Glenn Beck Rants About ‘Commie’ Logo That His Own Group Used

A perfect storm of crazed hypocrisy
Wingnuts • Views: 27,052

We’re doomed! Doomed, I say! It’s the perfect storm! Aieee!

Notice that at the beginning of this clip, Beck rants about a clenched fist logo, and connects it to a Communist logo. (Of course.)

But this reminds me of something. Who else used that logo? Would you believe … the Glenn Beck-inspired “9/12 Taxpayer March on DC?”

The commie infiltration is worse than even Glenn Beck imagines! Aieee!

The website for the "9/12 Taxpayer March" now redirects to Dick Armey's FreedomWorks astro-turf operation, which of course, it was all along.

Bloomberg Criticizes Proposed Cut to Planned Parenthood

Mr. Bloomberg, Gov. Peter Shumlin of Vermont, Gov. Dannel P. Malloy and Lt. Gov. Nancy Wyman of Connecticut spoke forcefully to more than 20 reporters from around the country on Tuesday, and enumerated the services that Planned Parenthood provides in their cities and states.

In New York City, Mr. Bloomberg said, Planned Parenthood performs 12,000 cervical cancer screening and 56,000 contraceptive visits every year.

Mr. Shumlin said that in rural parts of his state, Planned Parenthood is often the only health care women have.

“This is health care access that women rely upon,” he said, “not only to avoid unwanted pregnancies but to stay healthy and prevent disease.”

Sarah Palin loves sock puppets.

Sarah Palin has apparently created a second Facebook account with her Gmail address so that this fake “Lou Sarah” person can praise the other Sarah Palin on Facebook. The Gmail address is available for anyone to see in this leaked manuscript about Sarah Palin, and the Facebook page for “Lou Sarah” — Sarah Palin’s middle name is “Louise” — is just a bunch of praise and “Likes” for the things Sarah Palin likes and writes on her other Sarah Palin Facebook page. “Lou Sarah” even says “amen” to Facebook posts by Sarah Sarah.

Interior minister resigns rather than carry out Gadhafi orders

Libya's interior minister said Wednesday he has quit the government and is supporting the protesters, who he predicted will achieve victory in "days or hours."

Ex-Interior Minister Abdul Fattah Younis al Abidi told CNN that he resigned Monday after hearing that some 300 unarmed civilians had been killed in Benghazi alone during the prior two to three days and he accused Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi of planning to attack civilians on a wide scale.

"Gadhafi told me he was planning on using airplanes against the people in Benghazi and I told him that he will have thousands of people killed if he does that," Abidi said in an Arabic-language telephone interview conducted Wednesday.

Abidi said he now supports the people and the revolution.

Gibson does the same. They used to just cut them in half, but in the 80's some folks went dumpster diving and re-glued some bodies. They got passed to some unsuspecting folks who lost a little money. Gibson now runs them through a wood chipper essentially.

Since we're on Beck...

Beck: Reform Judaism Is "Almost Like ... Radicalized Islam" In That It Is "More About Politics" Than Faith And Religion

BECK: OK, you have to -- hang on just a second. When you talk about rabbis, understand that most -- most people who are not Jewish don't understand that there are the Orthodox rabbis, and then there are the reformed rabbis. Reformed rabbis are generally political in nature. It's almost like Islam, radicalized Islam in a way, to where it is just -- radicalized Islam is less about religion than it is about politics. When you look at the reform Judaism, it is more about politics. I'm not saying that they're the same on --

GRAY: No, obviously not.

BECK: -- and they're going to take it at that, but -- stand in line.

GRAY: "Glenn Beck says --"

BECK: It's not about terror or anything else, it's about politics, and so it becomes more about politics than it does about faith. Orthodox rabbis -- that is about faith. There's not a single orthodox rabbi on this list. This is all reformed rabbis that were -- that made this list.

Just goes to show how far come folks will go to suck up to anyone, no matter how foul-smelling, for the sake of the almighty Euro.

Last August, Berlusconi gave Gadhafi a hero's welcome in Rome, and the Libyan came with a surprise: Bedouin riders mounted on 30 thoroughbred horses flown in from Libya performed in what one daily quipped was a circus spectacle with Gadhafi acting as ringmaster.

The Libyan leader also received 500 young women — hired by a modeling agency and paid $100 each to listen to a lecture on Islam, which he said should be the religion of all of Europe.

Granted the solemn honor of lecturing at Rome University, Gadhafi caused even more controversy.

He said the word democracy derives from the Arabic for "chair," and he reached the surreal conclusion that democracy will be achieved only when all the people are seated on chairs.

Even some in government were disturbed, accusing Gadhafi of having transformed Rome into his own private Disneyland for his senile vanity. But Berlusconi had only words of praise for his guest.

"It is an advantage for everyone that relations between Italy and Libya have changed and are definitely positive," Berlusconi said. "Those who do not understand this and criticize Libya belong to the past and are prisoners of outdated ideas."

Fucking bizarre.

Dispatch from "Free Libya": The Right to Laugh at Gaddafi

In "Free Libya," the people are laughing at Muammar Gaddafi as he goes on and on in a speech, dressed in a traditional outfit called a jard. A dozen men gathered in a roadside cafeteria in the town of Tobruk, about 100 miles from the Egyptian border, to watch the spectacle in one of the few buildings lit up on Tuesday night. The towns here are poorer and sparser than their Egyptian counterparts. But the locals now have the luxury of poking fun at the man who once had the power of life-or-death over them. "He has a hole in his shirt," one said. "Now he is a poor man!" another shouted. They all laughed.

The men feel they can now call falsehoods for what they are. "Gaddafi is saying it's all upside down here right now. But it's not. It's calm," says Fakry Labidi, an activist who helped liberate the area and an engineer who works for al-Harouj, a state owned, partly Canadian operated, oil company.

Tobruk is several hundred miles away from Benghazi, the first large epicenter of the revolt, and even farther from Tripoli the capital. But local activists felt wired into the revolutions going far beyond the borders of their nation, even though foreign newspapers were never for sale in Gaddafi's Libya and websites were often blocked, says Gamal Shallouf, a member of newly fledged opposition and a marine biologist. While the internet has been down since the revolution here started, the regime's inability to shut down new media's innovations entirely has been key to spreading Libya's revolt.

"Generally in Libya before this, there was no media," explains Shallouf, "So if Tobruk made a revolution, [the government] would spend three-to-five days killing us and finish the revolution. Nobody in al-Baida or Darna or Benghazi [larger nearby communities and cities] would have heard about it. But now with Al Jazeera and Facebook and the media, all of Libya hears about the revolution and is with the revolution. They know about it. They think, 'I am Libyan, this is my family, so I will go to the street to fight for them.'"

Wisconsin State Journal: Walker warns state workers layoff notices could come next week if bill isn't passed

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker warned Tuesday that state employees could start receiving layoff notices as early as next week if a bill eliminating most collective bargaining rights isn't passed soon.

Walker said in a statement to The Associated Press that the layoffs wouldn't take effect immediately. He didn't say which workers would be targeted but he has repeatedly warned that up to 1,500 workers could lose their jobs by July if his proposal isn't passed.

"Hopefully we don't get to that point," Walker said.

It could take weeks or even months to lay off workers under the terms of their current union contracts.

Absolutely fantastic Pages being posted today. I can't keep up with all the interesting stuff. Thanks to all.

What is your vision for the pages, if I may ask?

A shame, really, the State employees are willing to give up wages and benefits if they retain the right to collective bargaining. The Scooter is after nothing less than killing all public unions in the State.

Cops, Fierymen, teachers, professors, &c.

Slick, but shameful.

and now he's full blown committed...not a savvy pol, more like a popular anchor for GOP fundamentalism....backing away from his stance will now be seen as defeat

Sorry to go off-topic, but I just saw this and it made my eyes bug out.

The round second from right is standard 5.56mm - of the type used by NATO forces, as the photo illustrates. The round on the far left is .50 caliber and has reportedly been used against protesters. Sources in Tripoli who have spoken with doctors in the capital also said some believe explosive rounds are being used.

I think "full blown committed" translates to "rational public policy" for the Tea baggers. They *can't* back down. They are the Angels of the new Amerika. God help us all.

I think that the Dems need to just stay away and let Scooter continue to do himself in. As Napoleon is supposed to have said, “Never interfere with your enemy when he is making a mistake.”

People thought they were getting fiscal responsibility. That they didn't is sinking in and so are Scooter's numbers as it does ;)

More likely the 12.7mm version as made by the soviets, but yeah, it's a nasty weapon and found on many armored vehicles and aircraft. Not happy.

I can imagine shooting at another human being with something that looks like it was made to kill elephants. I've never seen something that size... it just... I don't want to think about what kind of damage it could cause to a human body.

Umm, can't. I CAN'T imagine shooting.... Sheesh, PIMF

re: #269 wlewisiii

hmm, I don't know, it says .50 BMG beneath it, so that's not a particularly russian round, is it?

anyway, a direct hit with a 5.56 can be lethal enough; this is just plain overkill. I don't really feel a difference between shooting this or a 5.56 round at someone; the intent is not much different, neither is the effect, probably... (ordinary NATO 5.56 rounds are pretty lethal already, if memory serves. not a gun expert here, though.)
