This picture says says a lot. The police are at the mercy of the crowd, and some cooler heads are protecting them. The woman with the out stretched arms got to me. A few of those cops must be having second thoughts about those kids.

brave gal.

Maybe Napolitano needs to follow the 24 hours rule. There are two stories, two headlines on CNN's front page right now...

Napolitano: No evidence of wider plot.
Disruptive passenger prompts new alert at Detroit airport.

I bet they hate it when that happens.

I saw that photo and I recall similar ones from earlier protests. I've also noticed that in some photos where there's a lone policeman who has been beaten and bloodied, there seem to be calmer people who've intervened and said "That's enough" and moved to protect the policeman further injury.

Protesters attack Basij

The chick in the car could not be happier about it.

That's because good folk know who the real enemy is and brutalizing a helpless cop would not help the cause.

I think the situation will get worse before it gets better there, and I feel there is nothing accidental about BiBi's call for Kadima to join a national unity government at this time.

Yes. It would just give the government another excuse for the brutal crackdown.

The cop's not helpless. Especially if it's the religious police. I'm not saying he deserves anything, but I don't feel sorry for him for any reason. He's part of the establishment. That's like trying to soft-soap the responsibilities of the Jewish Ghetto Police in Warsaw.

Walter, once he is disarmed, on the ground and surrounded by a crowd, he does not deserve to be beaten to death. He may be the face of a brutal dictator, but I would hope the protesters are better than that.

First off, did I say he should be "beaten to death?" Did I not say "I'm not saying he deserves anything...?" Of course I did. There you go putting words in my mouth again. Typical liberal tactic, over and over.

But on to what I did say. No, I would hope the protestors do what they need to do to take their country back from murdering thugs. This is revolt, not a fucking high school pep rally. End of story.

'Typical liberal tactic'--gosh, I would swear I've been called on the carpet here for generalizing about conservatives.

As to whether this is a revolt or not, only the next several days is going to tell us.

So... if you get called on the carpet, yell back. If you don't like it, say something. Avanti put words in my mouth. I find that done a lot by the left, personal anecdote, so what? If you want, call me on the carpet. Have a go at it. Have fun. Really.

May the regular people of Iran overcome their oppressors.
