A Hilarious, Utterly Berserk Fake 80s Action Comedy: KUNG FURY

Featuring the Hoff 9000

LGF contributor Sergey pointed out this short film in our comments, and it’s … well … unique. Way over the top, but hysterically funny. Probably not safe for work because it’s so insane.

Kung Fury is an over-the-top 80’s action comedy that was crowd funded through Kickstarter. It features Kung Fury, a Kung Fu renegade cop who travels back in time to kill his Nemesis, Hitler. The film features nazis, dinosaurs, vikings and cheesy one-liners.

The campaign that was launched in December 2013 was backed by more than 17 000 people who together gave more than $630 000.

As I said the other night, you can practically smell the cheese through your computer screen.

It’s awesome. I love how the lead character talks as if he has a mouth full of marbles.

On the Chuck Johnson front today, I think Chuck’s bad week is getting even worse.

He was running Google Adsense advertisements at his site - but I see today they’re completely gone. I checked the source code, and there are no links to the Google Adsense scripts that load the ads.

I have a strong feeling he got canceled by Google, maybe because of those “dick pics” he posted, which are a clear violation of the Adsense TOS. Or maybe because of his other hateful and racist content.

So now his sources of income are being cut off too.

How fun is this? I’m very impressed by the quality of the film, more so because the budget appears to be less than a million.

Kudos Charles on the Page features. This computer has no Microsoft office or even open Office. SSD so it’s not for clerical work.

I was just able to assemble a new Page without resorting to any outside tools at all. Just links and some images. Really nice. Thanks.

Smell the cheese? More like drown, in it in all its over-the-top brilliance. Watched this with two groups of friends yesterday and we needed to hit the pause button a lot on account of missing stuff due to all the laughter.
Well worth the wait, and mighty impressive IMHO considering it was done on a mere 600K budget.

Perhaps they dropped him after folks reported his vile stuff? One can only hope..
Most normal folks would probably take the hints by this point, but i get the impression that’s not gonna happen with the Ginger Menace

Get a load of this….

So Michelle Malkin in National Review did a piece on Bernie Sanders a few days ago, still whining about the underarm deodorant issue…

Ask Venezuelans How Sanders-Style Socialism Is Working Out for Them

Wow, horrible pic of some lady in a store with empty shelves and disgustingly dirty too — along with a caption “Venezuela’s Vibrant Economy”

So I did an image search and turned up this….

Defying the Laws of Physics at Walmart

Now it appears that this may be a Wal-Mart in Wisconsin, but it’s not clear from the story. But if you look at a larger version of the image, you can see the English signs in the background, so it’s clearly NOT from Venezuela.

Empty Shelves at Wal-Mart

So whoever posted this story to National Review purposely cropped out the English signs and then applied a dirty filter to it — because we all know Hispanic are filthy people.

In an argument with a wingnut friend of mine, his response was “It’s clearly a stock photo.” ORLY? Even if true, why crop it, make it dirty, and label it as a sign of Venezuela’s economy?

So, bottom line, a scare story about empty shelves that will plague the U.S. if Sanders is elected used a picture from a Wal-Mart in the U.S. that is having trouble keeping their shelves stocked.

I found this movie on Netflix last night and thought it very much spoke to the condition of poor women who have survived through the years as best they can. That this woman got away with it for 30 yrs without being discovered was amazing, but heartbreaking since her entire person was hidden in another persona created purely to survive and which she was willing to use to get a bit of what she thought was happiness. It was truly heartbreaking, although another character brought some light into an otherwise rather dark film.

I thought the film spoke rather brilliantly to the condition of women not just in 19th century Ireland, but in any era. It was a period piece, but with none of the Hollywood-ish overlay of today’s cultural memes, which would have spoiled it. Both Glenn Close and Janet McTeer were wonderful as Albert Nobbs and Hubert Page.

In any case it’s somewhere in the US.

One more thought: either they are using a stolen photo, in which case Janner can sue them. Or they’re lying.

I see Pauline Collins is in it, too. I used to really love her. Unlike me, though, she seems to be older than she was 40 years ago.///

I watched The Devil’s Violinist last night on Amazon. The actor playing Paganini is gorgeous but when he started playing the violin I was like whoa, no actor is that good. Sure enough he wasn’t acting. He’s violinist David Garrett, with whom I was not familiar before and he freaking blew my mind. This scene in particular:

This afternoon I bought 3 of his albums. : D
