Mike Huckabee Goes There - Connects Planned Parenthood and Benghazi

Also compares fetal tissue donations for research to “selling brake pads for a Buick”
Politics • Views: 50,771

With the ridiculous kangaroo court conducted against Planned Parenthood president Cecile Richards today in the House of Representatives, Republicans everywhere are all worked up and trying to outdo each other with over-the-top attacks against the women’s health organization.

And nobody is further over the top than presidential candidate Mike Huckabee, who actually found a way — not a good way, but a way — to link Planned Parenthood to another perennial GOP fake outrage. Yes, Huckabee is doing the Benghazi Boogaloo again.

Notice the lovely “meme graphic” his staff prepared for this insanely hateful statement.

But Huckabee wasn’t finished. Despite the fact that 7 states have now conducted investigations and found absolutely no evidence that Planned Parenthood is illegally “selling baby parts,” Huckabee stated outright that they “harvest human organs to be sold like brake pads for a Buick.”

This has been today’s example of despicable deliberate dishonesty from the party that holds the patent on it.

I’ll be sure and tell my nurse friend and PP part-timer that she’s not providing health care. Because those STDs just diagnose and treat themselves.

Asshole. I really hope he drops out of the race next. He’s the most unapologetically backwards of that entire lot.

He makes it sound like the tissue being donated is being sold as spare parts. For who, other fetuses? Where do they keep their wallets?

Borges observed that those living through great moments in history are rarely aware of them at the time. This is different. Huckabee has moved us within reach of a Unified Theory of Derp.

This is the same guy who compared his “renting” his email list to quacks selling a “weird spice, kitchen-cabinet cure” for diabetes and a cancer cure hidden in biblical verses to CNN selling ads for “catheters or adult diapers”.

He is…uh…not real good with comparisons.

Not to mention the cost of the tools to swap baby parts. The wrenches alone will set you back a bundle. High costs like that are what kept Indoor Baby Racing from catching on.

Everything that a woman does without the consent of her husband (and she must always have a husband) is an abortion. Washing your hands, an abortion. Going out in public, an abortion. Getting that pain in your gut checked out, an abortion.

That is why we must defund Planned Parenthood.

Cumulus Media, the second largest radio conglomerate in the country and home to Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity, underwent a board shakeup in which brothers Lew and John Dickey have been removed from their No 1 and No. 2 posts at the company.

Cumulus’ stock has fallen by 18% this year, and a share of stock is now trading at 69 cents.

I bet not a one of these douchecanoes have even been inside a PP office. Which by the way looks like EVERY OTHER DOCTOR’S OFFICE in any neighborhood. Except the rich people’s neighborhoods, since PP offices aren’t appointed with fine décor and fancy furniture.

God this pisses me off to no end. My daughter lives in Appalachia. The fuck biscuits there got the local PP office shut down. There is now NO Ob/Gyn care there. Once that left, so did the two local pediatricians. The nearest town with either specialty is an hour away. I have 4 grandkids there, this bullshit has a ripple effect. All these men behind this crap deserve the misery of untreated hemorrhoids, forever. Bastards.

I’m watching someone engage with one of these asshats on Twitter and they’re insisting that thanks to the ACA, there’s no need for what PP does anymore.

Of course, their twitter profile makes me suspect they are interested in dismantling the ACA, but they’re not mentioning that part.

When Cumulus went public in April 2002, they were trading in the $15-17/share range. They got up to $22 in December 2003, and then took a dive. By November 2008, they were trading under a dollar a share. Doesn’t look like they’ve closed above $8 a share since then.

The rage, vitriol, and disgust directed at the thought that women are in fact citizens who have rights to make decisions about their own bodies - and that there are places that support them in this - that’s pretty damn terrifying, honestly. That there are so many people with this much hatred towards women as equals still.

And I see women opening up on this issue to try to make it clear why this matters, and so many people - in a lot of cases, men - regard that as unimportant. Or think they have a right to know that information just to show the little woman how ignorant she was, and how much better it would have been if they had just listened to the men in the first place.

I want to believe that we as a group of humanity are better than this overall, but some days it is really, really fucking difficult.

How anyone under 30 can be a staunch Republican in 2015 astounds me but I see it daily in my younger co-workers. It’s weird. My 20’s had me wavering between being a pseudo Riot Grrl feminist in the grunge era to pretending I was a libertarian because I’d read Ayn Rand and now I’m somewhere in the middle between the two and voting Democratic on a consistent basis.

For many people - regardless of age - paying attention to politics just takes too much energy. They want to go for dinner and drinks, play with kids after dance class or soccer practice, unwind after a long day of work. The last thing they want to think about is politics, so it becomes a default “I’m on Team Red and Team Blue is bad.” They buy into something their parents told them and never question it.

Just to give you an idea of exactly HOW fucking obsessed our society is with tits, breast augmentation is hands down the most common cosmetic surgical procedure.

Just pause and let that sink in for a second, it’s only really marketed at all to a little over half the population, and yet it is the most commonly performed cosmetic surgery. Pretty much the entire fucking country has noses, and they’re sitting right there in the middle of our goddamned faces to be noticed every time someone looks at us. But we’ve maganged to fuck women’s head up so much over their tits that those get worked on more. On top of that, the surgical procedure for tit enhancement is far more invasive, involving the literal implantation of foreign objects into the body.

Why no byline

The author is an 18-year-old Laney College student who originally wrote this as a class assignment. Her identity was confirmed by her professor, and the account of abuse was corroborated in court records reviewed by The Chronicle. Her adoptive father was convicted in Alameda County Superior Court of 10 counts of aggravated sexual assault on a child, one count of forcible rape and two other counts of sexual abuse. He was sentenced to a determinant term of 32 years in prison to be followed by an indeterminant term of 150 years to life. Although the author was willing to allow her byline, The Chronicle has made an extremely rare decision to publish it without one because of the sensitivity of the subject matter and the potential that descriptions of her abuse in the public arena would subject her to short and long-term consequences.

Wow. That’s not an abundance of caution either, the Chronicle made a very responsible decision to shield this young author’s identity due to the very real danger women like her face from fanatical anti-choice fanatics.

Carson previously told CNN — which the national debate over the flag was raging and it was removed from the South Carolina state Capital — that one of his Maryland neighbors was coaxed into taking down a Confederate flag.

He said that when he moved to a new home in rural Maryland, a neighbor put up a Confederate flag.

“I guess as a message to us,” Carson said.

The other neighbors responded by flying American flags, which Carson believes “shamed” the neighbor into taking down the Confederate one, he said.

Oh…the HORROR! Using an American flag to shame someone into taking down the loser flag…

re: #184 BeachDem

The bad news: I leave in 35 hours for a 17-day work trip.
The good news: I had no time to watch the idiots on parade at the PP “hearing.”

The bad news: I didn’t get to see Cecile stand up against the lunacy.
The good news: I didn’t have to watch the lunacy, so my blood pressure remains low.

The bad news: I will be working pretty much non-stop while on the road.
The good news: I will not have time to watch any of the upcoming political insanity.

The bad news: Many of the most blatant morons (Gowdy, Mulvaney) are from SC.
The good news: I didn’t have to hear their innocuous blathering.

Man, talk about a committee full of Republican LOSERS.

“There always comes a point where they’re trying to spot a trend, which would be great. The year that Mamma Mia! and Sex and the City were both gigantic hits internationally [the media were saying] ‘Now, beyond a doubt, we’ve proven giant summer blockbusters with women will change [the industry]…’ Nothing changed.

“And it happened to me twice. That’s how I became aware of the phenomenon. After Thelma & Louise, which was pretty noticed and potent and significant, [people were saying] ‘This changes everything! There’s going to be so many female buddy movies!’ and nothing changed. And then the next movie I did was A League of Their Own, which was a huge hit and all the talk was, ‘Well now, beyond a doubt, women’s sports movies, we’re going to see a wave of them because this was so successful.’ That’s balls. It took 10 years until Bend It Like Beckham came out. So, there was no trend whatsoever.

ok, I bit and went to the old Drudge Report (it’s had to have been a decade since I’ve been there). The headline links to… Briebart. And a video/recounting of something said by Jose Diaz-Balart on MSNBC. Problem is, Diaz-Balart probably isn’t the best source for reporting on Cuba, given that his father was a pre-revolution politician in Cuba and his aunt was Castro’s first wife.

That’s not to say Cuba has become rainbows, ponies, rum, and cigars - but Diaz-Balart is most likely in the “not until the Castros are in prison/dead” camp.
