I was thinking of getting out about three weeks ago and then I changed my mind. Bad move. About 40% of my 401K is in a fund that’s basically an insured savings account. With the rest of it, since I didn’t get out in time, I’m going to wait it out because even though I’ll be retired, there will be some money in there for the next 20 years and I want to try to earn something back on it. I don’t expect to get it all back, but I’m still gambling that it’ll be better than taking it out and putting it in whatever the hell is still considered to be a good investment now (my mattress?, a hand sanitizer manufacturer?). If Trump wins in 2020, I’ll go the mattress route with whatever is left.

I was thinking of getting out about three weeks ago and then I changed my mind. Bad move. About 40% of my 401K is in a fund that’s basically an insured savings account. With the rest of it, since I didn’t get out in time, I’m going to wait it out because even though I’ll be retired, there will be some money in there for the next 20 years and I want to try to earn something back on it. I don’t expect to get it all back, but I’m still gambling that it’ll be better than taking it out and putting it in whatever the hell is still considered to be a good investment now (my mattress?, a hand sanitizer manufacturer?). If Trump wins in 2020, I’ll go the mattress route with whatever is left.
All bets are off if I die in the next 6 months…

People with acute problems (such as a broken arm) are having difficulty finding care.

My hospital just enacted a 60 day travel ban. We even have to report any personal travel outside of the state.
I am actually relieved! I can actually get work done. This will be the first time in nearly a decade that I won’t see an airport for 2 months.

The organiser of our upcoming event in Germany lives in Switzerland. He says as of now it’s still on, as Switzerland has more restrictive rules than Germany. (The Swiss government has banned all gatherings larger than one thousand people; our gathering is expected to have less than three hundred.)
He also notes the Swiss health services have switched from reporting all cases to reporting only severe cases.

There’s actually an explanation for that - stress brought on by repressed negative emotion (e.g. avoiding all conflict, taking on too much, always trying to be “nice”, etc) weakens the immune system and makes people more vulnerable to disease. Sociopaths who feel no guilt maddeningly end up physically healthier as a result (though unhealthy behavior like smoking can eventually catch up to them, e.g. lung-cancer limbaugh).

From what I heard, the rate in Switzerland (370 cases for a population of around 4 million) is much higher than Germany ( 1100 for a population over 80 million), but then again, they are bucked up right against Northern Italy…

so it wouldnt affect your tax due / refund at all - no need to change your W-4
what it would do is continue to short the social security / medicare trust funds
