Imagine my surprise that Lee Stranahan responded to my post with more clownish idiocy.

This is exactly what I said in the post. There’s no point engaging with these people; they’ll just double down and be even more stupid and insulting.

I expect the rest of the right wing blogosphere to follow suit. It’s pathetic what’s become of those people. They used to pride themselves on getting facts and logic correct — now they’re so consumed with hatred and paranoia they’ve turned into a huge joke. The world’s biggest echo chamber, with no deviation from the received wisdom allowed.

Left wing blogs have their own problems, but there’s much more real debate and honest argument going on there these days. I can’t even read most of the righty blogs any more; they’re just depressing.

Agreed, the right wing has collectively gone over the edge, with some exceptions here and there. The reasons may be diverse, from ideological opposition to partisanship to pure racism, but the end result is an “opposition” that’s gone out of its gourd. Next year is not going to be pretty, by any stretch of the imagination.

used to road trip Little Feat gigs, and a friend from Austin would invariably pop up somewhere…she is an expert tekillya drinker and always had a couple of $50-75 bottles to share…complete with little colored shot glasses and serving try…some of that stuff you could drink like water…good times

Gandhi didn’t hate anybody. He had some ideas about pacifism that would have been suicidal for a nation to follow, but he was no species of haters. Of course Jim Hoft can’t understand that, though I also think the action figure seller is grouping those figures in a way he should. Gandhi and Malcolm X can be in a “Great Leaders For Justice” category, while Lenin, Mao, and Guvara belong in the “Left-Wing Monsters” section.
