Ron Paul!

Moonbats • Views: 2,167

Now the troglodytes at the Ron Paul Forum are taking a few whacks at the LGF pinata: Blowback for putting Alex Jones on Freedom Watch - Liberty Forest.

Among the testimonials to the brilliance of Alex Jones, we find this lovely comment from a Paulian who suspects the Jews are responsible:

I do wonder what their connection is to the ADL and SPLC. They seem to have the same agenda.

Ron Paul is beyond parody.

From a comment over there:

Napolitano should have kept Alex Jones off that show.

The guy is too hot to handle seriously. If he wants any chance of getting an actual show, keep that guy as far away as possible.

Is Rockwell fringe…yes. But it’s a whole different type of fringe than Jones’s show.

I’m not arguing for censorship, but just saying what I think Napolitano should have done.

Uh- rockwell worked for your guy, buddy. What does that tell you?

Incoming paulbots!

If Ron was so great, how come he never got better that 4th (or last when there were less than 3) in the primaries?

Has the LP ever gotten to 1% in a presidential election?

Sorry Ronbots, your man had his chance, no one voted for him, guess he is not the second coming of Christ?

**OT** From the “You Can’t Make This Shit Up” Department:

SNIP

An Italian court has jailed a Tunisian pilot who paused to pray instead of taking emergency measures before ditching his plane, killing 16 people.

A fuel gauge fault was partly to blame for the crash off Sicily in 2005 but judges convicted Chafik Garbi of manslaughter, jailing him for 10 years.

Six others, including the co-pilot and head of the airline Tuninter, were jailed for between eight and 10 years.
That BBC report declines to name the co-pilot. An aviation site is more informative:
A court in Palermo, Sicily, has sentenced Capt. Shafik Al Gharbi and copilot Ali Kebaier Lassoued to 10 years in prison for failing to take adequate emergency measures before crash landing their Tuninter ATR 72 turboprop into the sea …

The court said Al Gharbi and Lassoued prayed instead of trying to land the airplane …

Neither man is identified by Reuters

Is it really a good argument to say that because someone doesn’t get popular support they aren’t a good candidate? Obama seems pretty popular, and I’m pretty sure he is a complete joke. Democracy is the greatest, fairest political system in the world. That doesn’t mean that some people with great ideas won’t be ignored, while those with no ideas (or rehashed liberal fantasies) will be elected.

26 Sharmuta  Tue, Mar 24, 2009 3:36:02pm
This show is going to take quite a bit of heat, “Freedom Watch”. Remember, “Truth is treason in the empire of lies”. Despite others feelings I have a lot of neo-con sort of friends. This is a move in the right direction. As far as people that have almost toxic amounts of kool aid in their system, they think now that we’re on Fox it adds credibility to the Revolution. So rather then recommending they Google: Ron Paul. Tell them about “Freedom Watch” on Fox. I admit some people in the movement might have a bit loose in there heads but compared to the likes of Insannity or Bimbaugh, we’re nothing.

And this is exactly the problem with having kooks on fox programs. It gives them legitimacy!

Alex Jones seems to be right… on about 25% of what he says (guessing). The other 75% is pure delusional fantasy of a demagogue who wants to be a mainstream talk show host. But he uses the 25% to weasel his way onto FNC and the like.

I wish Napolitano and anyone else that has this guy as a guest would just say, “Yes, there are some scary things going on right now, as you said. But let’s discuss your batshit crazy theories on 9/11 so people can differentiate between conservatism and your lunacy.”

Instead, FNC et al, ignore the 75% and discuss only the 25%… So people who know the truth about Jones (that’s us, Lizards) will be disgusted but the vast majority will start to really listen to the guy. It’s almost like some big conspiracy to put Alex Jones into the mainstream…

Cue the spooky conspiracy music.

Sorry, Keyes is right on some issues but he is way over the edge. He is a less credible perennial candidate than Harald Stassen ever was. Reagan appointing him Ambassador to a UN agency just shows George Schults’s or RR’s opinion of that UN sinkhole.

* * **
You may be right. Keyes was William Kristol’s roommate in college—had to be sharp— and as you say is right on some issues. I think he really loves this country and its founding principles. Keyes can speak about these with passion & conviction. But he probably couldn’t run anything.

What are the chances of all these leaders randomly using this term on their own? What are the chanced Time Magazine would have 2 articles in the last 6 months talking about how Obama will be the one to finally usher in a New World Order. This is not some nonsensical term all the leaders of the world use just to screw with the conspiracy theorists. For a lot of you, even on this site, it’s impossible for you to accept a conspiracy so monstrous. In order to stop it, we need to become very aware that it is real, there are global decision makers. The Postman, by David Brin (No, not the mediocre movie with Kevin Costner), was a book that showed that excellent point.

My mom started in about the ‘missing’ birth certificate last night. I explained a few of the connections between the nirther/troofer movements and she said “well that covers that, are they all related to anthony hopkins.”

Unless someone switches the message on the teleprompter. Like maybe a speech written by, say, Sponge Bob Square Pants. Now that would be worth watching.

OK, if we were to re-cast Kukla, Fran and Ollie with some of the current “conservative” commentators on Fox, how would we cast it? Ron Paul as Kookla, Rockwell as Ollie, Alex Jones as Burr-up-his-*ss Tillstrom? Who would be Fran?

Pat Buchanan.

OT (I think):

I was once accused of being “anti-freedom” by a guy I went to school with, because I didn’t do drugs, which he claimed were “liberating”. He further stated that “You’re a fascist (there’s that word again)- you’re not only afraid to free yourself, you don’t want me to be free, either!”

My response?

“I personally don’t give a s#!t what you do to your body, or your brain- that’s not my business.

“But as long as you insist on drag-racing in a hopped-up GTO while you’re stoned- that’s everybody’s business.”

Yes, he eventually got nailed for it- fortunately before he managed to kill himself, or anyone else.

The bottom line being, there is a difference between “freedom” and “license”. I’m all in favor of the former, and have a lot of doubts about the latter.

cheers

eon

There’s a delightful scene in one of Sarah Caudwell’s mystery novels, where one of the characters ends up at a wild, drug-filled party in a London flat. The host urges everyone to do whatever they want, whereupon Selena, slightly stoned, goes so far in abandoning proper behavior as to stop trying to make polite conversation, pulls a Jane Austen novel out of her purse, and begins to read.

The host keeps bothering her and urging her to take off her clothes and do coke. She is miffed by this—so many people like to deny others their pleasures—and points out later that she was not pestering him to put his clothes back on and read Jane Austen, was she?

People who believe that freedom is only found in doing things they like to do are missing the point.

I hadn’t heard about Michelle flashing the “satin” symbols. LOL Here’s a goody from that site:

“OK, so Alex pisses me off when he does articles about Michelle Obama flashing Satin symbols on magazine cover shots, but he is dead on with The New World Order stuff. It does exist, and it’s architects need to be exposed. Obama, Blair, Kissinger, Blair, Brown, Clinton, Fox, Bush…these are all world leaders who have used the term New World Order. You can call it a conspiracy, but I’d rather you just call it a group of very powerful men that view the world as their own personal experiment.”

What exactly are ‘satin symbols’?

I’ve suggested that Logic be put back in the schools.

Actually, they just need to put discipline back in the schools. You really wouldn’t believe how kids are allowed to act in the classroom in middle and high schools today. Even the accelerated classes at regular public schools are out of control. If a kid isn’t really on the ball, they won’t learn anything. It’s not the teachers’ faults. Who is at fault? Why, William Ayers and the rest of the educational establishment that saw fit to make him Vice President of an elite curriculum association.

They have put the inmates in charge of the asylum….literally. The bad kids and bad parents have been allowed to drag the rest of public education down to their level. The top 10% of kid in every classroom have to learn despite massive distractions. My kids perform very well, but kids whose parents don’t stay very involved with homework, etc? Forget it.

Dog Tail-Chasing Linked to High Cholesterol

A team of veterinarians has found a surprising link between compulsive tail-chasing in dogs and high cholesterol, according to a study published in the March issue of the Journal of Small Animal Practice.

The finding adds to a growing body of evidence — mostly from studies on humans — that high cholesterol may be a marker for behavioral problems such as panic attacks and obsessive compulsive disorder, which could be expressed by frequent tail-chasing falls in dogs.

Bouts of tail-chasing can also occur after a dog experiences physical trauma, surgery or illness, noted Hasan Batmaz, a member of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Turkey’s University of Uludag, who conducted the study along with a team of colleagues.

Ron Paul followers are mindless freaks.

I came across a website named Liberty Maven. In this post
they knock a bunch of bills as being unconstitutional and “egregious.” Two of them are the bills that will give 20 million to study Congenital Heart Defect causes and prevention. As you know, that’s my issue, and I disagree!

So I wrote this post. I didn’t call them out as much as I explained our side of the issue. A few of my readers made their feelings known on Liberty Maven’s comment form, and they get back responses like this:

Teri, I personally sympathize with your ailment. My younger brother died of cancer in 1997. It was a very difficult time for my family. Even with that horrible event, it doesn’t change the law as set forth in the U.S. Constitution. I’m not suddenly on the side of ignoring the supreme law of the land because I’ve had a tragic personal loss. I’m not lobbying the government to reach into the pockets of hard working Americans and hand that money to cancer research. However, I have lobbied friends, family, and co-workers to voluntarily donate their money and time toward cancer research.

Your hope should come from within and those close to you (your family, friends, church). The funding you desire should come from entities who voluntarily donate their money to your cause, not through force via the Federal government.

Lowering or abolishing the income tax is the single best action that can be taken to help your cause and others like it.

re: #209 Slumbering Behemoth

With all due respect, I think you may be missing the point of my original post. Or maybe I wasn’t clear…

Nothing Jones said in his interview with Napolitano was terribly off base. (here’s the link if you didn’t see it). It sounded alot like Rush, Beck, Hannity, Savage, etc… In other words, Alex Jones appeared to be pretty rationale, well-informed and within the mainstream of conservative thought.

All I’m saying is, Jones is going to play footsy with any conservative outlet that will give him a microphone. People will listen to him and think he’s making sense, because he kind of does make sense - as long as he doesn’t discuss the psycho-paranoid theories that make up most of his schtick.

Some people will be lured in by this and the Libs will use it to paint all conservatives as wackos like Jones (like you said).

Nothing would suit the great media/Democrat/lefty cabal any better than for nuts like Rockwell and Jones to become the perceived voice of the opposition.
Am I proposing my own conspiracy theory, a conspiracy to promote conspiracy nuts? Hardly. An actual conspiracy would require some kind of centralized, conscious collusion. The Obama cheerleaders in the leftist media
scarcely need a conspiracist mastermind or a central plan to recognize a tactical opportunity, or to pick up useful trends in their business. Trend-spotting, after all, is what drives the media and they are very very good at it; to say nothing of their ability to magnify and create trends in the larger society. The new trend is not just to portray the kooks as the real heart opposition but to actively facilitate their efforts to achieve that status, that is, bring a strawman to life.
If nothing else, Napolitano and Fox have attempted to legitimize Jones and Rockwell as credible voices.

It’s interesting that these guys (google for “Bavaria for Ron Paul”) are calling for a solidarity-demonstration for the notorious Neonazi Horst Mahler (who was a former leftwing-extremist, and is now a Neonazi and Holocaust-denier).

re: #124 sleepyone

I’m late to the Alex Jones/Ron Paul discussion and have to admit that I’m not familiar with him (Jones). I checked out the link to his site and was pretty amused. Is this guy taken seriously? It seems like a parody site but I’m sure it’s not. Please someone tell me it is a joke.

It is a nice racket for Alex. That is the end of the good things I can say.

I want to see almost every politician in DC under the bus, but that’s besides the point.

Pelosi is like, well, one of the highest positioned person in your party. Seems to me if you see her as a problem, then something is really wrong.

But of course, cognitive thinking problems keeps you from ever coming close to understanding why that’s just all wrong.

very nicely put, I am still trying to figure out who I am after this election. . if these people are democrats, I am SO TOTALLY something different…

re: #432 MandyManners

It came through loud and clear to me.

Mandy, I listened to it, she never said that. Or am I missing something?

I’m not trying to deny what you are saying, but I listened and watch the whole 4 minute plus segment, and I didn’t hear her mention Jews at all.

I’m confused (what’s new)?

Maxine Waters may just be the dumbest person in congress - other than Nancy Pelosi, that is.

Via Hot Air:

Comedy gold: Maxine Waters grills Geithner on the secret Goldman Sachs cabal or something

“My CEO?”

She certainly doesn’t let any facts get in the way of her rolling out an inarticulate speculation.

(Somebody here, can’t remember who, posted that comment last year after I posted a link to the Ron Paul supporters of India and Pakistan. I thought it was one of the funniest things I had ever read here and determined to steal it at the first opportunity.)

Ron Paul? For real? We talk about him and then ponder over why he gets such traction?
Anyone who is supporting Paul has already made their decision, anyone who isn’t is just getting more exposure to his views.
Screw Ron Paul. His policies are far more destructive than Creationism, Socialism or Obamamania will ever be.
Check out his site if you need proof of his stupidity.

re: #445 Sharmuta
Are you surprised that there are Ron Paul Supporters from outside the USA?
Since the elections in the USA are the most important in the world, it’s not that surprising, that also people from outside the States are interesting in the candidates, make support-websites and so on (Though, I didn’t liked the attitude many people in Germany showed, as if it was them who vote and not the Americans. That’s a difference than just having an opinion).

Besides Obama (who was by far everybody’s darling here), Ron Paul was the candidate whom some Germans favored. His supporters here recruite from the conspiracy-theory-milieu (Infowars, Troofers and so on) but also from organized Neonazis (the milieu is often the same).

Well LGF and Hotair are certainly anti-freedom — anti-freedom is almost a mission statement for them — so I can see how they wouldn’t like a show entitled “Freedom Watch”….

What are these people smoking?

If they were smoking, say, The Good Herb, they wouldn’t have come to this conclusion. That said, I’ve no idea what on Earth they are thinking, but whatever it is, reality has taken a backseat to their line of reasoning. This is yet another example of cognitive dissonance.
