Erick Erickson: “If Obama Were a Transvestite Serial Killer the Media Would Turn a Blind Eye”

Erickson’s a new man. He’s “matured.” Right.
Wingnuts • Views: 33,162

This weekend The Atlantic published the following bizarre 7,000-word puff piece about right wing hatchet man Erick Erickson: Is the Most Powerful Conservative in America Losing His Edge?

Well, apparently the “most powerful conservative in America” felt some pressure to perform like a good conservative does, after all this praise about how reasonable and polite he’s become. Because this morning here’s what he posted on Twitter, as if to make an absolute mockery of this ludicrous article:

Erickson has “mellowed,” has he? Seriously — a person who thinks like this needs psychological help, not hagiographies in The Atlantic.

Well, it was the Scots and Welsh who hated Edward I. In England he was regarded rather well for his legal reforms. Granted those reforms decreased the power of the nobility and thus increased his own power, but they did provide some real benefits to commoners, especially the reforms of the oppressive forest laws that his grandfather had famously used for ill ends.

Question worth 3 Updings: Who was Edward the First’s grandfather? (The paragraph above provide a clue.)

11 Prof. Backpfeifengesicht, PhD  Dec 29, 2014 10:36:56am

Hypotheticals can be fun, though. Like:

What if Erick Erickson were a smart and decent human being?

OK, not very realistic, but still…

Yeah seems that a lot of the fucked up sexual behaviors are seen on the right side of the aisle. I think it’s because the right is so rigid instead of live and let live on sexuality.

I’m not saying it was. But John did use those laws to evil ends and it stirred up great resentment, as it did when his son Henry III maintained them. Edward I used forest law reform as a way to alleviate public resentment, build support for the crown, and undercut the powers of the lesser nobles who had revolted against both his father and grandfather.

There’s a very enjoyable historical fiction novel The Forest by Edward Rutherford.
It starts in 1066 and follows the lives of various families who lived in the New Forest environs from that time until the early 19th Century.

Haven’t check world oil market prices lately, so I’m not sure if they are currently under 100/barrel. They may be. Price for any finite natural resource tends to go up with the passage of time. I expect that more than half of all revenue for oil will be for the last few percent to be pumped. If price is currently below $100, maybe it’s a promise to skip over the $100 price point when raised next time.

People who think declining oil production translates directly into declining profits are mistaken.

While I personally don’t mind Putin getting injured because of this, I actually think this ought to be another argument for US energy independence here: A foreign company has control of our energy prices, allowing it to manipulate our economy.

I know some will argue that’s why we need fracking, but I think this points out the reason we need to get away from oil as a fuel source. Oil produced here is combined with all the other oil in the market, but our increase in oil production over the last 6 years didn’t have nearly the impact on prices as OPEC. If we really want to be in control, we need to be using something no one else controls.

We should cooperate with Europe and start lofting large shutters into orbit. Then if the oil-producers get out of hand we can shut off their sunlight and see how they like being on the receiving end of an energy shortage.

You can’t tell me that the GOP doesn’t stand for racists and white supremacists in its midst when people like Scalise are picked to positions of power at all levels of government. What’s interesting is that he admits to having been there and the House GOP is “monitoring” the situation, instead of kicking him to the curb like so much refuse.

That speaks volumes as to the leadership’s willingness to tolerate this kind of behavior until there’s sufficient outrage to find someone less outrageous.

HOPE! CHANGE!!! Obama’s the racist!

The incident was back in 2002 and we’re between Christmas and New Years. Speaker Boehner is likely hoping this one will just fade away.

He’s always joking or “he was being satirical, you libtards just don’t appreciate good satire.” Rush’s whole appeal is to appeal to the bitter old whites that make up his and much of the conservative base. He does that by stoking up resentments. What a black man playing James Bond? Not to take issue, but seen many hippies lately?

There weren’t all that many hippies in the hippie days.

There were a lot of posers though.

I wonder how many people realize the real hippies of the mid- to late-60s declared hippiedom to be dead in late ‘67. They knew what was coming. Mass commercialization and fashion.

My father and some of my uncles smoked pot back in the 20’s and 30s when they were young. I had heard stories and I’ll never forget walking across a wet from rain parking lot with my father and he stopped looked down and kicked some debris and said “Looks like someone dropped some Marijuana.” I walked over to where he was and looked down, as I was young enough to not have known what it looked like.

From that day on, I wondered how the hell he knew. Then I figured it out.

One day many years later my oldest brother, as conservative as they come, started to go on and on about pot and his one daughter and how everyone would be better drinking legal alcohol. This was at a large family gathering.

I saw my opening. I reminded my dad about walking through the parking lot and he spotting the loose, wet pot. I said I had always wondered how he knew. By this time my father was almost 70. Not holding back, and apparently old enough not to care anymore…my father blurted out “Oh hell, we used to smoke that stuff back in the day!”

I don’t think my older brother has ever recovered from that knowledge. Mind completely blown.

I always admitted my usage. Hell, I was in art school in 1972. Pot was the mild side of those times. There were a lot stronger and dangerous drugs…many of them prescription…during my time. I think people are finally starting to figure out the reality of it all.

I’ve never been a slacker. I have always been a driven individual. I own a home, never owed anyone anything, no legal troubles, etc., etc. I make a terrible stoner. That is one reason no one has ever accused me of being one!

Here is Duke’s speech at that workshop:

web.archive.org

Who are the real racial Supremacists?
by David Duke
Broadcast 05/22/2002

This week, EURO National President David Duke shares a portion of his speech given to the joint conferences held last weekend in America and Europe to the International Conference on Human Rights and the EURO Workshop on Civil Rights. David Duke explains how his well-documented, hard-hitting articles on Israeli treachery in regard to the 9-11 attacks and the Jewish supremacy existing in the American media and government have been reprinted in literally hundreds of newspapers and journals all over the world. The articles are appearing in not only the America, Canada and Europe, but literally all over the world. This has led the government of Israel has started an entirely new commission to combat what they call rising anti-Semitism. Of course, David Duke is not anti-Semitic, nor or most other critics of Israel and world-wide Jewish supremacism, but Jewish supremacists such as those who run Israel and who control the media and the foreign policy of America have spent a lot of time and effort to condition the world to oppose so-called anti-Semitism. So they libel any opponent of Israel’s murderous policies as quote anti-semitic.
