Colbert Encapsulates Palin

Okay...Colbert just raised himself a shitload of notches in my book. Usually, I find him tiresome as he's always in character, but that was a feat of rhetorical brilliance. He said everything that needed to be said about Sarah Palin but that no "real" news person dares say out of fear that they'll get shafted by the Republican knee-jerk response to defend her.

Good stuff.
I know you think her reality show was pathetically unstatesmanlike and, at the same time, I know that you believe it also represents the pinnacle of her potential and her transparent desperation to be a celebrity so completely eclipsed her interest in public service so long ago that there would be more journalistic integrity in reporting on one of the lesser Kardashian’s ass implants. I know that when you arrive at the office each day you say a silent prayer that maybe, just maybe, Sarah Palin will at long last shut up for 10 fucking minutes.”

Actually, there's a good bit to praise about Ed Koch. He was reasonably effective as mayor of New York, and was able to rein in the municipal union insanity that had crippled NYC under the preceding Lindsey and Beame mayoralities. He was not able to truly turn New York around (that task needed to wait for Rudy Giuliani) but he was able to arrest the decline and seriously cut back one of its components.

Well, that's an improvement on the accuracy of the some of the commentary about her. It's bad form and bad practice to call everyone who's ignorant, self-centered, and wrong on almost everything, stupid.
What they're saying may be stupid, but they're saying it because it serves their purposes. Not because they can't figure anything out. Palin doesn't even think about the reality of the situations she speaks about. She does think about how her words will play. She's got herself a nice gig, a running vacation that pays her! She's got fame, a following, etc. It's stupid to write her off as stupid.

Well, Jaunte pointed out the context and limits of Koch's defense of her. It was more a request for civility and a reminder not to underestimate her. You can't really call it a "plea for civility", since Ed Koch is not a man to plead. He believes in being forceful instead, though he's never ugly in so doing.

Israel arrests suspect in Srebrenica massacre
Jerusalem (CNN) -- Israeli police arrested Tuesday an immigrant from the former Yugoslavia who is suspected of participating in the 1995 massacre in the Bosnian town of Srebrenica.
Aleksander Cvetkovic immigrated to Israel with his wife, who is Jewish, and children in 2006 and received Israeli citizenship, said a statement from the Israeli Justice Ministry.
The Israeli state prosecutor's office received an extradition request for him last August from the Bosnian government. The decision to open an extradition process came after months of examining evidence.
That evidence exposes shocking details of the massacre of Muslims at Braniewo farm, the ministry said.
"Hundreds of Bosnian civilians were bused to the farm handcuffed and blindfolded. They were led to the killing fields where firing squads made up of Bosnian-Serb soldiers shot them in cold blood," the ministry said.
Cvetkovic actively participated in the massacre and was one of eight soldiers in the firing squad, the state prosecutor's office said. The extradition process, it said, is part of "an international legal action that investigates and prosecutes those responsible for planning and carrying out genocide."
Of course, to the Stalkers this represents a "capitulation to Islam" on the part of Israel.

The problem is that we could stop looking and her followers would still be gazing at her till their eyeballs dry up from a lack of blinking...
Even Barbara Walters lamented feeling sorry for Palin because she was getting the blame pinned to her. When that happens, it is a clear indication that it was not a good move to raise Palin's profile when she said absolutely nothing except to express condolences in the wake of the shooting. Only after Palin was getting raked over the colas in the press did she give her "blood libel" speech. Making Palin the story when there was no evidence to justify it only weakens the argument that Palin's rhetoric is too extreme.
Anyone catch Al Sharpton on Meet the Press this weekend? The debate about the shooting already moved past Palin and onto issues like mental health and gun control--the real issues in this shooting. Sharpton had nothing to add to the conversation because he only wanted to talk about cooling the overheated rhetoric. After discussing mental health, Sharpton laughably tried to bring the debate back to vitriol by saying we can't address mental health issues until we solve the vitriol problem. When Sharpton's unctuous pleas make the debate about vitriol represent what's left defending that argument, well, your argument has reached a new level of farce.

The scene is stunningly inaccurate, though. Brian de Palma took Frank Nitti's nickname of "The Enforcer" far too literally. Nitti had done some killing in the first part of the 1920's but by 1930 those days were long over. And he never used a Thompson submachinegun (which did not see use in Chicago as a gang weapon until 1925). The Outfit's ace Tommy gunner in 1930 was John "Machine Gun Jack" McGurn.

The problem is, Rockwell and his followers aren't going to retreat. They will just repackage their product and sell it to a whole new generation. Rockwell and his kin have been at this for decades and just like Pat Buchanan they know that fashions come and go quickly.
If you would have asked someone 11 years ago (the much celebrated year 2000) if Cleon Skousen's (and the JBS's) beliefs would be turned into a hit TV show that influences the beliefs of many, and that it would become an element in American politics, would that person in 2000 say "of course" or would they have scratched their heads? No, they won't do so willingly. But they can be discredited enough to keep them from doing much damage for a while. Keeping these scum pruned back is the best that can be done. To fully discredit them for good, you'd need a modern-day mass epidemic that was stopped by vaccines. That's the only thing that would make fear of disease overwhelmingly more important than fear of side effects in the public mind.

No, they won't do so willingly. But they can be discredited enough to keep them from doing much damage for a while. Keeping these scum pruned back is the best that can be done. To fully discredit them for good, you'd need a modern-day mass epidemic that was stopped by vaccines. That's the only thing that would make fear of disease overwhelmingly more important than fear of side effects in the public mind.
they would simply blow off vaccines and claim 'Gods will'....he and his followers are zealous, they will never admit defeat....a lot of that going around these days so it's almost normal to construct a reality then swear to it

re: #64 BryanS
Have you missed the polls over the last two years? Whenever Palin gets her "profile raised," it's great for her reality show/celebutard career. But it pretty much does the opposite for her politically. People may find her intriguing, but she becomes a less viable candidate when the public sees her shallow, off-key, woe is me, victim act.

Park Ridge, actually. It's a Near Northwest suburb of Chicago. It's only real landmark is the Pickwick Theater, which has been showing movies since the late 1920's. It's Art Deco exterior is quite distinctive and has helped keep it going all these years, as does its prime location at Touhy and Northwest Highway.

ACLU sues King County, wants Israel 'war crime' bus ads to run
The ACLU of Washington, representing a group that purchased a bus ad alleging Israeli war crimes, sued King County Wednesday over its decision to cancel the ad before it appeared.
The lawsuit in U.S. District Court claims that King County violated the group's First Amendment rights and asks the court to order the county to run the ad for four weeks on the sides of 12 buses, as Metro and its ad agency originally agreed to do.
...The ad, which never appeared on Metro buses, showed children looking at a bomb-damaged building in Gaza and these words: "Israeli war crimes — Your tax dollars at work."

Not sure if this has been posted yet, but the Buffalo Beast has come out with their list of the worst of 2010:
The 50 Most Loathsome Americans of 2010
Geller comes in at #12:
12) Pamela Geller
Charges: The Woodward to Orly Taitz’s Bernstein, publisher of the mendacious blog Atlas Shrugs and co-founder of the hate group Stop Islamization of America. She was the bigoted fountainhead of hysteria over the “Ground Zero Mosque,” which is neither a mosque, nor located at Ground Zero, but rather a former, and totally sacred, Burlington Coat Factory. Her pathological falsehoods include, but are not limited to, the claims that the Bosnian Genocide was actually a clever Muslim mass-suicide/sympathy campaign, Obama—the undercover Muslim—is the love child of Malcolm X, his mom was a porno worker, and that Jewish Supreme Court Justice Elena Kagan is a Nazi. This lunatic makes Ann Coulter seem the very model of civility, reason and grace.
Aggravating factor: “I don’t know where it is in America that you can’t make jokes or make fun.”
Sentence: Sharia Law in a five-foot radius around Pam Geller.
Palin came in at #6.
It's a brutal look at America in 2010.

Fun things include:
Among the powers of a Drainage District were the power to condemn and acquire property outside its boundaries "for the public use". It used this power at least once to obtain land for Canal C-1 (Bonnet Creek) through land that is now being developed as the Bonnet Creek Resort, a non-Disney resort.

Where were you when Obama was immediately attacked as Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Woodrow Wilson and all other form of despot? That stuff started immediately after his inauguration, in huge rallies (nothing of that sort anti-Palin has happened) and it hasn't abated given the tea party antics.
And well before the primaries started Obama's love of America, citizenship, hand over heart during Pledge, supposed use of Quran for Senate inauguration, etc., had all started.
So, YEAH, we've all seen this before, over the past few years. And the reason Palin gets the abuse is the media spotlight she seeks is a double edged sword.

Just wondering if NJD had any substantive knowledge of the "Chicago Way" other repeating it in its common usage as a vague talking point.
Either way, it's shorthand, hardly dispositive of anything.

It's actually sort of an interesting case when you think about it, advertising on a public bus, how picky can the county get (it's the county I grew up in, BTW)
So like, if King County just combed through the ideology of every ad on their busses, and rejected everything that was ideologically impure to the bus system, would that be cool?
Like, if a king county GOP candidate wanted to roll out changes in bus policy, and then KC rejected any ads for that candidate on Joe Metro, or hell, the party, if that's their platform.

When you equate Israel's precisely targeted bombing in Operation Cast Lead with 'War Crimes', you are being libelous. It was a defensive action carried out with a view towards minimizing civilian casualties and property destruction that was only launched after every attempt to peacefully stop Hamas' rain of rockets had failed.

re: #304 palomino
Just wondering if NJD had any substantive knowledge of the "Chicago Way" other repeating it in its common usage as a vague talking point.
Either way, it's shorthand, hardly dispositive of anything.
Well, it can be used as a way of describing Chicago's type of sometimes-violent, always corrupt machine politics. It doesn't entirely fit Obama though, since he was never really part of the machine, being more the kind of left-wing 'reformer'* who sometimes fights the machine at at other times is allied to it. The first point (fighting the machine) is shown by Obama's 1980's support for then-mayor Harold Washington, who was the enemy of the political interests that made up the machine. More recently, Obama's choice of william Daley as his chief of staff is viewable as allying with the machine (any son of Richard J. Daley is permanently identified as part of the machine).
*: My use of quotes around the word reformer is not meant to express dislike of Obama, but rather to highlight the extremely reform-resistant nature of Chicago politics.

Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon, Carter...
Reagan, Bush Sr., Clinton, Bush Jr.,
Kerry, Obama...
Well, yes, but except for Kerry, they were all actually President. That carries an extra hater charge.
Al Gore. I would say that Al Gore is the Republican's Sarah Palin, except he's not, because he had an actual political career, and qualifications and stuff.
I actually found myself on this forum a few months ago explaining how Dan Quayle was infinitely better qualified for the Vice Presidency than Sarah Palin. That was a scary moment.

I know a couple who do that. Sometimes a couple of times a year. I don't get it. Grown women, with real jobs and lives and stuff (and no kids), and they collect Disney collector pins, and go to Disneyland every chance they get. It's fun, OK, but the world is full of cooler places.
I agree :D I do love the animation though, there was a time where Disney ruled, and had all the talent, and all the forward thinking artists :-)
My problem is I like the park, but I don't like crowds, and I'm not motivated to fly to anaheim :D

Let it be noticed then. I really actually can't stand relatively few people in politics. I respect the strategists, even if they're assholes. I know Huckabee is a batty wannabe theocrat, but I think he's a good man at heart. I even liked George W. Bush, although we didn't agree on a whole hell of a lot except Tex-Mex cuisine.
Palin has:
a. Become a pundit. I hate a lot of pundits.
b. Made it eminently clear that she despises people like me, and thinks we do not love America or have good values.
I cordially loathe the woman. I don't try to hide it. I don't want anything worse than bad books sales to happen to her, but I do not like her. I also don't think the level of hate directed at her is particularly worse than that faced by, say, Hillary Clinton when she was first lady.
cordially loath...lol :)

re: #374 WindUpBird
you seem to have a very limited understanding of our legal system
I see what you mean. The ACLU won this lawsuit because we all know NAMBLA was the real victim here.
///
Curley v. NAMBLA was a wrongful death lawsuit filed in the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts in 2000, by Barbara and Robert Curley against the North American Man/Boy Love Association (NAMBLA). The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) represented NAMBLA and was successful in getting the suit dismissed.[1] The Curleys continued the suit as a wrongful death action against individual NAMBLA members and NAMBLA Steering Committee members.[2][3] The Curleys dropped the lawsuit in 2008 because the plaintiffs had only one witness prepared to testify that NAMBLA somehow incited one of the convicted criminals but a judge ruled the witness was not competent to testify.[4]
According to columnist Wendy Kaminer, the case highlighted censorship of unpopular speech about sexuality and the "widespread biases about a supposed link between homosexuality and pedophilia" as children are more likely to be preyed upon by heterosexuals in their extended families.[5][6] The case heightened the gay communities disassociation with NAMBLA and even appearances of supporting pederasty (attraction to children after puberty) and pedophilia (attraction to prepubescent children), a division that was even present in NAMBLA as to their public image and publication(s) content.[7] The case also nearly brought the death penalty back to Massachusetts.[8]

re: #402 rwmofo
This is embarrassing.
Let's have a tough guy show you how to do it.
Bush was booed at every opening pitch he threw. There's documented video that shows how Fox, for example, edited the audio to reduce the crowd noise...and he bounced a few pitches short of the mound. You must get the same kind of sexual release from watching him as you do Sarah Palin to be that blind to what actually happened during his term.

re: #443 freetoken
Yup. Anyone can demonstrate via their words their own vileness, bigotry or stupidity for all to see.
So many people want to pick on the ACLU but in this case it just seems that the ACLU has taken on an unpopular cause but one which probably really ought to be resolved in courts so free-speech can be delineated from prohibited speech.
this exactly

Now if those signs on a bus called out a specific IDF soldier and accused him of a "war crime" such as "Capt. X of the IDF is a war criminal" then that could be considered libelous.

I think it's going to get weird at the edges, for example, I'm sure KC is within their rights not to publish one of those crazy abortion ads
I actually don't know where this will end up, I'm honestly not opposed to the courts saying that ad can legally be rejected
I just think it's a good thing for the ACLU to sue because it's a case that raises real questions

I don't generally go around calling people whores, but I still bridle at the suggestion that Palin is getting more shit than the average jerk pundit.
I typed "Barack Obama is an idiot" into Google and got 500,000 results. "Sarah Palin is an idiot" yielded 50,000 results.
Just in that one dinky li'l sentence the President had 10X as many haters as the Governor. It's tough to back up the claim you're persecuted when the evidence flies in the face of it.
Interestingly, "Sarah Palin is a whore" got 121,000 hits. Clearly, LGF doesn't have the exclusive trademark. :-)

Scientists Generate Megawatt-Class Laser Beams for US Navy's Next-Generation Weapon System
Scientists at Los Alamos National Lab, N.M., have achieved a breakthrough with the Office of Naval Research's Free Electron Laser (FEL) program, demonstrating an injector capable of producing the electrons needed to generate megawatt-class laser beams for the US Navy's next-generation weapon system.
The Dec. 20 milestone, which occurred months ahead of schedule, will be the highlight of a two-day preliminary design review scheduled Jan. 20-21 in Virginia.
"The injector performed as we predicted all along," said Dr. Dinh Nguyen, senior project leader for the FEL program at the lab. [...]
Evil scientimists want to blowed up the world...
The laser works by passing a beam of high-energy electrons generated by an injector, through a series of strong magnetic fields, causing an intense emission of laser light. ONR hopes to test the FEL in a maritime environment as early as 2018.

No, but he made some of us pray that much harder that nothing bad would happen to HW Bush...
An old joke--
The Lubavitcher Rebbe, Pope John Paul II, George HW Bush and Dan Quayle are all flying together to an international conference. Mid-flight, the pilot bursts in on them. "Hey, guys. I'm sorry, but the plane is on fire, and we're going to crash. Unfortunately, there's only four parachutes, and I'm taking one, so you'll have to work this out among yourselves." And he jumps from the plane.
Dan Quayle leaps to his feet and says "George Bush is the greatest president America has ever had. He's a man of enormous moral character and will undoubtedly choose to go down with the plane. As a result, I must survive to lead the nation." He grabs a parachute and jumps.
Bush leaps to his feet and says, "Gentlemen, I hate to put you in such a bind, but if that idiot survives and I don't, he'll be president of the United States. I'm sure you understand that can't be allowed to happen." He grabs a parachute and jumps from the plane.
The Rebbe and the Pope are left in the burning plane. Finally the Pope speaks. "Menachem Mendel, you have no heir. If I die, a new Cardinal will be named Pope, and the Church will continue on. If you die without naming your successor, your followers will be left without guidance. I think you should take the last parachute."
"Thank you, Karol," the Rebbe says, "But that won't be necessary. We'll both jump."
"But how?"
"Well...it happened so fast, I couldn't tell him...but Mr. Quayle jumped with my tallis bag."

The solution to that in the legislation that passed was forcing people to buy insurance. Probably a more legally sound option would have been just to provide a basic level of insurance for those who cannot afford it. The subsidy structure the act puts in place will end up putting most people in subsidy range, so individuals won't see higher prices, but the costs will still be there. That's a recipe for runaway costs.

I think it's going to get weird at the edges, for example, I'm sure KC is within their rights not to publish one of those crazy abortion ads
I actually don't know where this will end up, I'm honestly not opposed to the courts saying that ad can legally be rejected
I just think it's a good thing for the ACLU to sue because it's a case that raises real questions
basically, I believe the ACLU an the engine that tests the system with unpopular cases, the whole point is that it's always with unpopular cases that free speech is eroded
I'm pretty sure that a transit system can reject an ad for pretty much any reason it sees fit. Take it to court. See what happens.
The ACLU has an absolute commitment to the First Amendment.
Oddly, some people who foam at the mouth about the Second don't care so much for purity regarding the First.

We were a family of 5 around 1969. My dad got a job with Dennison as a copier tech. The pay wasn't spectacular but they payed for full coverage with Blue Cross and they gave him a company car almost right off the bat.

re: #568 Mr Pancakes
I never really got the whole nationwide redo of the health care system... Why didn't they just create a program for the 20 million people (or so) that doesn't have coverage like me?
Because a lot of the people who do have coverage are holding on to it by the skin of their teeth, and paying extortionate rates.
My favorite health insurance moment, BTW, came when my father's Kaiser coverage rates skyrocketed in the mid-eighties.
He called to ask why. The guy said that the rates had been raised on 'men in your zip code'.
My father thought about this for a bit, and then said, "If I give you a sworn affidavit that I have been faithfully married to a woman for twenty years and have a subscription to Playboy, can I get my rates back down?"
The guy said, "Sir, I have no idea what you're talking about."

The folk over at Conservapedia ought to think of this next time they start their cars:
Relativity Powers Your Car Battery
You don't need a near-light-speed spaceship to see the effects of relativity--they can arise even in a slow-moving automobile. The lead-acid battery that starts most car engines gets about 80 percent of its voltage from relativity, according to theoretical work in the 7 January Physical Review Letters. The relativistic effect comes from fast-moving electrons in the lead atom. The computer simulations also explain why tin-acid batteries don't work, despite apparent similarities between tin and lead.
Electrons typically orbit their atoms at speeds much less than the speed of light, so relativistic effects can largely be ignored when describing atomic properties. But notable exceptions include the heaviest elements in the periodic table. Their electrons must orbit at near light speed to counter the strong attraction of their large nuclei. According to relativity, these high-energy electrons act in some ways as though they have greater mass, so their orbitals must shrink in size compared with slower electrons to maintain the same angular momentum. This contraction, which is most pronounced in the spherically-symmetric s-orbitals of heavy elements, explains why gold has a yellowish hue and why mercury is liquid at room temperature [1].
[...]
By switching relativistic parts of the models "on" and "off" the team found that relativity accounts for 1.7 volts of a single cell, which means that about 10 of the 12 volts in a car battery come from relativistic effects.
Without relativity, the authors argue, lead would act more like tin, which is just above it in the periodic table and which has the same number of electrons (four) in its outermost s- and p-orbitals. But tin's nucleus has only 50 protons, compared with lead's 82, so the relativistic contraction of tin's outermost s-orbital is much less. Additional simulations showed that a hypothetical tin-acid battery would produce insufficient voltage to be practical, because tin dioxide does not attract electrons strongly enough. Tin's comparatively loose s-orbital does not provide as deep an energy well for electrons as lead does, the team found. In the past, researchers only had a qualitative understanding of why tin-acid batteries never worked out.
[...]

I still think that if the insurance companies, the lawyers, the government and the lobbyists were out of the picture, costs would be much, much lower.
The games doctors have to play to make a living are bad for health care. I see the EOB's. Frankly, you couldn't get me to be a physician for that money. Too much BS and responsibility. Hospital politics alone would drive me to quit.

Hated the play--but I guess it is accurate historical fiction. Never Forget.
The girl playing Portia is pretty, but nothing much. Same for Jessica. The boys are boring cut-outs. Only really fun moment is when Bassanio kisses Antonio.
Pacino kind of sparked briefly over "What should I say to you? Should I not say, “Hath a dog money? Is it possible A cur can lend three thousand ducats?”", but mostly it's a very, very bland performance.
Seriously, "Hath not a Jew eyes" should scare the hell out of you. Shylock is absolutely simmering with hate and grief. And Pacino just doesn't pull it off.

Because trust me, it is. I worked in health care for almost 15 years, half my friends are in health care. Our system DESPERATELY needs legislation simply to get it to the point where it's merely garbage as opposed to outright inhumanity.

And whipping down the plains
And whipping down the plains
And whipping down the plains
And whipping down the plains
And whipping down the plains
And whipping down the plains
And whipping down the &%$#@*&!+~^$#@ plains
After a while, you get used to it. Then, when you go somewhere else and the wind isn't blowing all the time, you feel like something's missing.

Does the ACLU just reflexively take the wrong side on every issue or do they ever get it right?
IMO they're usually on the right side (so to speak) of the issues, but when they're wrong, they're really wrong. I give them credit for taking up for unpopular causes, but I don't give them cash. Some of their causes are unpopular for good reasons.

You guys? Meh. She's the Paris Hilton of the far right. "Attention Whore" fits her.
Hey, come on now. Palin is much, much smarter than Paris Hilton. Then again, so is a small soap dish.
Politically, I'm not that worried about Ms. Palin. History is liberally littered with Vice Presidential candidates and former Vice Presidents whose later Presidential campaigns went nowhere. Most recently, the candidacies of Joe Lieberman and Dan Quayle never got off the ground. Previous failures include Edmund Muskie and Henry Cabot Lodge. Robert Dole managed to get the nomination 20 years after he lost as Ford's running mate, but lost badly in the general election. Walter Mondale got the nomination four years after he lost the Vice Presidency, only to get shellacked in the general election. In fact, the last person to lose as a VP candidate and later win the Presidency was--FDR.
With Palin, it's a case of watch, contain, and wait for her to self-destruct enough times.

This one even got a scathing critique on Breitbart's "Big Hollywood": [Link: www.bing.com...]

I kind of disagree. Ed Koch really bought into the whole "war of civilizations" narrative and some of the rhetoric he used in that period was plenty ugly. For example, from a 2006 editorial:
In a recent audiotaped message, Osama bin Laden threatened the U.S. and Western civilization with monumental acts of terror, already planned and soon to be executed. He also offered a truce to the U.S. if we evacuate our troops from both Afghanistan and Iraq....
Here in the U.S., some who oppose our presence in Iraq and Afghanistan will demand that we agree to the truce. We may soon see banners in street demonstrations demanding that we accept bin Laden’s offer. At the height of the Cold War, there were defeatists in the U.S. and Europe who demanded that the democratic governments submit to the demands of the U.S.S.R. Their cry for NATO’s compliance with Soviet demands was summed up in the statement, “better red than dead.”
...
Most of us prefer Western civilization and democracy to Islamic dictatorship. We do not wish either to convert to Islam or pay tribute to Islamofascists. One observer, Andrew McCarthy, former U.S. attorney who prosecuted the blind sheikh terrorist Omar Abdel Rahman, told The New York Sun, “There is, regrettably a fifth column in this country.” McCarthy, now a senior fellow at the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies was, I believe, implicitly referring to those who would accept the truce in lieu of continuing to wage a lengthy war entailing deaths and injuries in order to protect our values.
Those so-called fifth columnists seek to sap our military and economic strength to make us unable to continue the fight against terrorists and insurrectionists in Iraq and Afghanistan. They seek to demean and weaken the President, not simply to oppose him politically.

I'm in my 50s. I'm a grandfather. I've never seen this kind of daily hatred and hostility directed toward an individual in my lifetime. And it's against a woman. What the hell did she do to you? The time, energy and vitriol spent on the Sarah Palin Hate Train is really unbelievable and pathetic. Hopefully cooler heads will prevail one day.
Oy Vey - were you a child in the 90's when Hillary Clinton was accused of everything from being a lesbian (while at the same time having an affair with that lawyer who killed himself) to murder? sarah is getting off scot free in comparison.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I have no animosity toward her. My issue is that it is just so painful to watch her make herself look so bad every time she opens her mouth in public that I just wish she could honor the victims of the violence in Arizona, and the rest of us, with a brief decade of silence.
