Speaking of secondhand hacks, Fox’s “A-team psychiatrist psycho” is about as delusional as they come: (my comments in parens)
As a medical professional it is readily apparent (obviously, proper sentence construction is NOT readily apparent)
that a President who tours the world apologizing for America, (didn’t happen)
who was part of a church in which the pastor preached “God damn America!” (context, aBlow, context)
and who admonished American entrepreneurs that they did not build their own businesses (not what he said, not even close)
is a President who has issues with the nation of which he is President. (his main issue is the morons in the GOP and at Fox)
The use of selected and edited comments of mine to attempt to “shoot the messenger” is an unfair attempt to impair my credibility. (PHYSICIAN, HEAL THYSELF, or shut the fuck up—yeah, that would actually be preferable.)

Maybe later tonight after he gets fueled up on some nice Kentucky Bourbon he can get back in his usual mode. I’m sure he will be there when his boy Teddy meets up with Mitch to do a little politicking and there will be a few extra bottles of the golden brown liquid of politics for him to hit.

Oh Fuck
Court to rule on health care subsidies
The Supreme Court, moving back into the deep controversy over the new health care law, agreed early Friday afternoon to decide how far the federal government can extend its program of subsidies to buyers of health insurance. At issue is whether the program of tax credits applies only in the consumer marketplaces set up by 16 states, and not at federally-run sites in 34 states.Rather than waiting until Monday to announce its action, which would be the usual mode at this time in the Court year, the Justices released the order granting review of King v. Burwell not long after finishing their closed-door private Conference.
By adding the case to its decision docket at this point, without waiting for further action in lower federal courts, as the Obama administration had asked, the Court assured that it would rule on the case during the current Term.

So, does Anthony Kennedy have the stones to take health insurance away from millions who now have it, going against the clear intent of the legislators, over ambiguous wording? Will Mr. Original Intent Scalia feel bound by that ambiguous wording, over and above what the guys who wrote it tell him they were trying to accomplish?
I can’t guess the probability of the former, but I place the latter at 1.

CJ Roberts may not want to be too radical here. His MO is to do as much damage as possible, while still preserving a veneer of respectability for the Supreme Court.

There’s no real doubt in my mind. Scalia will vote against them, even if he has to rewrite the law himself. And Kennedy will vote against because he can spin it in his head as a “states rights” issue.

Here’s the text of a letter sent out by the Dream Defenders, an NAACP youth group that took off from the Trayvon Martin killing. They might be a good vehicle for 2016 effort in this part of the country.
Peace family —
After a grueling election season, we find that a majority of the politicians that have been elected into office do not represent us or our issues. This reality has already started to affect the lives of all of our loved ones.
We’ve got to keep working hard to build something new. Will you donate to help us?
We applaud the campaign teams, the volunteers, the phone bankers, the door knockers, the sign holders, the event planners, and everyone who worked hard to make an impact. Even though the results of the election aren’t what we wanted, we have built more power and trained stronger leaders for the next fight.
Now that the election has passed, we see clearly what elected officials agenda will be over the next years:
• They are going to increase measures of criminalization.
• They are going to purge more voters.
• They are going to attack collective bargaining and workers rights.
• They are going to privatize everything from education to prisons to juvenile detention.
• They are going to continue militarizing police departments.
• They will continue to attack the LGBTQ community.
• They will continue to assert power and control over women’s bodies and their decisions.
• They will expand “gun rights” until even our children’s teachers are holding heat in the classrooms.
All of this makes our role as Dream Defenders VERY clear. We have to build something new.
We have to keep fighting and resisting these systems of oppression piece by piece all the while organizing and building the beloved community that we all deserve. Our latent potential rests in the independent power that will emerge as true leadership to our communities. Let’s keep working.
