In Demented Early Morning Twitter Rant, Trump Proposes Militarizing Schools and Turning Teachers Into Heavily Armed Killers

Politics • Views: 36,278

Anyone who might have been tempted to praise the Trump-thing for that sham “listening session” yesterday got a serious wake-up call today. He made it clear with a series of crazed early morning tweets that he’s still a puppet of the NRA.

He was either read the riot act by Wayne LaPierre after seeming to tack toward sanity during the past week, or it was a charade all along to let the heat from the Parkland shooting die down a bit before pushing the same insane NRA talking points as always.

Notice that he denies he said “give teachers guns” and calls it “fake news” — then in the next sentence calls for giving teachers guns.

Bah - dead-threaded:

At CPAC, conservatives eye candidates and dates

….the chance of meeting a potential spouse is a real pull, and Moore recalled meeting someone terrific on the first night. “When we were talking about views … I’d say, ‘I just think this way’ and he’d be like, ‘yeah, totally!’” she said. “We were compatible.”

CPACers going for the vegan chick.

The first few tweets totally negate the “Oh, by the way, I’m suddenly in favor of gun control” tweet. Wayne is willing to let him slide on that because he’s singing the NRA’s tune (“MOAR GUNZ!!!!”), knowing that the gun control proposals will never make it to Donny’s desk. If he had even a inkling of a feeling that Two Scoops was serious, he’d be railing at the White House right now. The fact that he’s not should clue people in that he doesn’t think these are serious proposals and neither should they.

100-150 security guards per…what? School? District? City? State? The whole country?

So, you need 100 people who can pass a background check, who train up to at least police standards, are armed and equipped, willing to stand around all day every day just being there. I figure you’d have to pay them at least $40,000, plus good benefits, so the total cost of employment would be maybe $100,000 per. Multiply by 100, and you have $10,000,000.

So, again, is he talking per school? $10,000,000/school?

Every member of the Simpson family knows that Lisa is the smart one and the conscious of the family. They ultimately turn to her for moral guidance, usually after Homer does something incredibly stupid, but eventually.

While elaborating on his proposal to arm teachers, Trump said, “For instance, if the coaches - who I guarantee have plenty of experience with weapons…”

Who does the president think is coaching school teams?!

He’s revealing his attitude of condescension toward the rubes he exploits. Trump assumes that “coaches” of sports teams are more likely to be Fox News fans because they’re not like those egghead liberal academic types, hence, easier to bilk and turn into cult members. That’s been his schtick for many years now. It’s why he infamously said “I love the poorly educated.” That was a true statement.

That’s 3% of the US population. Check my math:

100 security guards x 100,000 schools ; 10,000,000 security guards.

That’s 3 times as many security guards as there are teachers.

But 10,000,000/300,000,000 x 100 = 3.3% of the US population.

I went to a tiny fucking private middle/high school and among the male teachers there were three according-to-Hoyle sexual predators, one inappropriate student-teacher relationship (very young teacher, graduating student, not predatory), one confirmed wife beater, one guy with depression resulting in anger issues, one guy with depression and anxiety resulting in highs and lows. And a principal who thought proper discipline including walking up behind young men and touching them without permission.

It’s not that all these people were 100% garbage—well, there’s very clearly some I’d launch into the fucking Sun given the chance—but the whole idea of “good guys” as a meaningful formula is belied by…the ease with which humans excuse bad behavior, the irrationality in the moment of any given person, and the ease with which garbage people can ape the minimum required shallow courtesies to seem “good.”

Again, I would love to see anyone try to arm my coach husband. The world would have one less teacher and coach.

Our best friends own guns. When we go to their ranch (it’s Texas, y’all) we target shoot and we shoot poisonous snakes and wild pigs. I have firmly forbidden them to ever shoot skunks for any reason. The smell. Dear God, the smell.

They also hunt. They are religious about following the Texas laws around what they can hunt in what season and only taking the counts they’re allowed to take. They donate whatever meat the cannot eat.

We are on a ranch using a gun as a tool. There is no AR-15. There is one pistol for the sole reason to shoot snakes, and there are a lot of them. Rifles for hunting or pigs. There is no need for anything else, and this is a working ranch.

It’s not that damn hard.

So we will wind up having DT praised as “presidential” and “offering practical solutions to our country’s problems”.

For proposing to solve the gun problem with more guns.

For proposing to spend more money, not on school or education, but for weapons.

For increasing the likelihood that someone is going to be shot inadvertently in an attempt to prevent people from being shot randomly…

I’ll wait to see what the kids say about that. No. Screw that. I’m pretty sure I know what the kids will say and I’m gonna go a head and agree with them.

KGxvi  Feb 22, 2018 • 12:49:33pm

Meanwhile:

Tony Mendoza, a former East Los Angeles elementary school teacher who moved swiftly from local to state government elected offices, resigned from the California Senate on Thursday as his colleagues moved to formally expel him after a series of sexual misconduct accusations.

The resignation was the culmination of an almost three-month saga that saw the Democrat stridently deny any improper conduct, all while accusing his fellow legislators of unfair treatment. He becomes the third state legislator to resign in the wake of allegations that have shaken the state Capitol community.

Apparently he was hitting on teenage and 20-something (female) senate fellows. Including inviting a 19-year old to spend an evening “in an adjoining suite during a California Democratic Party convention”, and then getting her drunk.

a double-winner RW talking point: the FBI neglected its job of protecting innocent Americans because it was committing treason, thereby disarming both the gun problem and the Mueller investigation.

that is some seriously sick shit

Mueller being a decorated Vietnam veteran

I also recall the RW flipping out over the thought that some liberal college-brainwashed (and likely Jewish, minority or female) psychologist might effectively deny a person his right to unlimited access to weapons by diagnosing him as “crazy”…just for making a few ironic Internet posts

That’s their stock answer. More guns. It’s their only answer when the rest of the world has realized that fewer guns means lower crime, lower firearms death rates, etc.

We even see that with strong gun control states having lower per capita firearm death rates than lax gun states.

Every time you hear about solving problems by some kind of warehousing of people—an ever-expanding variety of criminals, immigrants, old people, the mentally ill—think in terms of subsidized private industries that specialize in milking their charges as human capital.

Yeah, I keep repeating this in themes and variations like Haydn ripped off his own symphonies, but: this is about people not mattering as people, in the basic bitch secular humanist sense of “you are have some rights by being a person.” If you don’t have immediate use-value to this cabal of people, they’re either going to dispose, abandon, or experiment with novel ways of extracting value.

I wondered how long it would take for the ammosexuals to turn (or try to turn) one of the survivors into a talking point of their own, and it looks like Colton Haab is the one they’ve chosen: CNN Says It Didn’t Ask Florida Shooting Survivor To Read A Scripted Question

He said he’d wanted to speak about the possibility of putting more armed guards in schools to protect students ― but, he said, CNN squelched his proposed remarks.

“CNN had originally asked me to write a speech and questions, and it ended up being all scripted,” Haab told local ABC affiliate WPLG.

“There is absolutely no truth to this,” CNN said in a statement. “CNN did not provide or script questions for anyone in last night’s town hall, nor have we ever.”

CNN invited Haab to appear on the network Thursday “to discuss his views on school safety,” according to the network’s statement. Colton Haab did not immediately respond to HuffPost’s request for comment.

A CNN source told HuffPost that the town hall was intended to give participants a chance to ask a question, but Haab wanted to read an “extensive” speech. Colton’s father, Glenn Haab, declined to have his son participate after the network refused to let his son read the full speech, according to the source.

So yeah…if you search twitter for his name right about now, you’ll get a firehose of trumpchump conspiracy theories.
