That only works if you have two functional parties.
If Obama went before the House, the GOP would spend all their time demanding his birth certificate and crying about Benghazi.

Our entire political structure needs a healthy dose of angry yelling.

Russert demands to know if Pelosi is too old to lead House Democrats
While announcing her decision to remain House Minority Leader Wednesday morning, Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) blasted NBC correspondent Luke Russert for suggesting she was hurting the party because of her age.
The exchange began when Russert told Pelosi, “colleagues privately say that your decision to stay on prohibits the party from having a younger leadership and hurts the party in the long term.” Russert said.
The question prompted a round of boos from the group of female lawmakers who joined Pelosi for her announcement, with one yelling, “Discrimination! Age Discrimination” while Pelosi initially waved his question off, before saying Russert would never ask that of 80-year-old Senate Minority Leader Rep. Mitch McConnell (R-KY).
“Let’s, for a moment, honor it as a legitimate question, although it’s quite offensive,” said Pelosi. “The fact is, is that everything that I have done in my — I guess — decade now of leadership is to elect younger and newer people to the congress.”

Since the question about IDF videos came up earlier
Israeli army fires on civilians, hitting mourners returning from a funeral in Gaza
Witnesses said that following the large explosion that started the incident, Israel retaliated with tank and machine gun fire toward residential areas at the al-Muntar hill in the central part of the territory, hitting people who were returning from a funeral east of Gaza City.
Rami Harra said his 17-year-old brother Muhammad Harra was killed in the strike.
"He was at home when the explosion took place. He went out to see what happened and when he started to help evacuating wounded people who were on the ground another shell hit the place and killed him," he said outside the morgue. "Why did they kill him? I can't believe my eyes that I am seeing his dead body."
...
In a text message to reporters, Hamas spokesman Fawzi Barhoum threatened to respond."Targeting civilians is a dangerous escalation that cannot be tolerated. The resistance has the full right to respond to the Israeli crimes," he said.
Israel carried out a broad military offensive in Gaza nearly four years ago in response to years of near daily rocket fire. Major salvos from Gaza have subsided since then, but sporadic rocket fire has continued.
Gaza's Islamist Hamas rulers have largely refrained from rocket attacks since the devastating Israeli military offensive that killed hundreds of Palestinians.
When possible the IDF releases videos to avoid reporting like this AP article.

‘Big Rich Texas’: How to turn sacred baptisms into lavish overindulgence
In the Big Rich Texas video, Leslie recommends a swimming pool at an oversized neoeclectic-style McMansion instead of a church or a lake because “it is a little bit cleaner.”
“I prefer to wear your dress for the baptism because I think it’s very beautiful and then afterwards, you just need an after outfit because you don’t want to walk around at the party soaking wet,” she explains. “As the godmother, I can wear something very classic as long as it’s classy and tasteful. This is not the time to be boob-alicious, not at a baptism.”
There should also be a “simple and tasteful and elegant cake” as a centerpiece. And the event should conclude with releasing doves because “it’s just the perfect way to end a baptism.”
“And that’s all you need to know to make your baptism a little more stylish,” Leslie declares.

This is going to be a problem for the President's re-election campaign.
At first, it was about keeping him from getting re-elected. Now, it's going to be totally about bringing him down before America elects another ni-CLANG!
I know some hate Maher, but he had on Samuel L. Jackson and a very poignant point was made: if he didn't get re-elected, people would have looked at it like "well, we tried electing the black guy, it didn't work, so much for that idea."
Now, it's "let's bring him down so we don't elect another one."

Obama dares McCain: Go after Susan Rice and ‘you’ve got a problem with me’
During a press conference on Wednesday, ABC’s Jonathan Karl noted that McCain and Graham had threatened to block Rice if she was nominated to be secretary of state because she repeated an incorrect CIA judgement that September the attacks in Benghazi that killed four Americans had been a reaction to an anti-Muslim video.
“Let me say specifically about Susan Rice, she has done exemplary work,” the president insisted. “If Sen. McCain and Sen. Graham and others want to go after somebody, they should go after me. And I’m happy to have that discussion with them. But for them to go after the U.N. ambassador who had nothing to do with Benghazi and was simply making a presentation based on intelligence that she had received and to besmirch her reputation is outrageous.”
Obama said he would not argue that Congress had a duty to get to the bottom of the attacks, “but when they go after the U.N. ambassador apparently because they think she’s an easy target then they’ve got a problem with me.”
“And should I choose if I think she should be the best person to serve America in the capacity of the State Department then I will nominate her. That’s not a determination that I’ve made yet.”

Single, Independent Women are 'Leading the Charge' Toward Socialism
Remember, it’s mostly independent women that are leading the charge here. Remember that the majority of households are led by independent, single women today in America, and what is it 54% to 45% voted for the most socialist than the lesser socialist on the ballot. Our nation is being led by single women, independent women who have been trained to think like feminists, they no longer see the family as an important social unit, and their security does not come from their fathers and husbands, it comes from Barack Obama. And we’ve been saying this for the last ten years, friends, I’ve crisscrossed the nation I’ve told hundreds of thousands of people this, and of course, many of them will lead their daughters to become independent so that they will vote for Barack Obama, or somebody even more socialist in years to come.
…
One of the other indications that a nation is falling down according to Isaiah 3 and Isaiah 19 is that women are leading the nation. This is clear, really, really clear from God’s descriptions of the breakdown of empires in the BC years. You’re going to get this all the way through the Old Testament…I know it’s unpopular, people don’t want to hear oh, when women lead, this is an indication that men aren’t leading and women are leading and you’re going to see a breakdown of systems and a breakdown of nations and empires. I’m sorry but that’s just the way it’s been over the last six thousand years so get over it.

Gaza terrorists' response to Jabari hit includes Grad fire on Beersheba, Ashdod and Ofakim; air defense system
At around 8 pm Wednesday, some four hours after Israeli aircraft killed top Hamas commander Ahmed Jabari, terrorists in Gaza fired Grad rockets toward Beersheba and Ofakim. Two rockets landed in Beersheba and caused damage to a vehicle and stores, but no injuries were reported. At least 20 rockets were fired toward the city.
The Iron Dome air defense system successfully intercepted 17 rockets, two of which were fired toward Ashdod. Another rocket fired toward Ashdod landed in an open area.

Weeks After Donating $100,000 To Karl Rove’s Super PAC, Coal Company Has ‘Survival Mode’ Layoffs
After President Obama won reelection, Ohio-based Murray Energy Corp. immediately laid off more than 160 workers, blaming clean air protections and taxes. Before Murray announced its “survival mode” layoffs, the company donated $100,000 to Karl Rove’s American Crossroads in September, according to FEC records reported by Politico.
Murray responded that “the donation to American Crossroads, which was made several months in advance of the layoffs, and our decision to layoff employees are two totally unrelated events.” Since 2011, Murray Energy has spent at least $1.24 million on political contributions exclusively backing Republicans and $1.57 million on lobbying. Murray himself was active in Republican election efforts, personally campaigning and donating to the Romney campaign.
Last Thursday, a memo addressed to Murray emlpoyees said “we cannot bleed cash waiting for our competitors to be eliminated.” When Murray addressed laid-off workers, he literally sent them off with a prayer:
Lord, please forgive me and anyone with me in Murray Energy Corp. for the decisions that we are now forced to make to preserve the very existence of any of the enterprises that you have helped us build. We ask for your guidance in this drastic time with the drastic decisions that will be made to have any hope of our survival as an American business enterprise.

Over 100 rockets launched from Gaza in the past week or two. It's hard to defend the position that Israel shouldn't do something about that.
Still entirely appropriate to argue if what the response is is likely to help. This could get out of hand pretty quickly. It may become a ground invasion and that could cost a hell of a lot of lives on both sides.
There's no positive aspect to this. This may make Israel safer. I doubt it will have anything more than a very short term positive effect and it may be a very bad turning point. The new right-wing government coalition is as hawkish as has ever been since in Israel and Lieberman is still the guy who severed relationships with the goddamn Mossad.

Go Iron Dome! All other debate aside, I'm big supporter of anything that stops rockets from killing people.
Also, shouldn't the arrow on the play button point left in Hebrew? Guess it's just an international convention.
Yeah. it takes a little trial and error to get the video to work.

Is it wrong to hope that the SOB gets struck by lightning for taking the Lord's name in vain?

from #163 Kragar... "they no longer see the family as an important social unit, and their security does not come from their fathers and husbands, it comes from Barack Obama."
The only domino left not to fall was the abandonment of the term "nanny state" while the term "nanny" implies rich white people paying someone else to raise their children, and replacing it with "baby daddy state" with it's undeniable blatant racist parallel to President Obama's own absentee father.
