VIDEO: Steve Bannon Confirms Leaked Audio of Trump Plan to ‘Declare Himself Winner’

“Our article says that [Bannon] acknowledged that Donald Trump had a plan to lie about the election results—he isn’t denying that at all. He in fact confirms that he advocated that,” says Dan Friedman, who obtained the audio of Steve Bannon describing the Trump coup plot before Election Day.

Trump telegraphed his plan as early as 2016 when he insisted that he had also won the popular vote but Hillary packed the ballot boxes will millions of illegal ballots.

(Of which a en´lectoral fraud commission that he himself called into life found no evidence.)

But it was clear to anyone listening that he was going to do the same in spades in 2020 if he lost (and everybody knew he would lose the popular vote, it was just a matter of gaming the system as efficiently as he did in 2016.)

And he knew that he would be leading in votes counted at the end of the day on Tuesday but that the mail-in votes would skew against him.

We all knew these things. Our media knew these things. Even the relatively sane people in the GOP knew these things.

But they were willing to run roughshod over the electoral system to get their man in.

Another 1/6 sentencing today. Guy with multiple felonies and dishonorable discharge from military was claiming he was sorry and wanted 60 days on leniency. Prosecutors sought 1 year.

Judge sentenced to 5 months and 3 years probation.

How is that justice served?

Once again, judges claim that they’re being harsh and doling out slaps on the wrist.

This guy was a serial felon and an ongoing threat to public health and safety, threatening to bring a gun the next time. He entered the Capitol twice on 1/6. Throw the book at ‘em.

I am fucking not in the mood for idiots right now. A child cannot consent to sex under NO CIRCUMSTANCE that I am aware of. So maybe you don’t want to call it r*pe. Well, call it the legal term used in most states: sexual assault. But don’t imply there might be a fucking legal reason for an 11 YO to be pregnant, or I will call you a moldy muffin (or worse!).

The only way a child under the age of 15 can get pregnant in the US is if they were raped. Period. The lowest age of consent in the nation is 16. With defenses/mitigating circumstances of the assailant being within a year or two of the age of the victim, it is rape.

Children under 15 can get pregnant as a result. To deny this is to deny reality and the GOP Christian fascists are doing just that.

They wont call what happens to these girls rape. They wont call the procedure to terminate these pregnancies rape.

It’s rape.
These girls were forced into a situation without any say, and the GOP would force them to carry a fetus to term, even if it kills the girl.

The GOP are cruel, evil, and malicious Christian fascist luddites.

[Embedded content] AN 11 YO CANNOT CONSENT TO SEX.

and yet now that 11 yo will become a mother
who is now 11 or 12.
how does this person act as a mother?
she’s not old enough to contract.
how does she make health decisions for the baby?

if a legal guardian is forced upon her, that still doesn’t address how she pays for anything

or does that become someone else’s job?
of so who, why and how?
will the baby be taken from her by force?
what if in this absurd world, she refuses and wants demands to be an active mother?

Yes, there are a few additional exceptions/caveats - a parent could consent to a child’s marriage. Child marriage is a defense to statutory rape. A number of states have no statutory minimum age for entering into a marriage (caselaw may set a higher number).

We have the ability to do a DNA test on a baby or the products of an abortion. We have the ability to prosecute the sperm forcer. We have the ability to give the victim some rights.

i think that’s a question that’s sure gonna be put to the test

we’ve always sort of assumed that parents have a lot of implied power w/r/t their kids, that for the most part isn’t / cannot be questioned

that power is not automatically assumed with grandparents

Raping a series of women in your own home shows a disturbing level of confidence that you will not be held accountable for your actions.

Scrubs and Californication co-executive producer Eric Weinberg was arrested today by the LAPD on multiple sexual assault charges. The arrest is related to a series of rapes and more that the police say occurred between 2012 and 2019.

Picked up at a Los Feliz residence, the TV scribe was booked by police this afternoon and is being held on bail of $3.225 million, say law enforcement officials. Detectives are expected to pass their investigation over the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office soon , I’m told.

“When the case is submitted, we will review it and determine if charges are appropriate,” a spokesperson for L.A. District Attorney George Gascón’s office told Deadline today of the Weinberg arrest.

according to the LAPD, Weinberg predatorily singled out women in their 20s and 30s “in grocery stores, coffee shops and other public places” and would try to convince them to participate in a photo shoot. If the women agreed to have their picture taken by Weinberg, his modus operandi was to rape them during the secluded session at his home.

Yeah, definitely needs scare quotes around those “liberal friends”…

But SRSLY, Kevin: what “policies” did Trump come into office on? I can recall just 3:
1) “Repeal and replace Obamacare” - and never mind the utter lack of any “replacement”.
- abandoned after an unprecedented negative public outcry.
2) Cut taxes (only/mainly for the wealthy, but not pitched that way).
- Passed by GOP - no surprise.
3) Building a huge “impenetrable” wall (only) on the Mexican border.
- Do we even need to discuss?

Or TFG’s foreign-policy “triumphs”??

Actually, there was ONE: an easing of relations between Israel and (some of) the UAE (and Saudi Arabia). And not really that much of a “triumph”.

In a radio interview, Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) denied last night’s reports that he killed the climate and tax portions of the Democratic spending package.

Said Manchin: “I said, ‘Chuck, can we just wait until the inflation figures come out in July? Until basically the Fed rate — the Reserve, are they going to raise interest? How much more, and how much damage is that going to be? And then make a decision what we can do and how much we can do?’ He took that as a ‘no,’ I guess, and came out with this big thing last night.”

NO.
NO NO NO

that’s not how you do this if your goal is to pass it

you get it done. NOW. while there’s agreement and momentum.

if you’re concerned about the economy you tweak the package you proposed and everybody agreed to:

- if inflation at the end of july, august, whenever is X, then the package is capped at Y$, otherwise it’s $Z.

THEN YOU PASS IT. NOW.
that’s how you be productive and get the job done.

“Trump didn’t commit ordinary crimes (well, he probably did, and that weighs on all of this too, but it’s not the main thing). He attempted to overturn an election that he had lost, and used the presidency to do so. That’s become clearer and clearer as the House committee investigating the assault on the US Capitol of Jan. 6, 2021 has presented its case.”

Experts seem to believe that the evidence is there and that conviction is likely for Trump’s efforts to pressure election officials to falsify results, to gin up slates of fake electors and to provoke the Capitol mob. And it’s highly relevant that Trump to this day, long after the election, continues to try to overturn the legitimate result. Prosecutors should take it into account if a person constantly takes to the biggest stages and in effect brags about his crimes and promises to commit them again if he has the chance…”

“If all of this sounds as if the ultimate decision by the Justice Department will be political in nature… well, that’s correct. Prosecutors have to balance the threat to the nation from indicting a former president against the threat to the nation of not doing so. Given the facts we’ve seen, it’s just not that hard a choice. Trump’s crimes are too important, and too dangerous, to ignore.”

People really have little understanding currently how normalized pre-industrial age customs like slavery, child marriage and women as entrenched 2nd class citizens will become after 2025 if a Republican takes the White House.

Across the South and West, these customs once considered archaic and immoral will quickly race back into legal status and embraced by the Christian overlords who rule these states. And whoever wins the White House in 2024 will pack the SCOTUS, especially a Republican. A Republican will pack the Court with at least 5 more cult-following Justices who are all in their 30’s primed and ready to enforce Radical Christian rule for 40 or more years.

I think a lot of people need to differentiate between “valid criticisms of a leader I would like to see changed, but are still better than the alternative” and “things that are deal-breakers that will cause me not to vote for him/her”. There’s quite a lot that Biden could do that would make me angry at him, but it’s a pretty distant line to me saying I wouldn’t vote for him if he’s the 2024 nominee. You keep some useless assets but don’t telegraph the fact that they’re now useless so that when they try to take it over, you can declare the state in rebellion, kick their Senator’s from the Senate, arrest the state government* (or at least everyone who voted to seceded or willingly worked in the secessionist government), and reconstruct the state.

The neo-confederates are becoming explicit secessionists.

The last three paragraphs of that article, showing conservatives are deluded:

When asked to compare red states with blue states on a host of issues, red-state Trump voters say by wide margins that blue states have more gun deaths (68%) and discrimination (56%) while red states have more economic growth (75%) and education (55%).

Blue-state Biden voters, in contrast, say it is red states that suffer more gun deaths (62%) and discrimination (75%) — and blue states that enjoy more economic growth (65%) and education (77%).

Obviously, both sides can’t be right. (According to Brownstein, blue-state Biden voters are closer to the mark; other analysts might disagree.) But that isn’t stopping either side from thinking the worst of the other.

I agree none of it is acceptable. Hebephilia refers to a non-adult looking but pubescent child.

This is why child rape apologists and Libertarians will come down so hard on anyone using the term paedophilia when the child has reached puberty.

Except thanks to our Constitution, Senate rules, an obstructionist GOP, and a 50-50 Senate, Manchin is in effective charge of what is passed in the Senate.

A friend who has ties to AZ told me that Kelley was going to lose because he is having an affair and that information is widespread among voters in the state. I still recall what happened in 2020 where the NC Democratic candidate lost for that very reason.

I live in Arizona and I have heard nothing of the sort. Not a word, not a whisper. Absent anything more, I’m currently considering this horseshit.

You might recall Trump was pushing very hard to be able to fire civil service workers he didn’t like, essentially returning the government to the old Spoils System.

Like the OnlySky article I noted about “effective altruism,” giving the power to fire Civil Service workers to the executive branch then depends on never electing a despot.

After originally releasing that a 13-year-old boy was driving a pickup truck responsible for a Texas crash that killed six University of the Southwest golfers and the coach back in March, investigators with the National Transportation Safety Board made a shocking announcement on Thursday — that the boy’s 38-year-old father was driving the truck and he had methamphetamine in his system.

According to an Associated Press story Thursday, the NTSB said that DNA testing confirmed that the father, Henrich Siemens, was driving and that toxicological testing showed the presence of methamphetamine in Siemens’ blood.

wapo.st

The Secret Service also took the unprecedented step of allowing the former detail leader to temporarily leave his job to become a White House political adviser. Anthony Ornato was hired as White House deputy chief of staff earlier this year. In that role, he helped coordinate a controversial June photo opportunity in which Trump strode defiantly across Lafayette Square to pose with a Bible after the park was forcibly cleared of peaceful protesters.

Ornato also helped coordinate numerous rallies across the country during the pandemic, per Trump’s wishes. The mass gatherings were blamed for increasing the spread of the coronavirus in some of the communities where they took place and left many in the ranks of the Secret Service infected or exposed.

The Secret Service is part of the US Treasury Department. The head of the Treasury Department and associated deputies are Executive Branch appointees.

That is why Tony Ornato had to request a leave-of-absence from his superiors to go work directly for the Trump Maladministration. Had he been a political appointee, Trump could have simply reassigned him.

Because this is Ivana Trump, it’s world news, so lots of people want to ascribe a nefarious purpose to it, even the quick coroner’s update. I imagine the coroner would be compelled to provide updates quickly because she’s famous and to rule in-or-out foul play.

is the dog named after the place, or the place named after the dog?

The Labrador Retriever is a British breed of dog, imported originally from the Colony of Newfoundand.

In the 1830s, the 10th Earl of Home and his nephews the 5th Duke of Buccleuch and Lord John Scott, imported progenitors of the breed from Newfoundland to Europe for use as gundogs. Another early advocate of these Newfoundland fishing dogs was the 2nd Earl of Malmesbury, who bred them for their expertise in waterfowling.

During the 1880s, the 3rd Earl of Malmesbury, the 6th Duke of Buccleuch, and the 12th Earl of Home collaborated to develop and establish the Labrador Retriever breed. The dogs Buccleuch Avon and Buccleuch Ned, given by Malmesbury to Buccleuch, were mated with bitches carrying blood from those originally imported by the 5th Duke and the 10th Earl of Home. The offspring are the ancestors of all modern Labradors.
