Microsoft warns of serious computer security hole
Microsoft Corp. has taken the rare step of warning about a serious computer security vulnerability it hasn't fixed yet.
The vulnerability disclosed Monday affects Internet Explorer users whose computers run the Windows XP or Windows Server 2003 operating software.
It can allow hackers to remotely take control of victims' machines. The victims don't need to do anything to get infected except visit a Web site that's been hacked.
Security experts say criminals have been attacking the vulnerability for nearly a week. Thousands of sites have been hacked to serve up malicious software that exploits the vulnerability. People are drawn to these sites by clicking a link in spam e-mail.
The so-called "zero day" vulnerability disclosed by Microsoft affects a part of its software used to play video. The problem arises from the way the software interacts with Internet Explorer, which opens a hole for hackers to tunnel into.
Microsoft urged vulnerable users to disable the problematic part of its software, which can be done from Microsoft's Web site, while the company works on a "patch" — or software fix — for the problem.

Totally OT--if there is such a thing.
I was just reminded of the Chinese pen pal my daughter had a few years ago. They wrote for a few months, then suddenly the girl was replaced. (We do hope they just moved or something.)
She got the first letter from the new pen pal, frowned, and said. "Mom, this one is an only child, too. That's weird."

Were they female children? China has a real, serious, pressing problem with a lack of females thanks to a combination of Chinese Culture and their One Child laws. It is a long term problem, and there's not a lot that can be done now to fix it.
Problem? They have 20+ million mature males with no hope of finding a wife.

Vice President Joe Biden said in an interview broadcast Sunday that the United States would not stand in the way of Israel in its dealings with Iran's nuclear ambitions.
But State Department spokesman Ian Kelly rebuffed suggestions from reporters that Biden could be seen as giving the Jewish state a green light to attack Iran, which it views as an existential threat.

I agree with you. I meet the qualifications for disability, but I'm physically able to do most things. Shuffle numbers, office work, I can do; physical labor is pretty much out. For a while I tried disability, not to suck off the government tit, but for the insurance. I lasted about six months. Disability is Indentured Servitude with the US Government holding the contract. You can't work enough to make a decent living. Your assets (at that time) had to $1850 or less, not counting your home or your car. THEY OWN YOUR ASS - and the rest of you, too.

And I see it just the opposite. While I can't quite play it like him, I do a pretty good job on the chromatic. It's the diatonic that drives me crazy. I can do a few pseudo-blues sounding things, I can bend a few notes, but in general, it camp fire level on the 10 hole. And I've been blowing harps since I was about 8.
Dad had a chromatic, and that was my first harp, so I guess that's all I knew at the time and it stuck.

euronews: Should you open the doors to Ukraine for instance?
Wilders: No, I think that no other country should join Europe. I’m even in favour of Romania and Bulgaria to leave [sic] the EU. My party voted against the ratification treaty in the Dutch parliament for the accession of Romania and Bulgaria.
euronews: Why? What’s the problem with them?
Wilders: Because first, the Dutch people believe that Europe is large enough. They are against any more countries joining and I share their view. We should have a small Europe with more little tasks, than an enlarged Europe with even more influence. We are against that, and, secondly, I believe that those countries were not ready at all, were very unready and very corrupt as well.

But, see, I've always had a "blind" spot for blues, and blues patterns. I'm a keyboard player. Oh, I can do a few mechanical runs and fills, but I don't really feel it. Same with jazz, I just don't feel it, really, not in the least.
But on standards, rock, all sorts of lounge stuff, broadway, some big band, I can bang away for hours.
Blues, jazz, seem to me to be the different sides of the same coin, and I don't get it.

Interesting. I see he's still peddling his canned answers that Islam is not a religion.

I love how he's dictating who is and who isn't a part of Europe. How arrogant.

LOL, great.

Taiwan is a real issue but I see more smoke than fire. Whats a tyrant to gain from a smoking island with wrecked factories? I think they believe their 'peaceful rise to great power' shtick but I worry about those excess infantry... especially in down markets.
And can we pay China to clear the boil? Continued festering will only lead to a nuclear Japan.

I could easily turn on the video and put this thread in the background while I read other browser windows, but I've found that actually watching the performance makes it better somehow. It loses something if I'm not watching the artists at work.
Lady of the House's uncle is learning to play acoustic guitar right now so I've taken a new interest in the picking-and-shredding threads. Love this one especially.

I guess giving White first billing would be a bad idea. Nice music.
I wondered how far into the thread would be the first comment on their names, because I was thinking the same thing... Subliminal message from Charles, his sly sense of humor, or pure coincidence? It depends on who you ask!

Ha ... true enough. Taiwanese companies run lots of those big factories in China, like the one that makes iPhones, etc.

I guess calling themselves White Power was never an option, huh?
Beautiful tune.
