40 killed in Mumbai train blasts. (Hat tip: LGF readers.)

MUMBAI, India (CNN) — At least 40 people have been killed in seven explosions on crowded rush-hour commuter trains in the Indian financial capital of Mumbai, police said.

More than 100 people were injured in the blasts, which took place between 6:20 and 7 p.m. (1250 and 1330 GMT) when the trains were packed with commuters making their way home.

A correspondent for CNN’s sister network, CNN-IBN, reported seeing 15 bodies at the Matunga train station.

Video from one station showed people with blood on them being treated, other commuters carrying victims and some people lying motionless near train tracks.

At least one train was split in half by the explosion.

The lefties/libs are in a great position.

If this sort of thing happens here, they will say Bush "didnt" do enough to stop it, or it was b/c of Iraq, or Abu Ghraib, or or or or or

If it DOESNT happen here, then they will say Bush is hyping terrorism for political gain, hes a dictator using scare tactics, etc.

Its a win-win for the KOStards, Pelosis and Deaniacs of the world.

Lord I hate these a-holes

Kos

but let's see if they use their commitment to the GWOT as an excuse to now go all out no-holds barred on Kasmir.

Kind of like Putin did on Chechnya. He started doing some seriously aggressive shit and when people we like "Um.. Vlad, you just wiped out 70 civilians with that latest tank raid." He used the GWOT as a shield and quoted Bush's cowboy-bullshit about "Smokin' em out" and "With us or against us" and "Refusing to allow these threats to exist in our borders" etc etc

This would be an open door for India to do the same thing but hopefully they are above that. You know.. like a real Democracy.

When ROP kills a bunch of people, there is no national debate on how non-Muslims can change their behaviour to make ROP hate them less.

Hindus simply gather in mass armed mobs and administer painful payback.

The West could learn a lot from them.

I used to love those connect-the-dots coloring books. Too bad they weren't in wide distribution.

OT: Yesterday I had Skype open and I got a call from a guy in Morocco named Mohammed, of course, who said he was a 16 year old but sure didn't sound like it. I taqiyya'd him back making up all personal details. He wanted a friend, he wanted help learning English, he wanted to move to England (of course) and then he started on the da'wa. What a good way to lure people into the cult. They're taking a page from the pedophile how-to manual, target kids who don't know any better.

Its hard to take an argument seriously that includes the phrase "When people were like Um, Vlad,"

Would those people be the ones who invaded a school and slaughtered a bunch of children?

It's almost certain that this attrocity was carried out by terrorists who are supported by Pakistan. And of course this won't stop us from providing billions in military aid to the Pakis or giving them F-16s, AMRAAMs, anti-ship missles, DU rounds, etc.

I understand that we can't fight every terrorist-supporting nation at once, but can we at least stop SUPPORTING such nations? If we're such believers in freedom and democracy, can't we at least stop funding the enemies of freedom and democracy, whether they are in Pakistan or in "Palestine"?

Read India Abroad's huge report on the US-India accord. Pakistan is getting nowhere near the support and is being worked with only as far as practicable. Even Mahoman Singh can find some common ground.

Hi Wamumba,

I'm still not sure about my relatives yet - I won't know until later today, but I'm praying nothing happened.

I know that India is getting more support, but what bothers me is that we (the US) seem to think that Pakistan requires far more aid than it really does. If they need our help to fight terror, fine, but I see no evidence that they're serious about it. It's not just Kashmir - the government of Afghanistan has also accused Pakistan of sponsoring the Taliban, even as the Taliban continues to attack Afghan and American forces there. Moreover, even if we were inclined to give Pakistan the weapons it needs to fight terrorists, why on earth do they need anti-ship missiles, air-to-air missles, etc to fight the Taliban?

Your posts show your ignorance.

Yes. Bombay (Mumbai) is the financial center of India. There are almost 13 million people in the city who came from everywhere looking for better life.

India has been facing terrorism for many years from Muslim terrorists. Kashmir is a part of India, just like California is to the U.S. The Muslims drove out the Hindus and there is now a majority of Muslims in that state. The LOC divides the state, almost 40% of Kashmir is already controlled by Pakistan. They want all of it. The Pakistani dictators keep the conflict alive in order to stay in power since they do not have economic success to show.

India has shown extreme restrain against these people. The relations between two countries have been improving lately and there are cricket matches, exchange of celebrities, etc. going on. The terrorists do not want such successes.

Over the last few years we have seen major attacks like Delhi bomb blast, Akshardham attack, Mumbai blasts a few months ago, the attack on a train full of pilgrims in Gujarat and again now, among others. These attacks are ongoing and almost all of them are carried out by the Muslims. They want Hindu retaliation in order to start a conflict.

Hindu religion respects life, just like Christians and Jews. India is a diverse country where all the religions are practiced. Unfortunately the Muslim religion is the only one which believes in killing the infedals.

FYI: The terrorists who hijacked the 9/11 planes used the same methods used in hijacking an Indian Airlines plane from Kathmandu and flew it to Afghanistan in late 90's. The Government of India made consessions and the Taliban let them free. They were harbored in Pakistan (as far as I know, they are still there). That was a practice run for 9/11.

Wake up and learn the facts.

Indian civilians on a train minding their own business, and they get "Allah ackbar'd."

Really simple: If you teach or subscribe to violent bigotry, you're not allowed in the civilized world. Yeah, that's nice, your claims to peace and tolerance, but the very teachings you worship say otherwise. Goodbye. Back to Crapistan you go. No, I'm not going to sort out those who blabber about "peaceful, internal struggle." The highest calling in your life are the Koran and Hadiths? See ya.

Wanna reform your faith? Doesn't sound likely to me, but go for it. But the burden of proof is on you, and you can butcher each other in accordance with the words and deeds of Mohammed until you figure something out. We owe you two things: Jack and Squat. We owe our people the ability to live in and maintain the Enlightenment that our ancestors worked, bled and died to bring about.

For the offended moral preeners who insist it's a show of our strength and greatness to allow the rattlesnake into the crib with the baby, you can pack your bags as well. Or sit down and STFU.

Here are some hard-to-find but very useful and au courant links about the Mumbai train bombings, found in a newspaper in Mumbai itself:

Serial blasts halt Mumbai's Western Railway

Last Updated: July 11, 2006 22:03 IST
Seven blasts rocked suburban trains in Mumbai on Tuesday evening, Police Commissioner A N Roy has said. The police control room has reported that 139 passengers have been killed and more than 300 injured. PTI reports that the blasts took place in a span of 30 minutes in first class compartments of suburban trains.
As the blasts ripped apart train compartments, mangled bodies of passengers were hurled out and survivors, many of them bleeding profusely, jostled to come out, leading to chaotic scenes. ...
Rediff.com's Syed Firdaus Ashraf, who was at Mahim railway station soon after reports of the blast came in, said he could see one train compartment was completely blown up in the explosion, and people were carrying bodies away.
...
The police have cordoned off all railway stations on the Western line and strict frisking and checking was being carried out at the Central and Harbour sections of local train services.
Police suspect that it is a pre-planned subversive plot similar to the explosions that had rocked Mumbai in 1993, 2002 and 2003.

And here's some info on the 1993, 2002 and 2003 blasts -- all of which were carried out by Muslims, as if that even needs to be pointed out:

1993 Bombings

Previous Mumbai Bombings essay

Samra refused to confirm a report by the United News Service of India that the
calamity was caused by a group of Kashmirian Moslem "conspirators", who may
have links to a disgruntled "man of Iranian origin"

Eyewitness accounts

Nobody was accompanying the bodies, which were being carried in an auto rickshaw. One body fell out of the rickshaw on the turning of the Chamunda circle. A few women on the road fainted seeing the condition of the body.

It was really a horrendous scene.

Backgrounder essay

Many locals are angry that the government had done little to save the lives of ordinary people. "We should not give these terrorists bail. They need to be hanged in public," says J Singh, another commuter. "There is no law and order. These were innocent people who had nothing to do with politics, but they lost their lives."

Fox doesn't have any trouble using the "I" word, while CNN (spit) feels compelled to put sneer quotes around the word "terrorist". However, CNN does have a very edifying video where one can "Watch rescuers pull blood-covered victims from wrecked trains."
God help the West in its descent into moral relativism. I'm just waiting to see CNN start using the word "nonpacifist" instead of terrorist, in that good ol ' 1984 doublespeak sort of way.

What does it take for our thickskinned and thickheaded media to actually learn anything. The death toll from this wilful act of mass murder has climed up to at least 131, but out of PC-ness, the media still won't bring itself to admit that the texts of the Koran, Sira and hadith, not to mention the hateful sermons of death and destruction preached in every mosque on the planet is responsible for thousands of atrocities and the deaths of millions of people. Darfur, Indoia, New York, Beslan, Moswcow, London, Madrid, Tel Aviv - all trip off the tongue as a testament to the murderous and barbaric ways of Islam. But still, the Islamists and the airheaded sandal-wearing leftie freaks will try to pin this atrocity in India to Israel, the US, our involvement in Iraq - anything to divert from where the blame really lies.

I don't claim to have my finger on the pulse of the nation, much less the world. But, I do think the common person has a clue. Despite what the media would have us believe, most people (lefties excluded, but I think that they just won't admit it in public) understand that Islamists are behind all of this. This bombing in particular tips their hand. While India has been a target of Islamist hate for a long time, the sad fact is that this bombing has occurred after identical bombings in Western cities, so now people see the pattern. This bombing cannot be blamed on the Iraq war, no matter how Islam and its lefty apologists want to twist it. Hell, even the Dems are starting to get it. All that most of the media are doing is making themselves more irrelevant. And letting Fox get bigger ratings.

This horrific attack should be a wake-up call to India that it is in the path of the desired Islamofascist empire that will become the khilafa.
Look around you, India, and you will see Muslim states nearby. That should be a clue that you are targeted for the conquest that is needed to form the desired califascist empire.

Uh, think that India has been exquisitely aware of the reality on its borders, for a long time.

The truth is Indian liberal elites are in even deeper denial about this than American moonbats. There's a long history of see no evil in Islam, and just as the left in America and Europe hates the right more than it does Islamofascists, the left in India--including the ruling Congress party--hates Hindu nationalists more than it does the terrorists. Add to this the fact that Muslims tend to vote as a bloc and can rely on endless funding, training and, when need be, refuge from the land of the pure (Pakistan) and you know why this problem is not about to fade. The one bright spot is that thanks to the Web, and in no small part to the lizard nation, more and more people are beginning to connect the dots. There was a time when Jews and Russian Christians and Indian Hindus suffered variants of the same threat, but suffered it apart. Now the clearheaded everywhere can see that we're all in the same boat. The same terrorists brainwashed in Pakistani madrassas to attack U.S. and British troops carry out bombings against infidel trains in India. And when a butcher like Shamil Basayev goes down the mourning stretches from Gaza to Grozny to Kabul and Karachi while civilized people everywhere rejoice.

From Gateway Pundit via Hindustan Times:

Update2 13:00 PM CST: A militant was arrested in Delhi with 2.5 kg RDX explosive on his possession:
Police was interrogating him to find out if he has any links with the serial blasts in Srinagar and Mumbai and to find which terrorist outfit he belonged to, he said.
An amount of Rs 49 lakh was also seized from his possession, police said, adding according to their information Hussain was working for one Pakistan-based militant Mukhtar Ahmed.
Hussian, who has been living in Jangpura locality of south Delhi, was arrested when he reached the Lodhi Road area in a car to apparently hand over the cash and explosives to someone.

While doing some research into this attack, I discovered that today is the day of Guru Purnima or Vyasa Purnima in Hindu religion.

It is a lunar holiday/observance dedicated to the importance of gurus.

From what I can gather, i'ts a pretty big day for people who practice Hindu.

What a slap in the face... I'm disgusted.

I hope the world wakes up soon.

damm those jooos! they are forcing those peaceful muslims to explode in india! when will the worldwide zionist oppression end?

81 cybermonk  Tue, Jul 11, 2006 9:57:03am

Just what does it take to be called a terrorist? Has that word been deleted from the languages of the world? If we don't call them terrorists, then there are no terrorists?

This only goes to demonstrate the need for a Palestinian state. If there was one, then Muslims would not have to kill people in India, London, Kashmir, Thailand, the Zionist Entity, the U.S., Russia, France, the Sudan, Somalia, Bali, Australia, Indonesia, the Philippines, [insert name of your country here]...

India was a Hindu country until it was invaded by the Moghuls 500 years ago. Pakistan and Bangladesh were part of india until 1947 when the British divided her.

I'm not making propaganda for Fox. They are barely above a tabloid, IMHO (I loved the peerless journalism demonstrated by Geraldo when he made a little old lady walk through post-Katrina sewage twice to get a good shot). However, they did identify the Islamists as prime suspects in the bombing, right off the bat this morning. All I did was point out that they do have rising ratings, in general, while the more leftist media does not. You are correct about a "few sane voices in a sea of shit."

But, hey, ya gotta start somewhere. What I'd like to see is an intelligent conservative network somewhere. Maybe it's like training a dog- even if they're bad most of the time, give them some positive reinforcement for the occasional good behavior and see if they learn. But, my dog does learn more quickly. And she's an Irish Setter.

I'm sorry to hear that, and my brief trips to London do seem to confirm what you say. Still, sometimes I think that the PC-powers-that-be have intimidated reasonable people everywhere into guarding their speech closely.

We don't want to be singled out, discriminated against, or treated without tolerance by those for whom tolerance is the highest virtue." - David Limbaugh

(Being Catholic, I obviously would disagree with tolerance being the highest virtue). So, in this instance, we are, indeed, singled out.

If only we pull out of Iraq and stop the Zionist genocide of the palestinians, this bombing never would have happened.

I mean Cindy Sheehan said so. I read it on Michael Moore's website...It must be true!

Hey, the word muslim! And look, it's Al Queda. Wow, big surprise there.

Here is a map of the prevailing religion in each country.
[Link: en.wikipedia.org...]

Think of the region that the caliphate will occupy today, and what it would be tomorrow with some more jihad to conquer kafirs.

Today, the caliphate would extend throughout the green region on the map, which extends from the Atlantic Ocean through north Africa, into the Middle East (with the exception of Israel which is a stubborn spot on their map, to the califascists), and up to the boundary of India. That's a lot of turf.

But think about tomorrow, from the point of view of the califascists. First of all, they need to rub out Israel. Obviously. A speck in the caliphate, ruled by the sons of pigs and apes, does not seem consistent with Islamic supremacy. But look beyond and see that Southeast Asia is destined to be part of the Islamofascist caliphate, according to how they can see the map. The obstacles are: India which is Hindu (with a sizable Muslim population), and the Budhist territory (which also has Muslim insurgents there from the jihad results that we see).

So the Islamic Caliphate can extend from the Atlantic Ocean to the Southeast Asia region, except for the Hindu part that is India, and the Budhist territories which are smaller than India.

If we can see the map, so can the Califascists.

Sharku- Hey, I went back to the Fox article from this a.m. and indeed, it has been replaced with a more wordy update that drops the "I" word from the article. Gee, I thought sanity was going to prevail but now I see the PC patrol has been at it again. I thought someone had grown a pair, but nooo...
