-RetweetAnarchist All-Stars Head to Manhattan

Fri, Aug 27, 2004 at 5:28:47 pm PDT

Among the other antisocial morons and borderline criminals who will be attending the Republican Convention in Manhattan with the intent to cause chaos, I’m glad to see that the NYPD is aware of one of the worst—Canadian Islamic agent provocateur Jaggi Singh: Anarchists hot for mayhem.

Jaggi Singh, 32, a Canadian citizen, is known for allegedly setting off hoax devices to detour police resources. He allegedly catapulted teddy bears soaked with gasoline at police at the Quebec G-20 protest in 2001, according to NYPD reports.

A member of the International Solidarity Movement, or ISM, he was seen shooting a handgun, and allegedly received firearms training from Toure, according to a police source.

Singh has appeared dozens of times at LGF, starting with his support for the violent Palestinian riot at Montreal’s Concordia University on September 9, 2002:

He sounds like trouble. I hope he accidentally gets shot in the head.

Wow. 33 matches on an entries only search. Cheez.

The ISM, of which he is a member, is rapidly morphing into the modern-day equivalent of the Red Brigades or the Weather Underground. They are no longer a "protest group." They are a terrorist organization.

To be an anarchist is to advocate the overthrow of all civilization. This implies a whole lot of murder and is therefore logically not protected speech. It is, in fact, treason. Throw the book at them.

8 Big Digger  Fri, Aug 27, 2004 3:36:17pm

Perhaps one of our militant Canadian readers would be kind enough to come to New York and bring this flaming hemorrhoid back home to the land of such greats as Carolyn Parrish.

I know that it is asking too much for said militant to bring a weapon and touch off this scum.

Accurate, well done.

Yeah, just realized that clicking through the results, Charles :-) I guess I assumed the other radio button would be selected if it were an entries+comments search.

Hmm. That's because of a browser back button issue. I hate those.

Maybe they should call in all the chapters of the Guardian Angels...for purely back-up purposes.
Then ,when they had a "problem" , a "non-governmental" group could step in and make it NOT WORTH the anarchist time!!!
Just a thought

NYPD had better get the dogs, rubber bullets, firehoses, tear gas, and discounts on Broadway shows ready.

First logic I have ever seen from the BBC.

Europe admits sanctioning does not work

What? This on the heels of Kofi Annan back patting himself saying that sanctions were the reason Saddam had no WMDs.

Time to trim off some dead wood from that useless organisation.

23 Eagle  Fri, Aug 27, 2004 3:50:48pm

Groooan!

I've seen this guy on TVO, "debating" the "evils" of globalization and capitalism. Not much of a debater, if that surprises anyone. At least he hasn't pulled anyone's hair ... yet.

There something about us Canadians... we love to put moonbat opinions on TV, just to get "all points of view". Before long, I'm sure he'll have a column in the Toronto Star.

If he shows up in New York, please keep him.

I believe that Singh is not Muslim--just a sympathizer...according to the biography of Jaggi Singh, he is the son of a Sikh father (who abandoned him when he was a child) and a Catholic mother...

He is a complete loser whatever his religion is...Israel deported him and we should, too!

26 Ed Moran: Abu GOMEX aoa 28C  Fri, Aug 27, 2004 3:57:36pm

If I lived in NYC, and these losers distracted the NYC enough that a real terror attack happened, I'd be so tempted to exact street justice.

A little fanstasy about punching a freak like this unconcious, then stomping his groin repeatedly until I was sure his testicles were smashed like rotted grapes.

27 Eagle  Fri, Aug 27, 2004 4:02:22pm

OT:

I was reading the transcript of Max Cleland's letter to Bush. Cleland's Letter

One quote that strikes me as hypocritical:

Our pain from seeing these slanderous attacks stems from something much more fundamental, that if one veteran's record is called into question, the service of all American veterans is questioned.

Why does this only apply to Bush? Didn't Kerry 'call into question' the service of hundreds of thousands of vets with his testimony in front of the Senate?

Ayep, yesterday's "ass-terpiece theater" bit was just the tip of the iceberg. Before the week's out, I expect at least one riot, a few thousand scumbags behind bars, and the left's image utterly scorched for this election cycle. Keep your VCRs ready to get images of the "non-violent protestors" at work.

What is up with Canadians? Why are these morons coming to the USA? Stay the f*ck out of our electoral process. It's the weekend dammit but if you read post #31 on this thread, can you get the word to the Border Patrol to not let this bus cross the border, or, better yet, let it across and impound it and it's occupants, holding them for at least for a week?

Realistically, this bus can only cross at Niagara Falls (three bridges there), the Peace Bridge in Buffalo and the 1000 Islands Bridge.

They have no business here and should be made very unwelcome.

Ahhh, I remember all the pre convention hype here in Philly in '00.

Yeah the blue haired tatooed freaks showed up in droves. Yeah they laid down in the middle of a major road during rush hour on a Friday. Yeah about 1000 were arrested and then proceeded to shit themselves in prison as a form of "protest" (I guess that one may have backfired).

No major rioting. No major violence.

Hopefully the NYC situation will be reminicent of same. Doubtful though in light of the sheer numbers of these idiots.

Will be watching from the safety and comfort of my big red couch..

47 Ed Moran: Abu GOMEX aoa 28C  Fri, Aug 27, 2004 4:33:23pm

Maybe its just me, but in the last few frames, the outflow on the western edge of Frances looks slightly restricted, and perhaps the southwest corner of the eyewall has broken down a little.

So maybe Hurricane Frances has briefly leveled out in intensity.

Of course, in any major hurricane, fluctuations of intensity aren't unusual.

The upside to all this is that this freak-o-rama in the streets is going to be yet another black eye for Senator Lurch's campaign (as if he weren't already doing as much damage as possible himself).

Don't forget to say a prayer for all the NYPD and EMTs that are going to have to be out there with them to keep the little darlings from hurting themselves.

50 Ed Moran: Abu GOMEX aoa 28C  Fri, Aug 27, 2004 4:38:43pm

I'm just not fond of people purposely trying to keep the NYPD from doing there job while there is a group that killed 3000 Americans in the same city and would love to pull off the repeat.

I just said I don't live in NYC, but if I did, and another terror attack killed American cities, I'd probably go postal on the terror supporting freaks.

I do believe Dan Rather et ux and the visual media (video and still photogs) will do their best to minimize the role of the freaks, and try to portray this as proof that Bush is so divisive. Trust me, if a thousand rocks are thrown at the cops, and one cop swings a nightstick at a freak, the cop swinging the stick will be the news item.

#24, ivymike: This long, rather turgid piece by a Bay Area leftie is actually on point in a couple places. Just don't drive after reading.

I couldn't read it all the way through. The tinfoil-hat shit was dragging me down:

Today, the right-wing media infrastructure is so pervasive, its opposition researchers, broadcast proselytizers, and think-tankers so disciplined and coordinated, that any leftist misstep is immediately amplified through its echo chamber of talk radio and Murdoch media and spread to every breakfast table in America...in New York, a small army of Republican Party apparatchiks, Fox News television producers, and Wall Street Journal editorialists are waiting for you, and they're a lot more sophisticated than you will ever be.

I've got a friend who rants all the time about similar crap like how the Scaifes et al. have sunk so much money into the media so they can brainwash everybody in America, how most right-wing bloggers are being paid off by the GOP or their allies, and who regularly sends me articles like this complete hatchet job on Swift Boat Veterans for Truth.

Yep, we're all Minions of Rove. Where's my check from the VRWC, anyway? I'm still unemployed and I could use the bux. Charles, you get your check yet? Maybe there's some holdup in Payroll...

The double standard of coverage is so blatant, and so many of us have come over from the left (though some of us may still have liberal outlooks on particular issues) of our own accord. Yet so many people seem to think that the only way a news item discrediting the left could get out to the public via some sort of evil conspiracy, and their POV is so obvious that anyone who disagrees with it is, if not an evil conniver him- or herself, then merely stupid and/or deluded. It's depressing, especially as I live amongst so many of these people.

(BTW, said hatchet job is by Doug Thompson of CapitolHillBlue, the asshat who wrote the story "Bush's Erratic Behavior Worries White House Aides." Turned out his source was a fraud named Terrance Wilkinson "who identified himself as a former CIA operative." This dude puts it succinctly: "Doug Thompson, washed-up, has-been, never-was, alcoholic scumbag, liar, erratic lowlife subhuman web-urinalist, lies once again about President Bush. Buy a clue, fat man.")

56 Stop Hillary  Fri, Aug 27, 2004 4:57:14pm

More on the Canadian Bus.

If the bus crosses in the 1000 Islands or at any of the Western NY crossings, it has to travel in the USA on Interstate 81 for some period of time. Either it takes NY Thruway east from Buffalo picking up 81 South in Syracuse or it crosses at the 1000 Islands and comes down 81 South from the Alexandria Bay. How will you know it's the right bus? Because you can count on these assholes to advertise themselves.

Then it is likey to come through PA to Route 380/80E and NJ to NYC. Could also come through State Route 17 out of Binghamton NY thru the Catskills to NYC.

In any event, if any LGFers see it, be sure to give them all the one finger salute. Of course, no one should exceed the speed limit as that is illegal, not to mention dangerous, so if anyone should pull in front of it, be sure to travel at the speed limit (but not less than the minimum legal speed limit). If a rude Canadian bus driver were to tailgate you, speed up and avoid any danger. Of course, tailgating is a traffic offense and I'm sure that a 911 call to the State Troopers would elicit a prompt response and appropriate investigation of the incident and the issuance of the proper citations if warranted.

And wouldn't it be a shame if at a rest area, passenger vehicles had breakdowns in the parking lot just in front of and behind the bus. Stranger coincidences have been known to happen.

It shouldn't even be necessary to deport the little schitzo. If he has a criminal record, he should be stopped at the border and not permitted in the U.S. at all.

Heck, I've got a friend who lives here. Her son was turned back at the border, in spite of a valid visa, because they said he was carrying too much luggage to be only staying two weeks. And this was PRIOR to 9/11. We think his shaved head, tattoo and piercings were a factor, although we know him to be a really fine young man. He's a preacher, in fact. I'm only relating this story to say that I KNOW that they can prevent people they don't want here from coming over the border, if only because they don't like the look of them.

#63 NY Nana -- "They could also go Queenston-Lewiston, which is what we always do, after so many years."

Actually, ahem, Amercans properly refer to that crossing as the "Lewiston - Queeston" bridge. It's one of the Western, NY crossings I referred to (along Peace Bridge in Buffalo, Whirlpool Rapids Bridge, and the Rainbow Bridge. I have family living in the shadow of the Lewiston - Queenston Bridge. I grew up literally looking at Canada from across the Niagara River gorge.

I rate them, with Lewiston first, as the most likely crossings. 1000 Islands would be used if I had the time and were more clever.

I do have to go into NYC everyday, including next week, and that's why the thought of foreign citizens contributing to the nightmare really really pisses me off. Our First Amendment protects the rights of some of the shitheads that are coming here but the notion that Canadian agitators are going to benefit from it too is appalling to me. If they make it to NYC, nightsticks to the head of every last one of them. I don't care if they die here -- too many Americans died at the WTC to have to be shit on in this City by useless Canadian scum. I except from that remark, the Canadians that regulary post here. But 9/11 is seared into my mind, and yes, John effing Kerry, unlike you, I was really in NYC when that memory was seared into my mind.

Jaggi Singh: Reply to New York City tabloid and police smears and lies
Posted by: ron, Section: USA
Posted on Fri Aug 27th, 2004 at 08:04:02 AM PST
MONTREAL | August 27, 2004 | Jaggi Singh

Jaggi Singh has written a response to the corporate media on the involvement of anarchists (they mention
him by name) at the upcoming Republican National convention. They are building "the fear" in preparation for what seems likely to be a large police crack-down on the rights of people to raise their voice in opposition to a oppressive government and a two-party/one-voice electoral system.

Part of that response from Jaggi Singh:

"Yes, I was a volunteer with the International Solidarity Movement (ISM), and I'm a member of the ISM in
Montreal. I was privileged to be able to observe firsthand the courage and steadfastness of ordinary Palestinians as
they confront daily injustice and defend their dignity, and to continue to support the work of the ISM from Montreal.
The ISM is a Palestinian-led group of Palestinians and internationals that are working to raise awareness of the struggle for Palestinian freedom and an end to Israeli occupation. The ISM uses nonviolent, direct-action methods of resistance
to confront and challenge illegal Israeli occupation forces and policies while also recognizing the Palestinian right to resist Israeli violence and occupation via legitimate armed struggle. However, the ISM itself is committed to the principles of nonviolent resistance. The claim that the ISM is a violent group, or might potentially engage in violence at the RNC, is ludicrous."

You mean that you figuratively had him in your reach and Canadians didn't have the good sense to hold him, give him an enema, and ship him back to the USA in a matchbox?

Talk about missed opportunities. :-)

If that terrorist supporting scumbag Singh makes it to NYC, it wouldn't break my heart if he gets lost on the Subway, ends up where he shouldn't, is mugged, robbed of his wallet and knifed in the process. If we are gonna have another victimn crime statistic in NYC, it wouldn't hurt if chance favored him.

Would anyone be seriously upset if in response to the illegal use of thoroughfares, which denies the traveling public their lawful use of them, motorists were to get out of their cars, beat the living crap out of the bikers and then stomped on the spokes of their bikes?

It wouldn't upset me at all.

In fact, impound the bikes, melt them down and make bullets to kill Jihadis.

RNC protesters to coordinate using cell phones and "short messaging service".

info.interactivist.net/article.pl?sid=04/08/27/191 3242

The protests against the RNC here in New York City will be massive!

While all the people resisting the RNC over so many days at so many locations is an amazing statement against the Bush administration and theRepublican agenda, the massiveness of it all does present a logistical challenge for you, the activist on the street. How to stay informed? How to know where things are happening? How can so many people spread out over the entire city work together more effectively? The NYC Comms Collective, along with the folks at txtmob.com are ready to help answer those questions.

We have a put together a network of scouts and other trusted contacts who will
feed the information they gather to your cell phone via text messages throughout
the protests, from Critical Mass on Friday to the UFPJ March Sunday, the Poor Peoples' March on Monday, and through the A31 day of action.

Commentary:

Perhaps that message service could be down for "upgrades" during those times. Any message with those broadcasts in it should be "lost" in the nework. That's the sort of thing that happens when anarchy is the flavour of the day.
Credit their bill for the down time.

LGFers can get live updates of the L3 RNC protest activities via cell phone. Just sign up!

TXTMob was first developed for
protestors at the Democratic National Convention in Boston and the Republican National Convention in New York.

See: [Link: www.txtmob.com...]

XTMob is a free service that lets you quickly and easily share txt messages with
friends, comrades, and total strangers. The format is similar to an email b-board
system. You can sign up to send and receive messages from various groups, which
are organized around a range of different topics. TXTMob was first developed for
protestors at the Democratic National Convention in Boston and the Republican
National Convention in New York. It is, however, free to use for whatever purpose
you see fit. Follow the "Login" links to begin.

That's all there is to it.

Note to self:
Hmmm, now that would be a list worth seeing.

I wonder if they take credit cards in the anarchist bookstore...

92 Right Brain  Fri, Aug 27, 2004 7:41:10pm

The only thing that will be massive in NYC are the number of police and soldiers intent on keeping the moonbats away from Madison Square Garden, aka RNC convention center. I live nearby and the convention area has gone through a remarkable transformation. All streets and sidewalks nearby have concrete ram barricades meaning single file walking on the sidewalk and no possibility of driving. The few drivable entrances to the center have new curb to curb pop-up street barricades that are triggered by God-knows-what. There are several hundred brand new motorcycles in evidence, mid-size Hondas, I think, and the cops have been practicing their swarming technique the last couple of days on their new rides. These things are extra quiet, almost electric, so you do not hear them coming until you are surrounded by a sea of blue. I can not over-state the numbers of cops that are in this area, ten thousand even today at least, close to the center, more of them than civilians. There are 90,000 uniformed police officers in NYC and fully half will be near the convention, I've said it before and will say it again, come visit NYC and yell at the government, we sure do, but if you get extracurricular you will be woefully out of your depth, these cops and soldiers will drop you in a downtown minute. Don't think this is Seattle and don't think this is Montreal, especially do not think you will get away, you will be herded by thousands of cops onto a sidestreet and right into a paddy wagon all according to plan. Until you’ve seen this happen, and I’ve seen it twice, you cannot imagine it. The only difference between this and Grant Park in ’68 is the cops will not be covering their badges, more likely they will pose with your carcass.

93 Stop Hillary  Fri, Aug 27, 2004 7:56:02pm

#92 Right Brain,

Hope you are correct, but I think that the deal here is that a lot of the bad actors intend to create their mayhem away from the Convention site. Pick a place, the WTC (where they've been practicing that mobbing up thing with cell phones now for weeks), Cenral Park, Grand Central, Times Square or even tonight, at some nondescript place with the bicycles. Assholes were I hear were also tying up the Brooklyn Bridge and they have no right to do that. Hell, why NYers aren't just chasing them off I do not understand. Want to violate others' rights you silly-ass parents? OK, take your chances and if it get ugly, be prepared to leave your kids as orphans as far as I'm concerned. You have no rights that anyone is bound to respect when you seize public property and violate the rights of others who have the legitimate right to their proper use.

Uh, coming from the GTA, it is Queenston-Lewiston! I seriously hope that wherever they attempt the crossing, they are stopped. BTW, 2 of our sons went to UB, and they called it Queenston-Lewiston.

Good luck going into NYC...we are in Mamaroneck, but have a kid in Queens, another 1 in Brooklyn, then LI and NJ. I will not rest til after the election...in 67 days. I assume that you cannot telecommute.

The irony...2 weeks from today will be the third anniversary of 9/11. To have an invasion of anarchists and to see both NYPD, NY State Troopers and the Reserves taking their lives in their hands???

#88 Papijoe

We are going to LI during the week, to take care of the 4-year old. Thank G-d my son works there, and my daughter in law is telecommuting, which is not easy when a 4 year old wants to play! We will take her to a mall!

However, I would also babysit in Worcester... :) I am on to you, kiddo...you are looking for chicken soup and kugel!

#74, Mr E Train,

What happens after Bush wins is why I'm stocking up on stuff like this from here before it happens. And if nothing happens (Please let nothing happen!), I've got ammo for target practice to last me the rest of my natural life. Or at least for the next 5 years or so, anyhow. I think this says it better than I could.

And further, use the muslims to get `rid` of Jaggi. Distribute this to the mosques in the area (what his guru did in mecca):

GURU NANAK AT MECCA:

He disguised himself in the blue dress of a Mohammadan pilgrim, took a faqir's staff in his hand and a collection of his hymns called 'Pothi' under his arm. He also carried with him like a Muslim devotee, a cup for his ablutions and a rug whereon to pray. Like a pilgrim he went inside the great mosque where the pilgrims were engaged in their devotions. When he lay down to sleep at night, he turned his feet towards the Kaaba. A priest, Jiwan kicked him and said,"Who is this infidel sleeping with his feet towards the House of God?" The Guru replied,"Turn my feet in the direction in which God is not." Upon this Jiwan seized the Guru's feet and dragged them in the opposite direction. Whereupon, it is said, the Kaaba (temple) turned around, and followed the revolution of Guru's body. Some say that when the Guru asked the priest to turn his feet in the direction where God was not, the priest came to realization that God was everywhere. But those who witnessed this miracle were astonished and saluted the Guru as a supernatural being. [Link: allaboutsikhs.com...]

Busy night for the slow learners, from NYC press this morning after thousands of bicyclists converged on the convention center:

"They just all came to a stop," said Reggie Lakew, 28, who saw the cyclists as they approached E. 10th St. "Everyone picked up their bikes over their heads and started cheering. Some sat down in the street. The cops surrounded them in a line and they were picking them off from the back and arresting them."

“One SUV took matters into its own hands when it mowed down a rider after being stuck in traffic ... crushing two bicycles before fleeing the scene, cops and witnesses said... the SUV's plate number identified as being registered to Ill Na Na Entertainment — a record label that represents rapper Foxy Brown.”

(don't mind dog, beware of owner, ed.)

"They're trying to set the tone for the next week," suggested Annette Wilcox, 47, as she watched the protesters being hauled off. "If you sneeze the wrong way, they're going to arrest you."

264 riders arrested, a flatbed truck was standing by onto which they dumped the bicycles, arrestees were bussed to Pier 57 for processing. Consider them out of the action until Friday.
