-RetweetRon Paul Poll Punking Techniques Exposed

Fri, Dec 21, 2007 at 12:14:33 pm PST

Ron Paul supporters just can’t help revealing how crazed they are. Here a Paulbat helpfully explains why they don’t post working links to internet polls at their site, and instead rely on their camp followers to copy and paste: Why Links Are Broken!!!! Read!! - Ron Paul Forums.

Why Links Are Broken!!!! Read!!

I am sick of people not understanding why we post broken links!

We do this so they can’t track where we are coming from. If they see a couple hundred people voting from this site for Ron in 30min, it makes us look bad.

Please understand the internet!

And here, by the way, is the official Ron Paul Poll Punking Database, where they collect links to online polls for the Paulbats to spam. Notice that all their links go through an “anonymizer” site, so that web site owners don’t catch on to what they’re doing.

Uh, if seeing the truth make you *look* bad, maybe what you are doing is bad.

Not the worst sin in the world, but spamming a poll is pointless, and there is a reason you are universally mocked for it. You seem to understand this in that you try to hide it, but not enough to stop doing it.

Try to be honest in your campaign.

Expect a pile-on as Hannity, Levin, and others weigh in and slam Huckabee for his bad move. He might try to fix the problem, but the damage is already done.

That the Ron Paul base consists of cheaters is now obvious for all to see.

But there appears to be something dishonest about their idol Ron Paul. On a TV show on a CNN channel, when asked about the 9/11 troofer ideology, he said that it was "preposterous". But Ron Paul has several time appeared on the show of a 9/11 troofer, apparently pandering to the 9/11 troofers and soliciting their votes, and courting them and giving them the impression that he is one of them. So like the lying politician that he is, he gives opposite impressions depending on who his audience is.

It appears that Ron Paul is basically a liar.

The Paulians are arguing that the pics with Don Black mean nothing. A typical way it is phrased :

I saw a picture with Richard Nixon and Elvis together once. Which proves beyond a doubt that Nixon was in fact a noted Blues musician in his spare time. Clearly if you're speaking at a public event or signing books the only prudent thing is to not talk to anyone, sign anything or let your picture be taken with anyone. Be like Fred Thompson - say your speech and duck out the back.

Such arguments pose a False Premise.

Nixon was a politician. Elvis a celebrity entertainer. If Nixon had a picture with Elvis, one could infer many things (which both Nixon and Elvis would want you to infer, thereby motivating them to take said picture together).

1) Nixon wanted to be considered cool. Fat chance - but that is what Nixon wanted - to have some Elvis to rub off on him and make him acceptable to more voters.

2) Elvis wanted to be considered important. Not every celeb gets a photo with the POTUS.

Paul is a politician. Black is a prominent white supremacist. What does each get out of it?

1) For Black it is legitimacy and implied access for his followers to witness and ogle over.

2) For Paul it may be one of several things -

a) some guy who wanted his picture with Paul. Why would Paul turn down a request for a picture and autograph? But, upon learning who Black is, one would think (if Paul is in the business of politics) that Paul would be quick to explain the encounter and repudiate any and all association with the guy (including the $500 donation from the same guy)

b) a picture with Black that was to be kept "among friends" so as to raise Black's standing among his followers and solidify support among a group that has raised money for Paul and is organizing people for the Iowa Caucuses (both facts established from images pulled off of Stormfront's open directory server last night).

So the Nixon/Elvis parallel doesn't work. Nor does the "Some Guy"/"Some Celeb" or "Some Guy" / "Some Politician" angle. Black isn't "some guy" - he is a celebrity and leader in the White Nationalist movement, and such photo ops are never benign. Politicians are careful about who they get photos with as are celebs, which is why there aren't any Cheryl Crow / GWB photos out there, for example.

From what I see, Ron Paul wants one audience to believe (a) and another (b). We at LGF see this all the time when dealing with CAIR, Hamas, Hizballah and other terror apologists.

Ron Paul has a problem.

60 zombie  Fri, Dec 21, 2007 12:32:39pm

Look, if anybody but Giuliani gets the Republican nomination, we might as well let Hillary start redecorating the Lincoln Bedroom right now. Nobody else has a chance.

The MSM knows this. That is the reason -- and the only reason -- why they are giving air time to the other candidates, and trying to pump up their campaigns with free publicity. If it wasn't for the faux-promotion of the liberal media, trying their best to elevate an unelectable candidate to the Republican nomination, all these also-rans would remain also-rans.

I predict that in the long run, all of this balderdash will burn away in the hot light of reality. And then we'll get down to business: Rudy vs. Hillary.

As a matter of fact, Nixon did play five musical instruments growing up. Can't recall all of them the top of my head, but I believe piano and sax were two of them.

I discovered that and many other interesting factoids at his library; the home he grew up in is on the grounds, and they have his instruments there.

BTW, Elvis also gave him a nice handgun, which is also in display.

Everyone I know thinks Ron Paul is not in his right mind. And that's kind. Even libertarians I know are rolling their eyes over this guy. He's starkers.

I like Walter Williams who apparently has endorsed Ron Paul. Williams fills in for Rush from time to time. Methinks there's a disconnect between what libertarians have believed about Ron Paul and what the man is really like.

He's attracting every loony fringe group one can imagine and it's not difficult to understand why. The man comes across as bat-shit crazy just like the loony fringe groups do.

I disagree on that. Rudy would probably make a good president, but he's not the only GOPer who might fit the bill. Mitt might make a good president as well.

Both will likely surround themselves with good people, and that's more than can be said about the crop of Democrats. Hillary has Sandy Berger, among others. Obama has zero experience, which is only slightly less than Edwards, who has the benefit of having run for the office before (and lost).

That was 16 years ago. 16 years from now Ron Paul will be 88.

Ron Paul is 72 years old? Well, he is certainly old enough to know better, isn't he.

I really am surprised he is that old. From his pictures I pegged him at about 65.

And no, he still hasn't denounced his lovely supporters :).

I saw a picture with Richard Nixon and Elvis together once. Which proves beyond a doubt that Nixon was in fact a noted Blues musician in his spare time.

He made Elvis an agent at large...and gave him a badge.

Yes he did actually. From the mighty Wiki..

He became active in the local Democratic Party, first volunteering to clean the party offices. He eventually earned the title of precinct captain. In this capacity, he met and was photographed with future-First Lady Rosalynn Carter. During the search of Gacy's house after his arrest, this photo caused a major embarrassment to the U.S. Secret Service, as the photo depicted Gacy wearing an "S" lapel pin, which meant the Secret Service had given him a high-level security clearance

Look, if anybody but Giuliani gets the Republican nomination, we might as well let Hillary start redecorating the Lincoln Bedroom right now.

I've thought that same thing myself, Zombie. I've been very suspicious of Huckster's recent boom in the polls. It's crossed my mind more than once that perhaps this was nothing more than liberal MSM building him up b/c they believe he'll be an easy target to take down in an election when up against Hillary.

So far as the Ronulans, guys these people get nuttier and nuttier as the days go by. On my home the other day, there was some hippy standing on the street corner about 5 blocks from my house, holding a home made sign that read, "Ron Paul can save America".

Tehran, 21 Dec. (AKI) - Europe will eventually become a Muslim continent, according to a representative of Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.
"In a dozen years, Europe will be an Islamic continent," said Rasul Jalilzadeh on Friday as he was speaking to the basiji, a voluntary organisation in the capital Tehran.

"The Islamisation of the European continent is imminent and this step favours the arrival of the Mahdi," he said, referring to the 12th imam of Shiite Islam.

Shiites believe that the Imam Mahdi, who disppeared as an adolescent, will return to bring an end to chaos and bring universal justice.

Rasul Jalilzadeh believes that "the Islamisation of Europe is one of the consequences of the Islamic revolution in Iran" in that "the messages and values that this revolution has transmitted to the Europeans, to convince them "to abandon their current faiths and convert to Shiite Islam

I wonder if his staying power doesn't have a lot to do with the sympathetic feelings that may be generated by the constant pounding he gets from LGF and other blogs.
Wouldn't it be better to just ignore this guy?
Apparently from what is said about him on the web he doesn't appeal to any sane voters so he is hardly a player in the total scheme of our political process..

The more fanatical are convinced that Paul is the genuine choice of a huge percentage of Americans, if not an actual majority. They are utterly convinced that some massive conspiracy is concealing this and suppressing their efforts. Like any group of conspiracy believers, they will see this result as confirming a conspiracy of suppression. They will consider electoral defeat to be illegitimate and will therefore take it as a license to do literally anything.
Most Paul supporters are law-abiding people but there are enough of them that the fringe, which we have seen again and again, is, itself, quite large. With that and the documented tendency of conspiracists to conflate personal and public issues, I think we could see some serious violence from some of these people.

Christofascists oppress godless children (with pic of the godless cretins)...
Boy, 9, banned from school Christmas party - 'because he didn't believe in Jesus'

Teachers banned a nine-year-old schoolboy from attending his class Christmas party - because of his lack of religious beliefs.

Sobbing Douglas Stewart was forced to stay at home while his friends got presents from Santa and tucked into ice cream and jelly.

His parents were told he wasn't welcome at the celebration because they had pulled him out of religious eduction earlier in the year.

Headmaster Ian Davidson said that because the boy had no interest in religion he couldn't celebrate the birth of Christ.
...
Mum-of-four Dawn revealed: "Douglas had come home to get changed for the party. No one had said anything to him so as far as he knew he was going.

"He was really upset when I told him he couldn't go back to school. He just lay on the rug and cried. It was such a shame but there was nothing I could do."

You gotta ask yourself, is this a campaign, or a new religion?

I just perused some of the comments below, and I am dismayed at so much mean-spiritedness. My first thought is These CAN'T be Ron Paul supporters; they're too hateful, too irrational, and Dr. Paul ALWAYS speaks his message with love and rationality.

My second thought is If these ARE actual Ron Paul supporters, they need to listen to what the good doctor says and and does and try to emulate him. He sets a very high standard of behavior, and those of us who don't live up to that standard only hurt him and his campaign.

re: #59 karmic_inquisitor

The Nixon-Elvis photo was for a specific request -- Elvis asked Nixon to make him a "Federal Agent-at-Large" in the Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs. Nixon agreed to it because he thought the publicity would help stop burgeoning drug abuse amongst the youth. It didn't work, but it was understandable.

Besides which, Elvis was in no way a nefarious figure. Just a much-beloved entertainer. BIG difference.

Also, the famous Rosalynn Carter photos with John Wayne Gacy and Jim Jones, both have valid explanations:

Gacy was not known to be a murderer when the photo was taken. So you can't blame Rosalynn for being photographed with him. He was just a random fan at that point.

And Jim Jones was a major Democratic Party activist, and had not yet committed mass-murder. So again, nothing out of line about the photo, at the time it was taken.

Ron Paul with an already KNOWN neo-Nazi is a completely different story.

Neighbors Find Stolen Jesus Statues At Church

They took the manger and the baby," said resident Vicki Combs.

In the statues' place, the thieves left a note: "Do not worry for baby Jesus is not gone, yet he is just not born, yet. You can find your dear Jesus at OLPH on his birthday."

"OLPH" stands for Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, located near the residences.

"We found 12 different sizes and types of baby Jesuses," said Msgr. Paul Montoya. "I'm not too sure if it's a young person's prank. We're not sure why they would do this."

Montoya said the statues appeared overnight at the foot of a Virgin Mary statue in the church grotto.

Combs said she is pleased to have found her Jesus statue.

At this point, people who put Ron Paul's name on an online poll are asking to be punked. Ignore him and they'll go away.

By the way, I'm getting the feeling lately that there's a similar movement afoot for Fred Thompson. Anyone else notice some unusual spikes for him in recent internet polls?

The way I see it is that Rudy is just okay to most voters. They discovered some things about his background and marital life that perhaps don't appeal to a lot of conservatives. Then they took a quick look at Huckleberry and liked what they saw. In some ways the opposite of Rudy. His poll numbers shot skyward. But Huck has a lot of things that, upon closer examination, don't look that good. Fred Thompson is the man in the middle. It's a pendulum that is still swinging wildly around. Don't ask me to bet serious money on the outcome until I see the results of a couple of state primaries.

If the website really is a Ron Paul- or Ron Paul-affiliated-site (the RP graphic, not photo, at the top raises questions) website, the "white supremacist" category suggests more than just a casual encounter.

It looks like there’s more than just a skid mark here, and the skid mark isn’t a wedgie-type skid mark.

re: #71 karmic_inquisitor

re: #63 Mich-again

Same false premise. Did Gracy raise money and "get out the vote" for Roslyn?

Yes he did actually. From the mighty Wiki..

He became active in the local Democratic Party, first volunteering to clean the party offices. He eventually earned the title of precinct captain. In this capacity, he met and was photographed with future-First Lady Rosalynn Carter. During the search of Gacy's house after his arrest, this photo caused a major embarrassment to the U.S. Secret Service, as the photo depicted Gacy wearing an "S" lapel pin, which meant the Secret Service had given him a high-level security clearance

I may be quibbling here, but Gracy worked his way up the Democratic Party ladder, not the Carter for President ladder. Is Don Black respected anywhere in the Republican Party (except at some Ron Paul meetups?). By the time Roslyn met him, he had been vetted and evidenced by the lapel pin.

Further, Gracy's crimes weren't known at the time of the meeting. Black 's associations and Stormfront dealings are well known.

If the Paulians want to hold the parallel up, then what are they willing to concede?

a) that Black was vetted by Ron Paul's political organization or by the Republican Party? - or -

b) that Black's associations and Stormfront dealings were and are unknown?

Another question is to ask if the Carters brushed off the picture after Gracy was discovered as a serial killer or if they were embarrassed by it.

Paulians are brushing this off in hopes of keeping the neonazi support and $$$ while not being implicated by them.

Furious mother Dawn Riddell, 38, said yesterday: "I've helped out at the Christmas party before and it's got absolutely nothing to do with Jesus. Douglas was heartbroken he couldn't go. It was cruel."

The boy and his brother Callum, 11, attend Cluny Primary, a council-run school in Buckie, Banffshire.

As the family have no religious beliefs, Miss Riddell had asked for them to be exempt from RE lessons.

But she was stunned when the head called with the news about the party.

She contacted Moray Council to find out its policy on school parties and was told these were non-religious.

C'mon, it seems like the the parents checked this out. I'm guessing the headmaster was trying to make a point and use social exclusion to coerce the kids into attending religious classes.

I don't understand the Internet!

For some reason, the Rosalynn Carter - Jim Jones photo eludes me.

All I can find are textual descriptions of the meeting:

Jones became acquainted with a variety of influential people, none of whom knew him very well. Jones had befriended Dr. Carlton Goodlet, a wealthy black who owned a local newspaper. Jones befriended the Reverend Cecil Williams, of San Francisco's Glide Memorial Church, and he became acquainted with Assemblyman Willie Brown. In 1975 Jones helped George Moscone win his election as mayor of San Francisco, and Moscone put Jones in charge of the city's housing authority. And during Jimmy Carter's campaign for the presidency in 1976 Jones' relished the fifteen-minute interview that he had with Rosalynn Carter.

I must turn in my black belt in Google Fu, and hang my head in shame.

I don't think Jesus is particularly happy with these folks at present.

How do you think JC feels about this?

Montoya said the statues appeared overnight at the foot of a Virgin Mary statue in the church grotto.
...
Combs said she is pleased to have found her Jesus statue.

"I think I'll nail it down," Combs said.

Well, he don't like stealing, that's fer sure. But the manger jesus' are just symbols. What the Christofacists did to that boy is far worse. The people that were victims of the prank are adults and can cope better than that little boy.

Maybe he isn't a Christian, but what the school did to him isn't what Jesus taught.

But she wants to 'pick and choose' and cry victim when the school doesn't want to accept a scenario where every parent custom creates a new curriculum for every student.

Ok then. The hell bound little bastards got what they deserved.

The mother made the decision. The 'final destination of their mortal souls' will hopefully not be decided by their mother.
If they taught about islam in a school my child attended, and I choose to have my child not attend the classes, what the hell would give me the right to decide they should attend a 'Qoms Day' celebration?

Or is it Luthiers?
I'm a luthier (violin fixer dude) and a lutenist (I play a mean 8 course renaissance lute) but I'm not a luteman (who levels concrete) nor am I Lutheran (Worshiper of Luther Vandros).
But do you enjoy eating lutefisk?

Whatever you do with it, don't desecrate it.

The general craziness we have seen from these people makes me wonder how some of them might react when their guy fails to make a showing in the primaries.

Kinda like those whiners that are still saying Booosh stole the Presidency with the help of the Supreme Court.

There is a lot of overlap in the demographic, but there are also some crucial differences. I don't doubt that Stormfronters and their various fellow-travelers who support Paul this time around also thought that Bush stole the 2000 election. It wasn't their man who was getting the shaft in 2000, though, so they didn't particularly care.
As groups, these gangs are not going to resort to violence but they are far more likely than the moonbat left to include, or to influence, individuals who will become violent on their own initiative. The wacko left talks violence (and incites it overseas) but their version is a fantasy of collective, organized violence in the Che/Arafat mode, a kind of vicarious revolution. They are just not that big on individual initiative. The fever-swamp "right" (as it is designated in the MSM) definitely is.
See Tim McVeigh and Alan Berg.

Not trying to be overly dramatic. However, Raw Story posted an article stating RON PAUL posed for photo with neo nazis. It was from an article, with pictures that Little Green Assholes, ooops, I mean Little Green Footballs posted. (I followed the link, I do not read LGF) and they have posted the pics and are spreading this shit far and wide. Claiming that RP is a Nazi, and supports this shit.

The poster admits he doesn't read LGF yet makes the absurd claim that you are saying that Paul is a Nazi. Pure desperation over their champions associations are making them seem crazier than ever.

They are making it up as they go.

Ron Paul is not a Nazi.

Ron Paul is not mentally competent.

I'd have to look it up. Am sure there are rules about how the money can be spent and when. Not that they all follow the rules of course.

265 Sarnac  Fri, Dec 21, 2007 2:08:36pm

The reason they break the posting links is so the website logs for the poll webserver fails to show any HTTP-referrer listing.

If Paul-supporters could directly click the links and jump straight to the sites, the logs would trivially show which votes came in one hop from the Paul-Poll-Agregator site and would be deleted or ignored with minimal effort.

Even better, any votes that came with a HTTP-referrer of the poll-agregator could be auto-ignored ... by using broken links, they guarantee that no backtrace exists and the links look like someone hand-typed in the address to their browser.

Texas Taxes Titties.

In what some have dubbed the "pole tax," the Lone Star State will require its 150 or so strip clubs to collect a $5-per-customer levy, with most of the proceeds going to help rape victims. The tax goes into effect on New Year's Day.

That'll get a rise out of the patrons alright.
