Video: Trump Ally Alex Jones Says Obama and Clinton Are Possessed by Demons, Stink of Sulphur

This is the GOP presidential candidate’s go-to news source

Media Matters

Here’s the Alex Jones segment President Obama referenced today, in which Jones flies completely off the rails and says “high up folks” told him that Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama are possessed by demons and “smell like sulfur.”

ALEX JONES (HOST): I’m never a lesser of two evils person, but with Hillary, there’s not even the same universe. She is an abject, psychopathic, demon from Hell that as soon as she gets into power is going to try to destroy the planet. I’m sure of that, and people around her say she’s so dark now, and so evil, and so possessed that they are having nightmares, they’re freaking out. Folks let me just tell you something, and if media wants to go with this, that’s fine. There are dozens of videos and photos of Obama having flies land on him, indoors, at all times of year, and he’ll be next to a hundred people and no one has flies on them. Hillary, reportedly, I mean, I was told by people around her that they think she’s demon-possessed, okay? I’m just going to go ahead and say it, okay?

They said that they’re scared. That’s why when I see her when kids are by her, I actually get scared myself, with a child — with that big rubber face and that — I mean this woman is dangerous, ladies and gentleman. I’m telling you, she is a demon. This is Biblical. She’s going to launch a nuclear war. The Russians are scared of her.

[…]

Imagine how bad she smells, man? I’m told her and Obama, just stink, stink, stink, stink. You can’t wash that evil off, man. Told there’s a rotten smell around Hillary. I’m not kidding, people say, they say — folks, I’ve been told this by high up folks. They say listen, Obama and Hillary both smell like sulfur. I never said this because the media will go crazy with it, but I’ve talked to people that are in protective details, they’re scared of her. And they say listen, she’s a frickin’ demon and she stinks and so does Obama. I go, like what? Sulfur. They smell like Hell.

This isn’t even a “conspiracy theory,” it’s pure insanity. Alex Jones needs help.

And remember, folks — this is the raving freak Donald Trump praised for having an “amazing reputation.” Trump has gone on his show, and his sons and surrogates frequently tweet links to Jones’ vile conspiracy-mongering websites.

And here’s President Obama throwing shade on Jones without ever mentioning his name.

Fill me in if you can please, lizards. I’ve had MSNBC and CNN on the tube for the past couple of months and all they talk about is Trump, so I have no idea who this “Hillary” person is. Is she like a friend of Melania?

Nate Silver notes Republican women are un-endorsing (or never endorsed) Donald Trump at twice the rate of Republican men (elected officials that is):

There’s more on Josh Marshall’s Twitter feed discussing the emails. People are actually pushing back on him a bit, but really, we KNOW these came through Putin’s hands. Why would we so blithely accept any of them?

” Why would we so blithely accept any of them?”

I’ve noticed for decades that some on the Right will accept things today that they would have rejected in the past. When Reagan was in office, the former Soviet Union and everything about it was to be hated, but today, Putin and his style of governing are praised in public by some GOPers and by some of their politicians. If something/one can serve a useful purpose for them, they’ll embrace it and forget that they hated it in the past. I don’t understand their ability to do this, but they seem pretty adept at it. They invest quite a bit of time and effort into rewriting history. Limbaugh, O’/Reilly, Hannity, and many others on the Right have increased the size of their bank accounts by “reinterpreting” our history and “interpreting” the Constitution to reflect their personal and political agendas.

I honestly don’t think there’s anything Trump could do to lose the support of his most dedicated followers.

E.g., Trump if were to propose a tax increase, it would get rationalized with: “A cunning plan to peel off Democrats in the general election”.

Trump’s supporters are doing a big “fuck you” to everyone else in the country, and support for Trump is just their way of flipping everyone off.

If Trump were to quit and suggest his supporters should vote for Clinton, that would just be proof that someone ‘Got to Trump’. 90+% of these idiots would still write in “The Real Donald Trump” on the ballot if one of them were bright enough to come up with the idea and spread it on social media.

It all goes back to the fact that for many of these single-issue voters, it doesn’t matter whose name is on the ticket, as long as there’s an (R) next to it. It seems to be unique to Republican voters, or at least, I haven’t found a cause that any liberal extremists are so devoted to that they will vote along party lines no matter who’s actually running.

That includes Alex Jones basically recycling Hugo Chavez sulfur smelling Satan UN comment. They aren’t very original and forget who they demonize in the past.

Yeah I love that disconnect. They claim they love him because he tells it as is but whenever he’s caught saying something like that, there’s always an excuse like “locker room talk” or it wasn’t bigoted like what he did with Judge Curiel. The funny thing about those who insist they’re drawn to Trump’s political incorrectness is the thin skinned bastard wants to make libel laws more strict so HE can sue people more easily. CNN had one of the reporters that he sued once for saying he wasn’t worth as he claimed to be. Trump isn’t a confident man. He’s in fact very insecure. They’ve known all along that the GOP is filled with misogynists who think women are to be used as incubators for their kids, cooks, housekeepers, childcare workers, and used to satisfy their sexual needs. The way they pass legislation regulating what we can/can’t do with our own bodies illustrates this to me. What they’re currently in the process of doing doesn’t mean they think women are their equals and are capable of making their own decisions, it’s a move that is focused solely on saving their political careers. Ryan laid the groundwork in that conference call yesterday by giving them permission to save their own *sses. I recall how reluctant they were to oppose Todd Akin in 2012, and as far as I can see, they’d do the same with Trump if he hadn’t been caught on tape saying what he said. Hell, if you think about it, you could see Trump’s remarks as “locker room talk.” It’s the sort of talk I’m sure he and Ailes and Bannon are familiar with, the talk of rich old men talking about their latest conquest. That little intern they ordered to give them head because otherwise they were going to fire them. The girl from the mailroom they promised a promotion for a “favor.” The maid that they took liberties with while the wife was away on “business.” These are men used to the abuse of power, of using their money to get them out of jams and putting women into them. That’s what so many of these “alpha males” are responding to, the power fantasies of being rich enough to get away with anything.

Or, has the family needs taken her?

Obviously she is no longer needed. Her job was to clean up his act…that is bind him to a real campaign.

Nicomedes of Bithynia.

Cicero had a nice joke about Caesar who first slept with a king and then wanted to be one.

A story I heard a lot during the Clinton years: A world leader, or at least a very high-level official, was left cooling his heels, late for his appointment with the President because Monica was in the office. I have to think Trump will do no better.

…note well: Donald Trump is not a black swan, an unforeseen event erupting upon an unsuspecting Republican Party. He is the end result of conscious and deliberate choices by the GOP, going back decades, to demonize its opponents, to polarize and obstruct, to pursue policies that enfeeble the political weal and to yoke the bigot and the ignorant to their wagon and to drive them by dangling carrots that they only ever intended to feed to the rich. Trump’s road to the candidacy was laid down and paved by the Southern Strategy, by Lee Atwater and Newt Gingrich and Karl Rove, by Fox News and the Tea Party, and by the smirking cynicism of three generations of GOP operatives, who have been fracking the white middle and working classes for years, crushing their fortunes with their social and economic policies, never imagining it would cause an earthquake.

Well, surprise! Here’s Donald Trump. He is the actual and physical embodiment of every single thing the GOP has trained its base to want and to be over the last forty years — ignorant, bigoted and money-grubbing, disdainful of facts and frightened of everything because of it, an angry drunk buzzed off of wood-grain patriotism, threatening brown people and leering at women. He was planned. He was intended. He was expected. He was wanted.

Lots of good stuff in that piece. Another sample:

Trump is the party guest who sets fire to your house, gropes your spouse and drives over your neighbor’s cat when he leaves; the GOP is left to deal with the police and the angry neighbors. It’s almost piteous, except when you scrub back to five hours earlier to hear the GOP say “What, Trump wants to come to the party? Well, he’s an asshole who drove Fred Jones’ car into the pool the other weekend, but he’s always good for a laugh, isn’t he? Surely it will be fine,” and then tells him to bring his bad boy self right on over.

There’s been no fever so far and I otherwise feel fine - ran my 8 miles this morning without any difficulty. (Before the coughing started, which has flared a few times since about 4.)

Many had hopes he would wreck the GOP and it seems as if that is the goal. Looks like he has a bunch of helpers willing to go along.

It sure is going to be an interesting last four weeks. Could be a lot of Republican rubble after Trump and gang finish this run.

If anything, the GOP is going to be forced to change. The only questions is to what degree and where to start. They have to send a strong signal to get the riff-raff out and that is going to cost them several years of remodeling. If they don’t clean house, they won’t stand a chance of having the base support anything that isn’t totally nutty and radical.

I wonder how much longer Paul Ryan will be Speaker of the House if they maintain the house majority? I don’t see him as being strong enough to lead a big change.

If he lives another four years (just by looking at his face, I’m skeptical) he’ll be back at the head of a new Deplorable Party (maybe called something else, maybe not.) He figures he’s got a hard floor of 40%, figures he can pull in another point or two, and if the economy’s down a little, thinks he can pull off 42% to Hillary’s 38, with 20% for the rump Republican Party. I am not sure how the rump of the GOP gets to 20% under that scenario. If Trump gets 42% of the vote, most of that comes out of the GOP’s hide. Maybe they can get 5-6% of the vote, but I just can’t see them getting more than that. I’d also throw in the point that the white share of the vote seems to be declining at about 2% per presidential election, which makes it really hard for me to see how Trump and the GOP between them get to 62%.

I can certainly see Trump running again - but I think his die-hards are going to be fewer(and in some cases deader) than you suppose. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him win the GOP nomination again, given what a mess their primaries are and what a rabble his competition would be. I suspect that he would then go on to lose to Clinton again quite handily and accelerate the GOP’s decline into a party of repellent white male rage artists incapable of winning the White House.

I think the opposite will happen—-democrats will become more pissed at him than they already are and will be more determined than ever to show up at the polls and make sure 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. is not his new address in 2017. Trump and his supporters seem to be real sure of the things they say, but they have no clue.
