CAIR, WAMY Announce $50M Propaganda Effort

Wed, Jun 21, 2006 at 10:48:30 am PDT

The Arab News reports on a press conference in Saudi Arabia at the headquarters of the World Assembly of Muslim Youth (WAMY), founded by the nephew of Osama bin Laden in the US, and under investigation since 1999 for links to terrorist groups including Hamas.

Attending this meeting were antisemitic ex-Congressman Paul Findley, and top representatives of the Council on American Islamic Relations—who announced they are launching a $50 million da’wa effort in the United States, with the eager assistance of US media: Media Campaign in US to Dispel Islamophobia.

RIYADH, 21 June 2006 — A survey conducted by Cornell University recently found that around half of Americans have a negative view of Islam and would like the US government to curtail the political activity of Muslims in the US.

Addressing a press conference at the headquarters of the World Assembly of Muslim Youth (WAMY), Paul Findley, a former US Congressman, said that the cancer of anti-Muslim and anti-Islamic sentiments was spreading in American society and requires corrective measures to stamp out this malaise.

It was also announced that the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) would be launching a massive $50 million media campaign involving television, radio and newspapers as part of its five-year program to create a better understanding of Islam and Muslims in the US.

Referring to the anti-Islamic sentiments in the US, Findley said that the campaign was being spearheaded by a tiny but influential section of society, including some politicians, academics and opinion-makers. Findley commended CAIR’s initiative that he said could go a long way toward improving the image of Islam and Muslims, which has been badly dented in part due to the events of Sept. 11, 2001.

Speaking on his interaction with the US media, Ibrahim Hooper, spokesman for CAIR, said that his own feeling was that American journalists are receptive to issues affecting Muslims. For this reason, nearly all American newspapers, print or online, refrained from reproducing the caricature of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) that were at the center of a controversy earlier this year. He said CAIR took advantage of the issue by distributing DVDs free of charge, bringing out a book on the Prophet, and launching an awareness campaign.

“All of this had a positive impact,” said Hooper.

Parvez Ahmed, CAIR chairman, spoke on what he described as the most “vicious attacks on Islam” he has ever seen in recent years, adding that the campaign is being orchestrated by a minority fringe element in the US seeking to drive a xenophobic wedge between Muslims and non-Muslims.

Speaking of WAMY, here’s a flash from the past that’s quite relevant in light of the Toronto terror arrests. In September 2003, we noted a report that WAMY was operating jihad camps in Ontario:

In an affidavit filed in U.S. District Court in Virginia, David Kane, a senior special agent with the Department of Homeland Security, quoted provocative sections of books published by WAMY. One of the books said, “Teach our children to love taking revenge on the Jews and the oppressors, and teach them that our youngsters will liberate Palestine and al-Quds [Jerusalem] when they go back to Islam and make jihad for the sake of Allah.”

Special Agent Kane said another book compiled and published by WAMY listed “Heroes of Palestine” who had been killed in attacks against Israelis, including a terrorist who hijacked a bus and drove it off a cliff, killing 14.

“The Jews are the enemies of the faithful, God and the angels,” Special Agent Kane quoted another WAMY book, entitled A Handy Encyclopedia of Contemporary Religions and Sects, as saying. “The Jews are humanity’s enemies; they foment immorality in this world; The Jews are deceitful, they say something but mean the exact opposite.”

WAMY Canada runs a series of Islamic camps and pilgrimages for youth.

A spokesman for WAMY Canada was not available for comment yesterday.

Special Agent Kane quoted from a publication prepared by the Camps and Conferences Unit of WAMY that said: “Hail! Hail! O Sacrificing Soldiers! To Us! To Us! So we may defend the flag on this Day of Jihad, are you miserly with your blood?! And has life become dearer to you? And staying behind sweeter?”

The special agent said 14- to 18-year-olds are the target audience for these teachings.

Marines, Sailor to Be Charged With Murder

WASHINGTON — The Marine Corps on Wednesday planned to charge seven Marines and one sailor with murder in connection with the April death of an Iraqi civilian, a defense official said.

At Camp Pendleton, Calif., where the eight accused service members have been held in a military brig since late May, officials announced that a news conference would be held later Wednesday concerning the alleged killing of the Iraqi in the village of Hamdania. The announcement did not mention murder or other charges.

The official who disclosed the Marine plans asked not to be identified publicly because the official announcement was still pending.

CAIR can lay all the bullshit they want on us, but it won't overcome what Americans know about the RoP. The savagery, the honor killings, the Jew-hatred, the terrorism...

The more money they throw down that rat hole, the lower the opinion of Americans toward them will be.

Backward-ass, inbred f*cks.

Meet and greet your local WAMY representatives this Friday after the noon prayer at the Muslim Student Association Mosque at a campus near you. These outposts of Islam allow these "students" to observe you, don't you think that it is about time that you observe them. Since your tax dollars are helping to subsidize their "education" you should take an interest in their activities. It may be in your own best interest to learn more about their plans for you.

Isn't this putting the cart before the horse? How about the Muslims put forth some effort to stamp out their radicals, jihadi's, and extremists? The rest will take care of itself.

We aren't suspect of Muslims/Islam because we are dumb or uninformed. All you have to do is open your eyes and see what happens when Islam becomes the rule of law. Precisely because we are informed (and more are becoming informed) we are suspect of Islam.

Where's the thread discussing the MSM's shameful coverage (or lack thereof) regarding the Haditha "incident"?

Jihadis are dangerous, and a threat (though you wouldn't always know that if you listen to Dick Durbin). However, I think that they are a secondary threat compared to the very real threat we face within our society, and within our country: the threat posed by the "left" (can't we come up with a better word (not vulgar) that describes these socialist anti-american, anti-capitalist, anti-liberty elite anti-war types?) THIS is the real threat and until we face it, we will have a hard time defeating jihadism, the NoRKs (pay no attention to the Mao man behind the curtain pulling the NoRKs' strings), and anyone else who decides to present a military threat.

The "left" wants to negotiate. You cannot negotiate with madmen and terrorists.

And the press continues to deny being biased....

They can spend billions to improve their image, yet as long as Americans see muslims hacking people to bits, dragging them through streets, blowing up their fellow muslims, killing apostates, killing women all the while whining and filing law suits because they feel maligned, it won't work.

Among the many failings of muslims is that they do not possess much common sense. (The palis specifically come to mind)

Most Americans possess more than their fair share of common sense, and despite what appears to be openness and naivite, we also have some 'street smarts'.

This will prove to be an utter failure, but it will be fun to watch CAIR, et.al. waste money.

EUroweenie #1: So, Mr. Bush, are you concerned about N. Korea's long range missiles?

EUroweenie #2 [gleefully]: Yes, looks like they may soon be able to nuke L.A.

EUroweenie #1 [interrupting]: Which system? We didn't-

POTUS: -As I was sayin', developed with the help of our good friend and allies, Israel. We have an operational missile defense system, see. We aren't too concerned about the NorKs, frankly.

[some silence]

EUroweenie #2: Oh...

POTUS: So how 'bout them Iranians, eh? Them there Shihabs can target just about any capital in South-eastern Europe by now, right?

EUroweenie #1[visibly uncomfortable]: Well, er, we believe that our diplomatic efforts-

POTUS [interrupting]: Right, and you have missile defense too, right? I'm sure you wouldn't be such a buncha dumbass pantywastes that you'd spend all your wealth on handouts to immigrants and loafers but forget to invest in defense, right?

[silence]

POTUS: Right?

POTUS: Wassamatter wiffya? Cat got yer tongue?

EUroweenies [in unisom]: WAAAAAAAA! Pleeeeeeeeez! Help us, again! Pleeeeeeeeez, Mr. Bush, help our sorry weenie asses, we are so scared-

[EUroweenies sobbing, weeping openly]

-We can't even control our own "suburbs", boooo-hooo

POTUS: Tellya what, how bout some groveling now? How bout you lick this cowboy's boots, you pansies! Dry your eyes now, we have a press conference in 10 minutes. Here's what you need to say...

Well, by its very nature, Islam's appeal to non-Muslims is limited to those with some deep seated issues.

They'll do ok recruiting the Black Panthers, Weather Underground and Charlie Manson's of the day, but the appeal won't extend to much further.

The people who don't feel the Animal Liberation Front is 'pure' enough in its militancy.

As a man, I can see how Islam might appeal, with its view that woman are less than human, just sexual playthings and breeders of children, fancy '68 Camaros that have to be covered up so that other men don't try to steal them, but I can't for the life of me understand the occasional blue eyes I see looking out of the burlap sacks at the local Kroger. The CAIR-U.A.E. Connection

The United Arab Emirates recently announced on its official government website that it has set up an endowment serving as a source of income for CAIR. The amount of the funding is undisclosed, but sources say it will be enough to help CAIR finance the construction of a new $24 million office building and a planned $50 million public-relations campaign aimed at repairing Islam's -- and the UAE's -- image in America

This money originated from the same government that wanted control of our ports.

Following up to my post, here's my point (I've taken a few deep breaths and indulged in some nicotine poisoning):

No one would care what CAIR says if we (the society) were willing to judge based on the facts. No one would care what Al-Jazeera says. No one would care what Kos says. What drives me crazy is that there appears to be an entire political party that not only listens to these ... people, but BELIEVES them, and forms their actions accordingly! Furthermore there is an active propaganda campaign in progress to coerce all of us to toe the line.

I hope that makes sense. I'm still not expressing myself well, and luckily we have people like Fjordman who have made the point more effectively than I can.

'No preconditions' for Iran nuclear talks: OIC

LONDON, June 21 (IranMania) - Negotiations over Iran's controversial nuclear programme should resume "without any preconditions," the 57-member Organisation of the Islamic Conference (OIC) said in a declaration adopted in Baku on Wednesday, AFP reported.

"We express our conviction that the only way to resolve Iran's nuclear issue is to resume negotiations without any preconditions," OIC members said in a document called the Baku Declaration.

They also called for the establishment of a nuclear weapons free zone in the Middle East and for the "prompt placement" of Israel under the control of the UN's International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

"We demand Israel's accession to the NPT (nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty) without delay and prompt placement of all its nuclear facilities under IAEA comprehensive safeguard systems," it said.

If we write letters to the editors of the MSM outlets that run Islamic propaganda advertising, will they be published?

Throw in some NRA statistics on gun ownership for good measure.

Guns:

The number of privately owned guns in the U.S. is at an all-time high. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE) estimates that there were about 215 million guns in 1999, when the number of new guns was averaging about 4.5 million (about 2%) annually. A report for the National Academy of Sciences put the 1999 figure at 258 million. According to the Bureau of Justice Statistics, there were 60. million approved (new and used) NICS firearm transactions between 1994 2004.4 The number of NICS checks for firearm purchases or permits increased 3.2% between 2003-2004.

Gun Owners.

The number of gun owners is also at an all-time high. The U.S. population is at an all-time high (294 million), and rises about 1% annually. Numerous surveys over the last 40+ years have found that almost half of all households have at least one gun owner. Some surveys since the late 1990s have indicated a smaller incidence of gun ownership, probably because of some respondents` concerns about "gun control," residually due, perhaps, to the anti-gun policies of the Clinton Administration.

Right-to-Carry.

The number of RTC states is at an all-time high, up from 10 in 1987 to 38 today. In 2004, states with RTC laws, compared to other states, had lower violent crime rates on average. Total violent crime was lower by 21%, murder by 28%, robbery by 43%, and aggravated assault by 13%.9

Then add in some stuff about itchy trigger fingers.

From your cited article:

"As commandant I am gravely concerned about the serious allegations concerning actions of some Marines at Haditha and Hamdania," Hagee told a Pentagon news conference June 7. "I can assure you that the Marine Corps takes them seriously."

"As commandant I am the one accountable for organization, training and equipping of Marines," he added. "I am responsible and I take these responsibilities quite seriously."

Hey, Marine commandant, do you also take seriously a responsibility to DEFEND your Marines from the malicious media persecution that is now ongoing?

So what is going to stop this campaign?
The Feds won't / can't.
Our MSM certainly won't, they're complicit.
Our 'leaders' won't, PC is so deeply ingrained they'll be running for the hills at the first cry of 'rascists!'

Declaring CAIR a jihadist front org would be a start, but again our Fed law enforcement is uneven as hell, our judiciary sorely compromised.

Academia? LMAO

Who is left to stop the individuals that form the CAIR?

You're right on all counts. I don't think people are aware of how deeply bought-in the USG is to diversity-uber-alles and how no religion could be bad. The Marine Corps caving in to CAIR did startle some people to begin to take notice, though. The MSM is unable to do it, academia is, as you say, a joke.

The only possible answer to your question is: us.

Me. You. Us. All of us here. We all need to speak, loudly and often.

Oh, it's dangerous as hell. It's very easy to be thought of as a crank or a nutjob when you begin to tell people how dangerous muslims are. But if you get the evidence in front of people, they are not stupid.

So long as we have free speech we have a chance. If the government's PC culture ever gets the force of law in the form of "human rights" or "hate speech" legislation, we are toast.

Talk. Read. Talk, then read some more. Give Bawer's book to your liberal friends, and other books to your conservative friends. Go to public meetings where Muslim affairs are brought up (beleive me, they know how to game the system..almost everywhere their Mosques and "Islamic Centers" are beign built in part with public money.

In the end, I think they will unmask themselves sufficiently to wake enough people up.

It is not unforeseeable to think at some point, though, free men and women will have to fight.

See, now I sound like a crank. But I do believe what I wrote is true nonetheless.

CAIR has several years of case studies from some of the best spinners in the world like Jesse Jackson to model their campaign on. Just like Ann Coulter puts forth in her book they will no doubt imbue some folks with "absolete moral authority" and hide behind them for cover. Islamic fanatics are very good at hiding behind women and children they have done it their entire life. If the heat gets too much place the race card, even though they claim Islam is a religion. If they start playing the race card they need to be called on it. Make them admit that the only good Muslim then is somebody of Middle Eastern descent and if that is true then how can any other people in the world embrace Islam since from the begining you are saying it is race based.
But in any respect folks need to be aware that a big propaganda machine is getting cranked and to not buy what they are selling.

Yeah, let's put ads like this on Nickelodean and the cartoon channel. This will win the hearts and minds of these kid's parents. I sure would want to send my kids to Kamp WAMY for their re-education if they were young enough.

How will CAIR's campaign not be met with H U G E resistance from an organization like, say, N.O.W. (National Organization of Woman)?

Frankly, N.O.W doesn't seem to give a rat's ass. Perhaps I shouldn't say much because I'm not a member, but I haven't heard much screaming or outrage on their behalf.

For years (decades) they beat up on American men. To my mind it's a bit like the Europeans spitting on the USA, i.e. they know there will be no retribution. It's easy to fight against an unwilling 'enemy'.

The feminist movement did some good things, many of which were necessary. Like many movements they went over-the-top and became rather like the aged, neighborhood drunk screaming at young children for stepping on the grass ....JK;)

My personal opinion is that because of the feminist movement, it will be difficult for muslims to assert their values, and specifically sharia law, into our society.

On a more personal level I wish is that I were younger, more physically capable and able to join Special Ops in order to have the opportunity to personnally kill some of these bastards. Women of my age do not lightly regard our status.

The Global Range of Iran's Ballistic Missile Program The Iranians know they cannot win a war against the United States. Their stated policy is to deter the U.S. and its allies by threatening a war that will cause such damage at such a price that this option will become unacceptable. With this perspective, they are investing very smartly in deterrence enhancers and force multipliers instead of replacing obsolete equipment. [Link: www.jihadwatch.org...]

CAIR AND WAMY should save their money. The so-called "positive outcome" in favor of Islam in which the images of Mohammed were not published came about, not because Westerners think well of Islam and don't want to hurt their feelings; rather Westerners believe that Muslims will seek them out, blow them up, kill their families, or maim and mutilate, all in the name of Allah and Islam.

Islamophobia, "fear of Muslims," used to be a perjorative term; now it reflects the reality of Muslim behavior, for one never knows when a Muslim is going to go off against a non-Muslim or even a Muslim of a different stripe.

Non-Muslims now know of how that Muslims disdain them and openly discriminate against, violate, and harm non-Muslims simply for not being Muslims. The evidence stored in the historical recored and fresh incidents occur each day for everyone to see, transmitted on a daily and, sometimes, an hourly basis. No adversting campaign will erase the effect of their deeds and words.

Guys, I think Paul Findley has actually converted to Islam by now. Antisemites love those who hate the Jews the most and Findley just LOOOOOOOVES Muslims and Arabs. He has a pretty long history with both of them and I think by now that it is safe to assume that he has said the shahada and converted in private.

The other "America firsters" and antisemites don't go to the same lengths as Findley. Buchanan hasn't and although Duke came close, I really doubt he gave converting to Islam any serious thought. I have a hunch that if Findley hasn't already converted, then he's thinking about it.

119 Gadfly  Wed, Jun 21, 2006 5:01:18pm

Well they don't need to spend it in the UK thats for sure, where the mere thought of offending Muslims causes jitters. So its inevitable that St. Georges Cross painted on the English striker Rooney an ad illicits the following from their christian clergy:

'The other aspect of it is the aggression contained in it, bound up with the flag of St George, which you might see as a throwback to the Crusades, which is hardly going to go down well with Muslim countries. It's offensive on several different levels.'

Thank you for your reformatting. Easier on the eyes. But, along with the warnings to people who haven't heard about this, it would be more useful to start some concrete lobbying to stop the spread of Saudi indoctrination. They planted their Wahhabist-staffed mosques all over Africa and are radicalizing the Muslim populations there. They are planting new mosques in the US.
Reminds me of the fairy circles in Roger Zelazny's Nine Princes in Amber series. These black spots would appear, then the plants around them would die and the spots would grow larger and larger until nasty things were able to crawl out of them to begin wrecking the countryside around them.
