Staged Photos Pouring Out of Gaza

Media • Views: 7,977

We should not forget that every television image and every news photograph coming out of Gaza right now is filtered through Hamas. The photographers filing pictures for Reuters, Associated Press, and Agence France Presse are all Palestinians, and all propagandists for Hamas—or they wouldn’t be allowed to take pictures in Gaza.

With that in mind, here’s yet another example of news photographs staged for propaganda purposes by terrorists and their allies: CAMERA Snapshots: Green Helmet’s Successor?

UPDATE at 1/5/09 11:06:16 am:

Israellycool has another example: the same injured child being paraded around by two different men.

Here are the two images at daylife.com:

A Palestinian father carries his wounded baby daughter into a hospital in Gaza City…

A Palestinian carries a child into the Shifa hospital in Gaza City…

Oh and the MSM if finally on the case of fauxtography. The last comment though, gives away the game. I have special contempt for Samir Kuntar's BFF, Dion Nissenbaum for bringing this up as there is no claim from Hamas or any other terrorist organization that he is not willing to amplify as "news." And yet he will look critically at every statement and action taken by Israel.

Fauxtography has now essentially replaced real journalism.

All journalism itself is now suspect. I immediately assume the inverse of anything they report is more true than the report itself.

19 zombie  Mon, Jan 5, 2009 11:00:53am

Other fautography I've seen from this conflict:

- Man carrying his "injured" daughter "to the hospital" by putting her in a hammer-lock around her neck and dragging her along as he chokes her.

- Bomb crater with intact vehicle at the bottom.

- Injured toddler being photographed again and again in different situations, to reply the trauma for the camera over and over.

...and others I've already forgotten.

Seeing and hearing the British press reporting of this conflict, and their absolute and total reliance on blatant lies being fed to them by the Palestinians, makes one realise that the latent anti-semitism that has been hidden for years is now acceptable. That is fishy.

Why was the explosion strong enough to tear off the roof of the "mobile clinic," yet leave the side of it entirely undamaged?

The vehicle at the bottom of the crater could conceivably, in a rare stroke of randomness, have flown straight up in the air during the explosion and then fallen straight back down. Doesn't happen very often, but I suppose it was possible.

Also, it's the caption that's suspicious -- because we know that Israel would not shoot at a target unless there was a legitimate military reason. Which of course is never mentioned.

That is outrageous. The leftist traitors running the global media complex will believe every off-the-cuff outright lie by any Palestinian, but cast doubt and aspersions -- and more commonly simply ignore -- any hard evidence and solid factual statements coming from Israel.

As always, this is a double war -- the war on the ground (which, as usual, Israel is winning), and the war on the airwaves and online (which, as usual, Israel is losing).

Israelly cool is following this in his 5:05 pm liveblog post from today:

[Link: www.israellycool.com...]

I can say that the bottom version of the photo from Israellycool's description is in our local morning breakfast table paper, and is sized at about one-eighth page. It's the same as always... LGF, et al will show that it is staged (the poor kid, whatever the circumstance!), but ordinary Americans (and the rest of the world!) will either see this photo and never know it's provenence or, if they have dropped their subscription, will see nothing, but will hear all the TV sliming that is going on. PJM, Hotair, MM, etc. have not a peep yet about fauxtography (and it's their blogs, so they cover what they see as most important... homeboy Richardson).

Someday, the breakfast table newspaper needs to be replaced by... oh never mind. It will happen someday, I just hope before our country as we know it is a thing of the past.

LOL! That's a classic. Here's the caption for the photo of the smuggling tunnel:

A Palestinian smuggles a sheep into the Gaza Strip through a tunnel under the Egypt-Gaza border at Rafah on December 5, 2008. Hundreds of tunnels have been carved out beneath the Gaza-Egypt frontier, providing a vital conduit to bring basic needs into the territory which has suffered an increasing stranglehold in the past 18 months.

Without knowing the times of each pair of photos we can't be sure the child wasn't photographed being carried by two different men at different points in getting it to some medical care.
As for the man, maybe, maybe not the same guy.
But, even it is the same guy, IDF ops are ongoing.
A photo of him unhurt might be snapped then later another photo of the same guy after being hurt.
I think these are rather weak examples of staged photos.

I said it is the same child, but having dealt with emergency care, I have seen more than one person carry an injured person even here.
That's all I think happened.
Two different men were snapped taking her to get medical care.
We have no idea how much time between the two photos.
But we had a doctor in Gaza saying media, photographers and people with cell phone cameras were all over the hospitals.
Maybe they just caught pics of the child twice over time.
It just isn't even being purported as staged as it would be if BOTH men were said to be her father.

Qualifications are only trained as an Registered Nurse and caring for children who have been burned. The ace bandage is a typical wrap to keep an IV stable and, imo, it would have been covered by clothing as an extra protection. (therefore it would be clean)

A few comments on the burned child photos.

One shot shows the child with clothes, with what looks like scorch marks on the clothing, and she appears alert. The title says 'A Palestinian carries a child into the Shifa Hospital.'

Second shot shows child without clothes, with an IV tube, with extensive injuries that look like burns, title is 'A Palestinian father carries his wounded baby daughter,' she seems like she may be less alert than in other shot. There is a person wearing a white lab coat in the lower left corner with an arm reaching out below the child (actually there's a guy in the other picture with a similar lab coat on also, it is a hospital).

I think that the shot with the clothes on occurred first as the child was brought in. Then the child was taken in for treatment, which removed her clothes and added the IV. Possibly she received a sedative for the pain (just a guess, it's a minor point).

Charles, you have the title of the clothes-off photo link slightly wrong. You've added 'into a hospital in gaza city' when the link that you give for that shot doesn't say that.

I don't really think this a case of fauxtography. Yes they are showing off a wounded child but I don't really see that there's anything in the shots that seems like it couldn't have happened the way it's portrayed. The wounds on the kid are serious and we can expect them to show that kind of thing. Of course we won't be seeing pictures of wounded fighters.

182 Dar ul Harb  Mon, Jan 5, 2009 4:22:13pm

For what it's worth, my analysis of the burned child photos from the overnight thread:

In the undressed photo, it appears that the child has certainly already received treatment. Note the apparent IV line with the gauze bandage on the the child's right arm. In that photo, the child seems to still be conscious, despite the closed eyes, because she's playing with the "IV/bandage". In neither case, you'll note, does the child appear to be reacting to the apparent severity of her injuries. In the dressed photo, she seems alert and perhaps a little apprehensive, but doesn't appear to be reacting to what looks like in the later photo to be extremely painful injuries, especially considering that the clothing would be in direct contact with them, as would the pressure from being carried like an ordinary uninjured child. Why isn't she crying or screaming?

183 poli_wog  Mon, Jan 5, 2009 4:56:16pm

I totally agree these are old; the child would be in intense pain, the 2nd degree burns would have blisters, and you can see the new, pink tissue in some places. But obviously she suffered terrible burn injuries recently - I cannot fathom these people who think, "Hey, let's go get little Ahmil down the street, she got hurt real bad last month. Let's strip her down and take her picture. Here, your turn." It's so disgusting.

Also, note the captions do not specify that the child was injured during the recent offensive (defensive), just that she was brought into the hospital during it.

185 RickD  Mon, Jan 5, 2009 5:16:28pm

If the wounds are old then there is an inconsistency with the scorch marks on the clothing. There is also soot on the face. I would think the kid's face would have been washed if the wounds are more than a couple days old although it's possible the clothing wouldn't have been changed. I agree that she doesn't look to be in pain in either shot.

Jihadiots are the only fighting force in the history of the world where a tool in the "soldier's" arsenal is crying like a little girl.

Let me repeat that:

The world has never seen a fighting force so pathetic that crying on cue like pathetic little bitches is part of their war fighting strategy.

I'm going to start a jihadist martial art called: Kung-boo-hoo. Here's how it works.

1- Hit your target when they're not looking. Try to pick a woman or child.
2- When they knock you on your ass, start screaming and crying and rolling on the ground calling for help.
3- Wait till they turn around and start to walk away in disgust.
4- Get up and hit them in the back of the head.
5- Go back to #2 and repeat till the end of time.

Oh yea, and pick "enemies" that are far more civilized than you or this little game doesn't work too well.

This is just more evidence of the AP supporting Hamasholes who spread taqiyya. The reality is the Hamasholes could careless about children and are a bunch of hirabi barbarians.

But, I repeat myself.

I agree these people are barbarians. I think the child is the same one in both photos... the clothes also match. More disturbing, the wounds on the child are typical of a child that has been submerged in a bath of scalding waster. Knees spared and burn line around the waist and buttocks. I am a physician and have seen this type of injuries before. I also think that the injuries are several days old.

Both pix are express an incongruity that labels them as fakes. Where was the father when the child was hurt? Why is he so clean and untouched by dirt, dust, smoke, or burns when the child seems so badly hurt? I say seems because a little makeup goes a long way and the child's face seems too serene for her to be injured. The Arabs have staged these things before, so why should I believe them now? One final point. Why should I bother feeling sympathy for the child when the same father is likely to strangle, stab her to death, cut her throat, stone her or do some other horror upon her person simply for bringing "dishonor" to the family by talking to a man? I've learnt to withhold sympathy from these people. I've borrowed and paraphrased Golda Meir's maxim. I'll start feeling for the Arabs when they start behaving like regular people.
