"He's a Northeastern Republican, not a conservative." Chucky boy then goes on to say Christie is his third choice. Priceless.

That also ties into that whole "Anyone who live in the Northeast doesn't live in the real America" bullshit.

Jackass.

Real America is a startlingly small country, when you remove all the bits that aren't it.

LOL, I think the only place "Real" America hates more than the Northeast is your stomping grounds, assuming your screen name is residence-inspired.

"All them hippies and gays is coming for our guns and bibles!"

Romney spokesman Richard Grenell, right on top of the issues that really matter.

I was raised in San Francisco, and still live in the Bay Area. I personally think we're actually ahead of the Northeast for most wingnuts, in terms of pure unAmericaninity. New York City probably heads the list though.

Yep. And that's why Clinton fired him as his campaign manager. Morris appeared graceful at the time.

But every since he's supported republicans, and badmouthed the Clintons and anyone/anything the Clintons support.

NYC does win by virtue of having Fox HQ. Kind of like Mordor with a wonderful arts/theatre scene.

Another right-wing asshole. Damn there's so many of them. I came across this guy a couple of weeks ago. He got butthurt because I told him that the Meltdown of 2008 happened under Bush's watch. Of course he was in the Bush WH for a couple of years.

According to Wikipedia, Grennel is gay.

Again, explain to me again why being a gay Republican is different than an African American Klansman?

14 Targetpractice  Fri, Apr 20, 2012 4:08:19pm

I'd say I was surprised, but that would be a lie. What I figure we're going to see in the weeks and months ahead is a rather vivid split in the party ranks, between the base that won't accept Romney under any circumstances and the "moderates" and party leadership who will latch on his ass like remora on a shark.

16 Achilles Tang  Fri, Apr 20, 2012 4:10:54pm

One glaring thing that I seem to be missing in critiques of Romney, The Business Man, is the bit about his wanting let GM, and Chrysler, go bankrupt.

Why have I not seen a repeated, ad nauseam, analysis of what that would have meant? How many suppliers would also have gone under. How many plants would have been shipped off to China for cents on the dollar?

Would even Ford have survived when many of their suppliers shut doors?

What about the banks that would have been left holding the bag on their loans? What about all the little bakeries making cookies that Romney doesn't like, who used to sell to auto workers?

Why can't the Democrats kill Romney on this alone, never mind the dog stuff?

re: #16 Flame Fin Tomini Tang

Because the GOP just obfuscate on that as well-- they claim that someone would have stepped in to keep them afloat, or that things would really be better in the long run, or that it was only because of unions that the companies went out of business in the first place.

But the Democrats do champion economic stuff. I get emails about it, I see the brags about it on the various candidates pages. But what it doesn't get is a lot of media play, because shit about dogs is more in line of the pathetic, entertainment media that we have these days.

I think no blog will ever be good enough for some people.

OK, so I'm putting my address into an online job application, and one of the countries I can be from is "Democratic Yemen" (No Longer Exists).

Turns out I can also be from the USSR (No Longer Exists), and East Germany (No Longer Exists), and several other places.

Why don't they take them off the list? It's not birthplace, it's your current address.

Is this a pre-exam for a world history instructor?

30 Stanghazi  Fri, Apr 20, 2012 4:49:22pm

This is from today, Ted's not too happy with his current circumstances, I would guess.

Activist and musician Ted Nugent has signed a plea agreement with federal prosecutors admitting he illegally shot black bear in Southeast Alaska two years ago, according to the agreement.

Nugent, 63, launched an arrow at a black bear while on a bow-hunting trip with friends in Tongass National Forest in May 2009. Federal prosecutors say he wounded the bear, attracted to the hunters by a bait station. Nugent's lawyer says the arrow grazed the animal and it scampered off alive.

I'm reporting my APO chapter to the University next week. They did nothing about the person who bashed me for being Autistic, and treated me with neglect at best.

I'll make sure the APO chapter never neglects anyone else. Even if it means the destruction of this chapter. They didn't give a damn about me, I don't give a damn about them. They can go to hell.

Hitch's last words:

And then his last words. As he lay dying, he asked for a pen and paper and tried to write on it. After a while, he finished, held it up, looked at it and saw that it was an illegible assemblage of scribbled, meaningless hieroglyphics. "What's the use?" he said to Steve Wasserman. Then he dozed a little, and then roused himself and uttered a couple of words that were close to inaudible. Steve asked him to repeat them. There were two:

"Capitalism."

"Downfall."

I don't know anything about Mike Smerconish's politics, but I lived in the Philly area a long time ago, and I always admired the way he stood up for the family of murdered police officer Daniel Faulkner, in what at the time was a stunning example of craziness from the liberal side. That was a very sad case.

I'm showing my age, but there was a time when not all the silliness came from the conservative side.

Seems like Romney planned this well. With a gay person on his payroll, he's saying to independent voters that he's not an extreme social-issues conservative. And he's confident that even though he has a gay employee, the extreme social-issues conservatives will still hate Obama more than they dislike Romney.

Ever wonder when Romney was going to start pivoting to the center?
