If Trump gets elected and goes forward with even half the shit he’s promising, I could see other countries putting together their own alliances without us, and asking us to take our soldiers, ships, planes, tanks, etc off their territory. We will have become and unreliable tenant, and nobody wants an unreliable tenant with a lot of guns.

Remember the BURGER ROBOT WILL TAKE AWAY ALL YER MINIMUM WAGE JERBS!!!!1!! from 4 years ago? They are opening their own restaurant==>

The burgers will probably be much pricier than McD, because the burger-robot-making folks want to get paid a whole bunch more than $15/hr for their machine. Also, having their own restaurant means total control of the machines, they will not want to sell or even lease to fast food franchises.

I swear, this is the perfect theme music for the 2016 GOP convention. The orchestra is trying to sound majestic and triumphant, but it sounds like a bunch of terrified elephants on a runaway train in the process of derailing. That’s the sound you get when inexperienced players attempt Thus Spake Zarathustra, aka the theme from 2001: A Space Odyssey.

Seriously, listen to this and imagine it at the convention and try not to laugh.

Has anyone found anything better?

Quite true. Just the other day I was pointing out the two groups I have to reign in legal precedent wise. The extreme critic who is rhetorically well served by that same claim as how easy it is to get powerful weapons, and the idiots like that guy that sued and lost. A loss easy to predict.

By the way Calif. Gov. Jerry Brown signed further restrictions ending sale of the tool release magazine version of the AR-15 and similar, and signed a B/G check to buy ammunition. There was another bill, written quite vague, and he declined to sign that one.

Heller has a huge upside, if unpopular none the less.

Looks like Sheldon Adelson is keeping his powder dry…

Many were hoping casino magnate Sheldon Adelson, who spent nearly $100 million in the 2012 presidential race , would save the day by starting his own pro-Trump super PAC to provide a trusted safe haven for donors.

But after Trump’s polling numbers tanked with his race-based criticism of a federal judge and response to the Orlando shooting, Adelson has put his plans on hold. The Las Vegas billionaire is “not actually starting a PAC despite what has been reported,” his spokesman said.

Meanwhile the billionaire Koch brothers, whose outside network of groups once promised $900 million this election, are focusing — for now — on congressional and other races.

Politico has a post today about Trump’s poor ground game. Many of the GOPers who were interviewed for the article don’t seem to be taking Trump’s presidential run seriously. One of them asked, “What presidential campaign?” Another called his campaign “the embodiment of chaos.” Trump did a lot of bragging in the GOP primary, which appeared to dazzle many into voting for him. He’s playing in the big leagues now, and his weaknesses in regard to leadership skills, organizing a well-run campaign, and fundraising are clearly showing that he’s all talk, no substance.

So I’m fixin’ to leave town in a month or so to move in with the folks until I find a job again. And one of the things I’ve been pre-regretting is having to give up comics, since it’ll be a two-hour drive to get to the nearest comics shop. I’ll put a bunch of trade paperbacks on my Christmas list — but they just announced a new series I’m already disappointed that I’ll miss, as it appears to be the most patriotic comic book of all time: U.S. Avengers.

Dok Zoom has a nice story to start the holiday weekend:

Nice Time! Gay Syrian Refugee Pretty Darn Happy To Be In Boise. Yes, The One In Idaho

Idaho is a great place to live. I was born in southern CA, but raised in Idaho from the age of 7. I don’t think I have ever met a militiaman.

If you want to grow up outdoors back backing, fishing, floating rivers, camping off the side of the road, those places actually still exist. Oh and most people do not give a shit if you are a gay Syrian refugee. Stereo types on both sides are not really all that useful.

MrBWS told me he watched a Hillary ad on TV last night and was really impressed with it. He said it was so good to see a political ad that was positive, that spelled out what the candidate planned to do and, most importantly, did NOT waste a single second bashing the other candidate. He really REALLY liked that Donald wasn’t even alluded to in the ad, much less mentioned.

That Trump ads production values are so low for the same reason that Nigerian bank scammers continue to claim they’re from Nigeria. They’re selecting for the most gullible and idiotic members of society. Microsoft’s research wing published a paper on this awhile ago. Basically it’s a tactic designed to avoid wasting valuable man hours. Scammers need to do everything they can to whittle down the amount of time they spend trying to convince a mark to give them money, so by making the pitch into essentially one giant red flag they’re sifting through the audience for only the dumbest, most credulous motherfuckers imaginable.

I noticed that last night too. It’s smart of Hillary to use her TV ad time this way, but to be fair she has the luxury of doing so because she has Elizabeth Warren and others working as brutally effective attack dogs. So Clinton can occupy the high ground while her surrogates simultaneously deliver Trump a non-stop series of nut-uppercuts.

The logical thing to do for the Republican ticket in 2016 is to have the presidential and VP nominees be Trump’s mouth and anus.

The only difficulty here is deciding if it’s mouth/anus 2016 or anus/mouth 2016 for team GOP.

It’s similar in function to the antisemitic Coincidence Detector, which was pulled, except it tracks right-wing extremists and instead of adding ((())) it adds swastikas. Georgia GOP’s director of minority engagement was at the podium. He spoke about how we should want “reasoning skills” and “substance” in who we support for President, which I couldn’t agree with more. He also said he sees those qualities in Donald Trump, which makes me question whether Mr. Smith has the same definitions for those terms that I do.

Donald has a well-documented history of promoting conspiracy theories, and not even the sort that he had to think up and rationalize; he’s just gullible enough to regularly believe the nonsense other people put in front of him, without pausing to question it.

I really think he just spews out whatever is in his mind. He does a 180 every other day. He lies openly. He says absolutely nothing all the time, but throws soundbites, like “we are looking into that”….WTF is “we”? Promise everyone something. Just talks in circles. GOP handbook 101. “Who To Fear Today.” He’ll protect you. Hire you. Hurt people for you. Why, he’ll do the unthinkable for you. And if you can’t get the pandering ass kiss of a man in a business suit wearing a ball cap, who spent his entire life fucking the little guy….to show he’s for the regular working man….. Man needs to fall hard. Real. Hard.

50 state loss. (Won’t happen, but should.)

Barton’s God is kind of a dick, like Barton.
He also has a sweet, heavenly voice, like Urkel Barton
He appears every Friday night, like Urkel Barton.

That’s the Portsmouth Sinfonia, an orchestra composed of musicians playing instruments they didn’t know how to play, mixed with complete non-musicians. Some of the funniest music ever created.

Here’s their hilarious version of the William Tell Overture…

They’ve even performed at the Royal Albert Hall.

I just need to see the toe tag and make a visual. Dead political career. Dead celebrity life. Dead bank account. Off to obscurity as a guest referee on a minor league rassling circuit.

Yep. It’s frustrating how so many people don’t get that about platforms though.

Meanwhile the GOP platform is in a twilight zone between nightmare and cesspit.

Paul Manafort said last Sunday on one of the AM “news” programs that Trump saying whatever comes into his mind without having to think is a very good thing. I think Trump has that way of talking because he’s been richer than most Americans all of his life, and he doesn’t think he has to respect those who aren’t in his socioeconomic group, or those whom he thinks don’t “measure” up to his standards. His supporters are among the most gullible persons on the planet at this time, if they believe he has their best interests at heart. The guy is a narcissist whose main concern is Donald Trump. It doesn’t bother him that he changes positions from one day to the next, or one month to the next, or one year to the next, because, he’s Donald Trump, and he reserves for himself, and himself only, the right to do it.

Yes. I agree. There is Donald. Then there is everybody else. All his life. He loves to hear himself. He’s magnificent. Tells himself daily… But since he’s been talking nonstop and we can tune in and witness that spectacle every single day…. you have to wonder just how effing stupid the people were he conned. Him in a room, talking to people with large amounts of money, like he talks to his supporters? What kind of vegetable were they? You just have to realize he tanked Casinos. Which are money printing machines. Casinos. Plural. How. The. Hell. Did. You. Get. Money. From. People?

Don’t people ever stop to think that having an educated, comfortable, dare I say it? happy, population with a good safety net improves life for those of us who were born into comfortable circumstances? If nothing else, those other people won’t be breaking into my house or being rude on the roads because they wouldn’t be frustrated or frightened and they do have something to lose if they screw up too much.
Of course, you do have to give up some of our natural human desire for higher status.

Then there are all the assorted ‘selfless’ reasons to favor general levels of happiness as well.

GAWD, the way he says so many things twice in a row drives me nuts. What a stupid, annoying habit. It’s one of the reasons I won’t watch him and only occasionally read what he says (the other reason being his repulsive physical appearance—*gag*).
