WATCH LIVE: President Obama Speaks at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, Sans Trump

This is the last time President Obama will speak at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner. I don’t think Donald Trump is attending this year after being thoroughly embarrassed at the 2011 dinner, where he sat stone-faced and humorless as Obama ruthlessly dinged him for his support of conspiracy theories — a predilection he’s now turned into a presidential campaign with the added spice of white nationalism.

So we have that not to look forward to.

Big tough guy. I can’t wait until Obama hits the campaign trail for Hillary. If anyone can take some of the shine off that orange douche, It’s the president.

It was rather pointed, but honestly, tell me there’s anything healthy about the state of journalism after witnessing the political campaign, or any other news development, of the last year. Perhaps that’s just as well: Obama makes a fine Good Cop. But I’m looking forward to Hillary as the Bad Cop.

Let’s start with… the whole reason California has the strongest gun control laws in the country (the Mulford Act), proposed-endorsed-signed by Gov Reagan (with heavy lobbying support from NRA President Charlton Heston)… was because the Black Panthers supported open carry.

And your evidence that the NRA and the GOP want to keep guns from black people is what, exactly? With the NRA it’s gonna be hard to answer, given that the plaintiff in the NRA supported McDonald vs Chicago case was black. And the NRA has supported a number of lawsuits filed by black people against restrictionist gun laws.

Not really hard to find that evidence, you know.

Scott Tenorman! That episode got to me. I found it incredibly disturbing because Trey and Matt basically made Cartman into the most depraved psychopathic cartoon character in one fell swoop. I did not laugh during the chili cook-off scene, I did not laugh at all. I was disgusted and horrified more than anything. I’ve seen that episode twice. The second time wasn’t any better. Live and learn, I guess. The NRa got to see how bad the law made things for gun sellers soon thereafter and had to labor mightily in the Congress to get the Firearms Owners Protection Act (FOPA) (which revised many bad provisions of the GCA) passed in 1986.

The irony remains, though, since the man who signed the Mulford Act into law, Ronald Reagan, also signed the FOPA into law.

re: #191 De Kolta Chair

She looks like she’s doing pretty well. They had to keep her in ICU for a day longer than they had originally planned because every time she’d sit up, her blood pressure would drop. They had to bypass three arteries, one of them at 99%, and I kind of wonder if it was just her body not knowing what to do with so much blood flow.

One of the things the hospital gave was a big heart pillow with everyone to sign. The pillow was in the shape of a valentines heart, but it had a picture of a human heart and major arteries. One of the doctors drew the bypass surgery results on top of the picture.

If the article is so fair, then why is this the author’s opening sentence?

Given gun control advocates’ repeatedly demonstrated combination of unintentionally hilarious firearms ignorance and high-handed zeal for gun design by legislative fiat,

Clearly he thinks gun safety advocates are idiots and talks dismissively about them through the rest of what you posted.

Do you ever ask yourself questions like, Why am I so obsessed with firearms? Why do I have such a defensive attitude about any regulation of them? Why do I get so excited by devices that are designed to kill people? A person with self-awareness and the ability for introspection would at least ask such questions of himself.

Like that’s any better? The writer thinks the fault lies with Dems because they support smart gun technology. He even suggests they shut up completely about it for the next 20 years. He gives no reason why, other than discussing smart gun technology makes gun nuts upset.

And of course you ignored the rest of my post.
