Jane’s, here is an example of Jane’s analysis of a past event. Remember when Hamas kidnapped that BBC journalist? And then released him to get EU praise. Here is what the Jane’s analyst reported:

Alan Johnston’s release will have little or no impact on the wider political disputes in the region, Hamas itself said his release was a moral and humanitarian issue. However, should Hamas deliver on its promise to stabilise Gaza, put an end to kidnappings and re-establish law and order (all actions demanded by Israel and the international community and which many observers think they are eminently capable of achieving) then they will present the West with the dilemma of how long to continue to ignore the group.

The undertone of that is that Hamas are criminal goons who can only present the west with a “dilema” if they actually proved competent at running Gaza.

Doesn’t sound like they are promoting Hamas to me.

286 Ayatollah Ghilmeini  Mon, Jan 26, 2009 12:57:11pm

SUPREME HAMAS COMMAND

Lessons of War With Zionist Entity Enemy

1. Provoking a country with the second most powerful air force in the world is a bad idea.

2. Provoking a country with the most powerful Army in the region is also a bad idea.

3. Surprise attacks suck. The enemy commanders knew what they are doing.

4, Zionist intelligence was better than we thought, they precisely targeted our weapons and leaders.

5, The people of Gaza are overwhelmed at the scope of Hamas’ victory. Some have spontaneously erected giant monuments to our Glorious Victory made of recently ballistically altered concrete; several of our best fighters have permanently decided to remain under these monuments.

6. We successfully managed to avoid most of the political blowback from our war by shooting anything that looked like opposition or Fateh.

7. Our Arab brothers rallied to our cause. Our dear friends in the Egyptian and Saudi governments were really blaming ISrael when they blamed us for the war.

8. Our brothers in Hezbollah and Iran kept their promise to help us in every way other than anything that might take some of the crushing military force directed against us.

9. Operational planning, tactics and communications need to be upgraded, fighting behind children and women was ineffective. The terror tactics our Iranian masters taught us failed miserably. Its almost like the IDF knew what we were going to do before we did it.

10. We lost many of our best leaders and fighters. Replacing them will take time. At no time were our forces able to inflict any real casualties on the IDF that resulted in the loss of any unit larger than 3 soldiers. All efforts to kidnap soldiers failed.

11. Our only reliable allies are the rabble on the streets of Europe and the halls of the UN and stupidity of Ehud Olmert whose term ends in anther couple months.

Conclusion- we completely defeated the Zionists! Our forces are marching to Tel Aviv as we write this. The heroic Palestinian people all support Hamas and pray for us to use our Islamic insight and Iranian money to keep the happiness happening! Our leaders in Damascus are very brave men who were willing to fight the IDF to last leader and soldier in Gaza. Lastly, next time we really need to kill some Jews.

Now they don’t have to write it they can just use this.

The Dreyfus case involved a “Jew as individual”—an assimilated Jew who was made the fall-guy for a genuine traitor merely because of his Jewish background.

Back in my French History class in college, the prof mentioned in passing a fairly interesting and not utterly crazy-sounding revisionist history theory, to the effect that Drefus actually volunteered for the role of scapegoat, the whole thing being designed as a counterintelligence operation against Germany, to distract them from the French development of the (their, really) machine-gun. I don’t recall all the details, but part of it had to do with the alleged fact that the technical details of a French gun that Dreyfus allegedly passed as part of his epsionage, were patently incorrect.

Why Arabs Lose Wars

This description needs to be read by Atlas. It relates directly to the “anti-jihad” political effort she is pushing. Because when you get right down to it, the people she wants to associate with are highly effective (the Euro nazis) and the “jihadis” are less so (until they get a bomb, but she isn’t focussed on that, but on supremacist approaches in Europe). This next decade will be very interesting (and potentially so sad) in Europe. Atlas need to not bring shame to the Jewish people by mixing in with people who really aren’t our friends. The Euros are very good at hiding and disguising their endless slime of the soul where it comes to Jews. That’s why the videos showing these folks in the comfortable milieu of their friends are ever so instructive. And Geert… is he following Atlas and Robert Spencer away from his previously straighter path?

I don’t know.

the bigger point, above a lot of people being out of work, is that most corporations are now doing general house cleaning and reorganizing that they have been putting of for some time now.

That should also cut cost, raise productivity, and make it easier and easier for positive numbers to be generated.

If I may be cynical, I doubt that this “probe” is part of any serious Hamas quality control program. I suspect that its purpose is support the “Israel didn’t win, we lost” blather that is so common upon sore losers of all forms. It is to keep viable the illusion that the only people that can stop Hamas is Hamas, but that they’ll straighten out the problem.

In my opinion, the whole show resulted from the Iranians wanting to expand upon the results of the 2006 Israel Hizb’allah war, to show that Israel had two Iranian backed militias on its borders that it could not defeat. The problem was that Israel learned from its Lebanon experience and the Iranians did not. The Iranians counted on a reprise of the tactics that succeeded for Hizb’allah: urban ambushes, secure communications, deploying among civilians, etc., but forgot to consider whether the Israelis figured out how to deal with such tactics.

So now we’ll get a big production complete with western apologists sympathizing with the fact that Hamas is distraught over its failure to protect its innocent civilians from the genocidal activities of the Zionists. In short, same song, different verse.

The banks are selling off some of the toxic assets:

Banks Sell Bad Residential Project Debt, DebtX Says

Jan. 26 (Bloomberg) — Banks are selling troubled loans on land and residential construction debt at a faster pace as property prices plummet, according to Debt Exchange Inc. Chief Executive Officer Kingsley Greenland.

Banks and other sellers used the Boston-based company’s online marketplace to dispose of more than $1 billion of U.S. debt last quarter, triple the amount from a year earlier, including “hundreds of millions” of dollars of land loans and housing construction and development debt, Greenland said. Buyers pay at least 50 percent less than the face amount, he said.

“These are the toxic assets on banks’ balance sheets,” Greenland, whose company is known as DebtX, said in a telephone interview. “And there’s definitely a market for them. The price is another story.”

I know this sounds cruel, but Israel should have considered going “Dresden” in gaza. Could the phony anti-Israel outrage around the world have been any worse than it already was? And would Israel not have sent a better message to its enemies? Knowing that they were going to pull back before Obama was inaugurated, why didn’t they open a can of “Dresden whoop ass” while Dubya was still in power? I expect Bibi Netanyahu to win the election, and there will surely be tension between he and BHO, so I think his hands will be tied somewhat. Olmert and Livni once again blew a good chance.

If the HAMAS leadership weren’t afraid to die, they wouldn’t have holed themselves up in the basement of the hospital to begin with. So I strongly doubt they would have tried anything so rash as blowing up the entire hospital.

PR issues probably had something to do with it; though I agree, whatever those issues, Israel squandered a big opportunity here, I think.

Buying Time by Shmuel Rosner
Why George Mitchell is the perfect envoy not to solve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Even if Mitchell can somehow overcome each side’s inertia, his achievement or failure will not be determined by new road maps or modified Obama parameters. Mitchell’s success will be determined by the ability of the Obama administration to engage Iran effectively, and by its ability to turn the regional tide. As long as those forces working to destabilize the Middle East—Hezbollah, Hamas, and their enablers—control the pace of events and inspire the Arab masses, it is very hard to envision a “road map” that will take this track to its final destination.

Thus, the appointment of the patient, distinguished Mitchell is playing for time: As he works to create the conditions for peace, his other colleagues will be tasked with the more daunting mission. This is the “linkage theory” turned upside-down: The real difference between the original linkage (that the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is the key to the region) and the second (that the region is the key to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict) is that the latter has a much better chance of actually leading to peace in the Middle East. Iran, after all, is a source of instability across the region, funding terrorist groups in Gaza, Iraq, and Lebanon, and propping up the Syrian regime. Mitchell’s portfolio does not include negotiations with Iran; but the outcome of those talks will be the most significant factor in accomplishing his mission.

I have to say, when the started re-designing US embassies for improved security in the 90s, they did a good job. Typical attack on a US embassy in recent years involves, unfortunately, lots of passers-by getting killed or wounded by the bomb and/or gunfire, but the embassy itself remaining unscathed.

I know there are a few doctors and nutritionists here.
So, what’s wrong with this picture?
In the UK the NHS is taking meat off the menu in all hospitals to aid in their carbon offset rate.
Doesn’t that interfere with healing?
Won’t it contribute to higher diabetes rates?
I mean, a vegetarian diet is fine in and of itself, but there’s a time and place for lean meat when you’re sick, right?

Protein complementarity means beans & grain together give you good protein, cheaper than meat.

Sorry, tofu & rice for you. Or hummus & pita bread.

That’s only true if citrus is added.
Mexican homes always add lime to their beans and rice.
If they didn’t it would not become the needed proteins to replace meat in their diet.
That’s not as well known as it should be.

I’m confused, this looks like the EU is blaming Hamas. What am i missing?

AFP is putting “Terrorists” in quotes, as if it’s a mere point of view, when they aren’t necessarily terrorists.

That’s why AFP sucks ass.

Turns out that lime juice is essential in releasing the nutrients in the foods you listed. I was amazed that something the Mexicans or Latino ancestors were doing for hundreds it not thousands of years was actually necessary and not just tasty.

At the beginning of the Six Day War, my father told me: “Those stinkin’ Arabs don’t have a chance.” I asked him how he knew. He replied: “They don’t maintain their equipment. If somethings breaks down it’s “God’s Will”.

His service in the Navy during WWII left with two verbal quirks. He never used the word “Arab” without preceding it with word “stinkin’” and he never used the word “regulation” without preceding it with the word “horses**t”.

Whle at boot in Great lakes, teh Iranians were still allies, and they had a whole division to themselves. When they went thru, the entire place had to be fumigated due to the mass of lice and other vermin they brought with them…

Someone posted an article a few weeks ago about the Israeli sense of humanitarianism, they specificly try NOT to hurt innocents in their war, having been the victim of so many attacks against their innocents…

And I do admire them for that. But what has their kindness gotten them? I suppose they are better people than I am. Their restraint is admirable, but I just hope it doesn’t cost them their future.

re: #181 lawhawk The EU spends most of its free time “importing terrorists”. And, if we cannot prove they pose no threat, what do we do with them? These are the people that want the place closed with no alternatives. They are all just hoping and praying that we have to release them into the US so we can suck as bad as those countries do. Screw it. Keep the place open. If the EU doesn’t want to be part of a solution, then they can remain part of the problem.

Hasn’t so far and I seriously doubt it will in the future. Like us, the Israelis take the high road and follow the Laws of Land Warfare and the Geneva convention and their own moral convictions. Fighting as the enemy does only makes you a clone of them-no better.

450 offendi  Mon, Jan 26, 2009 4:42:45pm

The answer is clear. Teach Blago some arabic, give him a headress, and send him over to Gaza. He got over on Obama, Pelosi, and Reid pretty easily so Hamas leaders will be no problem. And he will need a new job soon.

Plus you will get peace for a “price”.

re: #4 Kragar (Proud to be Kafir)

Why Arabs Lose Wars

I loved this line:

The presumed close U.S.-Israel relationship, thought to be operative at all levels, aggravates and complicates this penchant for secrecy. Arabs believe that the most mundane details about them are somehow transmitted to the Mossad via a secret hotline. This explains why a U.S. advisor with Arab forces is likely to be asked early and often about his opinion of the “Palestine problem,” then subjected to monologues on the presumed Jewish domination of the United States.

Arabs in power are scared shitless of the Mossad haha
