The Trumps owe every person on the planet who would loan them money and a bunch of other folks.

Well, considering my Titans (whose record right now isn’t that great at 7-6) also beat the Patriots a few weeks ago for only the second time out of ten matchups over the past twenty years, I’d say the Brady/Belichik Era is pretty much done.

Look for Brady to “retire” after the end of the season.

Probably the Oscars. There are no doubt people who would want to return to the Oscars.

I have been following Scottish Independence since 2014 and rooting for them to actually get it. It seems that Scotland is trying to be a moderate and modern nation. Unlike a lot of Britons who support #Brexit because they somehow think it will bring back the glory days of the Empire, Scotland wants to be a 21st Century nation, closer to Ireland and Norway.

Freed from the deadwood of British Nationalism and nostalgia, Scotland will soar-and not just from the oil revenue.

There are a lot of Trumpsters who don’t follow/believe in Q who are getting almost all the same conspiracies from standard RW media. Not every crazy person is promoting the pedophile/pizzagate angles. Many on the Trump train do believe in the Uranium 1 and Clinton foundation scandals and see Soros (who, according to them, worked for the Nazis) behind every manufactured financial scandal or pro-immigration policy.

Does it make a difference who is Chief of Staff since Trump isn’t going to listen to him/her anyways? I’m pretty sure that Kelly wasn’t thrilled by most of Trump’s antics including his predilection of engaging in ranting and raging on twitter.

To no one’s surprise, UKIP teams up with the EDL… and flops:

‘This turned into the Tommy Robinson show’: Cracks begin to appear after far-right unites with Ukip for Brexit march

Revolutions, it has been said, do not generally begin on Sundays. People have to be up for work the next morning.

Perhaps something similar applies to right-wing political rallies. It could explain why Sunday’s so-called Brexit betrayal march - a joint Ukip and Tommy Robinson demonstration, which claimed to speak for the 17.4 million people who voted leave in 2016 - attracted a crowd of little more than 2,000 people to Whitehall in central London.

Robinson - the English Defence League founder who was considered such a star turn he spoke twice at the event - called the gathering a “beautiful” sight.

But even he may have cringed at the lack of numbers because nearby, separated by a thick police presence, a 10,000-strong anti-Fascist rally dwarfed his own.

Alongside Union Jacks, flags for Generation Identity - a pan-European white nationalist group - Britain First and For Britain were everywhere. The British National Party tweeted from the event. Several signs and banners openly advocated violence.

It was always pretty clear what, exactly, UKIP and EDL were all about, but I guess it’s good that the masks are finally coming off.

It’s very odd to see all this bragging from an administration which has accomplished little and nothing for the working class. Wealthy Americans must love Trump though since they’re the only ones who benefited from his tax cut legislation.

Perhaps: but now that the oligarchy has gotten its tax cuts, why would they care who is the (R) President who’ll sign stuff? Whether it’s Trump or Pence (or Ivanka, WTF knows?) who signs off on their upward-redistributionary policies, (and keeps feeding Federalist Society hacks into the judicial-nomination process), it’s all the same.

Who else remembers back in March when Lewandowski said Trump could be his own chief of staff?

President Trump’s former campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski, said Sunday that he believes Trump will likely serve as his own chief of staff if John Kelly leaves the position.

“I think that’s a scenario that could very well play out. The difference with this president is he is the decisionmaker and he loves to have all the information brought to him,” Lewandowski said on NBC’s “Meet The Press.”

Because I am learning Spanish, I have a couple of radio stations stored in my car. One of them, 94.1 here in DFW, has the afternoon program called the “Freeway Show” (Yes, the title is in English, even though it’s a Spanish channel). A friend has told me it’s actually syndicated out of California. I still don’t know enough Spanish to understand most of it, but I figure if I’m trying to listen for the words it will help. One of the things they do at one point in their show nearly every day is chant “Ru-dy! Ru-dy! Ru-dy!” I don’t know why they do it, but I now hear that tweet in their voices.

Ayers wanted the job, of course, but how often do you get the chance to play the piano in a whorehouse?

That job would open frequently as the previous piano players were shot, overdosed or died of syphilis.

Chile declines to sign U.N. pact, says migration not a human right: report

Chile has become the latest country to pull out of a controversial United Nations migration pact, its interior ministry indicated, provoking fury among opposition parties who accused Sebastian Pinera’s government of “shameful and authoritarian” behavior.

Rodrigo Ubilla, Chile’s Interior Ministry subsecretary, told Chilean Sunday paper El Mercurio in an interview that the country’s representatives would not attend the event to adopt the pact early next week in the Moroccan city of Marrakesh.

“Our position is clear,” he said. “We have said that migration is not a human right. Countries have a right to determine the entry requirements for foreign citizens.”

The migration pact addresses issues such as how to protect people who migrate, integrate them into new countries or return them to their home countries.

It is non-binding but has met fierce resistance from governments including the United States, Austria, Hungary and Poland who frame it as encouraging migration.

re: #255 Hecuba’s daughter

What approach to learning Spanish have you found effective?

The best suggestion to start out is to find a way to hear and repeat the language. If you can do it frequently, find people willing to teach you. Because I really want to learn it, and spend about an hour a day in my car, I spent some money on the Pimsleur Spanish courses. It’s not cheap (~$500, but you can buy the levels individually), but it’s 150 half hour lessons. I would listen to a lesson the night before at home - when I can stop and think - and then listen to it again to and from work. When I do get a chance to talk Spanish with some friends, I’m able to convey sentences, including some tenses. Importantly, I learn proper pronunciation. I also text them in Spanish (I have to look up spelling).

After getting through the course once, I have switched to Duolingo at night; I am relistening to the courses on the way to work, and then the radio on the way home. There’s a whole lot of overlap, but I’m now learning spelling, including accents, and quite a bit more repetition. You would think in Texas that I would have a lot of people to talk to, but I actually know people who look like they are from Mexico but don’t speak Spanish, so I don’t just say it to anyone.

Early on I rode up on some idiot who then immediately got kicked to death by his horse. Then I picked him up and was going to take his body into town just so he wouldn’t rot by the side of the road, when someone else rode by and became a “witness” to a crime I didn’t commit. So I had to ride them down and murder them before they could report me to the police for a murder I didn’t commit and I’ve never felt more karmically balanced.

Telenovelas!!

They speak slowly, and loudly, and never use college-level words. Also, the physical acting is broad enough you’d probably understand it even with the sound off.

“Si. Lo siento, mija, pero el es tu papa.”
