Palestinian Authority Terror Links

Tue, Sep 28, 2004 at 8:12:02 pm PDT

As the intifada crumbles, so does the fiction that the Palestinian Authority represents any sort of legitimate government: PA terror links uncovered.

Further evidence emerged Monday of the direct link between the armed wing of Fatah, Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, and the Palestinian Authority.

Obituary notices distributed in the West Bank town of Salfit by Fatah and the PA’s General Intelligence Force revealed that the local commander of the Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, who was killed on Sunday when his M-16 rifle exploded, had doubled as a security officer.

Jihad Hassan, who is also known as Abu Naaim, was the commander of the Aqsa Martyrs Brigades in Salfit and has been wanted by Israel for the past two years.

Residents said Hassan purchased two days ago from an arms dealer an M-16 rifle that had been apparently booby-trapped by Israel’s Shin Bet. They said the rifle exploded on Sunday while Hassan was carrying it, amputating his right arm.

Hassan was rushed unconscious to a hospital in Ramallah, where he was pronounced dead on arrival. Doctors said he had lost a lot of blood before arriving at the hospital.

An obituary notice published by the General Intelligence Force, headed by Gen. Tawfik Tirawi, revealed that the Aqsa Martyrs Brigades commander also served in the force with the rank of lieutenant.

“The command of the Palestinian General Intelligence Force and all its officers and soldiers mourn the death of martyr and hero lieutenant Jihad Hassan, who was martyred on the soil of Salfit on September 26, 2004 while carrying out his duties,” said the obituary statement.

Two other obituaries distributed in Salfit by Fatah groups also pointed out that Hassan was an officer serving in the General Intelligence Force. In one of them, published by Fatah’s shabiba organization in Salfit, Hassan is referred to as “one of the leaders of the Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, a member of the General Intelligence Force in Salfit, and a member of the organizational committee of Fatah in Salfit.”

Israeli Army Kills Gunman in Gaza Raid-Medics

By Nidal al-Mughrabi (who else?)

Israeli soldiers shot dead a Palestinian gunman and wounded three early on Wednesday in a raid on militant strongholds in the northern Gaza Strip, Palestinian medics and witnesses said.

The gunbattle erupted hours after Israel massed ground troops backed by helicopters and 100 armored vehicles in its latest raid aimed at quelling mounting rocket and mortar attacks by militants against Israeli towns and settlements.

Israeli helicopters opened fire on two militant strongholds including Jabalya refugee camp after dark on Tuesday, and sent troops and tanks into the areas of Beit Lahiya and Beit Hanoun, witnesses said.

One gunman of the Hamas militant group was killed and one was wounded in an ensuing exchange of fire at the eastern edges of Jabalya, while two other gunmen were wounded in separate incidents, medics and witnesses said.

They don't bother interviewing Israelis anymore.

What really irks me is when they interview some Arab guy in Tunisia and he talks about this crisis in "Palestine" where Israel kills hundreds of Palestinians each day. A big problem is the propoganda that passes as news over there so that the Arab countries have a totally false view of what is actually happening there. Pretty much the only Palestinians Israel is killing these days are terrorists--and there's nothing wrong with that.

The Art Of Losing Friends

By Charles Krauthammer

Friday, September 24, 2004; Page A25 (Washington Post)

Of all our allies in the world, which is the only one to have joined the
United States in the foxhole in every war in the past 100 years? Not
Britain, not Canada, certainly not France. The answer is Australia.

Australia does not share only a community of values with the United
States. It understands that its safety rests ultimately on a stable
international structure that, in turn, rests not on parchment treaties
but on the power and credibility of the United States. Which is why
Australia is with us today in both Afghanistan and Iraq.

Irony: Arafat "Asserts Freedom of Journalism" and his men kidnap newsman
IMRA - 28 September 2004: Israel Radio reports that Riad Ali, the Israeli
Arab CNN producer who was kidnapped yesterday in the Gaza Strip and released
this afternoon told reporters that his kidnappers were from Yasser Arafats'
Fatah al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades. On the very same that Arafat's men
kidnapped Ali, an official website of the Palestinian Authority featured the
item (below in full) "President Arafat Asserts Freedom of Journalism".

Ali's father called Arafat this afternoon to thank him for helping release
his son.

It was not originally thought that Arafat's men were involved and that the
kidnappers were from Hamas.

"I read that you have not yet formulated the final wording of your letter," Matar wrote to Bassi, "and therefore I am volunteering to 'help' you formulate it. I am enclosing a document that is chillingly similar to the one you plan to send - and all you have to do is to change the date (from 1942 to 2004) and the place (from Berlin to Gush Katif), and behold, your letter will be ready."

"The [Judenrat] letter concludes," Matar writes, "with a moving call to the Jewish leaders in Berlin to behave calmly and to thus make the expulsion easier." She then quotes from it: "We strongly request that you follow the instructions and carry out all of the preparations for the transport in a calm manner. Our community members must be aware that they can contribute greatly to the implementation of part of the transport by their personal behavior and organized adherence to all the instructions. It goes without saying that we will do everything we can, to the extent permitted us, to stand by our community members and aid them in any way possible."

No telling if Shin Bet had anything to do with the rifle that killed the murderer, but "bobby-trapped" weapons are floating around all over the place. I'd say he actually picked up one that came out of Iraq...

Some of the folks where I work teach or demonstrate firearms from around the world. Recently, the honcho in charge of the range was recognized by the Service for finding and disabling booby trapped rifles that had been brought back from OIF/OEF. It turned out that he uses an unorthodox, but exacting method of examining weaponry before he allows it to be fired on his range, which is why he found the booby traps. I understand they might not have been found using existing standard procedures. His procedures have been promulgated as appropriate.

From Arutz Sheva - Israel National Radio - taken off the airwaves, arrested, and labeled "inceiter" but still kicking

On the occasion of four years since the start of the current war - known alternately as the Oslo War, the Road Map War, or merely the second intifada - the General Security Service released a special statistical report summing up these four tragic years. Some of the numbers:

* 1,017 dead, including 703 Israeli and foreign citizens, and 314 soldiers and policemen. The worst year was 2002, when 452 were murdered. The numbers started dropping following Operation Defensive Shield, which was launched in April 2002 following a wave of terrorist massacres.

* 5,598 were wounded to various degrees.

* 98 arms-smuggling tunnels discovered and destroyed between Egypt and Gaza.

* Estimated amounts of arms and explosives smuggled in via the above and other tunnels: 2,000 kilograms of explosives, 6,700 Kalachnikov rifles, 750 anti-tank shell launchers, 33 mortars, 18 submachine guns, 5 anti-aircraft missiles, 580,000 bullets, dozens of RPG bombs.

* 138 suicide bombing attacks, including 60 in 2002 and "only" 14 in 2004 as of today.

* 13,370 shooting attacks.

* 460 Kassam rocket attacks. Gush Katif sources say that the total number of Kassams and shelling attacks on their communities is about ten times that amount.

* 173 Arabs with Israeli ID cards, including 150 from eastern Jerusalem, were arrested for involvement in terror attacks.

* 8 female suicide terrorists, and another 45 were arrested before they could blow themselves up.

* 292 children involved in perpetrating terror attacks.

* 191 terrorists killed in targeted killings, and another 768 terrorists killed in battle or otherwise.

* Over 37 million shekels designated for terrorism confiscated by Israel.

Pal videos fake Israeli shootings

The Palestinian Authority (PA) continues to use music videos as a tool to promote hatred and violence among Palestinian children. In recent months, according to Palestinian Media Watch, PA TV has increased the frequency of hate broadcasting aimed at children.

One example of this escalation is the repeated broadcast this month of a 30-second music video depicting Israeli soldiers as cold-blooded murderers.

In this fictitious scene, children are seen playing soccer while actors portraying Israeli soldiers wearing yarmulkes (skullcaps) watch them from the side. One of the soldiers approaches the children and, after attempting to steal his ball, hits the child. The other children turn against the soldier and chase him away. He then grabs his automatic rifle, after which another scene is spliced in, showing a solider taking aim and firing.

-snip-

Short musical film-clips for children teaching them to see violence and Shahada -- Death for Allah -- as ideal values that are expected of them, have been broadcast daily on PATV, often for several hours a day.

All together now: What nice people. Let's give them a state!

During the Algerian-French war, a French commander had a soldier confess that he had been giving Arms in exchange for sex with a hooker in town.

Instead of punishing the soldier, the Commander gave him a box of grenades and instructed the soldier to visit the hooker again.

For several days later there were reports of grenades exploding instantly in the hands of badguys.

November surprise?

Israel would not be able to destroy Iran's nuclear installations with a single air strike as it did in Iraq in 1981 because they are scattered or hidden and intelligence is weak, Israeli and foreign analysts say.
-snip-
In February, Israel received the first of 102 American-built F-16I warplanes, the largest weapons deal in its history. Military sources say the planes were specially designed with extra fuel tanks to allow them to reach Iran.

In June, it signed a $319 million deal to acquire nearly 5,000 U.S.-made smart bombs, including 500 "bunker busters" that can destroy six-foot concrete walls, such as those that might be found in Iranian nuclear facilities.

Military and strategic analysts in Israel and abroad say even with the new weaponry, Israel lacks the ability to carry out a successful strike against Iran's nuclear installations.

Other difficulties in attacking Iran's nuclear facilities include their dispersal throughout the country, their sophisticated defense systems and the likelihood that some of the installations have been replicated, said Cliff Kupchan, vice president of the Nixon Center in Washington, a former Clinton administration Iranian expert who met with Iranian officials during a visit there last year.

Iran's nukes may go active as early as November, the Israelis say.

Begin and his ministers hoped all the time that clandestine secret-service methods would prevent the resort to force. To believe Claire, this was one of Mossad's finest operations. Agents were apparently able to report accurately developments on the site at al-Tuwaitha. Other agents delayed the project by sabotaging finished cores about to be shipped out of France to Iraq. One Iraqi scientist was suborned without his knowledge, and another was found in Paris with his throat slit after a night with a prostitute.

Earlier, troops shot dead Saleh Bilalu, a 47-year-old mentally ill man, after he violated a army curfew in Jenin.

I must say it's remarkable how the Israelis always seem to know which Palestinians are retarded.

"Meanwhile, Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat's chief advisor, Nabil Abu Rudeina, said the anniversary of the intifada was an occasion for a renewed effort for a negotiated solution.

"The only way to bring peace is through a ceasefire, an end to assassinations and a return to the negotiating table," he said.

"The Palestinian people is holding out for its rights and the establishment of an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital. That is the only way to reach peace, security and stability in the region."

Then I guess there will never be peace.

The intifada was sparked when Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, then leader of the opposition, made a controversial visit to Jerusalem's Al-Aqsa mosque compound, Islam's third holiest site.

Jerusalem Post has a little more about the idiots who wrote the graffiti on Yom Kippur here. They turned themselves in to the police and were released to house arrest pending trial. "Humanities students" at HUJ, no surprise there. Stupid kids, undoubtedly from rich families. If it turns out that they vandalized the synagogue then I'm sure that they'll be punished severely.

71 AW  Wed, Sep 29, 2004 1:02:28am
Kamer then confessed to the vandalism, and reported the second suspect, Shem-Tov, who, accompanied by a lawyer, turned himself in to police Tuesday evening.

The leftie coward snitched on his friend. You have to admire the efficiency of the Israeli police.

Breaking News

Passenger attacks pilots with axe

Two pilots have landed a plane safely in Norway after being attacked by a passenger with an axe.

One passenger was also attacked. A police spokesman said the assailant used an emergency axe kept on board.

The small plane was coming in to land in the northern town of Bodoe when the man, described as of north African origin, launched his attack.

He was arrested on landing. The injured were taken to hospital. Their wounds are not though to be life-threatening.

I am so sick of seeing "also known as". How many F-ckin names do these people have? As it is there official names take five minutes to read and basically sound like an infant babbling, gaa gaa goo boo boo baa baa. Whatever.

"Palestinian Authority" is an oxymoron. What authority? Seems like it's every man for himself there with Hamas organized into a gang of bully-boys ready to cow the population (like Saddam's Tikrit clan did) into submission. Feh!

basically sound like an infant babbling, gaa gaa goo boo boo baa baa.

Here's a Spanish joke.

(Remember that the "J" is pronounced "Ch", like clearing your throat, as in "chutzpah". It's funny because not only does it sound like Arabic if you say it in Spanish, but it makes sense too.)

Q: ¿Como se dice "aparcar" in Arabe?
A: Ata la pata de la jaca a la reja.

Translation:

Q: How do you say "park" (as in "park the car") in Arabic?
A: Tie the leg of the donkey to the railing.

This is a very good historical account of the depravities of Islamic conquests in Eastern Europe. Above all it is about Islamic Jihad. Lots of references as well.

How is he annoying you? I hate the "first" posts as well.

Ohhh! I completely misread Crill's post. I thought it referred to some timeline in LGF, e.g., "The first phase of LGF, from Aug 2002 to Mar 2004". That "first" post thing has been in my scrollover territory for so long, that none of the appropriate synapses in my obviously feeble brain were fired.

Crill, sincerest apologies.

Anyone hear the Silky Pony, John Edwards on IMUS this morning?

Stumbling, bumbling around with even the most basic questions.

I saw the Breck Boy on Tim Russert some months ago do he was totally confused, Russert handed Edwards his head.

Lawyers are very much scripted. Everything they do in court is by the numbers, rehearsed, nothing ever outside of the box (my wife's a lawyer--yikes).

Chaney is going to destroy the Silky Pony.

I may be giving my age away here, but this reminds me of something out of the old Johnson Smith Catalog. See? On page 285, down among the handshake buzzers and the whoopie cushions:

Exploding M-16

Amazing new product! Surprise your friends with this realistic exploding rifle!

Sold strictly for novelty and entertainment purposes only.

alkmyst (#68)

which part of that last quote were you refering to lying scum?

Was it:

1) "The" intifada - ignoring the one in the 90's or the one in Hevron in the 20's, or...

2) Sharon's visit was just the excuse arafart had been waiting for, with his cronies already prepared and in place to open fire?

3) The location is called "al aqsa mosque compound" instead of "Har Habayit" (The Temple Mount) Lit: Mount of the House (Of G-d)

4) The location is islam's 3rd holiest site?

You broke it down so well. All of the above. The entire sentence

The intifada was sparked when Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, then leader of the opposition, made a controversial visit to Jerusalem's Al-Aqsa mosque compound, Islam's third holiest site.

is a work of fiction. I hate the media.

and how much will that new business cost the taxpayers? Money that could be going to constructing and fixing schools.

it looks like entertainment is more important than children's education and our nation's future.

Pilgrim # 77:

Philistines will be Philistines

I know you were just being snarky, but do not ever even give credence to this Arab claim that the so-called Palestinians have any connection to the biblical Philistines.

Arabs came from Arabia, period. They are not decendents of the Canaanites, Philistines, Midianites, Ancient Egyptians or any other of the biblican nations inhabiting the land of Zion from time to time.

The Arabs have tried to rewrite history, let's not even give them any ammunition.

87 Ermus  Wed, Sep 29, 2004 6:20:36am

My favorite oxymoron: Palestinian leadership.

Right. It's far more accurate to say:
Ishmael will be Ishmael

89 Renna  Wed, Sep 29, 2004 6:46:41am

I have it on good authority the Philistines were actually small green peas with French accents. Okay, one guy was a pickle.

If there's ever an obscene noise to be made on an instrument, it's gonna come out of a guitar! On a sax you can play sleaze, on a bass you can play balls. But on a guitar you can be truly obscene! Lets be realistic about this, the guitar can be the single most blasphemous device on earth! The guitar makes a stink noise. That's why I like it!!
