Hillarious. What is that - a blow-up-a-bunch-of-Jews-fish?

2 colt  Wed, Nov 13, 2002 12:22:21pm

Only one of these spends the first few hours of the day aranging its headdress to represent Palestine. So who is the more advanced life form?

3 NC  Wed, Nov 13, 2002 12:23:34pm

Uncanny.

4 Freebourne, Secularia  Wed, Nov 13, 2002 12:24:01pm

Careful, someone is liable to “fish” out the Bush/monkey photos. ;-)

5 NC  Wed, Nov 13, 2002 12:24:20pm

Let me guess: that fish feeds on other fish, right?

6 Robert Crawford  Wed, Nov 13, 2002 12:24:21pm

Be nice to the fish. It's in his genes to be goggle-eyed and cold blooded.

7 Heidi  Wed, Nov 13, 2002 12:25:45pm

Now, now, the fish is much better looking. No animal could be so twisted.

8 Ben Noah  Wed, Nov 13, 2002 12:27:36pm

Charles,

How can you so thoughtlessly defame that species of fish I ask you? Have you no shame? That fish is probably 50 times smarter then your comparison entity and probably 50 times less slimey or scaly as well.

Mmmm.. I think you owe it an apology..

9 Ben Noah  Wed, Nov 13, 2002 12:28:46pm

Do you know what's frightening though in all seriousness.. That fish is in a better state of mind and of more clarity than that "man"..

What say you to that?

10 colt  Wed, Nov 13, 2002 12:33:45pm

Come on people! That fish gave blood on 9/11!

11 d  Wed, Nov 13, 2002 12:35:32pm

Arafish?

12 ADB  Wed, Nov 13, 2002 12:35:40pm

Hey, c'mon, they really do have something in common.
Both would look really swell submerged in my aquarium.

13 Crusade Now  Wed, Nov 13, 2002 12:36:32pm

The balck and white kheffiyah of Fatah....If I see this one more fuckin time on the tube....>>!>>>!>>!>

14 Infidel  Wed, Nov 13, 2002 12:37:43pm

I agree with Ben stop insulting an honest, hardworking fish.

15 set  Wed, Nov 13, 2002 12:38:40pm

How dare you insult that fish. You sir, are an anti-ichthyite.

16 set  Wed, Nov 13, 2002 12:39:03pm

Doh, someone beat me to the punch.

17 Laurence Simon  Wed, Nov 13, 2002 12:41:32pm

Just wait until the ASPCA slaps you with a cease and desist order over causing grievous insult to the fish.

18 Lee  Wed, Nov 13, 2002 12:41:55pm

Let's reunite the twins. Time for Ararat to "sleep with the fishes."

19 Meryl Yourish  Wed, Nov 13, 2002 12:47:37pm

I wouldn't worry about the ASPCA. I'd worry about the Icthypundit, myself.

20 Elizabeth  Wed, Nov 13, 2002 12:53:06pm

Where do you find these things!

21 m12edit  Wed, Nov 13, 2002 12:58:31pm

Charles...you kill me...

22 Freebourne, Secularia  Wed, Nov 13, 2002 12:58:55pm

Maybe Arafat could get some design ideas for the ahem “head dress”? Black and white is sooooo passe! And checks, they are totally–OUT! ;-)

23 .  Wed, Nov 13, 2002 1:02:48pm

I'm my regular monitorings of CG (back online, btw) and Qutubi.com (blog run by Saccharin Jamal), I stumbled upon the deliciously spiteful last post at:
[Link: www.qutubi.com...]

24 .  Wed, Nov 13, 2002 1:05:08pm

N'er mind.

Except for the fact that it's just so out of nowhere and the last sentence, it's really not *that* deliciously funny.

The spelling J-E-W-S is a little LGF-esque, even.

25 dr. Jal Hampson  Wed, Nov 13, 2002 1:05:40pm

Does the fish have a dynamite strapped to it's belly?

26 .  Wed, Nov 13, 2002 1:08:13pm

Oh who am I kidding. It was me. I confess!!!!

I posted in a fit of bitterness and anger, which I later found funny. :(

27 h-man  Wed, Nov 13, 2002 1:20:06pm

everyone knows that helen thomas, former AP reporter, white house press corp skank, is either arafat's hideous twin sister OR arafat with a wig. if anyone can find a pic of that monster and post it, my point will be all but made.

28 Lee  Wed, Nov 13, 2002 1:27:24pm

#27: Ararat is also a dead ringer of Ringo Starr. (Things that make you go "hmmmm.")

30 Sarah  Wed, Nov 13, 2002 1:46:38pm

#29 thanks a lot. Now I'm going to have nightmares for the next few nights. You should really warn people before posting that kind of stuff.

31 PaxAmerica  Wed, Nov 13, 2002 1:49:53pm

LGF;
We of the PADL(Piscine Anti-Defamation League) vigorously condemn your vicious, hateful demagoguery as an effront to all slimy ugly creatures that dwell within the oceanic underworld.

32 Sarah  Wed, Nov 13, 2002 2:05:18pm

Arik isn't a stud either, but give him a break he's 72 years old. Arafat, on the other hand has been a fish his whole life.

Here's a picture of young Arafish:

And this is just terrifying:

33 rjm  Wed, Nov 13, 2002 2:20:06pm

Talk about throwing your catch back in. Ugghh!

Nightmares and the silly season. :)

34 Sam  Wed, Nov 13, 2002 2:24:25pm

32 Sarah:

And this is just terrifying:

Eeeeeek! In the name of all that is good and decent, burn that picture and launch the ashes into the sun!

as to the young arafish pictures, he looks like an arabic pimp.

35 gloria m.  Wed, Nov 13, 2002 3:39:30pm

You had me fooled. For a minute I thought they had cloned good old Yasser Arafat.

36 gloria m.  Wed, Nov 13, 2002 3:42:50pm

#28:

As a Beatles fan, I don't think it's fair to compare Ringo Starr to Yasser Arafat...I haven't seen Ringo wearing a schmatte in the shape of Palestine lately...

37 red  Wed, Nov 13, 2002 3:48:13pm

Charles, I've been a fan and every day reader for over a year but, listen- I don't mean to ruin the fun that everyone seems to be having here, but you slam the Arab press for their depictions of Israelis as animals, then you turn around and post something like this. Haven't you heard the stereotype that all Arabs look like tropical fish. In the 'hood that I grew up in, we always called the 7-11 clerks "Chihlid face". but damn, ya know, that was before I went to college and learned that we all just need to get along, like Dr. Rodney King said. AND on that note, have you ever noticed that Asians look alot like gerbils. I'm just saying, take a look some time, BUT shame on you Charles.

38 Ziggy  Wed, Nov 13, 2002 4:11:37pm

Boy have you stooped to a new low-just hope that fish cannot sue!

39 Amy  Wed, Nov 13, 2002 4:24:47pm

The fish is so much more attractive - it's no contest. I just hope that PETA doesn't get wind of this, though it's a tossup as to which entity they'd feel compelled to defend...

40 Apples  Wed, Nov 13, 2002 5:14:13pm

I don't really think this kind of thing is appropriate. It seems to me that by portraying people we don't like as subhuman, we're saying to everyone, "Hey, we can't think of any reasonable arguments against what this guy's saying, so we'll just use this picture of a fish/monkey/whatever to make fun of him! Ha ha ha! Ignore the lack of intelligent debate completely!"

I think that by using cheap tactics like this that LGF is lowering itself to the radical left's level.

41 Dr. Jal Hampson  Wed, Nov 13, 2002 6:51:38pm
I don't really think this kind of thing is appropriate.

Would it have been wrong to portray Hitler in a dress during WWII? NO. Well in case you haven't been smelling the coffee, the Arab/Muslim world has SEVERAL Hitlers, Terrorfat among them. And this is WWIII.

42 zulubaby  Wed, Nov 13, 2002 6:57:35pm

Apples,

Stop getting hysterical.

It seems to me that by portraying people we don't like as subhuman...

Arafat is subhuman. Name one redeeming quality about Arafat. Hmmm, I thought so.

43 Photios  Wed, Nov 13, 2002 7:03:00pm

Apples (#40)

Lighten up. No one is denying Arafat's humanity. We are simply making fun of his hideous appearance

It is that fact that he is not subhuman that makes him the criminal of historic proportions that he is.

44 PDM  Wed, Nov 13, 2002 7:30:01pm

Arafat's keffiya on animals is not new, but always amusing.
[Link: vinylfrontier.com...]
Merging the two animals can be scary.

Can you believe they say Jews come from apes and pigs...

Who the pig? who? who?

45 Erik  Wed, Nov 13, 2002 7:44:40pm

Hey, we can't think of any reasonable arguments against what this guy's saying

Yeah, you're right. Arafat's position is so faultless that it is beyond rebuke. We are all dumbfounded by the profundity and truth of every word the man utters. I guess we'll have to settle for Arafish..

..see my post in the next entry.

46 Jeff S.  Wed, Nov 13, 2002 9:41:28pm

It looks as if The Incredible Mr. Wipe-it got his inspiration for the lime green socks from this lil critter. Maybe Jacques Cousteau was a Moslem after all. Or maybe he was just French.

47 NTropy  Wed, Nov 13, 2002 9:47:27pm

Hey PDM #44

I'm awfully glad I wasn't drinking a soda when I checked out your discover........er creations. I don't like it up my nose and replacing a keyboard on a laptop is more than I can afford.

48 PDM  Wed, Nov 13, 2002 10:03:05pm

#47 NTropy,

I'm awfully glad I wasn't drinking a soda when I checked out your discover........er creations.

I'm awfully glad you weren't drinking a Mecca Cola.

49 jason roth  Thu, Nov 14, 2002 3:53:53am

Ya know, just to be fair,
you shouldn't be hard on the fish like that, he's abviously got more going on up top than ol' Yasser does.
Geez just look at that cranium! He could probably move his bubble blowing treasure chest with his fishy thoughts!
On the flip side, Ol' Yasser has to pay his peeps' to move them into blowing themselves up.

50 Robert Crawford  Thu, Nov 14, 2002 4:38:25am

Hey, "Apples" -- stuff it.

Yassir Arafat has proven himself nothing but a two-bit dictator with delusions of being Hitler. He sends the children of "his" people out to die, just so long as they can kill a few Jews before their bodies are cold. He's removed himself from the human race by his own actions.

This is like Spike Jones recording "Right in Der Fuhrer's Face", or like this patent from 1942.

"Hey, we can't think of any reasonable arguments against what this guy's saying, so we'll just use this picture of a fish/monkey/whatever to make fun of him! Ha ha ha! Ignore the lack of intelligent debate completely!"

Do you even know what Arafat wants to do? Do you know what the schools he runs teaches? Or what airs on the television stations he runs? What makes you think we haven't considered what he "says" -- and primarily what he does -- and realized he's nothing but a wannabe mass murderer? What makes his "position" worth debating?

Do you know anything about him?

51 hanna  Thu, Nov 14, 2002 5:27:01am

What did this fish ever do to anyone to be put next to a man who cheered the assasination of Bobbie Kennedy?

I don't know whether to laugh or cry for the fish!

52 Apples  Thu, Nov 14, 2002 7:20:49am

I know Arafat is bad. You know Arafat is bad. But to people who may not have a full grasp of the situation, it looks like a cheap stab at him.

What makes you think we haven't considered what he "says"

The fact that in place of articles about the things that are taught in Palestinian schools, or about what airs on Palestinian television, or what Arafat says and does, is a picture of a fish, tells not only me, but everyone else visiting this site, that LGF has resorted to making fun of the way its opponents look.

53 zulubaby  Thu, Nov 14, 2002 10:26:06am

Apples,

Humor cannot be explained. You either get it or you don't. You obviously don't.

54 mommydoc  Thu, Nov 14, 2002 12:39:56pm

Apples--this wasn't

in place of articles about the things that are taught in Palestinian schools, or about what airs on Palestinian television, or what Arafat says and does

it was "in addition to."

And I doubt that many visitors to this site are neutral when it comes to Arafat. Most know he's evil, and the others think he's a hero, despite all the clear evidence to the contrary (ie--the Nobel prize committee.)

55 Apples  Thu, Nov 14, 2002 4:46:33pm

It's pretty naive to think that everyone who visits the site either thinks Arafat is a villain or a hero.

More to the point, who said people will see the picture on this website? This is the sort of image that people point to and say, "See? This is why you shouldn't listen to these people."

It's stuff like this that's the reason for people labeling LGF a hate site.

56 zulubaby  Thu, Nov 14, 2002 5:29:09pm

Apples (#55)

Enough already!

Those that think that having a laugh about the above picture renders LGF a hate site should either try to develop a sense of humor, or just not come here.

LGF is not a hate site. Give it a rest already. You're annoying me with your kvetching. I hate Arafat. Hate him, mmmkay? Is that hate speech? I hope so.

57 Maine's Michael  Thu, Nov 14, 2002 6:18:26pm

#56:

God for you! ;)

I hate Arafat. Hate him, mmmkay? Is that hate speech? I hope so.

Hooohooohaaaaahaaaaaa!
Right on. Jeez, some people are dense . . .

58 Maine's Michael  Thu, Nov 14, 2002 6:20:36pm

Zulubabe,

Whoops, that should be 'good for you!' I'm not a religious nut, yet.

MM

59 PDM  Thu, Nov 14, 2002 6:36:17pm

Oooooo....all you HATERS of evil! You're haters! That's what you are!
People are going to see you hating evil. And then what? They'll say you hate! You might even teach them to hate evil. And then what do you have? The cycle of hate...that's what!
Now march right over to the local Al-Asqa Martyrs Brigade office with open arms and tell them:
We love you, you don't have to act this way...please....put the guns down, take off that silly bomb belt and give me a hug.

60 zulubaby  Thu, Nov 14, 2002 6:36:35pm

Maine's Michael,

Thank you. I actually would like think that G-d is for me (as opposed to against me, ya know ;-)

61 mommydoc  Fri, Nov 15, 2002 12:59:46am

Apples: I'm always amazed when someone posts for the first time to chide others (usually regulars) on their manners. Give it a rest. You're new here, so it's the height of rudeness as the new guy to tell the regulars, as well as Charles, who's our host, what he should or shouldn't be posting, or about what we should or shouldn't be laughing about.

And this isn't why we've been labelled (by idiotarians, mind you) a hate site. We've said far more objectionable things. And you know what? We're not too worried if someone chooses to get their panties twisted over some truly harmless fun with Arafat (arguably one of the ugliest men, in side and out, ever to inhabit the earth). After all, it's not like we're bombing him or his, or shooting his children in their home for no other reason but their breathing and being a different religion.

If you don't like the humor here, you're free to leave and spend time on a more PC site, like ClearGuidance or Indymedia. Unless you have something interesting or productive to add here, STFU and STFD.

62 mommydoc  Fri, Nov 15, 2002 1:00:21am
