Let’s see, he’s read from a teleprompter, blamed President Bush, told us he would cut waste out of the federal budget and made sure we knew he was going to be in office for a long time to come.
Move along, nothing new to see here.

The one thing that most everyone can agree upon is that the Obama administration quickly shelved any notion of “bi-partisanship” — Obama is one of the most devisive of Presidents yet (in terms of policies.) 109 | lostlakehiker Wed, Apr 29, 2009 5:37:18pm |
Well, he is going to be in office for a long time. 4 years, less 100 days.
Let’s hope the rest of his term is less of a parade of gaffes and spendathons than the first stretch. An economy can only take so much mishandling before it gets seriously sick. He’ll have to take the advice of the grown-ups if he’s to win a second term.
His program to outlaw medical care by taking it under the wing of the State, where it will become a system in which you go to die in the waiting room instead of dying at home, where the staff work by union rules and by the clock, where the doctors are selected and promoted according to criteria which have little to do with medical knowledge, skill, or effectiveness, and where budgetary constraints mean that most people will never have access to CT scanners or any other sort of advanced technology, must somehow be derailed, if he is to hold any of what popularity remains to him and then win a second term.
His program to release the GITMO-held contingent of al Qaeda is less a danger to his continuation in office, because in the event that they are released, their new efforts at terrorism will not necessarily be all that effective. These are, after all, the losers of the first round.
His program to put ACORN in charge of the U.S. census is a non-starter, even with his own party. The institutional continuity of the nation is robust. He’ll come, he’ll go, and the U.S. will still be standing.

re: #41 livefreeor die
If he’s so f—-ing amazing, why does he need a teleprompter for every speech and how come he has to prearrange the questions from the press?
All modern presidents have used either teleprompters or notes. It’s absolutely normal.
Historically, the sequence of question-answering has been to take questions from the wire services, then the networks, then others as time allows. Obama has changed that up somewhat by taking questions from other press outlets (e.g., Univision, Ebony). And the choices vary from press conference to press conference. The presidents know in advance who they will call on, but the reporters don’t know who’ll be called on, and the presidents don’t know the questions.

He just blamed illegal immigration on companies “actively recruiting them”. That is total horse shit. This is just another swipe at the “big business” community. Fact is this happens but it doesn’t hit the radar screen in terms of explaining the scope of it. It is small business, under the pressure of competition, that hires those cats that are not being entrepreneurial with lawn businesses and such. There is no choice in who you hire if you are a construction contractor for example and wish to survive.
Big business bad …

At this moment, all of the pigs leave the farmhouse in single file, all upright on two legs. Finally, Napoleon emerges from the farmhouse, upright and carrying a whip.
It is the most shocking thing the animals have ever seen. It goes against everything that they have been taught up to then. Just as it seems that someone might object, the sheep break into a deafening chorus of “Four legs good, two legs better.” They went on for five minutes, during which the pigs walked briefly around and then returned to the farmhouse. The chance to protest is gone. Clover goes to the gable wall and brings Benjamin with her. She asks Benjamin to read for her what is on the gable wall. All the commandments are gone, and all that is written there now is “All animals are equal, But some animals are more equal than others.”

Nancy Pelosi’s Sour Grapes
If Democrats regain control of the House of Representatives, the San Francisco Democrat will not only be the first female speaker, but also the richest. The liberal Center for Responsive Politics puts her net worth as high as $55 million.
There is no record of Pelosi’s ever returning her portion of those “tax cuts for the rich” to the U.S. Treasury. Or any record, for that matter, of using her (dare we use the word?) windfall to give the workers at her Napa Valley vineyards a raise.
As Peter Schweizer notes in his best-selling expose of liberal hypocrisy, “Do As I Say (Not As I Do),” part of the fortune of this defender of the working man is a Napa Valley vineyard worth $25 million that she owns with her husband. The vineyard produces expensive grapes for high-end wines. Napa grapes bring up to $4,000 a ton compared with $300 a ton for, say, San Joaquin grapes.
But Pelosi, winner of the 2003 Cesar Chavez award from the United Farm Workers, hires only nonunion workers and sells these grapes to nonunion wineries. Schweizer places Pelosi in a chapter titled “Workers of the World Unite Somewhere Else.” UFW members need not apply at the Pelosi family vineyards.
Which makes Pelosi’s steadfast opposition to any attempts to enhance border security and stem the flow of illegal immigration into the U.S. all the more interesting since she seems to be among those rich employers who financially benefit from a steady supply of cheap foreign labor.
She led the opposition and voted against the Secure Fence Act of 2006 recently signed into law by President Bush to build a 700-mile fence along the U.S.-Mexican border.
She opposed the Real ID Act of 2005, a valuable anti-terror tool, while bragging that Democrats under her leadership “defeated Republican attempts to restrict the easily forged Matricula Consular card” issued by the Mexican government.
She voted against a bill to make employers such as herself financially liable for hospital costs if undocumented employees seek medical attention, preferring that either taxpayers foot the bill or that hospitals close under the burden, as many are doing throughout the Southwest.
In 2005 she voted against barring the issuance of driver’s licenses to illegal aliens and against a requirement that businesses use an electronic system to verify whether new hires have the legal right to work in the U.S.
Nor has Pelosi been a fan of employer sanctions against the hiring of illegal aliens. In 2003, she accused immigration officers of conducting “terrorizing raids” on Wal-Mart stores that led to the arrest of more than 300 illegal aliens.
Loraine Stewart, a farmworker advocate with Napa Valley Community Housing, in a 2004 San Francisco Chronicle article estimated that half of the migrant labor force in the valley consisted of undocumented workers, without whom “not one bottle of wine would get made here.”
The people coming across our southern border aren’t just seeking better lives. They’re joined by drug smugglers and an assortment of people with criminal records. There are also what Immigration and Customs Enforcement calls OTMs (Other Than Mexicans) among whom potential terrorists could sneak in undetected.
Pelosi apparently puts her financial interests above the security of this nation and the safety of its citizens, exploiting undocumented workers in the process. If the people at Immigration and Customs are looking for an employer to check out, we know this little vineyard in the Napa Valley.

It was boring as hell, but given the fact that the auto companies were about to fail — which could have caused very serious problems for the economy — his answer that his first priority was to stop being a shareholder in the auto industry was pretty good.
I was kind of boring. He did improve after a while. Seemed like they asked him a lot of softball questions. To be honest I kept thinking to myself “he sucks but he’s good.” At this rate and in consideration of the direction that the GOP has decided to take we might be looking at him being office for 8 years.

Moronic Convergence: Vlams Belang MP Johan Demol promotes Scientology in Brussels
Johan Demol, MP for Vlams Belang, appearing in a Scientology commercial praising Scientology’s drug program, and defending Scietnology in a recent Belgian documetary, while wilfully ignoring recent convictions and deaths:The relevant part starts at 4:30.
It comes from the documentary series Devoir d’enquête. The episode aired on January 23rd, and English subtitles have recently become available.
Both Vlams Belang representatives in this video, Hugo Coveliers and Johan Demol, look like advocates for full freedom of religion here, which seems to break with their xenophobic policies.
Apropos, I also recommend this French documentary from last year:

Thats the problem with the MSM and TV in general…consider the history channtl. IT has some great real programming on important topics like world wars and the like. But it also has specials on UFO’s and chupacabras and space men that helped build the pyramids. To a smaller minded individual (i.e. the general population) this can be detrimental to their conception of what is fact and what is unproven theory. TV provides a soapbox and legitimizes crazy wack-o’s like ron paul, mikhale morre, and those crazy anti-vac people. AND ITS GETTING DANGERIOUS!

Can you get “amalgam Tattoo” on your gums- sometimes but there is no harm from that. Scientology and the Birch society, both of which are so popular with the American far right, have a long history together. It goes back to the original Fair Tax proposal and Scientology’s vendetta against the IRS. Maybe that’s the connection.

And Charles isn’t kidding about the fascism. Not only do they control their members with threats of disconnection and regular interrogations, as well as promising to exterminate psychiatry etc. L. Ron Hubbard advocated eliminating homosexuals, critics and other undesireable people:
Science of Survival by L. Ron Hubbard:
There are only two answers for the handling of people from 2.0 down on the tone scale, neither of which has anything to do with reasoning with them or listening to their justification of their acts. The first is to raise them on the tone scale by un-enturbulating some of their theta by any one of the three valid processes. The other is to dispose of them quietly and without sorrow.
Below 2.0 on the tone scale are considered to be about 20% of the population. Homosexuals and other “sexual deviants” are 1.1 on the tone scale. And 2.5% of the population are incurable SPs. Off to the camps with you!
Not that it will ever be a realistic danger though - only for those who ended up inside or were born inside.

Think of it this way. Probably the 2 most used “medications” are aspirin and silver fillings. If there was a real problem, people would be dropping like flies or voting Democratic —just joking, no reason this can’t be fun now. No, but Scientology mailing lists and hangaround lists were telling their members to vote for Ron Paul, and to vote for certain candidates for other public office. They have a couple of PACs, most prominent ones called Citizens for Social Reform (CSRPAC) and Florida Citizens for Social Reform (FCSR), and the CCHR is closely linked to this. These emails have been leaked on wikileaks.
And through the National Foundation for Women Legislators, which isn’t a pure Scientology group but highly influence by them, people like John Coale and Kelly Preston socialize with with Nancy Pelosi, Hillary Clinton, etc. and promote their anti-drug and anti-psychiatry stance.
Scientology likes Ron Paul because he’d let them pay less taxes and do their cult stuff without too much interference.

I just heard a clip from the Teleprompter’s speech. He waxes eloquent about women needing the personal freedom and privacy to make a decision about abortion, in consultation with their doctors, family members, etc. He is adamant that it be a personal decision, without government interference.
I agree with his point (for first trimester abortions, anyway). Now why can’t the rest of us have the personal freedom—without government interference— to decide less weighty issues, such as what kind of lightbulbs we want to have in our house, how much water our toilet uses, how much of our hard-earned money we get to keep?
Once he socializes medicine, will Teleprompter be arguing for autonomous medical decisions and private consultation with doctors? I doubt it. Republicans need to start turning his talking points against him.

Ok, alright then, much better. Just poured a three fingers of Gentleman Jack. I need advice here. Daughter called and SIL has severe, acute Pneumonia. Went to Urgent Care Clinic (Phoenix) they did not test for Swine Flu. Basically, gave him a shot in the ass and gave him antibiotics and sent him home with no instructions. Every bone in his body hurts, he has a fluid pocket in one lung, temp 103 and can’t lay down cause he feels like he is drowning. She’s (3 months preg) scarred, called her doctor’s office and was told that if she comes down with it to go to emergency room. No Tamiflu, no screening, not tested, not quantined. Now you know why this whole thing is spreading so fast. Seems to me with a level 5 pandemic they would be testing for flu. She wants me to get on a plane and go down. Whadda ya all think. This is crazy.

re: #610 Capitalistincharge
If it were my family, I would advise a second opinion, stat. Forget the urgent care clinics (here they are mills, get ‘em in and get ‘em out). Tell her to get him to a hospital emergency room or see his primary care physician tomorrow (or at least notify PC physician.) With those symptoms and your descriptor of the level of care, a second visit to someone competent is in order, IMO. ESPECIALLY since she is pregnant. I would want him tested to rule this flu out or in. Can she have the tamiflu as a preventative when pregnant?
I would hold off on travel until you know more concrete, but it sounds like she could use your support and assistance. 103 is very serious. He should be seen again.

What connection do Nancy Pelosi and Hilary Clinton have with the right wing?
None. Scientology are opportunists bi-partisan opportunists when it comes to politicians, but they prefer politicians like Ron Paul, as you can see in the next thread. I posted some emails where they tell their members to vote for Ron Paul in the primary.

Thanks Pink…don’t you agree that if this is the way the healthcare community is handling this thing, we are in serious trouble? Yesterday, he as perfectly healthy and this morning at 6 AM he is very sick. Unfortunately, like most Alpha males, he doesn’t have a PC physician since they moved there 11 months ago. She did call her OB/GYN and they are the ones who gave her the light advice. I’m baffled at the lack of concern and pissed at what is going on right now.

Yes, agreed on the horrible state of health care in this country, but that’s for another day. Your immediate concern and focus has to be on your family. I wish NY Nana were here, she is a retired nurse and would have precise advise for you. In fact, hang on, I will find her and ask her to come to this thread.

Hi,
I am livid. This is HusseinCare™, and it is just starting. It seems that it is pneumonia, and IMHO, as he has fluid in his lung, and especially with a 3-months pregnant wife, who really does not need the stress of being a care giver at this point, he should have immediately been admitted, and had a chest tube inserted to help deal with the fluid. It does not sound like influenza, but they still should have tested.
Is there any other hospital in their area? Please see if someone down there can help out in getting him admitted. This is unconscionable.
/Is he an illegal alien? They would admit him ASAP. Tell him to pretend not to speak English.

Nana! There you are. Thanks for responding.
I have a friend who works in a hospital. You are right. They are under gvmt directive to give premium care to illegals. He has told me, if ever I am in dire need, to pretend that I do not speak English and I will get treated with kid gloves.

re: #630 NY Nana
Thank god you’re here NY Nana. I just spoke with him and he said he had to give alot of blood and urine for testing but they did not tell him what for. Also, has developed a rash that runs up the back of both legs to his hips. I told him that it was his immune system reacting to the infection. I think that’s right. I suggested that if he doesn’t feel better by morning or starts to feel worse then his wife needs to get him in the car and drive to an emergency room. What the hell is this and what would cause it to come on so suddenly. With the swine flu going around, you would think that they would be more proactive. As far a faking illegal, he is blond haired, blue eyed, all-american, executive type who, being from Wisconsin, couldn’t fake even an accent. Are we doing everything right so far?

re: #633 Capitalistincharge
I wish he could be admitted NOW…the rash could be a reaction to the meds, and I have had this too many times; I have a Medic Alert bracelet with a list of what I cannot be given. Please ask that he be taken there tonight. I would worry a lot, especially in view if what is happening now. And to allow his wife to be near him, and attend to him? Screw them.
Totally OT, but I speak Spanish as a second language, as I was an exchange student and lived in Mexico City…and there were blond, blue-eyed kids in my class, BTW. But seriously, it is, IMHO, imperative that he be hospitalized.
And they didn’t even explain what they were testing for? What have we come to?
Do you know if he has a chest tube inserted into the lung? That requires care…
642 | Capitalistincharge Wed, Apr 29, 2009 8:14:22pm |
{pink & NY Nana} Thanks for the support. As a side note to all of this, anyone who doesn’t believe life begins at conception I saw proof that it indeed does. This pregnant daughter of mine went in yesterday for an ultrasound and sent me the dvd. The 12 week old baby is only 7.2 cm, about the size of my middle finger, and it stretched and kicked and waved. I cried with amazed joy. She lost her first baby 2 years ago, due to molar pregnancy at 5 months and we almost lost her with hormone driven tumors. I think they need some support right now. I am looking at flights for this week-end.

Thanks. You have no idea what happens off-line if any Lizard needs help…so many good deeds are done, and no one, except the people involved, say a word.
Charles is our leader. ;) And he inspires us.
LGF is a place where everyone looks out for each other, be it an old timer, or a newbie.
This is not a hate sight, like the ones who start when they are justifiably banned, and use to spit on Charles and any lizards who dare speak against them.
/And they wonder why they are banned, and then they will keep on trying to register as a sockpuppet or 10, not knowing that Charles has eyes in the back of his head, along with ESP.

Ok, I don’t have time to review all of the above - can anybody give me a synopsis? I saw one question - how do you feel about the first 100 days and if that was the hardball that is all I need to know. I think I already know what he did say - blah blah blah - feel good - blah blah blah - pickin on me - blah blah blah - they don’t like me - blah blah blah - I inherited this mess - blah blah blah. Is this essentially correct?
My wife asked after I came back to watch Lost why don’t you watch this? You will complain about what he says but you won’t listen to him. I didn’t want to tell her that the horses ass only lies and complains about pickin on him and inheriting a mess blah blah blah - she should find that out for herself but, she was playing POGO on the laptop and didn’t listen herself.

Only about 600 comments? The novelty is wearing off. I wonder if most people are getting as bored by the “Obama show” as lizards are.
I know he’s a narcissist and like to hear himself talk, but he keeps comandeering the networks and having these town halls with synchopants. Maybe he should have started a band, but maybe he doesn’t have any talent for that and the left wing crazies already have someone to sing about tallying bananas. (O tallies votes and ACORN is the tallyman… Or maybe the other way around. Day-O). Anyway, O, it’s getting old.
STFU, go to your office and get some work done, like going over that budget line by line…
Oh yeah, and don’t forget to wash your hands, and not just metaphorically, like you’ve been doing for a 100 days.
