Ken Layne Hits Bottom, Digs

Tue, Jul 31, 2007 at 2:56:58 pm PDT

Bottom feeder Ken Layne is trying to drive traffic to his failing corporate pseudo-blog Wonkette again. Don’t go there. Go read his drivel at Ace of Spades HQ instead, where the whole ugly post is reproduced.

Ace comments:

So annoying that a sissyblog like Wonkette can get all the traffic from the left any day they choose simply by deciding to be insane.

Yep.

UPDATE at 7/31/07 3:36:08 pm:

Also at Ace, he’s discovered that chickenhawk slur artist Max Blumenthal, who says he supports the war in Afghanistan but not Iraq, has now enlisted and is serving in Afghanistan: Ask Max Blumenthal Which Unit He’s Serving With In Afghanistan.

He must be, since anyone who doesn’t enlist in a war they support is a chickenhawk, after all. Ace has his email, so you can ask Max yourself how many Taliban he’s killed today.

4 zombie  Tue, Jul 31, 2007 3:02:51pm

As Charles points out, Wonkette is not and never was an actual blog.

it is a corporate-designed gossip column that was dreamt up as a way to bypass the old-school newspaper syndication services. Ana Marie-Cox was recruited by a corporate headhunter to be the first "Betty Crocker"-style "brand." When she quit, they latched on to some pitiable drama queen to take her place. But still kept the "brand."

God, what a fraud.

13 Stinky Wizzleteats  Tue, Jul 31, 2007 3:06:59pm

In the open thread I just commented on this. I was over at Fark and they had a link to this story (don't worry, didn't click it; doesn't pay to dance with the devil). The lefties at Fark have now removed any pretense to "supporting the troops", they are claiming that the troops are uneducated (even the Rangers, as one idiot said that since Tillman college educated, he was smarter than 99.99% of his fellows), and a number of others, quite dubiously claiming to be a "former Marine" (I snorted at that one) and an Army vet, said that this description was highly accurate. I had to leave out of sheer frustration and rage.

I mean, Wag the Dog was released during Clinton's term.

That's all this is. BDS and the rest of the conspiracy crap against Bush.

Shouldn't someone call the Secret Service on this guy? I would assume joyful chortling at the demise of one of the major figures in government would get someone's attention.

Of course, they are the left and the fricking rules do not apply to them.

By the way, what a terrific nic. I wish I were so imaginative.

The Thompson camp's denial appears to be contradicted, however, by an unedited FairTax.org video in which Thompson is asked, "Senator, if the House and Senate pass the 'Fair Tax' bill do you feel right now that you would sign it?"

Thompson replies to the question by saying, "Yeah, absolutely."

So does anyone have a line on the 'Real' Pat Tillman? I have a hard time believing that someone with the initiative and drive to not only play in the NFL, but become an Army Ranger is really the moonbat material that the... ur, moonbats are making him out to be. I know his family has said some pretty outlandish things, but I attribute that to dealing with their loss and then being essentially lied to by the Army.

OT (but only a little, tiny bit, I swear);

On Sunday, August 12, from 8 to 10 PM EDT, The History Channel will premiere a 2- hour special, titled " 9/11 Conspiracies". I think the title is deliberately deceiving, as it is going to consist of the team from Popular Mechanics, plus other experts, going over the various "theories" , from the "Loose Change" crowd's on down, and explaining in plain English why they're all bunk.

I predict that prior to the airing, the KosKids will try to stop the airing.

I predict also that after it airs, they will go completely bugf**k. And from then on, THC will officially be "part of the cover-up". (Just like us Lizards.)

Just thought everyone might like to tune in and watch.

You can bet Kenny-boy will be watching. With notebook in hand, writing down the names of everybody he'll be sliming on Wonkette before the show's over.

OT: Knights Templar is a threat to the national security of United Kingdom. Got this from a myspace profile of the Knight Templars of Leicester, England requesting emergency help from anyone:

It seems the english government watch team have deemed the templars a threat to national security I have been arrested twice in 2 weeks for my political freedom that i have expressed against what is happening to our once great nation.
I have also been fined 350 pounds for a public order offence which was after a demo in london against terrorists being granted human rights in the u.k.
Im not after your money just a friendly acknowlegement(sic) of the war the government has declared on us, we equally stand by our right to declare war back on this state that is engaged in political genocide against my nation.
Respect the Knights templars of Leicester. ENGLAND.

Here's the myspace profile: the Knights Templar of Leicester

Granting human rights to Islamist terrorists living in England? Not surprising.

re: #20 Psaturn

I often wonder about the intelligence of the leftists...of course they are wondering about our intelligence...and to top it off, most of the leftists are universities intellectuals to boot...

Universities no longer teach critical thinking. A majority of prof are indoctrinating the students. I went to college in my 30s, so had a little more confidence in going up against profs. One history class the guy just ragged on RWR every chance he got. My final paper was on... RWR's legacy, I had twice as many pages citing my sources as text, I double and triple sourced my material. I had English prof who I became friends with check the paper for English and format before turning it in. Managed a D, because I was "unwilling to consider other points of view," He couldn't fail me the paper was too well done. I am as proud of that D as just about any grade I got.

That is just NOT RIGHT!

Of course you can complain!

I was able to get A's in papers in which the professors did not agree with me...only because I was able to cite sources and I was able to support my position with scholarly quotations...

It is quite disturbing that this is happening.

That was the extreme case, I was in school 15 years ago. Even then a lot of indoctrinations, I pick my fights carefully. I had a few good profs, the English prof was one, had another history prof who was liberal and proud of it, we'd get into it in every class, it was never personal just the intellectual challenge, classmates couldn't understand why I'd have coffee with her every morning then argue like hell in class.

The trend in colleges is away from the classic liberal education, critical thinking, logic and search for truth.

Kind of like the way they were supposed to keep watch on Hizbullah in Lebanon, and make sure they didn't rearm?

Well that was my other post....

[Link: lawhawk.blogspot.com...]

"instead of pressing the offensive when they could have and eventually obtaning vicotry, the peacenicks in Washington and the U.N. have created a situation where Hizbullah is now rearmed (thank you Syria and Iran), rested, better schooled, better trained, battle hardened, and given more time to study Isreal tacticts and world reaction. Add in the ineffective job of the U.N. peacekeepers, and you have a more serious situation and the potential for a second, more deadly war."

I'm offended by the comment on the Wonkette site by the puke maggot that said Tillman being a college grad was smarter than 99.99 % of his fellow Rangers.Years ago, prior to my completion of school,I volunteered for service in the Army.Like everybody else going through MEPS I had to take the ASVAB-sort of like the military's version of the SAT.I scored in the top 2% of all individuals taking the ASVAB for that testing.Due to my score I could have requested any training the Army offered, but I chose to volunteer for Airborne School and then Ranger School.I never encountered anybody who could have been labelled as mentally deficient.I know several fine young men(all college grads in diverse fields) that serve in Ranger units and Special Forces units today, one of them presently serving in Afghanistan. He is a college grad and one of the most intellectually brilliant human beings that I have ever had the pleasure to make acquaintance with. To malign any member of any of the elite forces of all the branches of the military demonstrates a profound ignorance of what it takes to be an elite soldier, especially in todays high-tech military. And as there are no "ex" Marines, there are no "ex" Rangers.Sua Sponte.

Templars' military prowess declined and ceased to be a major power a long time ago. It's now a fraternal organization like the Freemasons, the Shriners' Club, the Order of Water Buffalo Club, the Society of Oddfellows, etc. etc.

121 Stinky Wizzleteats  Tue, Jul 31, 2007 4:26:53pm

Just so everyone knows...

The posters I argued with were not on Wonkette, so don't go there looking for the outrage. Killgore has it right- the link I found it on was on Fark.com. That's where I usually go to satisfy my curious attempts at reasoning with moonbats. While it's NOT a partisan site (Drew, the owner, has never claimed party affiliation, AFAIK), the posters most definately ARE partisan. So it's a good look at wild moonbats in nature, free and untamed.

Any case, the arguments were hackneyed and full of stereotypes, ala Jean Kerrie's joke. Just wanted you all to know, that while I've never served, I respect our servicepeople and I vow that this slander will never go unchallenged again.

re: #114 mingjaiyo

Everything that you have posted is absolutely true. I was a P91B4S (today's 18 D...I ets'd in '68), the classroom time needed to qualify made it a given that even those who flunked out, or were reassigned to a different MOS were NOT short on intelligence.

Those who arrogantly dismiss members of "elite" forces as Brawn sans Brains, are simply ignorant of what it takes to become one.

Most of the guys we lost in training couldn't hack it in the classroom, not the field. Must be even harder today.

Glad that you capitalized Special Forces (BTW, I was shocked to find out that there is now an SF "tab"...used to be the Arrowhead was all that was necessary...times change)

World's largest carpet unveilled

IRAN today unveiled what it said was the world's largest handwoven carpet, worth $US5.8 million ($6.76 million) and larger than a football pitch, to be laid out in a United Arab Emirates mosque.

The carpet, in prominent green and cream colours, was made using 38 tonnes of wool and cotton by 1200 weavers in 18 months in three villages in northeastern Iran, the head of Iran's state carpet company, Jalaleddin Bassam said.

/yeah, but does it fly?

What a bunch of bs that propaganda is!

Anyone's welcome to crunch the numbers, but none of them make sense. Try a size of 400 by 200 feet for starters, that's larger than a typical soccer pitch. That's $5.8 million dollars for 8,889 square yards.

Something sounds much more than fishy here.

They do make really nice rugs. Persian/Iranian rugs are very nice and very expensive. I personally prefer synthetics to wool - easier to take care of and just as nice, if you get a quality product.

Here is a pic of this particular item -
[Link: news.yahoo.com...]

You can see from the pic that the carpet is in pieces. Here is one that is all in one piece - smaller, but one piece. It is also Iranian.

[Link: www.jozan.net...]
Have I mentioned I love nice rugs?

A roomie of mine in college was engaged to an Iranian who actually dealt in rugs. We had the most gorgeous antique Persian rugs you ever saw in the apartment. They made the second hand furniture look like expensive antiques. A really nice rug makes everything else look better.

I bet I'm boing most of you. :)

All the "vegans" I've met were raging head cases. One even liked to ask every new person she met in our circle of friends if they ate meat. I figured out real fast she used it to feel superior to others.

Vegans are short a few essential amino acids.
