When your human shields won’t provide cover voluntarily, what else can you do except prevent them from escaping? IDF: Hizbullah preventing civilians from leaving villages in southern Lebanon. (Hat tip: LGF readers.)

The IDF has found that Hizbullah is preventing civilians from leaving villages in southern Lebanon. Roadblocks have been set up outside some of the villages to prevent residents from leaving, while in other villages Hizbullah is preventing UN representatives from entering, who are trying to help residents leave. In two villages, exchanges of fire between residents and Hizbullah have broken out.

This no. of civilians killed screaming by the arabs is losing traction. The oft repeated condemnation of Israel killing civilians is not working as well this time round.

The Iraqi terrorists also forced the civilians to be their shields.

With no potent allies left, Hezbollah is becoming increasingly desperate.

Maybe I don't understand the dynamics of the situation in Southern Lebanon. But I know that if my family were surrounded by Hizballah terrorist thugs, I might try to make it a point to relocate my family while times were still safe on the road out - even if that meant leaving all we own.

Guess I'm feeling about as sorry for the human shields as I am the Americans bitching about our Government not getting them out quickly enough. They ought to be grateful there's good men willing to come get them period.

The world needs less dependence and more common sense.

Palestinian children use their mobile phones to take pictures of armed Palestinian women, members of the Popular Resistance Committees, protesting against Israel's operations in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon, in Gaza City, Tuesday, July 18, 2006

This little war against Israel by Hamas and Hizballah has certainly cleared up where some people stand. Helen Thomas is a Jew-hating bastard. But wait there's more:

Helen Thomas's Address To Al-Hewar September 8, 2004

It turns out (can you imagine?), that even Middle Easterners – Arabs, will fight for their own land. They are what we call the insurgents, or terrorists, or even the enemy. They are the enemy in their own country, trying to defend their own land.

During WWII, those who resisted the Nazi occupation were heralded for their resistance against human tyranny. But when Arabs do that, do they get that kind of salute? The Palestinians who resist every day the tyrannical occupation are in the same boat.

We ran like hell then hid in predetermined hidey spots while the older kids looked to beat the crap out of us. It was a lot of fun because they never found us.

They need to permit the evacuation of non-combatants in Hizballastan, they need to facilitate the evacuation of non-combatants in Hizballastan, they need to break the road-blocks that Hizballah has put up, and they need to prevent the Lebanese people from being taken hostage as human shields for these Hizballah agents of Iran.

Speaking of Hexbollah supporters, a Montreal family, Mom, Dad, four kiddies and grandma and grandpa were visiting their ancestral village when the whole thing started and were killed by an Israeli bomb within like the first 24 hours. Their relatives are making a huge fuss all over the Canadian press about them. They are describing Hexbollah as "our protectors" and the dead babies as "martyrs". One of the reporters on CBC asked the woman nurse family spokemen in an interview about how they felt about Hezbollah and she refused to answer saying they are only interested in their family living under Israeli bombs. She claims Daddy was running a school.

I have a couple of questions for her.

1) Where was the family relative to some important to the IDF Hezbollah military objective?

2) If they were indeed close enough to such an important Hezbollah military objective to get blown up, what the hell were they doing there?

3) What kind of school was Daddy running?

My favorite:

I *heart* Dame Helen. Tony Snow's not worthy to lick her ass.

The US's veto and their stay out of it attitude is temporary. The longer they wait to get involved, the more Israel can destroy Lebanon's infrastructure and hurt groups like Hezbollah and Hamas which is in the US's interests. Since Hezbollah members make up a significant percetnage of the Lebanese govt., the US and Israel can state the attacks are state sponsored when they know they're not.

On Osama hanged, from Snopes:
Origins: There
are few headlines that would grab the attention of more computer users around the world than news of Osama bin Laden's having been captured or killed, so that's exactly the bait pranksters have used more than once in attempting to lure unsuspecting victims users of Microsoft Windows platforms into installing malicious code onto their computers.

In July 2004 a message claiming to offer links to photographs of Osama Bin Laden's suicide was spammed to multiple newsgroups. The links actually tricked users into opening a file that installed the Backdoor.Hacarmy.D trojan horse.

In June 2005, similarly-themed e-mail message claimed to offer images of the capture and arrest of Osama bin Laden scanned from news videos and collected in an attached ZIP file, but the attachment actually harbored a version of the Psyme Trojan.

Both trojans were easily detected and removed with updated virus protection software, and neither Osama message is circulating widely or poses much of a threat to PC users any more.

1) I heard Anderson (I take my hair dresser into a war zone) Cooper on CNN keep repeating that Hizbowlashit are hitting civilians because they do not have the technology to better target their weapons as the IDF have. Like they do not target civilians on purpose. Jackass. They already have CNN and Al Jiz for spotters.

Basic Internet Security for ALL:

1.) NEVER under any circumstances open any email with an attachment that you have not been previously warned to expect! EVEN if the email is from your own mother. That which you do not open can not "surprise" you.

2.) If you run a PC, download Firefox/Thunderbird and set those as your default web browser & email - and then use them. Nearly all email & internet viruses are aimed specifically at IE and Outlook. If you do not use IE and Outlook most viruses will not affect you.

3.)Install an antivirus program and set it to update the database as often as possible. If you can't afford one, go to google for the package that contains Google Earth, Picassa and Norton - all free.

Ignore them at your own peril!

If you ever get an email telling you about a virus, do NOT forward it to all your friends, particularly if it tells you to. It is invariably a hoax.

I don't recall a word being spelled so many different ways: Hezbollah, Hezbullah, Hisballah, Hisbullah, and that's only a partial list.

Kaddafi, Khadaffi, Qadaffi, Qhadaffi Ghdaffi, Gadaffi and some more I cannot recall.

Anybody remember a few years ago about the American kid in China that got his ass "CANED" for breaking the law? I thought it a damn good idea myself - I don't care how uncivilized it supposedly is. When one acts like a spoiled, little brat the punishment should fit the crime.

I would like to invoke that law in the United States in places like Berkeley, Madison, NYC, and Austin.

I'll bet I could lash a reminder to these American hating, public teat bastard and bitches' butts to give them a new appreciation for sacrifice.

And I'll assure you when I bring the full force to their backside with a godzilla swing and a bamboo shoot, they'll have a nice reminder to respect their betters. Bet it would give them a whole new outlook about America.

If anyone is being prevented from leaving their villages, it is undoubtedly the political wing of Hizb'allah trying to protect civilians, as they will be safer in a confined area.

What a nutjob that Helen is:

Meanwhile, the Secretary of State went to Qatar to tell them to take Al-Jazeera off the air. And Condoleeza Rice put pressure on the networks here. Somehow, someone forgot the First Amendment and the role that the press is supposed to play in letting the chips fall where they may, and that only the truth should prevail.

They have the First Amendment in Qatar too?

I believe is was Singapore. If the caning practice was limited to only elitist brats in Berkeley, Madison, NYC, etc. I guess I'd be for it.

Yes, it was in Singapore, and it was for vandalism, IIRC.

The new MSM meme will be about the horrible evacuation of people in Lebanon

remember those people are not legal americans and most if not all support terrorism

and you're tax dollars thanks to MSM protests will be used to bring them to the USA!

How do you know who the Americans in Lebanon are? How do you know that they support terrorism?

If they are not citizens or legal residents (i.e., they have green cards), how can they be admitted to the United States?

I don't think you know what you are talking about.

Yes,it was Singapore

He and some of his buddies pretty much destroyed a bunch of cars.

IIRC his Singaporian buddies got much worse than he did, only his family whining to the US state dept got his sentence reduced.

#82 and #83,

Well, to the good people of Singapore then, my hat is off to them. A brilliant people! And I give myself an "F" for demographics and geography.

I suppose it was China that simply ran you over with a tank to grease the skids.

Either way works for me.

LOL on CNN the other night Nic Robertson was saying, with much surprise mind you that GASP many of the Hezbollah military assets are located in "densely populated" civilian areas!

Basically he said that the civilian areas were "built up" around the military assets, dont you know. Just a cooincidence you see.

Human filth these propagandists.

To just one kick, through the gate, with a regular shoe. I believe it's a wingtip.

Perhaps they trade and collect them :-(

I'll trade you two Rachel Corries and a Sirhan Sirhan for that Mickey Mantle card.

Take a look at the al-Reuters Picture Storiesfrom today. (Its not a direct link, select the one labelled "Escalating Violence in the Middle East")

Picture 11 of 12 is of a wounded Lebanese boy recovering in a hospital bed. His brother brought him a get-well gift: A toy rifle. Nice.

Guess I'm feeling about as sorry for the human shields as I am the Americans bitching about our Government not getting them out quickly enough. They ought to be grateful there's good men willing to come get them period.

There are supposed to be contingency plans in place for evacuations of American citizens when war breaks out. Per a U.S. Central Command spokesman

[a]s part of their regular training, such Marine units practice civilian evacuations. "This is their bread and butter..."

The problem that I see is that higher-ups in the US Government were still planning how to deploy these good men when other countries already had moved thousands of their own citizens out of Lebanon.

In two villages, exchanges of fire between residents and Hizbullah have broken out.

'Bout damn time.

Make that 100 villages, and they'll get somewhere (and maybe take their country back).

The Palestinians have used their own people as human shields too. Here's an account:

Israelis and Americans are not the only ones to suffer from Arafat's callous disregard for human life. In the summer of 1976, when the Palestinian refugee camp of Tel Zaatar in Beirut was being besieged by Christian militias, backed by the Syrian army, Arafat ordered the camp's inhabitants not to surrender, knowing full well that they would be defeated and many of them slaughtered. The survivors themselves later accused Arafat of sacrificing them because he needed martyrs to attract world attention to their plight, and there were plenty of them. During the fifty-five-day siege and the massacres that came in its immediate wake, some thirty-five hundred Palestinians, mostly civilians, were killed. When Arafat came to visit the camp's refugees, temporarily accommodated in the nearby town of Damour, destroyed by the PLO a few months earlier and its Christian population slaughtered and expelled, several women stood by their hovels and shouted "traitor" at him, while others threw rotten vegetables at him.
Arafat's War by Efrain Karsh, p 26

 Frank says:

I'd like to know who's Plunkin' the monkeys? -- It was on the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. I can't remember the year maybe 10 years ago? They were talking about AIDS and how AIDS all got started, he had 3 theory's. First Frank said something about AIDS being a government test gone wrong Then maybe it was an Alien (ET) test or mistake and finally they talked about the theory of AIDS coming from a monkey and then Frank said " I'd like to know who's plunkin' the monkey's?"
