Death Cult Mickey Still on the Air

Thu, May 10, 2007 at 9:12:09 am PDT

Imagine my surprise.

When the terrorists of Fatah announced yesterday that the degenerate, evil Mickey Mouse clone had been dropped by Hamas TV, they were lying: Hamas TV refuses to axe contested kids cartoon.

RAMALLAH, West Bank — A Hamas-run television channel has defied a Palestinian government request to axe a controversial children’s cartoon in which a Mickey Mouse look-alike urges resistance against Israel.

A senior official working for Al Aqsa (Jerusalem) television in the Gaza Strip said that the program - “Tomorrow’s Pioneers” - would air as normal this Friday in defiance of information minister Mustafa Barghouti.

“The program will continue and it will be broadcast tomorrow at 4.00 pm [1300 GMT]. Mustafa Barghouti misunderstood the issue,” said the official on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to talk to the press.

Earlier, the information ministry in the West Bank city of Ramallah said: “A politically-oriented children’s television program was withdrawn by the Al Aqsa TV station today following a request by the ministry of information.”

(Hat tip: LGF readers.)

UPDATE at 5/10/07 9:21:40 am:

The international media are absolutely disgusting and reprehensible with this story; they’re doing their level best to whitewash and minimize the impact, and it’s shameful beyond belief.

Palestinian children stand in front of a mural depicting Mickey Mouse as they hold Islamic and Palestinian flags in the West Bank village of Hawara, south of Nablus, in 2006. A Hamas-run television station defied Israel and the Palestinian government on Thursday by refusing to axe a controversial children’s puppet show in which a Mickey Mouse lookalike calls for resistance. (AFP/File/Menahem Kahana)

The media have now completely covered up the fact that “Farfur Mouse” doesn’t simply “urge resistance against Israel”—the mouse also talks about an Islamic takeover of the world. All mention of this part of the abomination is now gone from the media’s reports.

Here’s the video clip; see for yourself what they’re hiding from you:

Sorry to go OT so soon, but I wanted to post a note I got from my brother, who lives in Cherry Hill, NJ, much too close to the jihadi nitwits. His kids went to school with this bunch.

"I can add a few details about the planned attack on Fort Dix as they relate to Cherry Hill. The media is full of stories, of course, but often they leave out detail, and sometimes they get their facts wrong. So, for your edification:
- At least five of the suspects lived in Cherry Hill.
- At least four of the five who lived in Cherry Hill went to Cherry Hill High School West, same school as my kids went to.
- The three Duka brothers, Dritan, Shain, and Eljvir ("Elvis") lived in a house on Mimosa Drive on the east side of town.
- "Elvis" apparently did not graduate.
- Mohamad Ibrahim Shnewer lived at 1016 Tampa Ave. That's the other side of our neighborhood. The house is not too far from the Wawa on Route 70.
- Some of the pictures released to the press were from the West yearbooks.

The Duka brothers are illegal aliens. That didn't stop them from being enrolled in the Cherry Hill school district. However, let some poor American kid from Camden enroll in Cherry Hill to get a much better education, and he/she will get kicked out because he/she resides elsewhere. Apparently it's perfectly okay to check residency, but not immigration status. So my tax dollars are educating illegal aliens."

There are folks predicting as a foregone conclusion that there will be another war this summer. It's getting harder for the world to keep blaming everything on Israel, when they see videos like this. Close. As I understand it, hudna is a temporary truce which is abrogated as soon as it suits Muslims. You're thinking of taqiyya, the Muslim practice of lying to non-Muslims, which is no more a sin than lying to a dog. And, of course, that's different from the practice of kidnapping and enslaving non-muslims. I can't remember the word for that practice. Someitmes it's hard for me to keep all the reprehensible Islamic practices straight too.

When Palestinians and their supporters call Israelis and those who support Israel "ZioNazis" it is simply further evidence of Palestinian racism and bigotry. The claim that "Israel is doing to the Palestinians" what the Nazis did to the Jews is a hideous lie.

But what about calling the Palestinians and their supporters "IslamoNazis"?

Consider these facts:

1. Palestinians seek to mass murder Israelis, making no distinction between men and women, children and adults, sick or elderly and young and healthy.

2. The Mufti of Jerusalem in the 1930s/40s was a close friend of Adolph Hitler and spent the last years of the war in Berlin.

3. The Palestinians and other Muslim groups regularly produce and distribute anti-semitic propaganda reminiscent of the propaganda Nazi Germany used.

4. Palestinians and other Arabs have adopted the Nazi stiff arm salute.

5. As documented here at LGF, the Palestinians have proudly flown flags with the swastika.

CONCLUSION: The Palestinians and many of their supporters are rightly called "IslamoNazis."

47 coquimbojoe  Thu, May 10, 2007 9:33:36am

URK! File this under "Much More Than Obnoxious"( and sorry for the OT):

URL Buyers Hope to Cash in on Tragedy

BLACKSBURG, Va. - When Fred McChesney heard about the Virginia Tech shooting spree on April 16, he was appalled. But what he did next has appalled many others. Within hours of the rampage, the Phoenix man began buying dozens of domain names - CampusKillings.com, VirginiaTechMurders.com, SlaughterInVirginia.com - in the hopes of selling them later to the highest bidder.

McChesney, 48, said he saw it as an opportunity to show his contempt for firearms by featuring anti-gun content on the domains he is selling.

He also saw it as an opportunity to cash in.

"Everyone is profiting off of this," McChesney said. "I'm not hurting anyone."

Domain names related to the tragedy were snapped up almost immediately by people hoping to sell them off for a profit or use them to link to advertisers. The cost of registering such domains is generally less than $10 - but some are now being auctioned off for thousands.

You know, that really is a good point, and illustrates why our government should deal with other governments fundamentally on the basis of individual rights. Disney/ABC/whatever is one of the most powerful corporations in the world.

I think the proper solution here would be for Disney to hire its own, shall we say, mercenaries, who will then proceed to knock out the broadcast facilities of the Hamas TV station.

Perhaps what we are seeing here is the new paradigm for the future. Since our governments refuse to "get the necessary job done" in many international areas of conflict and criminality, perhaps the multinational mega-corporations will step in and conduct their own foreign policy -- with side benefits for the rest of humanity.

Think Dutch East India Company. United Fruit. British privateers. There is historical precedent.

Will Exxon declare war on Iran? Will Philip-Morris eradicate the poppy fields in Afghanistan? Will Disney bomb Gaza?

The media have now completely covered up the fact that “Farfur Mouse” doesn’t simply “urge resistance against Israel”—the mouse also talks about an Islamic takeover of the world.

KITS (105.3 FM here in San Francisco) was talking about this topic on "The Woody Show" this A.M. They mentioned this same detail - preaching global jihad; granted, the news is read by Greg Gory, the station's token conservative. But I've noticed this in the news more and more the last few days.

Himmler stated to Joseph Goebbels that he hadÝ 'nothing against Islam because it educates the men in this Division for me and promises them heaven if they fight and are killed in action; a very practical and attractive religion for soldiers!'

I think, Himmler really haven't understood the potential of Islam... the evil ideology of Islam, and Nazis( In this case Himmler ) though that its all and encompassing...

Churchill was absolutely right...

"Fanaticism is not a cause of war. It is the means which helps savage peoples to fight. It is the spirit which enables them to combine - the great common object before which all personal or tribal disputes become insignificant. What the horn is to the rhinoceros, what the sting is to the wasp, the Mohammedan faith was to the Arabs of the Soudan - a faculty of offence or defence."

...

now lets check the potential of Islam...
they don't only educate men in division with promises in heaven... but they even work as a reproduction machine, and then indocrtinate there own childrens with this evil ideology..

If it takes something like Mickey Mouse for people to finally get the message of the twin evils called Palestine and Hamas, great!

You're right this is great example of how depraved Palestinian society has become. Despite my picking on the koskidz, there have been quite a few diaries about how it's now impossible for any rational progressive to still support Palestinian "resistance". It's an eye opener for those who've been sleeping.

91 get2djnow  Thu, May 10, 2007 9:44:15am

Who is surprised that Hamas continues to indoctrinate their children with murderous hatred for Jews? Arabs have been persecuting Jooos for thousands of years, but a little light on their behavior is somehow supposed to turn it all around.

Another part of this is that it's not really public criticism to which they've been held up, it's more like suggestions to alter their message. After all, they are just teaching resistance to an oppressive regime, much in the way that socialists and other leftists are teaching resistance to their children.

Given Pacifica Radio and it's like, how can anyone deny that the goal of the left is to tear down anyone and anything that stands in their way of worldwide hegemony. Well, Islamsists just want the same thing, so how can it really be wrong?

Unfortunately, there is no real mainstream tide to balance the onslaught. If there were the men and women of the American Armed Forces would be allowed to win in Iraq, despite the government there. If there were an effort to destroy the worldwide movement of Islamists, then Israel would be taking the war to their enemies. Instead, our men and women are being killed by Iranians and Syrians, and Israelis are being killed by mickey-death-cult-worshipping palis.

Who is John Galt?

It seems that the advertising power (a Western concept) of a mouse is too important to abandon.

Someone tell me, are mice considered to be clean compared to dogs?

There’s a claim in the video, probably a recurring one, that Islamic (people, culture, etc.) at one point had (glory, honor, the place at the pinnacle of human civilization, etc.).

Who caused their fall, from Most Civilized Humans (or whatever), to a sniveling, sanctimonious rabble that must use the knowledge, ideas and symbols (actually the complete appearance) of another culture to attract enough of an audience to advance its cause?

It looks like an inside job to me. Will Michael Moore be investigating this conspiracy while it’s hot (assuming he’s still is considered enough of a box-office draw, and available, given his recent Cuban escapade)

I remember the American cultural fight, decades ago, about cartoons being too violent for young children.

Yet Hamas Mickey explicitly advocates murder, actually mass-murder, and to children (mostly in villages).

Where are the concerned parents, the Leftists, the do-gooders in America now?

Hillary, remember “It Takes a Village”? You’re on

I asked him point-blank if he thought it was racist. ( You'd have to be blind to not see that instantly.)

He couldn't bring himself to say that the Palestinian Authority was racist. "Misogynist, hateful, incendiary, etc.".

I kept pressing on the "R" word. Wouldn't say it.

It's a line they can't seem to cross. Arabs just get a free pass from African-Americans from any and all kind of anti-black racism, due to the tremendous respect that Islam has in the black communities across America.

Worst of the worst” list out today;

Burma, Cuba, Libya, North Korea Head 'Worst' List

In a worldwide survey of repressive regimes, 17 countries including Libya and North Korea are singled out by a human rights group as "the worst of the worst" for maltreatment of their citizens last year.

Most of the cited countries are repeat-offenders, and 45 countries were rated not free to some degree.

The eight countries judged to have the worst records on political rights and civil liberties were Burma, Cuba, Libya, North Korea, Somalia, Sudan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. Similarly branded for particularly repressive behavior were two territories, [Palestine? (nope!)] Chechnya and Tibet.

Within these countries and territories "state control over daily life is pervasive and wide-ranging," said the report by Freedom House, a New York-based private democracy watchdog organization.

It's a small world afterall...

Russia has needed a good bitch slappin' for a while now. They have provided their almost best SAM missle defense systems to Iran (they sell 'em to Belarus which in turn sells 'em to Iran) and they've constantly been a pain in the ass in the UN Security Council.
I used to think that since Putin USED to head the KGB, it was sorta ingrained in him to make mischief at the US's expense every chance he gets, mistakenly beliving that Russia is still the USSR and a major world power. In reality they don't have a substantial air force any more (some excellent aircraft, poor maintenance and fewer trained/experienced pilots than at any time in their history (as the USSR)); their Army is corrupt beyond belief and they've been "missing" or slow on paying Field Grade Officers for a long time now and their Navy is a joke. But for their ICBMs they really aren't a World Power anymore (and we've all seen how much good the US Nuke arsenal is in this day and age). Hell, even back when they were the USSR, they got their asses kicked, over many years in Afghanistan.
You remember Afghanistan; that nation that it took us, what, 8 weeks to subdue?
Right now, IIRC, Russia is the single largest exporter of oil in the World (yep, waaay ahead of the Saudi's and others)but other than oil, what's Russia been good for?

An 11-year-old girl has been rescued from a forced marriage, the Home Office has said.

Minister Baroness Scotland said the girl, who was born in Britain, was taken to Bangladesh at the age of six to care for her disabled mother.

At 11, she was forced into marriage but her aunt in the UK reported the case to authorities who brought her back to Britain and put her in foster care.

It is one of 5,000 cases handled by the government's forced marriage unit.

yeah, i have a feeling disney is treading lightly here out of fear.

just ONE bomb, just ONE incident, just ONE scare at a theme park and the happiest place in the world is forever tainted. loss of $$$ is a terrifying prospect (sorry, i don't think they care as much if people actually get hurt).

True, blue, but just one incident of allowing Hamas to use their trademarked Mouse without licensing it to them pretty much invalidates their claim to it. Which would also have huge repercussions on the toys, books, movies, mouse hats and all the other Mouse stuff they sell. And repercussions on all of their other trademarks.

Not to mention those of us that will boycott them in perpetuity.

And do remember, Disney is just one small part of one of the largest media conglomerates in the world (if not the largest) - ABC, GO, AOL, Netscape, Time, etc. and so forth.

Interesting idea. Can Disney legitimately bring legal action against your T-shirt company once it is established they have acquiesced to Hamas' misappropriation (in Gaza) of what I presume is a trademarked character ?

And how would it they spin it ?

So here's the plan.

Assuming Disney does nothing, I print up a bunch of T-shirts with Farfur-Rat doing an extended arm salute in front of a Palestinian flag.

Not Mickey, mind you, the Palestinian rat. He can have a Kafiyeh on.

Wait for Disney to begin legal action (against the legally isolated and completely asset-less T-shirt shell company), and hilarity ensues.

What would happen if I tried this?

1.) Be absolutely positive that you incorporate before you sell the first T-shirt.

2.) Put all your assets in your wife's name. Make sure you sell her your interest. Check with a lawyer - some states you might have to sell to your father in law.

3.) Hire a really good trademark/patent attorney right up front.

4.) Wait for the squads of legal eagles to arrive on your former doorstep.

I would bet on two weeks tops.

I think it is the ONLY explanation for the silence from Disney - that they have licensed the mouse to Hamas for use on a kiddie show. There is some precedent - Russian muppets for example.

Search google for "disney trademark violation" - long, long list. They have been known since the first days of the internet for going after every little wanna-be graphic artist grandma with a page on Geocities who happened to put up a Mickey with a sledge hammer. It would mean them giving up only their single most popular (and financially valuable) trademark, not all of it.

They wouldn't go bankrupt, but yes, it would be a huge blow. Disney and Mickey Mouse are virtually synonymous.

Even if Disney did license their rat to the Palestinians, they still have to exercise some control over how the trademark is used. Which brings me back to the point I made with the obscene T-shirts.

Realistically, I don't have the time or inclination to sequester my assets and moonlight by selling offensive Rat T-shirts. . .at the moment. . .but if Disney doesn't defend their trademark, *someone* will do it.

By the way, actually doing the work. . .trivial.

Two hours with photoshop, any one of a dozen internet T-shirt companies, a few hundred bucks, a registered web-domain (Racist-rat.com) some mad internet skillz, and the inevitable publicity (word of mouth and otherwise) that a few carefully placed internet ads would generate. . .you could probably get the actual product shipping within 1-2 weeks.

207 Highrise  Thu, May 10, 2007 11:35:34am

The only thing I've heard from Disney execs is *no comment*. Someone did link a newspiece where the living daughter of original Disney Creator said this was horrible. But that isn't the same as someone who is running the Disney Business.

Sick...We've made Disney what it is...and all they can do now is *no comment*.

208 looking closely  Thu, May 10, 2007 11:39:00am

Oh yeah, I'd probably have about 1-2 weeks (maximum) of shipping product before I got a "cease and desist" letter from Disney.

Maybe a little longer, if I really tried to cover my tracks and had a good facade. (I should also probably pick a favorable legal jurisdiction to try the stunt from, right?).

It would probably take a few more weeks before death threats from Palestinians and their supporters came in.

Funny thing here is, if it turned out that Disney actually *DID* license their rat to the Palestinians, they'd probably have to pay me off to go away just so that this little fact didn't get discovered in the ensuing lawsuit.

More hilarity ensues. . .

209 ladycatnip  Thu, May 10, 2007 11:41:01am

Maybe now Disney will start litigation.

210 edouard  Thu, May 10, 2007 11:43:18am

It's beyond time for Disney execs to show some backbone. To demonstrate that they aren't cowed by Hamas TV and to take financial & legal action to protect the integrity of their most recognizable icon.

If they don't, I can only conclude that The Disney Co. finds it all hunky-dory, this now-emerging popular association of Mickey Mouse with terrorism, genocide of Jews, Islamist death-aggrandizing perversions of children's minds, and Islamist regional & global aggression.

Its not clear to me that Disney could effectively mount litigation in Gaza.

Seriously, what "Palestinian court" is going to make a ruling against Disney here? Even if that unlikely event actually happened, where is the enforcement going to come from? Can you imagine Hamas "police" confiscating the Mickey-Rat video and costume?

Disney could likely get some other court (ie a US Federal court) to make a ruling here, but translating that into action on the ground in the no-longer-occupied territories isn't guaranteed.

The LEAST Disney can do here is make some kind of public statement saying they don't approve, and they are asking the Palestinians to cease-and-desist.

So why isn't Disney? I can think of several reasons.

1. It is are afraid of Palestinian terrorism.
2. It doesn't want to damage its Middle Eastern market (ie Cartoon riots, part II).
3. Disney has asked the Palestinians to cease and desist already, but doesn't want to draw even more attention to the racist use of its rat by making public comment.
4. Disney has actually licensed the rat to the Palestinians, but don't want this fact to get out because its too embarassing.
5. Disney hopes it will all blow over in a few days if ignored.
6. All of the above.

CORRECTED - Palestinians shelve Islamic "Mickey Mouse" TV show

(Correcting quote in paragraph 6 to read ..."I urged" ... instead of ... "I demanded"... )

Following complaints by Israeli watchdog groups that attracted foreign scrutiny, Palestinian Information Minister Mustafa Barghouthi said he had asked that broadcasts of "Tomorrow's Pioneers" be halted so the show's content could be reviewed.

"I URGED that Hamas suspend the programme and they have withdrawn it, because it was wrong to use a programme directed at children to convey political messages," said Barghouthi, a political independent in the Hamas-led Palestinian government.

I might also add that Mickey Mouse is the #1 most recognized cartoon character on the planet (even today).

Co-opting him as a spokesman for Islamist Supremacism and Jew-Hatred means that the Palestinian children who are first exposed to Mickey that way (call him "Farfur" or whatever) will forever associate him with those racist beliefs for the rest of their lives, wherever they happen to live.

Question to the room in general: why don't we "Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty" their collective asses?

You know, put our own television station up somewhere close with a frickin' HUGE power source so it can crank out the megawatts (or maybe a conveniently placed satellite overhead) ... maybe even step on their frequencies a bit, and put LOTS of kids-oriented programs, etc., into the airwaves.

Get the little rugrats hooked on Barney, make them all do-bees, maybe get them dancing to Schoolhouse Rock, etc., and I'm betting we see a change in attitude in the years to follow.

Seems like such a good idea, I don't know why it isn't being done now, or if it is.  But it's gotta be better than how things stand.  Right now Genocidal Mouse is the only thing on, so that's what the kiddies will learn.  Give them some rational choices, tout the advantages of Democracy, etc., and we might be setting things up for improvement.

Disney's daughter isn't mincing words on this. This comes from HonestReporting:
In response, the only surviving daughter of Walt Disney, original creator of the beloved Mickey Mouse character, says in the New York Daily News that she is disgusted by Hamas' tactics to use characters that children around the world adore to preach hatred and indoctrinate innocent children into a culture of violence.

Diane Disney Miller said she's disgusted that a ripoff of her father's star cartoon character is being used on a new Hamas TV show to encourage Palestinian children to take up arms against Israel and America.

She was more horrified the terror group was using the knockoff Mickey to preach Islamic radicalism to kids throughout the Gaza Strip.

"It's not just Mickey, it's indoctrinating children like this, teaching them to be evil," said Miller, a Northern California winery owner. "The world loves children and this is just going against the grain of humanity."

"What we're dealing with here is pure evil and you can't ignore that," Miller said.

#221 kulhwch: "Why don't we Radio Free Europe their collective asses?"

It's been tried, but with the State Department in charge take a wild guess what happened.

From the Wall Street Journal:

Mad TV
U.S. taxpayers subsidize terrorist propaganda and Holocaust denial in the Arab world.

BY JOEL MOWBRAY
Tuesday, May 1, 2007 12:01 a.m. EDT

Testifying under oath recently, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice misled Congress in her strong defense of Al-Hurra, the taxpayer financed Arab TV network. It was unwitting, though. She herself was misled.

During the March 21 House Foreign Operations Appropriations subcommittee hearing, Rep. Mark Kirk (R., Ill.) pressed Ms. Rice on the wisdom of providing a platform to Islamic terrorists, citing Hezbollah leader Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah's Dec. 7 speech, which Al-Hurra aired live. The broadcast speech "went on for 30 minutes," she responded, "followed by commentary, much of which was critical of Nasrallah."

In fact, Mr. Nasrallah's speech was carried in its entirety, roughly an hour and eight minutes. The commentary that followed--a 13-minute phone interview with Wael Abou Faour, a member of Lebanon's governing coalition--was indeed critical of Mr. Nasrallah. He accused the Hezbollah leader of not being anti-U.S. and anti-Israel enough. While Mr. Nasrallah had claimed Lebanon's governing coalition was aligned with the U.S. and had backed Israel during the war last summer, Mr. Abou Faour said that Hezbollah was actually closer to the U.S and added that any Lebanese faction that assisted "the Israeli enemy" should not be allowed to engage in political discussion because "the only place they should be [is] in prison."

With an annual budget now over $70 million, Al-Hurra has for three years served as the centerpiece of America's aggressive post-9/11 courtship of the Arab world.

If by "we" you mean the USA, there is only so much we can do. With all the problems in Iran, Darfur, etc, disrupting internal Palestinian propaganda isn't a big priority of our gov't. We can't micromanage everything, everywhere, all the time.

If by "we" you mean Israel much of "Palestine" already receives Israeli TV.

If Israel started broadcasting children's programming in Arabic, the Hamasniks would simply ban it.

A better, question, I think, is why doesn't Israel destroy Hamas' TV station?
