Trump Wanted to Hide News About Hope Hicks Testing Positive

Politics • Views: 21,766

So today we’ve learned that Donald Trump tried to keep the news about Hope Hicks testing positive for COVID-19 secret.

And even worse; he knew about the Hicks diagnosis when he traveled to his Bedminster golf club to meet with top Republican donors.

Those donors are now reportedly “freaking out.”

Luckily, Joe Biden and his wife Jill have tested negative after Trump yelled insanely at him for two hours sans masks.

P. S. …

Trump has regularly and repeatedly ignored public health experts’ warnings about masking and social distancing.

Now we have Pence refusing to quarantine and his “doc” giving him the green light to avoid having to quarantine despite being in the room where multiple people had covid19 and everyone was not masking or social distancing.

These people are fucking insane.

Testing isn’t a substitute for masking the fuck up.

The tests don’t prevent you from getting covid19. They only indicate that you’ve become infected.

These people are fucking lunatics with a microphone and should not be allowed to handle sharp objects.

Teddy's Person ✌  Oct 2, 2020 • 11:39:46am

My feeling about Trump catching the ‘rona is satisfaction that there are finally some consequences in his life. How sick he gets, whether he survives, becomes a long-hauler - well that’s up to ‘rona.

He has access to the best healthcare in the country and will not lose his job because he’s sick, unlike many people in the country. He has staff around him to see that he has everything he wants or needs during his confinement. Again, many people in the country have to fend for themselves and often don’t have the resources they need.

If his friends, family and supporter’s want to wish him well, more power to them. I am currently out of fucks to give.

Trumpworld will never reverse course or admit they were wrong about anything.

That’s an admission that they were wrong, and Trump thinks that’s a show of weakness.

So they’ll keep doing what they’ve been doing all along, which is ignore the science, facts, and reality, and think wishful thinking and miracles will save Trumpworld from the fates.

And all the while, more Americans die and get sick from covid19 because the GOP simply wont mandate masking or social distancing and because Trump politicized masking, making it easier to spread covid19…

There was discussion on the last thread about his illness obliterating all other news. But as usual, they’re fucking it up in real time. No medical briefing. Happy talk from the COS. Kayleigh refusing to provide details. Pence given the green light to maintain a normal schedule.

They’re trying to bull their way through this like they always do. They still don’t realize that ‘Rona don’t give a fuck.

This.

They think that they can bluster and bulkshit covid19.

All covid19 does is spread and useful morons like Trumpworld who wont mask and social distance are easy marks.

He’s only the second person, besides Rush Limbaugh, that I can say has absolutely broken me to the point where I literally can’t give a shit about him.

I don’t necessarily want either of them to die… personally, I don’t want anyone to die. But I also don’t have to extend any sympathy to either of them. Instead, I’ll chalk this up to the universe or karma or dumb luck balancing the scales.

Fox and Friends has the hot take on how catching the ‘rona might be good for Trump.

BRIAN KILMEADE: Byron, something else. Think about the president running the country doing the campaign. He’s a one-man machine. He doesn’t have a lot of surrogates outside of his family doing a lot of the work that he can do. This is also an opportunity to recalibrate, strategize, prepare for the second debate. Go over your tapes. Go over the policies, study your opponent. That could be this forced study time, forced reflex time. And maybe, you know, brainstorm. C&L

Trump might be coughing up a lung but now is the time when he buckles down for some introspection.

Anyone in Trumpworld who isn’t now wearing a mask or social distancing to protect themselves is a lunatic who should be shunned and ignored for all time. Their character and judgment is lacking and this is proof.

I’m also thinking of going to school when I’m old enough to qualify for the state program to send old people to school for free. I’m 60, so two years. I’m doing research and making phone calls, and maybe I’ll decide to run for something else, but dealing with the school system is something I did for 13 yrs with my kid. I know I’m not the only one. I am not sure what other offices I’d consider, some of it requires some experience that I don’t have. 2. Cleveland Clinic said that they would follow guidelines. Yet, they didn’t mandate masks be worn.

You’re sweet to say so. I am not sure I could get through an interview or debate without saying FUCK in every sentence, lol. School board vacancy is 4 yrs from now, so I have time to prep. I wish this stupid pandemic was under control, I could go talk to people instead of waiting for phone calls or emails.

Personally, I think our politics could use someone getting on a debate stage and saying something like “this fucking guy…”

My basic idea, possible universe building:

young president (in his/her 40s), decides not to run for a second term (not entirely sure why, strain on marriage, family crisis, something like that). After a couple cycles away, writing, possibly teaching, a leadership vacuum forms in the party and they decide to run again.

Given the nature of the virus, if things go bad, they’re going to have to invoke the 25th Amendment - whether it’s Section 3 or 4. So it’s entirely plausible that if Trump were to shuffle loose this mortal coil, Pence would already be Acting President.

The more interesting/difficult question is what happens if he dies before the election? Can the GOP replace him on the ballot? Will Electors be instructed to vote for Pence? What about the VP choice?

from electoral-vote.com this AM

The ballots are already set across the country, and cannot be changed (especially since millions of votes have already been cast), even if a candidate dies….Since a vote for Trump/Pence is really just a vote for Trump/Pence electors, then the election would legally be in the electors’ hands. This is true today, and will remain so through Election Day and up until the electors meet in December. But there is an interesting twist here. In July the Supreme Court ruled that electors must vote for the state’s winner (except in ME and NE). There was no footnote saying: * except when the candidate is in the intensive care unit at death’s door.

That said, even with the election technically in the electors’ hands, the parties would certainly make their feelings known. Since electors are party loyalists, they would probably heed the parties’ wishes, particularly if they feared that even a couple of defections might lead to the election of the opposing candidate….

The RNC would keep Pence on the ticket, probably elevating him to #1, but maybe not. For his hypothetical running mate, all signs point to Nikki Haley; it’s hard to imagine they would seriously consider anyone else.

Grant won an easy re-election over Greeley, with a popular vote margin of 11.8% and 763,000 votes.

Grant also won the electoral college with 286 electoral votes; while Greeley won 66 electoral votes, he died on November 29, 1872, twenty-four days after the election and before any of his pledged electors (from Texas, Missouri, Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia, and Maryland) could cast their votes. Subsequently, 63 of Greeley’s electors cast their votes for other Democrats: 18 of them cast their presidential votes for Greeley’s running mate, Benjamin Gratz Brown, and 45 cast their presidential votes for three non-candidates.

20th Amendment, Section 3:

If, at the time fixed for the beginning of the term of the President, the President elect shall have died, the Vice President elect shall become President. If a President shall not have been chosen before the time fixed for the beginning of his term, or if the President elect shall have failed to qualify, then the Vice President elect shall act as President until a President shall have qualified; and the Congress may by law provide for the case wherein neither a President elect nor a Vice President elect shall have qualified, declaring who shall then act as President, or the manner in which one who is to act shall be selected, and such person shall act accordingly until a President or Vice President shall have qualified.

Based on that, even if the electors voted for Trump and Pence (assuming they won), Pence would become president. In the scenario where he’s technically elected vice president, he’d be sworn in as president and then would have to appoint a new VP to be confirmed by the House and Senate.

re: #219 KGxvi

20th Amendment, Section 3:

Based on that, even if the electors voted for Trump and Pence (assuming they won), Pence would become president. In the scenario where he’s technically elected vice president, he’d be sworn in as president and then would have to appoint a new VP to be confirmed by the House and Senate.

assumes an R win - this is true but i think you gotta back up further

if this happened before the election, the R’s would have to do something. selection someone else as prez, or elevate pence and select a vp (yeah they could leave the vp out). they’d have to try and salvage something

but realistically, if this happened, there is no way this year in these circumstances that the R ticket wins

Reading between the lines, it looks very bad for Cheeto. I figure there is roughly a one in three chance he will die. We need to discuss that so we can be prepared.

As an ex-hater, I am a little hesitant about taking joy in the death of a hateful destructive person, since there is a chance they could see the light and reform. It has happened many times. That’s why I was genuinely saddened when Andrew Breitbart died. However, there is a point at which this is no longer a realistic possibility, when a person is “given up to their sins.” Mass murder is a key designator for that point, and Trump is well past it.

In essence, Trump has been given TWO medications, as I read the CNN article. That’s usually a bad sign as you don’t know which of the medications yielded a clinical benefit.
