Note: Lubbock’s gun-slinger mayor Glenn Robertson has still not asked Governor Abbott for assistance from the Texas Department of Transportation (which has a vast amount of heavy equipment based in Lubbock) or the National Guard in clearing the streets after the record blizzard earlier this week. A high percentage of residential streets are still impassable to normal traffic this morning. The local Jeep club is still out rescuing stranded motorists, while the Guard’s tracks and 6x6 trucks sit quietly gathering snow in the armory yard.

re: #8 Shiplord Kirel

I can understand Robertson not wanting the National Guard on the streets for fear Obama will seize the opportunity to federalize them, take over the city, and institute shariah law, but what is the problem with TxDoT? Are they in on the conspiracy too?

I’m gonna need someone to help me
I’m gonna need somebodies hand
I’m gonna need someone to hold me down
I’m gonna need someone to care
I’m gonna writhe and shake my body
I’ll start pulling out my hair
I’m going to cover myself with the ashes of you and nobody’s gonna give a damn

Son of a bitch
Give me a drink
One more night
This can’t be me
Son of a bitch
If I can’t get clean
I’m gonna drink my life away

Now for seventeen years I’ve been throwing them back
Seventeen more will bury me
Can somebody please just tie me down
Or somebody give me a goddamn drink

Son of a bitch
Give me a drink
One more night
This can’t be me
Son of a bitch
If I can’t get clean
I’m gonna drink my life away

My heart was aching hand are shaking bugs a crawling all over me.

Apparently “hover-priests” are not acceptable in some places.

Filipino priest on hoverboard condemned by church

A Filipino priest has been condemned by diocese authorities, after video of him gliding around church on a hoverboard during Christmas Eve mass went viral.

The priest, who has not been named, can be seen sailing up and down aisles as churchgoers in Laguna province applaud.

“That was wrong,” the Roman Catholic Diocese of San Pablo said in a statement on its Facebook page.

It said he greeted people and sang a Christmas song on the hoverboard and he was now out of the parish to “reflect”.

bbc.com

Novus Ordo, a traditionalist organization within the RCC, uploaded video of the “hover-priest” to its Facebook page, but the reaction has been mixed.

It’s a trademark, and it seems destined to be used as a generic reference, much as we use Kleenex and Coke. But I agree with your objection.

Does anyone still use “xerox” to mean “photocopy” anymore?

Most of them are made in China, and I’ll bet they are not UL or TUV approved. XiaoMi, the company that made my cellphone, also markets a mini-segway for a couple of hundred dollars. I’d trust it not to catch fire, since XiaoMi is reputable, but the other units I’ve seen sold here I’d stay away from.

The single-wheel ones are becoming more common here than the two-wheelers.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - Oregon bakery owners who denied service to a same-sex couple have paid $135,000 in state-ordered damages - after refusing to do so for nearly six months.

Not bad. I use mine to commute to the bus stop so it had to be large enough to carry me and my backpack yet small enough to fit into the cargo bay. The only reason I am thinking about upgrading is that after 3 (or is it 4) years I have more or less ran it into the ground.

This totally sucks.

Even after manhunt, the most ‘affluenza’ teen Ethan Couch can get is 120 days in jail

Even though Couch is 18, his probation was still being handled by juvenile court, which means that officials would only be able to put him in detention until his 19th birthday in April, at which point he would have to be released, Wilson told reporters. The remainder of his 10 years of probation would then roll over to adult court, but he would be free.

Hell, his mom faces even more time in the slammer than he does.

Tarrant County District Attorney Sharen Wilson said Tonya Couch would be charged with hindering an arrest, which carries a sentence of two to 10 years in prison.

And I hope she gets the max for this little stunt.

Yeah, this would be karma. He got a slap on the wrist for killing four people in DUI, blaming his upbringing. His mom should get hit with maximum sentence for hindering arrest, aiding and abetting, conspiracy, and whatever other charges a prosecutor could come up with and serve the entire time. I’m sure prosecutors will see what they can do with the mom’s charges.

Gawd. Can the Trump campaign sink even lower?

Why yes, of course they can.

Trump spokesperson who sported bullet necklace on CNN threatens to wear a fetus next time

Responding to criticism over her fashion decision to wear a necklace featuring bullets during a CNN interview, the spokesperson for Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign sarcastically suggested that she might wear a fetus around her neck during her next TV appearance.

For some reason I don’t think she was being sarcastic in the least.

This is why they are working to waive him into adult court. If they can do that then it becomes a different game and he’s looking at all 10 years in prison. In addition, they could charge him, at least in Wisconsin don’t know for sure there, with the fleeing which is itself a felony. If the DA wants to, there are ways just as if the DA doesn’t want to (see the murdered Tamir Rice) nothing will happen.

Yup. Because early term fetuses don’t look at all baby-like. Also, they’re too small.

My daughter has an app on her Facebook page that tracks the size of the growing baby, and compares it to common objects. Her baby is now past sweet potato size. (Actually, probably a large sweet potato, since she’s at 19 weeks now.)

Sanger, 1939: The minister’s work is also important and he should be trained, perhaps by the Federation as to our ideals and the goal that we hope to reach. We do not want word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population and the minister is the man who can straighten out that idea if it ever occurs to any of their more rebellious members.

Sanger says that a minister could debunk the notion, if it arose, that the clinics aimed to “exterminate the Negro population.” She didn’t say that she wanted to “exterminate” the black population. The Margaret Sanger Papers Project at New York University says that this quote has “gone viral on the Internet,” normally out of context, and it “doesn’t reflect the fact that Sanger recognized elements within the black community might mistakenly associate the Negro Project with racist sterilization campaigns in the Jim Crow south, unless clergy and other community leaders spread the word that the Project had a humanitarian aim.”

AP Poll: Christian Liberties More Vital Than Muslim Rights

Americans are more likely to say protecting religious liberties of Christians is important than to say the same for Muslims, according to a new poll by The Associated Press and the NORC Center for Public Affairs Research.

But they’re significantly more likely to say so of some groups than others. While 82 percent of Americans say that it’s extremely or very important that Christians be allowed to freely practice their religion in the United States, just 61 percent say the same for Muslims.

There was an article a while ago about how the fireboards are all cheap knockoffs that went into production around the same time as the original. I can’t find that article, but here’s another newsweek.com

The real one is $600. You can get several that catch on fire for that price.

Screw the assholes who are running Texas.

The State of Texas continued its scorched-earth strategy in dealing with Planned Parenthood this week by stopping more than half a million dollars in federal funding the organization uses for HIV prevention and screening across the Greater Houston area.

That money, some $600,000 every year, comes from the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention but is administered by state health officials. And for nearly three decades, that money has gone to Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast to fund HIV testing and counseling, condom distribution and referral services to connect anyone who has the virus with specialized care.

That will end on December 31, when the organization’s current contract is set to expire, according to a tersely worded letter Planned Parenthood received late Monday from the Texas Department of State Health Services. “There will be no further renewals of this contract,” the letter states, without further explanation.

I bet the little creep freaks out big time just with 120 days Just think how many times he will be pissing his pants when others in the jail give him shit. That kid has never had to be around anyone other than the elite most likely so, this could be a huge penalty to him. I agree it is not enough…but I have a feeling he will screw up again and get no breaks in the future. I hope he doesn’t kill anyone in the meantime.

Mom should be hit hard. She and daddy created the little monster. And mommy took off with junior to hide him. I bet she is the biggest excuse maker for her little darling so time to pay for poor parenting momma. I wish they could charge the father with something too. The whole family needs a good swift kick in the ass.

Ethan Couch and his mother, Tonya Couch, filed a “legal writ” to remain in Mexico after being caught in a resort town south of the border this week, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported Wednesday morning. The pair, who had been on the run for several weeks after it appeared Ethan may have violated his parole, had been set to be shipped back to Texas on Wednesday night.

“They’re trying to fight being brought back somehow,” Sheriff Dee Anderson said. “It’s just a continuing string of what we’ve seen all along. We’re patient people. We’ll be waiting.”

My guess that he acts like a preteen emotionally may be too mature a guess. Gonna have to reconsider.

Clearly Hillary needs to talk about the crap he spews in his ‘speeches’ and how fucked up it all is, but never mention him ever. It will drive him nuts. Who knows, maybe he will start to stalk her events standing outside in the cold rain and snow yelling for her to come out and acknowledge TRUMP®.

But what I really hope is the guys in the white coats take him away when he breaks out in sweats, seeing things and foaming at the mouth.

I’m not surprised by anything he says. What surprises me is that it works. I had not thought this many Americans were so easily duped, so hungry to be led by a Strong Man who promises to hurt all the people they’re afraid of, so easily swayed by such a ridiculously over-the-top buffoon. THAT has come as a shock.

My opinion on his supporters is they are abject cowards. Afraid of everything. Even as they are armed to the teeth. They need protection. And all these years the mantra of the hard guy right wing was “those who give up Liberty to…blah blah blah. Cowards. Can’t even go to the store without packing to protect themselves from the….just what? Yeah. We have a large slice of stupid angry at all the wrong people.

But he said workers in Michigan should lose their jobs until they agree to work for non-union pay.

It doesn’t matter what he said, just as it doesn’t matter what he says. He promises to punish the people his followers are afraid of, and that’s what they want.

Okay, trying more specific sourcing. This one has the full source notation in the source part of the quote, which I feel makes it a bit cluttered. It also has the text in both the EXIF and IPTC metadata.

The GOP electorate have been primed for years to blame the press for asking ‘Gotcha’ questions when they try to hold politicians to what they’ve said, or ask them about discrepancies. We’re now seeing the effect of unmooring a large chunk of the population not only from fact, but also from questioning.
